Septimus began to laugh as he heard Rathina and Scarlet swear their loyalty to him. How quick they were to side with him. They were fearful beings, but they were smart enough to know when the odds were against them. They were the kind of minds he needed to recreate this corrupted world. When the populace knows only terror, pure and absolute, they would never be corrupted. They would be always be 'good' and obeying.

"Calm yourself, Scarlet." He placed his hand on her shoulder and leaned in closer. He whispered "This elf wants to serve me... us, in our cause. She will be useful to us, as she fooled you and the others. She will be dealt with in the end, but that is still some time away. Tolerate her till then." He then looked back towards the Rathina. "Very well then, Rathina. Prove your loyalty. Strike down those who would plot against me. Starting with that demon! Put her in her place!"

Septimus looked towards Scarlet, then turned away from the battle. "I'm just over-joyed that you have decided to join me. When I asked your father, he refused. I didn't want to do it, but fate had forced my hand. I figured fate was out to kill all the ones I loved. But you have renewed my faith. Perhaps fate is finally on my side. I will be heading towards the village's center to recruit the survivors into my cause. You are welcomed to join me or you may stay and watch these two fight. Either way, I'm leaving now. And I am not spreading evil, dear child. It is peace that I bring to the masses." With that, Septimus once again headed towards the village's center.

Scarlett smiled at her uncle. She was kind of enjoying this.. maybe. " Uncle, you did what you had too. Don't worry about it. Father and Mother were dumb for not joining you. " Scarlet agreed. She followed her uncle to the village. "What will we do with the survivors?"

Jade flew away, tears streaming down her cheeks, and went to find Jackson and Balthier. She dreaded giving them the news, but Jade knew in the end she must.
