Plot

As all things seem to start, the players caught up in this tale did not expect the events of their trials and tribulations to occur to them. Yet none of these players ever expected to have their own worlds shattered when the distinct worlds of the other players suddenly and without reason merged with their own and created a world unlike any they had seen in their sheltered lives. An unknown streak of orange light rent from horizon to horizon unlike any that had ever been seen before, a colorful streak lacking pattern, yet attracting notice with a thunderous grating sound. As people gazed to the light to sate their curiousity as to what the light could be, there came a quake, brief yet powerful enough to knock the sturdiest and most well-balanced to the ground. And as it ceased and those caught within it tried to recover from what had happened, a blinding flash of light engulfed the air from the streak in the sky and set everything into motion.

Meanwhile, within the real world, everything has gone horribly wrong. In this fast-paced age of advancement, the world has come to a standstill as the Internet and all the technology that people have come to rely on has ceased to function. A massive virus has stemmed from the online games known as MMORPGs. This virus, known appropriately as Gamemaster, has grown slowly to expand and engulf past its origins, taking site by site, server by server until it had consumed the Internet. It was strangely immune to firewalls and virus protection, engulfing them without prejudice. It grew and grew without abandon. Major leaders debated together for what seemed like ages, arguing about possible ways that it could be killed, arguing that if it could not be eradicated soon, it could do incalcuable damage to mankind. With the rate that it was growing, there was little time to create an antivirus and thus it left them with two options: either shut down the internet or allow it to continue its course.

If they shut down the internet, then the world would come to a standstill just long enough for them to construct an antivirus and prevent it from growing farther. Yet if they did not shut it down, it would do as all monostrosities did and consume until it could do so no longer. In typical human fashion, the majority decision was to shut down the Internet and develop the antivirus. The moment that the switch was pulled however, it pulled down much more than just the internet. Every piece of technology, from phones and mp3 players to television and radio shut down simultaneously, as if an invisible signal had shut them all down. As major leaders realized what had happened, they tried to reverse what had happened but they found that they were unable to, thwarting their ability to create an antivirus. And the world that thrived on technology and progress came to a grinding halt.

And in the shifting world with the orange light, existance was still far from normal. The players caught within this maelstrom have been literally thrust within the very center of a newly created world. This world is a ragged combination of the worlds of every player, the possibly undefined worlds of every piece of media that exists. When these worlds collide, it is difficult to tell what the results will be but what will be assured is the adventure that ensues.

The About Section

Absolute Rule
Follow the ToS and the rules and guidelines.

What not to do
-No godmodding, flaming, trolling, etc.
-No mary-sues, gary-stus, or anything thing else ending in the sound of 'oo'. Except for you. You're welcome here, duh.

About Me
I am the gamemaster and the cause of the trouble. I am random and sporatic.

About Literacy
Please, just for the sake of saying, be literate.

About Morality and Reality
Be as real as humanly possible. Everyone has weaknesses and flaws, everyone makes mistakes, some people are odder than others, some are good, evil, or neutral.
-Good: morally upright, selfless, kind
-Evil: immoral and cruel, arrogant, selfish
-Neutral: no preference, reserved, the most difficult to portray because they can be unpredictable in their actions. This also makes them the most dangerous.

About Relationships
I encourage both romance and love. Romance is fleeting, love takes a lot longer, but we cannot all follow one category, can we? A character can take your heart, break it, and find they want it back again. A brief romance can blossom into love. However, if this love-hate-love thing occurs, then please think about what your character would do in that situation. Would they really take that person back, would they play hard to get, try to obtain revenge, or let them go? Would they be disgusted or feel pity toward guilt, would they feel as though they would be used again, would they be forgiving and loving? The same thing with friendships- if a person betrayed you, how would you look at them, with sadness or anger? Would it affect the way that you see your other friends or people in general? When you see others carry on in their own ways, in their own relationships, ignorant of your plight, will you feel hateful or jealous, anxious or hurt, or will you just not care?

