Welcome to Gaia! ::

Throughout all of her days of traveling and training, she had never seen anything more disgusting than a drunk. Knowing that he intoxicated himself she wanted to hit his face in when she heard a man yell out with a slight slurr for more wine. Lilith stood up and went over to the man, grabbing his collar and with little strength, picked him up off his feet. She could smell the wine in his breath and she could not help but feel sick from it. "You've had enough I believe. Please stop drinking before you embarrass yourself and do something stupid to get you hurt." She dropped the man back to his seat and turned to head off to hers. She wanted to shower so much after touching that guy. Too bad she had no room to do such a thing. She'd just have to wait it out.
Bane normally would have retaliated, but he was intoxicated beyond his limits. "Hey! You are, uh, deared alba shtimosta blah!" He slurred, falling back down into his chair. The pain of the death of his family couldn't be subdued by the alcohol. The only thing the intoxication provided was a drunken rage, making him both violent and incapable of even standing properly. He followed the woman, stumbling around, barely avoiding colliding with patrons of the pub on his way towards her. "Who jyoo think your are youu... You!" Yelled Bane as he stumbled after her. "You are- have... Dumb!" His eyes fogged over, tears welling up in their unfocused battle to see straight. "You have... No idea who I am or why I am bein' drinkin'... Unk... This way! Hey, come back! You're... Hey!" Suddenly falling to the ground, he began slamming his fists on the ground. "They're dead! But you wouldn't know 'cause you're not-... But I'm-... GOD DAMN IT!" Electricity began sparking from his hands. An unfortunate Dwarf happened to step a tad too close to his fingers and received a sudden shock. Nothing too painful, but enough to scare the small, sturdy drunk into running hurriedly to the other side of the room at a prompt, slightly stumbled pace.

"The nearest way to glory........,"

A man that looked to be around his 20s stepped into the doors of the the bar and quietly sat down at the table nearest to all the commotion. He had arrived just in time to see a young woman, looking to be around her late teens, pick up a drunk man by the collar, utter a few words to him, and throw him back to his seat. Indeed, he was atonished at the sight, but he knew that women weren't exactly weak either. He wasn't sexist, for he viewed every individual, male or female, to be equal. The room became silent for a few moments, then became uproaringly loud as the surrouding men laughed and jeered at the deeply embarrased man who was just 'punked' by the young woman. Things like this were expected to happen. It was a bar, after all.

The man who just entered the bar examined the young woman who made a fool of the other drunk man. She was definitely short, about 5 inches or a tad shorter. She looked to be a Selkie, one who wore ninja-like clothes. Well, her clothing wasn't that unusual. Most Selkies were ninja. After taking a close look at her, this man decided that she was exactly 18 years old. It wasn't that hard to find out her age, actually.

Now I know what you guys are thinking. Who exactly was this man, you ask? Well, this was none other than Lance Grand; your average Red Mage traveler! He measured 5'8'', and weighed about 170 pounds. He was 20 years old and carried around a short broadsword which was kept concealed in a sheath behind his waist. On his face was a nice pair of low-trimmed glasses that seemed to magnify his cool, tranquil nature. He wore a brown adventurer's outift that suited his personality perfectly; given to him by his father before he departed on his journey which occured two weeks ago. Without a word at all Lance remained seated, watching the events in the bar unfold before him.

"Disgusting!" Was the only word that came out of her mouth when the man had stood up and went over to her. Lilith only wished that men like that stayed home and never came out into the public. It was a nuisance as well as annoying to find them around the city picking fights. She was happy that the man fell over and giggled when his power was used on another drunk. She tilted her head and raised a brow as she stared at him, listened to his slurr and she ignored him. She had no magic abilities, for if she did, she'd definitely use Silence on him. But, she drowned him out with the noise of the bar and looked around. If you were looking closely enough, you could see she had a bit of worry in her eyes from having no place to stay for the night. But she hid that feeling well behind walls of calm emotions. Standing up, tired of seeing a buffoon make himself into a drunken clown, she left the bar and went over to find someplace to stay for the night.

