"No. If he's hurt, I doubt it's something ittepearable. It's the possibility of death that worries me." answered Morgenstern with a grim expression on his face.
He was indeed worried about Jonahtan. The way he used up his energy was not very wise. And then there was Abernathy... Heinrich himself had seen enough death of comrades to being able to cope with it effectively. It was Abernathy he was worried about. They got so well along together which was very important for Abernathy, who was just getting used to being around big masses of people. If Jon is dead, then Morgenstern didn't know what to do. His way to cope with a death of a dear friend and/or comrade in battle was to think "Well, this happens.", try to forget it and get drunk if the forgetting part was proving tricky. But those were ways of a grizzled human soldier, and not appliable to a forest elf such as Abernathy, who probably wasn't used to seeing her comrades getting killed.
Morgenstern grabbed a tall wooden ladder from the ground, leaned it against the inn walls and started to climb up. As he reached the roof he saw Jonathan lying there.
Heinrich got off the ladder and onto the roof.
"Hey, can you hear me?" Morgenstern shouted at him while tapping Jon to his cheek for a strengthened effect.