About Equipment
-No godlike or divine weapons that can rent the hell out of the world in one stroke.
-No armor that is impervious to damage or makes people anywhere close to invincible.
-No magically obtaining gear that could be needed on the journey.

About magic
No sudden mastery over any magic. Masters take a long time to gain mastery over anything, even if dedicated. Magic is something that cannot be explained. As such, it is unexpected. It has the ability to do great things or unspeakable tragedy, even the ability to kill its host if used in too great a quantity or if not controlled correctly. Very few people can just learn it- usually people are born with the ability.

About races
It doesn't matter what kind of race you are, they all have strengths and weaknesses and what we call 'human' traits. Learn them.

About normal people
Not all players are magical or gifted like others are. They are normal human beings and we call them boring. Not always true- normal humans are just as vital as everyone else. They are common, sometimes undetectable, depending on the world, and highly underestimated. Sometimes, all it takes is the help of normal people to do extraordinary things. They go through the same struggles and are often the most predictable yet resilient of all of the races, or so the human race goes. And normal humans are a bit more intriguing in a magical, trait-oriented group/world because they always have something to prove.

About the world
The world of WWC is a combination of all of the worlds that got sucked into each other and spit up. It is quite possible to find samurai with guns or a massive carnage site of samurai who tried to figure out what the hell electricity was. It's also quite possible that Howard Stern and Dr. House could have tried to raise armies to try and kill each other. It all depends on whatever it is that is inserted into the world.

About religion
Not everyone tolerates religion and not everyone finds it abhorrant. Some believe in god, others believe in a polytheistic way, others deify humans, others worship nature, some do not believe at all, and still others believe in Jesus. Believing in a god and believing in Jesus are completely different guys. You can be fanatic and zealous or a mild believer. You can believe in whatever you wish, but not everyone will believe as you do and not everyone will love you for it. Be careful how you preach and what you mutter.

About sex and orientation
Big taboo...
Keep sex at PG-13 people, if at all. No one needs to come here to find out the graphic details of how people spend last night. I'm not saying not to, just keep it down and brief. No cybering either. That's just stupid now, come on. And on those not heterosexual, know that it could be a risk to be as you are. Some don't accept it, some will imprison you, yell at you, try to kill you or hurt you, or they may accept you. Careful now...

About prejudice and hatred
Ah, yes. The backbone of man. Alright, so sometimes people are prejudiced against each other because they were instilled hatred against something by parents, religion, or just a passing stranger. It is the way of any race to love and/or to hate others. Just keep it in the roleplay. If you take your prejudice anywhere outside of the roleplay, you will be banned from the roleplay and I don't care who you are. You could be my best friend, my parents, or even God.

About Players
-I need your profiles before I can make the world. That's why it's blank.
-Please don't suddenly leave the roleplay. Tell people if you hate it or if you can't. Don't just drop off the face of the world. Come on guys, common courtesy. Leaving is just dickery.
-When this roleplay starts, there can be no other playersthat can join unless someone leaves and that person is willing to take the role of the person who left.

Profiles

Profile Sheet- it doesn't need to be pretty to be effective.

One liner describing you

Basic
Signature: insert username here. However, do not put your username here or fill out the sheet unless you have read all of the rules and guidelines and have an interest in sticking around for a while. If you do, you're awesome. If you don't, that's cool too.
Name: Include nickname here in quotes.
Age: Be realistic people.
Gender: Male, female, or asexual
Race: Half-god, half-demon, half-human...does not compute. Literally...

World
Type: o3o
Religion: For the world, not you...
Politics: Monarchy, theocracy, democracy, autocracy, anarchy...
Capital Description and Name: be brief and descriptive. For sci-fi, what is the largest planet/city of commerce?
Military Force: Knights, samurai, aliens, bunnies, etc...