A sigh escaped Lance's lips as the chaos and stupidity went on. He didn't exactly like the bar, but he didn't hate it either. Lance didn't come to the bar to fool around and start fights with huge, burly, drunk men, but instead came because of a request asked of him. He was to meet a man by the name of Leon Van Zypher. The man was part of a wealthy family, and was looking for someone to take care of a few monster-related issues. Lance, seeing as though he had nothing better to do and needed to test his strength, decided to accept his request and meet up with him at the bar. The reward only made Lance's decision of whether or not to accept the job even easier.

Lance watched as the female Selkie left the building and the drunk man rolled across the floor, uttering words that made no sense what-so-ever. Man, Lance thought somewhere inside his head, that guy was going to have a major hangover the upcoming day! A tap on his right shoulder caused Lance to stand out of his seat and stop watching the nonsense. Right in front of him was the very man he was looking for; Leon Van Zypher. The man said his greetings, which was followed up by Lance's greetings, and quickly began to give Lance a briefing on his job.

Footsteps could be heard across the roads of Barton Town. They belonged to Lance. He was headed towards the forests that bordered Barton Town, Maple Woods, for an extermination job. His job, you ask? He was to eliminate a monster that threatened Leon's crops and mansion. Every night, Leon said, the monster would attack his crops and attempt to attack his mansion. Eventually, he got tired of having to fend off attack after attack, so he decided to get a skilled warrior to take care of it. That's where Lance came in. Leon also gave Lance a description of the monster. He said it was a huge, muscular monster with purple fur, big black horns, and had the ability to cast magic. Upon hearing Leon say the description of it, Lance already knew what it was. A Behemoth.

On the way to Maple Woods, he passed by the same female Selkie from the bar. She seemed troubled. Lance could see it in her eyes. Normally, he would ask what was wrong and talked to her, due to his friendly attitude, but, at the moment, he had no time for it. Who knows? Maybe later on, he would meet up with her again. As he paced passed her, he nodded his head and said a quick and simple 'hi'. He then continued to speed down the road towards Maple Woods, gently holding his short broadsword's hilt with his right gloved hand.

The day had passed on so quickly, that was her mistake. She had waited too long, believing the inn would have a room available for her for the rest of the night. She was sadly mistaken. So, Lilith had went to the small chapel roof and sat down. The chapel was in a more secluded area so there was hardly any noise about and with it being so secluded, she'd have less trouble sleeping, knowing no one might attack her. The stars were beaming brightly and were able to be seen with ease here. She stared at them for the moment and smiled. "Alkahein City... I will be there soon and will win that tournament!" She had said to herself and rolled over to her side. The rooftops were uncomfortable, but just as uncomfortable as the grounds on the forest floor. She'd have to get used to it and tried to sleep as best she could. Rolling, tossing and turning, there was no use. She wanted a bed to sleep in. "Ugh... I need help."
User ImageAfter a few hours had passed, Bane woke up from his drunken slumber, groggy and still quite drunk. Normally, he would reflect on his behavior, but he couldn't remember anything from before he had passed out. He found himself slumped over the table in his chair, drooling on his arm as his face pressed lazily into it. Straightening himself out, he wiped himself off and adjusted his cloths. He had alcohol on his outfit, drool on his sleeve, but was thankfully vomit-free. He stood up, taking a few moments to gain his balance. He couldn't believe how he had been acting this day... Literally. A few patrons of the pub told him he has slain a dragon and shot lightning from his rear-end, and although he couldn't remember the past few hours, he was quite skeptical about a few of the things the drunks around him were telling him. He threw the rest of the gil in his pocket on the counter and sauntered out, staggering slightly, but keeping his composure far better than he had earlier in the evening. His head throbbed as he walked out into the now cool, crisp air. It was bound to be a chilly night, so he knew he should be heading to his home soon... But first...

