Septimus stopped walking when he felt the Elf's presence. He did not turn to face the Elf, but opened his mouth. "You had better be certain. Otherwise, you will receive no mercy from me. None of you will." Septimus could sense that others were gathering. They were stronger than the norm, but were still weaklings compared to him.

Scarlet read Jade's thought right away. I know, need help, she thought back. She noticed the girl was trapped and knew it was Yure. She signaled the girl to stay put and turned into her angelic form. She flew around the fire and held the girl and flew up to where Rathina was. Septimus didn't' spot her... yet.

Rathina heard Jades thought then heard the sound of Septimus voice. She lowered her bow and stepped out from around the corner "Septimus why must you destroy the things that mean to much to other people" Rathina asked in a loud voice. The thought of joining him was getting stronger since she could see what he could do. Hopefully he couldn't tell. Scarlet frowned and was frightened. Even thought Septimus was her uncle, she was terrified. She had no choice but to sacrifice herself for the others. "You guys.. move when I signal you." she whispered to them. She walked up to Septimus in her angelic form. "Hello.. Uncle." she said in a serious tone. She put one hand behind her back and signaled everyone.

What are you doing?!?!?!?! Jade said to Scarlett through thought once again. The thought of losing Scarlett right after she met was terrifying. She could not let it happen. Somehow, Jade had to stop it. She must. Even if it means sacrificing herself. " I wont let you do it! I can't!! "

Septimus turned towards the Elven woman. His eyes narrowed. "Why? Because they destroyed all I cared about first. Is it fair, that men more corrupt than I, can live such happy lives, while my world is set ablaze? I'm merely settling the score." He then grinned. "No one is safe, my dear. You've all had this coming." It was as if he had read her thoughts.

He then looked towards Scarlet. "Scarlet... so you are alive. It's disgraceful what my little brother did to you, when he found out what you were. Had things turned out differently, I would've taken you in as my own. I still can. Simply swear your loyalty to me. I'd rather not kill my only living relative."

Septimus! I would like to aid you in your fight for this. You have destroyed my home for what man did to you. I would like to help. She said not looking her friends in the eyes as she took another step closer"That is.. if you are willing to accept my aid." She said. She finally made her decision

Jade just hovered above the smoke, unable to be seen by septimus, but definitely able to see him. Then, she overheard the conversation. They were BOTH swearing their loyalty. To Septimus!! She could not believe what she was hearing!!! How could they?! Just string her along and making Jade believe that they were actually her friends. She felt so betrayed, and angry, and terrified. There was no way they could win the battle now. It was just her, Jackson, and Balthier. They were doomed!!!!!