About You
Strength[s]:
Weakness[es]: You know the drill, have at least one. Flaws go in here too.
Description: Describe yourself in some detail. If you have a picture, link the word description with the picture.
Religion: Be brief yet descriptive.
Orientation: Asexual, Bisexual, Heterosexual, Homosexual, Pansexual, Polysexual. Please use these words instead of gay, straight, or 'I love everyone."
Relationships: I don't know. You could be married or you could be in a relationship when the worlds get torn apart. Not everyone is single.
Morality: You don't have to be good, evil, or neutral. You could be good-neutral or evil-neutral or evil then good or good then evil. Those last two should come with a valid reason.
Occupation: Not explaining...
Equipment: Swords, shields, armor, canes, books, clothes, or whatever it is you carry on you. Carry as much will encumber you or as you want. Remember, you have limits. Weapons limited to no more than three. Everything else is however much you can carry and for however long you can carry it for.
Magic: If you are a master over a magic, I want to see a valid number of years on your age and a valid amount of time spent learning the magic. We cannot all be Dumbledore in his pro-ness. Try also not to have conflicting elements or magics working in your body unless you're somehow like the Avatar. Conflicting magics seem like they would take a real toll on the user's body and they just seem a bit unnatural. But who am I to say what unnatural is? I just said try.
Personality: Yay! We get to see what backbone you have or you lack. Okay people. Let's do this- we're not all action-oriented, meaning that we do not all rush into battle without thinking. We're also not all thought-oriented. Some people are hypocrites, others are serious, others are a mess of emotions. Some try to hide their feelings while others are sensitive. Some are afraid, some have phobias- yes, like the whole 'believe in god/believe in Jesus' thing, fear and phobias are mildly different. Phobias are irrational. Please state the difference between them. Please no oxymorons for traits. Also put your little hobbies and quirks in here too. It's the little things that we can tell about a person, not just what you find in a woman's purse.
Bio: Hahahahaha! Do not fill this one out for us to see. Your biography will come as the story is being told. Remember though- we are not all orphans, we do not all suffer unnatural childhoods filled with abuse, our parents are not always awesome. Sometimes we are the products of rape, intrigue, marriage, or bad decisions. Sometimes we are retarded. I mean mentally retarded. I don't know why your parents decided to have you or your character's them. So fill this one out yourself and set it to the side where no one but you can see it. And when you feel the time is right or when events occur that bring out your history, then we get to know.
Other: Anything else we need to know. I don't know what else. Surprise me.
Theme Song: Yes, the dreaded theme song. I put this here because everyone has one and it's a bit easier to identify with people if you know how they roll. Again, we don't all need depressing songs or happy songs. If you have an a*****e character, give him an a*****e related song. If it's happy, then choose something jovial. Angry, angry. Annoying, annoying. Soothing character is soothing. We get my point.

About Map
The Tower of the White [black circle] is the guardian tower that is located to the east, the only stronghold that prevents the Gamemaster from entering into the World and taking complete control. The red barrier, which reaches all the way into the sky and can be seen from every point on the map, is able to cease much of the Gamemaster's control, however it cannot stop all of it. The World to the west of the barrier is filled with limited Gamemaster control. The World to the east of the barrier, The White, is completely controlled by the Gamemaster.

Everyone starts off in the large circle clearing in the Koltari forest. Where each adventurer goes from there is entirely up to chance.

It is up to the creator to dictate the actions of the World that they come from and the people that run inside of it.

Filling Your Life With Meaningless Crap

~Yay, Open!~

In the space above the Tower of the White, an odd fairy flew to the west. It had been easy for it to pass through the firewall that seperated its domain from the rest of this data. However, it felt much of its control had dwindled the moment that it had passed through it, including its ability to devour data. It did not grow angry or fly around sporatically but instead flew, taking in a view of the data that it wanted to consume. It was endlessly hungry, tirelessly searching to fill that hunger. This area was not the only one of its kind, it knew. There were a few other sectors like this, sectors with firewalls where its power was limited. But it was here now, in this sector. It didn't know if there were more, but the one thing that it did know was that these firewalls could not last forever. Every protection software grew outdated eventually...