The cemetery behind the chapel was cold, dry, yet strangely musky. Bane glided, now sure-footed, towards the far left of the graveyard. Two tombstones, seemingly perfect condition, stood at the heads of a pair of fresh mounds of dirt. He bent down onto one knee between the graves of his parents, bowing his head in respect for a minute, eyes shut as he payed his full attention to the memory of his parents. After paying his respects, he stood, looking around refreshed, the weight of the death of his parents not lightened, but now more bearable. He examined the inscriptions of the tombstones around him, the chapel walls and-... What the...? On top of the roof of the chapel was a woman. He could see her face and was able to tell that she was a Selkie. He didn't know why, but he seemed to recognize her face, like he had met her previously...

Of course he met her. Earlier that evening, in fact. He didn't realize it, but this was the same woman that had picked him up like a rag doll when he was drunk beyond mental capability. Oblivious to where he had recognized her, he called up to her, her obvious discomfort worrying him. "Excuse me!" Rang out Bane's now controlled, clear voice. "Are... Are you all right up there?" He had to head back to the empty residence that was his parent's house on the edge of town soon, but he couldn't leave without at least making sure this lady was all right. The fact that he recognized her was pestering him to no end, and he would at least like to find out where he recognized her from.

"The nearest way to glory........,"

A few moments passed by and Lance had reached Maple Woods. Taking a deep breath and letting it all out in a huge exhale, Lance unsheathed his broadsword and entered Maple Woods. The darkness shrouded him as he sped through the forests. The vegetation only made it harder for him to navigate through the darkness. So as Lance made his way through the forest, he used his broadsword like a machete' and hacked and slashed through the vegetation that made it almost impossible for him to pass through. He received a few cuts and scratches from shrubs and thorns as he walked through, making it a tad more difficult to reach his destination. But that wouldn't stop him from completing his job. Nope, nothing at all could cease Lance's strong ambitions and intentions to complete this job!

Then suddenly, like a bolt of lightning, a monster, wielding a small dagger, lunged at him! Lance was indeed caught off guard, but, thanks to his fighter instincts, he was able to avoid the worst of the attack. He suffered only a minor wound. A line of blood remained on his left cheek, which was where the monster was aiming at. It's a good thing that he evaded it, because if he didn't he would've been stabbed right in the face!

Taking a closer look at the monster, Lance realized that it was a Goblin. Wait, a Goblin? What business did a Goblin have in Maple Woods? Wasn't Maple Woods supposed to be a paradise for adventurers such as himself? Whatever the matter, Lance had to take care of the Goblin and carry on with his quest. Swiftly, Lance sped towards the unruly Goblin, dodging the dagger projectiles thrown at him, and grabbed it's ugly form. Without hesitation, Lance thrusted his broadsword right through it's chest, ultimately killing it. The Goblin fell to the ground, without a sound, and instantly died. If it didn't die just yet, then it would bleed to death. With much haste, Lance left the scene of the dead Goblin and continued with his 'mission'.

It was getting quite dark now. Very dark. It wasn't pitch-black just yet, but it would soon become so. Lance had to speed up the pace or he wouldn't be able to find the Behemoth. And if he actually did find the Behemoth and it became dark, then he would'nt be able to rely on sight to fight him, which would greatly decrease his chances of winning. Lance hurried up the pace, and then heard a roar that echoed all throughout Maple Woods and would be able to be heard in Barton Town. There was no doubting it. That roar came from the Behemoth. Lance just knew it. Upon hearing the threatening roar of the assumed-to-be Behemoth, Lance headed towards the direction of the sound of the roar.

He arrived at the assumed location of the roar only seconds later. And there it was. The Behemoth. It was standing upright on a boulder, bodies of unlucky travelers surrounded it on all sides. The stench of blood could be smelled from where Lance stood, which was percisely 50 yards away from the Behemoth. Blood was stained and smeared all over the Behemoth's masculine body and face. It was a gory sight, indeed. Lance was hidden behind a tree, which was constantly being eyed by the Behemoth. It knew that Lance was there, but it was just waiting for him to make one wrong move. Lance grit his teeth, gripped his broadsword with much might and strength, jumped out from his hiding spot, and charged towards the Behemoth as he let out a low battle cry. The battle had begun, but who would emerge victorious?

