The witch's head came forward slightly in a small nod. She should have guessed that the painful dragging motion was of his natural state, but after being around demons with a more of a...smooth gait, the thought had entirely slipped her mind. She discontinued the interest in his predicament, and rather tuned carefully into his tale about the encounter with the halfbreed.
She wasn't sure to smile or to scowl. She was happy that the foolish man had gotten his worthless a** kicked, but she wasn't too excited to learn that it hadn't been by her hand. No matter, she decided. It would be by her power that he fell in a pool of his own blood, the last breath of life forced from his body by her grasp. She wouldn't let minor situations like this wiggle into her jealousy.
"Ah, I see," she answered, tilting her head back to throw her blank eyes to the smoldering heavens. "Lucky you, feeling his pain by your doing. I've been waiting for that chance for a while now." A frown met her beautiful mouth (odd, considering she was a creature of evil) but then curled back up into a smile. Her face turned slightly to glance again at Setsuga. "I, hopefully, will have the pleasure of ripping his arrogant head from his shoulders." One of her hands was drawn up and she flexed her claws, as if anticipating the duel already. "Yes, he really is a fool. I almost wish he were half angel, too, so that I might enjoy his death a little more."
It was ironic, given that her last statement was part of the answer to his next question. An amused smile quirked at her lips this time and her teeth flashed in a small grin, bright eyes dancing with smugness. Ah, so she had been the first demon that Saga had introduced his master plan to. It made her feel a little proud- perhaps she was even still climbing the ranks. In time, maybe, she would find herself a second in command. Perhaps.
The knowing smile was almost taunting, but as she grinned at hi, she wondered briefly if her Demon King wished for his true intentions to be known. If she shared his schemes with Setsuga, then who was to know how many other demons would find out? Then Saga would have a situation on his hands if everyone was demanding an attack sooner than he planned.
Well, he is a higher ranking demon, she thought ponderously, tapping her fingers against her upper arm again. Her eyes studied the bone demon's face for a moment, her smile slightly fading. If I could possibly trust him with Saga's intentions, then maybe it would help Saga further in preparing.
"You're right," her purring voice answered after a moment. "The Vampires aren't his main goal for coming to the surface." She paused a moment, wondering if he would take a wild guess. He might have been as baffled as she when Saga introduced the idea of an entirely alternate plan, but she knew the torture of waiting and continued in a lower, darker voice, "They are merely pawns. With them under our influence, we will be free to take the Heavens." Her fluorescent gaze flickered briefly up to the sky, and then back to the duel-souled creature's dirty face with a cruel smile.