He had been dreaming of nothing, as he usually did when he went to sleep- no light, no color, no sound, not even a picture. He wasn't capable of most of those things, only sound when he was fully conscious. He didn't understand sound, only knew that it was there. He didn't understand much, but that didn't stop him from enjoying it.

He had been dreaming of nothing, laying on his back at the foot of the forge. It had not been the first time that he had slept there. Usually he slept curled up outside of his master's door like a puppy. Despite his feline appearance, he was ironically doglike. If he could suppose, he would have considered his beastial race a mistake. However, if he had been anything but an akiri- at least in look- he would not have met Nana. If he could have dreamt, he would have dreamt of her, as he would in his thoughts. But in his waking thoughts, all he saw and heard was sound.

If he had been awake, he would have heard soft, warm music that would have lifted the heart of whoever heard it. Yet he slept, unknowing of the light in the sky, blissfully unaware that the hardwood floor beneath him and the familiar settings around him had disappeared and transformed into a different surrounding. His mouth hung open, a low snore sounding from his throat, one hand resting over his belly and loosely clutching a hammer and a pair of tongs. He would wake soon, his internal clock set to rouse him at the same time every morning as it had since his arrival- until then, as they say, ignorance is bliss.

When darkness overtook her, Aeren thought that she was dead. She hadn't been smoking for too long a time, but that combined with her recent lethargy and complete lack of will...she thought that she had gone to whatever heaven the gods of her people occupied. Not that she deserved heaven- no, she had been taught to think better than that. Hell, she had been taught to live better than the way that she was living now and nothing was stopping her. Not completely. If Aluna didn't give a damn about her wellbeing, didn't tell her to move or run an errand, she was sure that she would really be dead. She supposed that she should be grateful. Aeren didn't do death very well but she had once known how to give it easily to others who didn't do death well either.

If she could have smiled, she would have, a smile laced with some kind of irony, she didn't know which one. But the fact of the matter was she couldn't smile or do much of anything really.

The last thing that she remembered, she had been skirting around in the snow, being as lightfooted as she usually was, avoiding malicious snowballs from Sabre and reminiscing about the last time a snowfall had come. The city had been alive with the pleased shouts of running children and the small crowds of huddled people looking for warmth. The winding city streets and alleys were layered with thick white flakes, every roof and archway covered in several inches of white virgin snow. Snowfall had always been a time that Aeren enjoyed, the biting cold and pristine white reminding her not only that she was alive but that the world always held a hidden facet of beauty among the ugliness. And the next thing that she knew, one of Sabre's snowballs had clocked her in the face, her vision had been filled with bright color, and darkness had taken her swiftly.

And as she came to, she could still feel the snow, her face burning with the cold from its lingering presence. She groaned softly but did not open her eyes or move. "Sabre..." was the only word that she spoke.

Getsuko sat by his master protectively as she lay there asleep. Curled in a fetal position, Reverie wrapped herself even tighter into a ball. She felt not the hot rays from the sun nor the coarse grains of sand beneath her. It was all...different. Different from where she used to be.

Her assignment had been simple. There was a call from another village that she had to respond to. Gathering her supplies she had set off with Getsuko by her side. It took maybe a day's journey and when she arrived it turned out that the machines had started to infiltrate their walls. Of course she did what any other guardian did. She performed the merge with Getsuko in order to protect everyone. Once that was done...once that was done...

Rev couldn't remember.

Perhaps she was knocked out? And another guardian had come and saved them all? Maybe this explained the change of temperature and weather. Maybe she was underground now, safe from the outside machines. Sighing a small sigh, Reverie let herself stretch. Her Gojin-Zou looked over its shoulder at her sudden movement. "Mm...sorry Gets...just five more minutes..."

