Aaron stood up and not soon after felt the warm arms wrap around him. This time he didnt resist but instead petted Mio's head behind him and for once understood his role. He was her protector. No matter how much he didnt want to be. But, he would also be her mentor. He needed to show her how to defend herself if she was ever going to survive. Ever. He smiled and bent down so that instead of her holding onto his waist it was his shoulders. He bent his head back and whispered, "I'll protect you Mio, I promise," and stood back up, facing Alexa like nothing had happened.

Sydney

Syd didn't seem at all bothered to find out that she was talking to a vampire. "Well, that sounds unbelievably boring to me." Sydney replied flatly. This guy clearly hadn't had a single loss of anything in his lifetime. That was what irritated her right now, more than the vampire's nonchalant attitude and mannerisms. However, she said nothing about that out loud.

"What might seem nice and easy to you, vampire, might not be so nice and easy for another person." Tyr replied, adding his two scents to this little debate. Of course, Tyr had his ways of implying things which meant that most people wouldn't fully understand what the dragon was talking about. In this case, Tyr was referring to Sydney's own situation, but the vampire didn't need to know any of that unless Sydney wanted to tell him anything. Which was very unlikely in happening.

Alexa realized that she had mistaken what had happened.Alexa looked down and said"No I'm sorry..It's my fault...I just want to be friends to."Alexa stood up onto her feet as well,knowing that Mio was hiding behind one of the tree.Alexa just shrugged then looked away.



After Mio had come in sight,Alexa just stood there with disbelief."Is Aaron supposed to be her protecter what what?"Alexa kept asking herself.Aelxa stepped backwards for Mio and Aaron to have space for.After Mio and Aaron was done hugging and al that nonsense Alexa took a step back forward and just gave a quick smile to Aaron.

"Life's never easy, especially without friends." Gabriel replied as he sat normally again. His face turned serious. "I've been here for over five hundred years, without ever having friends. and it's never bloody easy." he started, as he looked up at the girl. His eyes turned to the dragon. "I'll bet that it's not easy for this girl, but taking some proper advice, wouldn't kill her." his eyes turned back to the girl. "But if you want to go about on your own, I'm not holding you here. You had the choice to go away the moment I started talking to you, so the fact that I might be annoying you, is partially your own fault."

Aaron smiled and still held firmly onto Mio's hands and walked over to Alexa. He took her hands away but held her one hand. He looked at her and smiled, holding her hand in his other hand. From an onlooker, it seemed as though he was a player. Well, maybe he was but he didnt think so. He smiled more. "Well, I've got my two lovely ladies by me....what to do now?" He said looking at the lake, the forest, then back at them.

Sydney

At the vampire's reply, Sydney's eyes narrowed and she just barely managed to keep a low growl from coming from her throat. "This girl has a name! And the only reason I keep talking to you is because you keep deciding to give a smart a** reply to everything I say!" she replied, her tone raising just a little bit in her rising anger. "I'll take advice when I want to take it! But why the hell should you care about that or anything I do or say?" she demanded before spinning around on her heel to face away from the vampire. Only this time it was facing back in the direction in which she and Tyr had come. "Come on, Tyr. We don't have to sit here and listen to some self-absorbed idiot."

((I have to go to work now but I'll be back in around 8 hours. If you're not online when I return, Gabriel, I guess we'll post a bit tomorrow hopefully before I go to work again.))

Mio flinched as she felt the boy's cold hand pat her head. It seemed that he was finally accepting the job that she had given him. Then he suddenly bent down and whispered those words to her. I'll protect you...I promise. His words penetrated through to her, leaving her motionless for a second. It was decided; she had found her new knight. She stared out to the lake, almost in sync with him, but her gaze fixed there for a while longer. The sheer natural beauty of the water as it beautifully reflected the powerful sun sunk into her mind. It was an image of pure majesty that she would never forget. She had never seen anything quite like it. Why weren't Aaron or Alexa entranced by it like she was? Were such sights commonplace i the forest? It was imposiible; images of beauty and tranquility like that could not exist in a place that was home to countless murderous beasts. The forest was a place of fear and death. She recalled that Alexa and Aaron had been hunting something, a 'cougar'. What was this beast? They had spoken of it like it was easy hunting, but for these people, that was far from meaning that it couldn't easily tear a normal person to shreds. But if such dangers existed on land, what was there to say that even fiercer monsters lurked under the surface of the water? As the thought entered her mind, she forced herself to look away from the lake and burrowed her face into Aaron's back, frightened by where her own mind had taken her.