Then they clashed. The Behemoth was the first to strike, however. It smacked Lance across his face with it's menacing hands and sent him straight into a tree. Lance stood up, spit some blood out, and glared at the Behemoth with nothing but cold intentions. He had reached his cold-hearted state. This usually occured whenever he was in a fight or when he was just pissed off. In this situation, he was mad. The Behemoth seemed to guffaw as Lance stood up. This only enraged Lance even more. With a quick gesture of his hands, Lance performed his Red Mage magical ability; the power of creation and destruction. The Behemoth charged again at Lance once he began making gestures. But it was too late for the monstrous Behemoth. Just as the Behemoth took one step towards Lance, a metal spike arose from the ground and penetrated through it's torso. This was done by Lance. He created a metal spike just as the Behemoth moved towards him, which thrusted through it's torso. The Behemoth backed up, let out a deafening roar that could be heard from all over the Maple Woods and all over Barton Town, then fell to the ground and died.

Lance used his power once more to create a steel dome, which surrounded the Behemoth. Since Lance couldn't carry the Behemoth to his client, he would keep it secured underneath the steel dome so that he could come back later and show him proof that the job was done. Exhausted and slightly weakened, Lance decided to return to Barton Town. On his way back to Barton Town, Lance marked the trees with a certain mark so that he'd know which way he had to take to get to the Behemoth's dead body. He arrived in Barton Town only minutes later. He passed by the same man that was drunk in the bar earlier, and the Selkie that he also saw in the bar. The man was trying to talk to the Selkie, who seemed to be sleeping on the rooftop. Lance walked pass them both, nodded his head and said a quick 'hello'. He expected them, or at least one of them, to be a tad astonished to see the blood stained over his costume. There wasn't much blood, but it would still seem awkward. Hopefully, they wouldn't think he was a killer or of the sort. Walking at his own slow pace, Lance continued to search for the bar that he was just at a few moments ago, which was where his client would be waiting at.

((...Hey, I was just wondering, but don't you think we should have an OOC thread? So we can plot, chat, and do whatever else we see fit for the moment? It would be better than polluting this thread with OOC posts. I could create it, if you guys don't mind. So how about it?

XD. Sorry about the extra long post! I didn't feel like posting two times just to get this part out of the way, so I decided to type it all in one post! Try to read it if you can......))

Zenta tired from running all night looked around at his surronding and noticed that he was lost.Zenta looked around for a sutiable place to rest.He walked a few meters and found a nice flower bed under the trees.he then looked around for creatures that might be lurking around as he seemed not to notice any he laid down on his back and looked up at the clouds a few chirping birds flew by as his eyes slowly closed and he drifted off into dream land.Zenta awoke a few hours later,he could tell it was a few hours cause the blue sky was now a starry night. As he got up he listened closely to try to find any rush of water sound,to his disappointment he heard nothing but he did see a worn down piece of grass that looked like it could be a trail. So he walked the path of the trail until he noticed a sigh that read "Welcome to Gangaa City" as he wandered into the town he notice that a dew inn lights were still on remebering the gold coins he had he went into the cheapest looking inn he noticed a few unfriendly looking charecters , a drawf with a slight anger problem as he was yelling at the merchant saying how "in my day prices were never that high for some information."Zenta walked up to the clerk at the desk and asked "how much is a room for one night?"the clerk grinned and said "five gold coins" Zenta took out five of the seven gold coins he had and paid the clerk.the clerk smiled and gave Zenta a room key.as zenta walked up the stairs he noticed how unkept this place was but then thought "well its better than nothing"as he opened his door the room was filled with gloom and despair the sheets were grey the bed was ratty, the ground looked like it hasnt been cleaned in over seven years,But to tired to think straight he laid on the bed and nodded off.
Lilith was too tired for anything at the moment. Thinking gave her a headache when she had gone this long without sleep and it also made her irritated. She had tossed and turned, only to be sitting up, wishing for a bed to sleep in. She had then heard a voice, familiar but again not so familiar. She had looked down beneath her and had seen the same man from the bar. But his eyes were no longer bloodshot and his voice was no longer in a slur. But still, the fact that he was drunk upon meeting her and first impressions stuck to her for a long time, she grimaced at him. Lilith had hoped that this man did not come for trouble. "What do you want, you sleaze?" She asked in an annoyed tone and yawned loudly, stretching her body back and hearing her bones crack. Just then, a dark figure appeared from the alleyway and it was someone faintly familiar. She shrugged off the feeling and saw blood over his uniform and she smirked, "Beasts are fun to kill, are they not?" She asked, looking away from the first man and towards the other.