As Kakuza came awake, he immediately sat up, the hammer and tongs falling out of his hands and in between his legs, landing with a muffled thud on the ground. The soles of his feet came together as he placed them whenever he sat down. He heard silence in his head and he cocked it to one side, as if contemplating something. But there was nothing to be contemplated and without shrugging it away, he stretched himself where he sat, flexing out his arms and legs and then his whole body in short but full movements. When he was done, he placed the soles of his feet back together and felt around for his hammer and tongs, and he smiled happily when he found them, knowing that they were in his possession once more. They were precious to him, the tools, as his master was precious to him and this world was precious to him. He didn't know any better.

It was then that the music turned on in his head, the soft music that was his indication that it was the morning, that a new day had dawned. That, and his master coming out every morning, telling him "Good morning, Kaku", and the ruffling of his hair after the greeting. Only the music greeted him this morning. He reached a hand out for the forge, which would have been to his right and waited for the distinct thock! that would have greeted him when his hammer hit the stone of the forge. He grew confused as he not only heard nothing, but he felt nothing.

His head turned to the right and he swung his hammer in that direction, wondering why there was no sound. After multiple swings, he called out quietly for it and stumbled to his feet, looking for the forge. He turned his head every which way and began running around frantically in an odd rectangular pattern, feeling around for an area that did not exist.

Getsuko gently nudged the small body beside him trying to wake her up. She had had enough time to rest, besides this wasn't the time to be resting at all. Rev pushed against his steel muzzle. "Not right now..." The metal head cocked to the side at her response. As if huffing against her reply Getsuko only lowered his head to nudge her harder. "Fine! I'm..." Forcing herself up into a sitting position Reverie finally looked around herself. She blinked a few times. She closed her eyes, rubbed them, and opened them again. She even slapped herself a little bit.

Where was she?

"...I thought...Weren't we by the Village of Seven?" Rev asked turning to Getsuko. He sat back on his haunches and nodded his head. Scratching her head she looked around again. "...This doesn't look like it..." It didn't look like it at all. Where was the sand? Even the air didn't seem the same. Where were... Shrieking she jumped to her feet and looked around. Maybe the machines had somehow managed to drag her somewhere! Maybe there were going to try to get rid of her! Edging closer to her friend, Reverie about tripped on him from moving too fast. 'What should I do, what should it do!?'

"Lord get me out of this city tonight,
Cause you are what made me feel alive,
Here I am again running away from the truth,
Just know that you move me like I've never been moved."
Aeren growled softly as her ears started ringing with the slight traces of noise that were circulating in the air. She hated all of the noise of the cities, the little children running around everywhere shouting their glee, venders hawking their wares in the streets and in shops, and the clamor of voice upon voice talking and yelling. Her ears were attuned to every sound, some of them individual and others meshed together, all of them grating and irritating.

She thought it strangely appropriate that her ears were so physically sensitive- the gods had cursed her, as they always seemed to do. They had given Sabre good aim as well, an aim good enough to knock her out cold, no pun intended. And when she got a hold of him, she was going to break his arm.

"Sumbitch..." she mumbled, lightly slapping a hand to her face. The remnants of the snowball covered most of her cheek and they were starting to burn a cold hole in her skin. As she fussed with the snow, she opened her eyes, expecting to find a white-covered avenue of carefree children and warm shops. But there were none of these things.

There were no buildings, no people, no smug little specter looming over her to admire his handiwork. There was only brown, green, and blue. She froze.

"What in the hell..." She trailed off, pushing herself to her knees and looking around with a shocked eye. What else could she say? She had no idea where she was or what force had brought her here. It was like gods' magic except that they couldn't be bothered with her. And she knew that it wasn't Sabre- that little pissant wouldn't waste his time and energy doing something like this. So what then? She wasn't even sure that she wanted to find out, but wherever she was, she had to get out and fast.