Aaron felt a push into his back and sighed. There was something unreal about how she held onto him. Of course he didnt mind, but it puzzled him still. He smiled with accomplishment as he finally decided on what to do. The sun was warm and beat down on the cool blue water and he softly let go of her grip on him. He set her arms down by her sides, keeping eye contact with both of them as he slipped off his shirt, exposing his icy pale chest and dived off the beach into the water. Aaron looked up at the two and winked at Alexa. "Come on in Alexa, Mio, both of you, the water is perfect," he said as he swam in circles in the refreshing cool water.

Mio watched in horror as Aaron splashed into the lake. As she heard him call her name and tell her to join him, she took a step back and shook her head side to side, her soft blue hair dancing about in the wind. But she he advanced further into the water, the distance between the two increased. What good was worrying about the sea monsters when you were such an easy target for land beasts? At least in the water, she would have Aaron...
She took a reluctant step forward. She shot a glance glance behind her and took another step toward the water. If anything was in there, Aaron would surely keep her safe from it. She looked behind her again. If something came at her from behind, would he be able to get there in time? She stumbled a few feet closer to the lake. Yes, Aaron was in there, and she should always be near Aaron, in case anything were to happen. She stepped forward. And again. She slowly continued to make her way to the water's edge, gradually gaining speed as she got closer and closer.
Mio shut her eyes tightly as her feet touched the water. She half-opened one eye, and took a second before opening the other. Aaron was right; it felt good against her skin. But still, who knew what was waiting for her in deeper waters? She hurried in Aaron's direction, about waist-deep in the lake water. She was almost near him...
The lake floor dropped off without warning. The water stung her eyes as she sank down into the water, too panicked to attempt to splash around and fight for air. She didn't know how to swim. She froze in fear, unable to move an inch.

Aaron smiled as she got into the water, and soon, she was....gone. He felt his heart stutter and felt confused for a moment. Why was she swimming if she didnt know how? He shook the thought away and dived swiftly under the water, wrapping one arm around her waist and swam up towards the surface. The shining clear surface got closer and closer and he felt the sweet air fill his lungs and held her tightly against him to keep her from struggling against the current. He swam towards the beach and ley her gently against the sand. His chest went up and down rapidly as he regained his surroundings and looked at her with firey red eyes. "Why did you do that? Dont you know how to swim?" He said, trying to not yell and kept his tone errily calm.

Mio gasped for air the moment they broke through the water's surface. She let herself hang limp as she was carried to the shore, trying to regain a regular breathing pattern. She had been startled by her sudden plunge, and and taken in quite a bit of water in one large gasp. as she was carried in his arm, she cughed up mouthfuls of water. She layed there on the sand, her petite form drenched and water, looking slightly more weak and fragile than usual. Her tail twitched underneath her, her ears drooped back with the weight of the water. The answer to Aaron's question was simple: she hadn't known that she couldn't swim. She had never really even tried it before. In response to his question, she simply looked at him with sad eyes, her head lolled over to the side. She had already been through so much in such a short amount of time; she was exhausted. From being half scared half to death by the two vampires to nearly drowning, it was more than poor little Mio could take. She stared up at him, her eyes pools of pure blue innocence.

Alexa was about to just run and jump into the water when Mio was just being brave enough to go and get into the lakes water.Alexa could feel that Mio was scared half to death.Alexa just watched Mio slowly go into the lakes water.After Mio felt safe in the lakes water,Mio had tried going farther,trying her very best to swim.Apparently Mio had drowned.

Aaron brought Mio back to the sand that was surrounding the lake.Right then Alexa was a bit scared for Mio.Alexa just felt as if Mio was her friend,their friend even though this was the first day they had met her.Alexa remembered that she could use her concentration with her eyes to make people calm or whatever their headed for.So Alexa aimed her eyes towards Mio for few seconds making her calm as usual.

Aaron looked at Mio, mfeeling a bit sorry for her. She was so...innocent, so fragile one false move could break her. He slid one hand towards her and tucked a peice of light blue hair behind her ear. "Just relax and try to breathe," he coached and watched as Alexa calmed her with her eyes. He smiled at that and looked back at Mio.

Sydney

"You haven't given me a reason NOT to call you an idiot." Syd replied flatly, turning around once again to face the vampire, rolling her eyes. This argument was stupid, and she was wondering why she even bothering with it now. "And I haven't given you my name because you haven't asked and it appears you're not interested in learning it anyway. Speaking of which, why do you care if I get hurt? You don't know me! For all you know, I could be a person who deserves to get hurt."

Tyr glanced between Sydney and the vampire. He looked a little put out and a little harried to come up with something to say before this argument turned into something more serious and someone really did get hurt.
