{{Why, thank you! And, well, I kinda suck at making avis: I can only come up with a new one every... oh... Three months?

And as it so happens: this post should give give enough to finish a new avi! ...Not counting the 500k item that would make it perfect. >3>

Oh wait, no: no one's selling what I'm looking for on the market, so I need to pay 280 gold more at the shop. =/}}

'By the grace of the father and purity of my heart...

Avalon grinned as he felt his paw connect to Palestra's knee 'that will slow her down and keep her from using any high powered spells with any recoil to them' he thought as he readied himself. He felt the air grow heavy with energy 'she is charging' he thought, he saw the first attack coming and reacted faster, he placed a hand against the stone wall behind him and it moved infront of him. It blocked the first attack, but started to crumble. "got to fix it fast" Avalon muttered as he started to draw a mark on the wall. He didn't see the second attack coming until the wall exploded and he was knocked back. He groaned as he hit the ground and slowly got back up, he looked to this hand and saw one of the ink markings fade 'she got the first hit on me... better move faster' he thought as he started to run forward. He dragged his inky fingers along the ground before stopping the pressing his hands to the long line "Fire... pierce her defenses" he chanted as the line started to float off the ground and ignite into several flaming arrows. He waved a hand forward to send three of them forward, leaving nine floating behind him.

[[Jason: It's not like I think y'all woud do it, but I don't want people copying my avis. I won in the Arena way back, 2nd place, so I know that people like my stuff... I just hate people that copy me. >.> ]]

Palestra saw Avalons' quick glance to his hand. She knew off the bat that she had gotten the first hit. At least things were in her favor... for now. Then Avalon raced forward and shot three flaming projectiles toward her. She reacted swiftly, calling up powerful psychic concentrations.

The air wavered, finally forming into the shimmering, rippling shape of an arm. It almost looked like water; it was visible, but clear. It had no joints and seemed to arch out of her back. Another followed it, until she had three of the same arms out of her back. They stood poised for a moment, before rushing out and snatching the flaming arrows. All except one. It missed the arrow by only a hairs breadth, but it was enough. The projectile slammed into her, andshe flet the wave of heat that shot through her body.

The psychic arms dissipated as she skidded bakwards, clutching her side where it stabbed. The arrow itself was gone now, but there was a bad cut and a gruesome burn that ran out five inches in all directions. She checked her hand and watched as her first mark disappeared.

She looked up at him and waited for him to fire his next projectile. She would be ready this time.

[[Does everyone get the whole idea of the 'psychic arms'? If not, check this out: it's from Elfen Lied, and it's the inspiration for the idea. Watch from 0:56 to see the arms...]]

ATTENTION!!

Tomorrow is my 1,000 day on Gaia! Can you believe it? One thousand!! Ah, the memories, back in good ol' '07 when a Flame Sword was 10k and the OMG hat only 1 million...

Well, before I go into a terribly dull monologue on the 'good old days', I just wanted to say that there shall be a party! Yes, where you all bring me presents!!

(They can be lame little things, like a bouquet or 100 gold, that's fine with me. Or nothing at all, if you don't want to.) But I'm just putting it out there!

When and where shall this party be, you ask? Well, it shall be tomorrow, and I'll inform you then on the festivities.

Thanks in advance~!!

'By the grace of the father and purity of my heart...

Avalon smirked, his fangs peeking out slightly "That makes the score... two to two" he muttered. He was slightly surprised at what Palestra was able to do, he didn't know the abilities of the advance telekinetics. He lifted a hand to one of the arrows and grasped it, it continued to burn but not him. He waved it in the air like a wand and grinned as a thin red trail formed in the air "Summon forth... rampaging dragon" he chanted as an arrow flew into the floating mark and exploded into a long serpent form, still burning as it moved around in the air. The area grew hotter, Avalon smirked as he looked at his clothes, he was dressed lightly while the Sharvan dressed for more modesty. "Dragon... burn her" he commanded as an arrow flew into the dragon and it let out a wide spray of flames.

[[Wait, kitsune: do you mean by 'two to two' that we each have two marks left or that we lost two each? I was under the impression that we both had two left, but...]]

Palestra watched as the arrow slowly morphed into the alarming form of a dragon. At first she mistook it for one of the ancient race, but then she noted his control over it and realized it to be an enchantment. She gazed intently at Avalon, her gaze never wavering, even as the dragon sped towards her.

