//Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?

"Process process PROCESS YOU STUPID PIECE OF CRAP!!" Evy shouted at her computer screens.

She slammed herself back into her chair and pouted while glaring at all of the error messages. "The guys in the basement back home must have written a method wrong or something when they did the update."

DING!

That sound meant that Evy had a new e-mail. She reached out to her mouse and clicked on the dialog box. Surprise surprise; it was one of the boys in the programming underground back in D.C. who had sent her an apology and an attachment with the revised update to the audio program. "I told them they should've let me look over it even if it was just a minor thing..." She grumbled while she waited for the install to finish.

//It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
//You better let somebody love you...before it's too late...
Cole studied the speaker for a moment, taking in his appearance, eyes narrowing for a moment before shifting his weight then he shrugged and feigned ignorance.
"Murders? this doesn't look like the sort of place for that. What happened?" He asked managing to go against his normal calm demenor and look half way between horrified and interested.
"Well, between you and me, word is the hotel's haunted er some'ut. Now I don' know about all that, but I do know ain't nobody but the coroner and the Mayor seen the bodies. At least that's the hearsay. I dun' really know. Maybe the mayor's daughter seen the bodies too, considerin'", then the man noticed the van, "but where have mah manners got to, the name's Buck", he said, extending a hand to shake.
The phone in Evy's room rang.
//Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
//Come down from your fences, open the gate...

Evy jumped as the phone rang in her room. "Hello?" She sighed.

//It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
//You better let somebody love you...before it's too late...
"Your co-agents should be arriving shortly. You are to meet them in the lobby and give them a full report. That is all" -click-

A noise ran through one of the walls. Maybe the pipes. Maybe a rat.
//Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
//Come down from your fences, open the gate...

Evy scowled and hung up the phone. She turned back to her computer and locked everything down for security purposes. Then she stood up to change from her pajamas to a nice green blouse, a silver knee-length skirt, her black heels, and applied her makeup quickly. Grabbing her room key and her clutch, she left her room to go to the lobby, wondering what this first meeting would be like.

{I suppose I'll be getting off for the night since everyone else is gone too. Don't wanna get this thing too far ahead!}

//It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
//You better let somebody love you...before it's too late...
((Alright. Goodnight.))
Arching an eyebrow Cole made a note to also speak to the mayor's daughter, wondering why she would see the bodies. It was added onto the lists of the mayor, the coroner and all authority figures. It was added to the list of seeing the crime scene, speaking to the people who had found the bodies, and finding the coroner's report. First on the list though was to find the agent that was here. He took the man's hand with a small smile.
"Cole."
//Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
//Come down from your fences, open the gate...

Evy's ears perked up as she heard someone say, "Cole."

'Are we talking Sector 8 here...?' Evy thought. She looked to the open doors of the hotel lobby, where the cool breeze was coming and caught one of the locals who was talking to a young man with red hair, plus one of Sector 8's vans, probably loaded with a multitude of weapons and God knows what else.

Evy walked outside to check out the situation. "Err...Cole?" She asked tentatively.

Undead Hunter

Lena, who'd seen fit to watch, while her body oriented itself, turned to face the new comer. This was probably the person they were meeting.

Buck turned and looked at the lady and then turned back to Cole, "you guys know each other? Say, yer not here with the gover'ment er yeh?"
//Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
//Come down from your fences, open the gate...

"Ahahahahahaha! I know him yes, but with the government you say?" Evy laughed, maybe a bit too loudly. 'Calm down Eves, you're losing it...' She thought as she continued to laugh.

"No, err...Cole here...is my...friend. We met in college and thought we should probably catch up and just kind of...reminisce." Evy replied after mellowing out. 'This guy may look a bit shabby but I have to at least answer his question with something. If I leave it unanswered, that'll definitely raise suspicion.'

//It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you

"Well", said Buck, looking a little confused, "if'n yeh need anythin', I run the convenient store dan the street. Nice meetin' you folk."

He put his thumbs in his front belt loops and walked off.
Cole would have cheerfully strangled the other agent as she came out and asked his name. And then gave the worst explaination ever, in one of the worst ways. She was perhaps the worst actor he had ever seen.
"Good to see you again Evy." He rolled his eyes at her, then stated "Ignore her. She seems to have ADHD at times." he walked over to her and nodded over to Buck before he started to walk away
"Next time could you please stay calm. I do not think the people here would enjoy having goverment workers investigating their town." He shrugged "Odd actually, a small town like this would normally love the excitment. If not the reason."
