"So you're saying it doesn't matter if we kill you", said Selphi, slyly with a half-smile.

"Don't kill him, Selphi! He's pretty", responded Arthur, enjoying the attention, false as it may be.

Bilik smacked his own forehead with his palm and then dragged his palm down the side of his face in annoyance, "listen, Mr. Maxwell. You are loyal to us now and you will report to us whenever we ask. Is that understood?"

Selphi rolled her eyes and tapped her foot a bit harder. Arthur, however, looked quite pleased.

"I understand fully." Danny said finally blinking and looking around. He sat up on the table but did not get off. His hands roamed his jackets looking for something but his mind was a jumble still focused on them. "I will report when you summon me. I am loyal to you and no one else."

"Good", said Bilik, calmly, "you'll find you can leave this table. We will not stop you."

Arthur grinned. This would be great. They had an inside man of some considerable computer skill, his company and he was safe, and Danny would survive to purhaps become his undead lover at the end of it all. He felt very satisfied with the day.

Selphi, on the otherhand, fumed silently. Relying on the services of a human was risky at best and she had her own doubts about Arthur's intentions. The man's libido would someday be his undoing, she knew this! But the old ones like him had their quirks. None lived to such an advanced age without them.

Crazed despoiled royalty..., she thought, but quickly dismissed it. None lived to such an advanced age without being able to perceive the minds of others. It was dangerous to let one's mind wander.

Blinking a few more times Danny slid slowly off the table his jacket and shirt ridding up on him. He smoothed them down and shook his head. He felt like he was trapped under a wet blanket and he wanted to get it off. "That's it? I just walk out of here no problem. No marking me or anything? No biting me?

He felt this odd new link in his mind and it was overriding his urge to shoot them all and be done with the whole problem. "What if someone sees me coming out of this room."

"It's not OUR problem what happens to you when you leave here. Just do as your told, do your little job, and come when you're called, slave", said Selphi, calm and cold.

Bilik sighed. Arthur looked a bit stricken.

"What Selphi's trying to say is... is that you're just going to have to do your best without us, ok? We can't turn you if your girlfriend was really trained by Katrina. She'd know what you were in a second, and kill you in half the time!"

"If it was up to me, I'd have one of your arms as collateral", said Selphi.

This seemed to frustrate Arthur, who smirked and asked her, "what have you against this boy, Selphi? Jealous, aye?"

Selphi turned... even paler, not at all used to being talked to as such.

"J-just because YOU'RE perverse doesn't mean the rest of us choose to debase ourselves with animals", she said and immediately regretted it. Arthur stood and Selphi fell off the coach, seeming to be completely unable to move, as if pinned like a butterfly to a piece of cork, "I-I-I'm s-sorry, m-master. P-please excuse my impertinence."

She continued to babble out an apology, as Arthur turned to Danny, "Danny, you should leave. I must discipline my subordinates."

Arthur smiled innocently. Selphi writhed around on the floor in horror.

Danny gulped and nodded and made his way for the door. He looked back once and quickly slipped out and into the hallway. "Oh man..... I'm in deep s**t now aren't I?"

He hightailed it back to the battlefield in hopes of helping out. He made his way cautiously and had his weapon out but hidden. He could still hear it in the distance.
The vampire wielding the Uzi fell in a heap Miles had thrown him to the ground while taking very minimal damage. Miles stood over the blood-sucker, without so much as a twitch, holding his large gun directly at his fallen foe's head... that is until the helpless kindred opened his coat to reveal six grenades and a pin in his right hand.

Miles raised an eyebrow. The explosion was more than enough to take him out, and about a thirty foot radius. The building groaned.

Danny ran toward the aftermath of the explosion. There was no sign of one of his former teammates. He didn't know where the other one is and he really didn't care at this moment. "Damn, thank god I got away from here. I would have died like that fool." He stepped slowly through the carnage but he could still hear it going on in his former room. "Oh ********..... my computer. Son of a b***h."

He checked to see if he can step into what was left of the room and stepped back leaning against the wall. "I gotta find Bridgette."

Kale

As the bullets of the Vampires made contact with his skin - the bullets becoming embedded in the armoured body instead of having any real effect only proceeded to anger Kale. Spinning around and charging the shotgun wielding Vampire, Kale quickly smacked the gun out of the Vampire's hand and proceeded to kick him out into the hallway with a full force-pelted kick to the stomach. Charging the final Vampire - the one wielding the SMG's and hadn't made a run for his life or been killed so far, Kale rammed the man with his shoulder and continued to push him until smashing his head off of the wall.
Police sirens screeched outside and hotel security just began arriving on the scene, four guards on either side of what used to be a hallway. The chopping sound of a helicopter grew ever louder, and the standard "This is the Police. We have you surrounded..." etc echoed from outside.

The final vampire recovered, dizzy but functional and ran off down one of the still present halls. Two hotel security guards ran after him.

Somewhere, someone in an office cringed.

Danny had since slipped into the remains of the hotel room to search for his computer. He found it in the bag under what used to remain of a bed and a vampire. He looked at Kale. "You better get out of here dude.... bad stuff is happening."

He checked the hallway before hightailing it down the halls.
"Hey! Stop right there", yelled a security guard, running after Danny. This left just the one to watch Kale... but... he quickly decided that he simply didn't get paid enough... and ran after Danny as well, a few steps behind, leaving Kale alone, with a helicopter spotlight shining into the room and the thunderous sound of the SWAT team running up the stairs, the elevators having been taken out of commission.

Danny heard someone shout to him and he turned back to look. His eyes widened and he ran faster down the hall the computer bag bumping against his hip as he made paces. He saw a supply door up ahead and ran to it quickly. "Hmm.... lets see if this works."

He slammed the door hard with his fist and it opened. He hid inside and blocked the door.

"The s**t I get into these days.... god.. makes me wish I was still in lockup."
One of the security guards stopped at the closet door and banged it with his maglite. "Hey! get out of there or I'll have to make a citizen's arrest", he said. The other guard had given up the facade of doing anything useful and run towards the stairs.

Light shown through the now quite broken wall that was the agent's room. The helicopter spotlight was aimed directly at Kale, and the SWAT team was only seconds away.
//So maybe it's true
//That I can't live without you...

When Donna pulled Evy into a room by the stairs, they both went to listen at the door. Evy turned to Donna, hearing four different voices within the hotel. "Would you happen to know who's down there creating a fuss right now?"

//But you've already got me coming undone
//And I'm thinking two is better than one...
