Undead Hunter

Lena looked up at Cole with an incredulous look on her face. It's not like she was going anywhere, Evy certainly wasn't going to carry her away. Besides, what did that boy think he was going to do anyway? She moved around sluggishly on the floor before falling into standby mode. Her sensory systems would still be functional, but most everything else would be shut down, letting her conserve battery life... at least until her sensory equipment burned it all out.

She allowed Evy to drag her off. She could repair herself later, maybe. She just needed her audio back. She's simply read Cole's lips.
He stared at her for a moment then pointed out.
"If he is dead then we cannot help him. And if he is dead then it is not him screaming. And I have no intention of remaining without being properly prepared." He stated then took the android's arm and started to help carry her. He kept his eyes on the boiler room.
"I do not care if you were frozen at your feet, good for you for staying when others would have fled the place leaving Lena to her fate." He stated with a shrug.
"Don't let it's actions and your fear cause you to make a decision that you will regret."
//Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
//Come down from your fences, open the gate...

Evy just looked away from Cole. She knew he had a good point. She was always team-player oriented; she also knew that Lena was a great asset to this assignment. Who knows what could happen if they didn't have her anymore?

Did Evy regret staying? Not completely. Again, Cole had a point. She bit her bottom lip. 'I hate feeling weak...' She thought. 'I know that I kind of knew what I would be getting into at the beginning. So why am I not better prepared? Evy didn't want to quit. It was a good job, probably better than what she would've gotten at NSA. But she also knew that this kind of stuff made her mentally unstable at times and fueled her insomnia.

Evy shook her head slightly. No use in thinking about it right now.

//It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
//You better let somebody love you...before it's too late...
The door closed itself and the sounds completely ceased, as if they had never been.
Cole watched as the door swung close, eyes narrowing again. he glanced down and blinked in surprise, seeing the sword. Then turned it back into the rod it had been and replacing it.
"What man?" He asked turning to Evy then leaning over to study Lena. Thinking things over before asking.
"Has your ability to communicate been compromised?" He asked, waiting for some sort of indication before turning back to Evy.
"Has anything like this happened before we arrived here?"
//Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
//Come down from your fences, open the gate...

Evy glanced back at Cole. "It was Buck, Cole. Buck was just murdered while he was carrying Lena up."

She sighed and started from the beginning. "After you left to go see the sheriff, she went to investigate the boiler room. I eventually joined her after I finished the update install. Past the high pitched sound I told you about earlier were voices. When we went down there the first time...the door shut and locked behind us."

Evy recounted the whole story for him, then waited for his response.

She produced static as she tried to speak, this time able to produce sound bites of her voice in intervals, but it was the best she could do. There was only so much her auto-repair could accomplish without additional metal or replacement parts.

She could feel air coming into her chassis from the hole in her forehead.
//Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
//Come down from your fences, open the gate...

"Wait." Evy said when she heard static emitting from Lena again. She heard bits of pieces of the Made Agent's voice but there was no telling was she was trying to say. "God Lena, I'm so sorry..."

She looked at the hole in her forehead. "We need to get her fixed up. And soon. But...how..." Evy trailed off. Judging by the looks of it, they probably wouldn't have any Lena until after they got back to D.C.

Cole looked at her for a moment sorrow flickering over his face for a moment before he shook his head.
"We will recover his body and give him a proper burial. Later." He frowned for a moment then picked out a nail from the box that was also in the room. he held it in the middle of his hand and watched as it pooled into liquid then put it on her forehead. Holding his hand there until it hardened again.
"It is a temporary fix. but better than having a hole in your head. Your bangs should conceal it until it can be properly repaired." He glanced at Evy then shrugged.
"I cannot do repairs, I would most likely do more harm than good." He paused for a moment then shut his eyes.
"I need to continue my investigation.I am sure that the people here are either grossly incompedent or actively involved in this somehow." And that just from meeting with the sheriff. but he wasn't happy about leaving her here when she was obviously shaken or Lena when she was damaged.

Lena smiled at Cole. First intelligent thing anyone'd done since since that dead guy, Buck. But her smile faded as she realized she was at 12% power, which meant there was something severally wrong with her power system. She hoped it wasn't a leak. There was no way to reproduce her battery. The one man that knew how was dead, the stupid b*****d.

Her thoughts were interrupted by a bellboy approaching the three agents. He addressed Cole and Evy.

"I... do you need help bringing your... friend to your room", he said, thinking the poor girl had had a bit too much to drink. He was a highschool kid with black, tightly curled hair, dressed in the normal busboy attire, which was unusual for such a small hotel.
//Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?

Evy watched in awe as Cole manipulated the metal to cover the hole in Lena's forehead. "It's greatly appreciated, probably more by her than me...I'm capable of doing hardware repairs, but Lena is specialized technology. The only people who really know her setup are the scientists." Evy said sadly.

Listening to Cole's comment, she thought hard about other options, especially ones dealing with involvement of the townspeople. "Let's think...are there any kinds of ghostly entities that are able to hold solid objects? Spectral kinds of spirits?" She asked Cole.

//It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
//You better let somebody love you...before it's too late...
Cole turned to her and then nodded.
"Several I believe." He turned and looked up at the busboy, eyes narrowing for a moment as though regarding some unwanted pest. his one brow arched and he nodded.
"Yes. You can assist Evy in helping her to her room and at least try not to be rude about it." He stated standing up.An idea occuring to him but he wasn't going to speak of it while in front of the other.
"Why are you dressed in such a fashion?" He asked studying the busboy closer, and he leaned down to pick up the tool kit.
Hectic sat up in his chair slightly, he hadn’t seen a vampire before but he knew about them from his crash course in super natural creature. I was a little uncomfortable about shooting something that looked just like a person but he knew he would have to at some point.

He cleared his throat before he looked back to the head agent “Okay, so what’s the plan?” Up until now, most of his assignments had been spoon fed to him, such as ‘stay here and cover them’.

"First, we must prove that Rudolfo Vanderleigh ees, in fact, a vampire. These will involve a search of his house while he ees away, access to his personal computer on the top floor of Vanderleigh Tower, and an interrogation uf hees employees."

She straightened her collar, "Then, we file a report and wait for our orders. These will be a very difficult and complex mission. Small team ees necessary, if we are to remain undetected, which ees paramount to our success. Ees these clear?"

"I'm sorry.... GL-0? What in the world is that?"
Danny said raising an eyebrow, just because he was an agent doesn't mean he was allowed to hack his own systems computers. "How can we," He said waving to the three of them, "Stop a vampire?"