The small girl ran through the alley ways of Barton town. Her red velvet cloaked draped over her small fragile body. Only thing really visible under the cloak was her golden eyes that seemed to glow in the dark. Her breathing was in quick pants as she continued to run her feet making soft tapping noise on the ground. Seeing, as she wasn't wearing any shoes but that was besides to point. The point was why was she running and the answer was behind her. Because, running after her were three boys about the same age as her. "She went that way!" One yelled as she turned down another alley way her eyes glancing behind her.

The boys wanted the money she had on her that, she got from her house before she left. Sure, she could summon help but she didn't want to hurt anyone really. Though, as she was looking behind her she didn't pay attention to what was in front of her. Suddenly, she had run into someone hard and she fell back onto her butt. "Ouch..." She said softly as she made sure her cloak was still covering her before she began to stand up. "There she is!" The boys announced as they came running down the alley way.

Rose didn't have much time till they caught up and she looked back up at the man she had run into. It seemed he was recently in a fight because he had blood on him and it matched the color of his hair almost. "S-Sorry." The small girl said quickly before she stood up and got ready to run off again.

"The nearest way to glory........,"

As Lance walked on, he could faintly hear a voice a few feet behinds him. The Selkie atop a building's roof was speaking to him in regard of the blood on his outfit. Lance smirked in response. "Heh, I guess you could say that. But-" Not paying attention to his surroundings, Lance was all but knocked over by a girl about half his age. Lance's feet dragged across the ground and skidded to a stop. The girl stood up and apologized, then prepared to run away. Why was she in such a hurry? Well, maybe the herd of young boys a few feet away from the girl and him had something to do with it.

Lance then directed his attention to the group of boys. They were all yelling and shouting to the girl, demanding that she gives them her money. Quite disgusted at the unruly attitude potrayed by the group of boys, Lance shot a menacing glare into each of their eyes and opened his mouth to speak. "Don't you kids have something better to do rather than bother a girl for her money? Leave now, before I change my mind..." He said, gripping the hilt of his sheathed broadsword. The group of rowdy boys grit their teeth and uttered a few cursewords and threats to Lance, then left, promising that they would be back for the girl. Lance shook his head in disgust and smirked, letting go of his broadsword and noticing the blood on his outfit. While wiping off the blood and dust from his torso area, Lance spoke to the girl. "Are you alright?" He asked with his calm voice, still wiping off the dust and blood from his torso.

Rose was about to start to run again until the man she had bumped into scared the boys away. It made her smile under her cloak and she watched as the boys ran off into the distance. Relaxing now she brought her hands to dust herself off a little before grabbing her wooden staff she had dropped. Then she looked up at the man she had run into still a little nervous but, she did answer him. "Y-ya I am ok thank you umm..is there any way for me to repay you?" She felt a little bad for running into him and he still helped her.

At the same time she still kept her face hidden from view not wishing to show her pale face and her golden eyes. If anyone saw her face they most likely would know she was a Yuke and she liked to keep that a secret. She was a rare race for a reason and she would like to stay alive if she could. Even so, her eyes were slightly visible from under the cloak as she kept her gaze on the man she ran into. Her mind still was thinking about those boys along with the other people what were close by. She wasn't a person who liked to be close to others. But, this man she ran into didn't seem like too bad of a person. So, she trusted him for now until he did something that might make her think other wise.