Just before the creature came in contact with her, the shimmering light of her aura reappeared, shooting upward from her into a huge pillar of swirling light. It arched into a tendril of pure energy, poised for attack, and then it lunged forward, clashing with the flaming serpentine form. They hit one another, both holding their ground but neither giving way.

Palestras' hair billowed about her as she stood there, looking extremely unattentive. In truth, her mind blazed with the power of the summon; she could feel the force of the opposing magic. This Avalon, if won over to her side would definitely be a powerful asset. However, Palestra also judged by character; she did not want to conquer the Shatir by brute force; she wanted to overpower them by the power of the races unity, to prove to the Ashnar Alliance that they needed one another. If this one was to be in her army, he would have to display moral values.

After nearly a minute of both forces clashed together, neither giving way, Palestra broke the link, and allowed the dragon to hit her. She doubled over by the force of it, and flew backwards, landing on her back. She felt the air rush out of her lungs, and she lay there, waiting for Avalons' reaction.

Either he was going to ruthlessly take the last strike on an unarmed opponent, therefore winning the duel, or he would show chivalry and character and wait for her to rise. If he did hit her agian and won the duel, she would be glad; she would not want such a ruthless leader in the top ranks of her army.

((WOoT! I'm back!

I'm sure nobody knows what I'm talking about, It seems like I've just been gone for a day, but I assure you there is a greater reason for my verbal celebration...

See, ever since friday, my mom was supposed to pay our cable bill, but because her job decided to start paying everybody twice a month instead of bi-weekly, that left a gap. She had no money to pay, and saturday we lost our cable, internet, and phone service all together (stupid optimum triple play...)

But today was the 15th! Momma got paid and paid the bill, so once again I have internets! And if you're wondering why I was on a few days ago, I stole a signal from my neighbor's wireless router.))

((By the way, Erethia and kitsune, where are Palestra and Avalon fighting? I forgot and don't feel like scouring all of your posts to find the location.))

Dawn Skyler

"It's all in my hands...
I must not fail...I must not fail...

Dawn was sure that Roanoke could make it back to Kai with no problems with the relative peace between Petra and Arpa. So she left the castle quickly and headed to the city below it. She had preparations that she needed to make and she didn't need Roanoke to slow her down. She knew exactly what he would say; he would try to tell her that she was trying to do to much, that she wasn't brought there to put herself in danger. But she felt that this was possibly the only way to bring the human nations together with the others to form a unified front against the Shatir.

Before she had left her monastery, many of her brother and sister monks had given her what they could to aid her on her journey. She had many of the tools that she would need for survival in the arid climate of the Salib Desert; she mainly needed to stock up on food and water. The best thing about using your body as a weapon was that it not only honed your strength, allowing you to carry more, but you also did not need to carry any weapons. It only took a few hours before Dawn had all that she needed. Once she was prepared, she exited the city, heading south towards the mountain wall...

Five days had passed before Dawn found herself at the edge of the desert. She was always surprised by its vastness; the sea of sand seemed to stretch on endlessly as if it was the end of the world itself. Dawn knew that somewhere past the dunes and walls of sand she would find the Shatir. She didn't know exactly what she would do when she got there. It would be difficult to hide herself in such a difficult territory, and fighting her way through an army was definitely out of the question. She could only have faith in herself and what she was doing; if the holy father wanted Ashnar to avoid disaster, then he would somehow see her through this trial.

Without Emotions, without feelings,

[[Hrm... I really need to go meet up with Rioku, but I also want to see Dawn...]]

Eoghan sat on a cliffside above the unsuspecting child as she dipped her canteen into the fresh water. He watched her as she lazed about, seemingly content. She seemed to pose no true threat to him, so he merely gazed at her as her form slowly changed into a silhouette in the setting sun.

Not setting another moment to waist, Eoghan climbed silently into the sky, his dark robes masking him from view against the dusk backdrop. He hurtled forward after a little while, along the mountains, seeking for the easiest route in that had the least amount of civilized populance on the opposite side.

It was then that he saw a lone figure, far beneath him, in the desert sands. As his robes billowed out from beneath him, he shot through the air and glided to a landing so perfectly soft that the golden sands beneath him did not even rise.

At closer inspection, he saw it to be one of the ancient dragon folk whom had come to their side near the beginning of their onslought. He drifted nearer, hoping to speak with this person; if he was free, he would be available for the reconaissance.
