"Melody already knew about the arranged marriage and was sent off this morning," Maria managed to mumble out. First surprise marriage, then arguing with parents, then being late, and finally learning that you were basically the last one to find out the surprise wedding. What a day, and it was only the afternoon and yet to meet the Prince! "I hope Melody does alright," she mused. She still had to have a positive outlook for her fellow sister. And she did genuinely hope that Melody found something interesting in her prince. "Knowing her, she'd probably get out of the carriage and insist on riding one of the horses..."

They entered the meal hall where they were escorted to the fine dining table. The servants came and bowed to them, silverware already in place. Gold and silver shined off the table. Seiko and her sat down. Immediately, the food came and soup was placed in front of them. "I didn't even get to taste test the food, I'm so off schedule," she sighed, more to herself than to Seiko. She eyed the servants. "You may go away now, thank you." If you didn't tell them that, they'd stand and stare at you, awaiting the moment where a royal would ask be spoon fed. Maria would never let that happen. She was pretty sure she could handle picking up a spoon and gobbling down the meal by herself.

"Yes Princess Maria," they bowed (again - gosh, they do that so many times!) and left. Maria finally had a chance to look at Seiko fully. She's ready for her prince. "You sure have a lovely dress on, sister," Maria sipped at her soup. Hm, it needs a bit more salt, gah! If I didn't over read I would have been able to tell them this. "Are you ready for what's in store today?"

[[I think it'll pick up once the the princesses meet the princes aha.]]

The prince rather enjoyed sleep. So the fact that he was awaking right now, under normal circumstances, would not have pleased him. However, these were not normal circumstances. For one thing, Oliver was getting married.

Marriage.

What a strange word. Meaning to bond or 'marry' two things together. But, they used it with humans, too. Not just inanimate objects. So it was strange how the meaning went from something so simple to something so complicated that, unfortunately, didn't always go along with 'love' for the royals.

But, truthfully, this young man didn't really mind. He had always liked his fiance, even though they had never spoken. He'd seen her a few times, and from what he heard of the way she spoke to others, she'd be quite an interesting character. And, she was bound to be intelligent. At least, Oliver hoped she was. Of course she'd have had a proper education, but he didn't care too much for women with no minds of their own.

Sighing and rubbing his eyes in a tired manner, he arose from his bed and prepared himself for the day. His maid had lay out an outfit for him, and he stared at it, biting his lip, as if it were an opponent of some sort. Finally sighing again in defeat, he dressed.

Today he would leave the castle, the only home he had ever known, and travel to another small kingdom. To formally meet Gwen. Who he would marry. He shook his head, marriage being too overwhelming a thought, and cleared his mind.

Oliver was murmuring to himself as he went through getting dressed, eating, and all his other princely duties. Which were very few. Of course, he wasn't insane. Talking to himself was just a habit. He'd ask himself things, or reassure himself. It was really just his thoughts becoming verbal, but the servants and maids tended to question his mental stability.

Finally, he stood across from the carriage that would take him to Gorngus. Biting his lip, he forced himself to board the carriage, and, opening his book, Oliver read as he was taken to the start of something like a new life.

Sighing lightly, Athena appreciated his offer. In fact, she felt she would go with him in a heartbeat. The adventures and men he carried with him, were exactly and possibly more than she could have imagined. The action, the sights, the people. It was more than she could ever get from a book. Glancing at him, she noticed the red tinge had returned to his cheeks and he was now analysing the ceiling. Well, I guess he still has a little more to learn... She smiled to herself. Athena couldn't help but find his reactions... How did her sisters describe it... cute? "Thank you, Prince. But I couldn't leave my sisters on their own. I love them more than I do my dreams." she still spoke strongly and with confidence. But this merely masked the saddened thoughts she had. Would she really be stuck here all her life, only finding adventure in a mere book? It wasn't what she wanted, then again neither was this marriage. But she must do her duties. And Prince Vyse wasn't a bad man at all and she already knew he would be a fine partner. In fact he laboured all the traits of a hero: brave, passionate, kind, and with weaknesses. Even if those weaknesses were odd ones for a hero.

She was glad to see him notice the library, for she would want to show him her world just as much as he explained his. They stopped upfront the giant doors and he spoke. Athena was flattered by his comments, but amazing was much of an exhaggeration. To love the library was merely to be a Gorngus. Books were basically the lifesource of her Kingdom and loved by all here. It was also her mothers sanctuary as much as hers. "Your are not afraid of books too are you, Prince Vyse?" she hummed a laugh. "But do not put your intelligence down. If you have enough thought to save lives and upheld justice, then there should be no such insult. It makes you a great man." Athena was speaking her mind honestly. Though, she would never lie in the first place. Her mother raised her to be an honest Queen once she took the throne.

Finally releasing the Prince, she lay her hands on the front of her dress and glided into the library, her dress trailing upon the floor after her. She walked down glancing at the books as she went, "It's strange that you feel intimidated by books, when I feel intimidated by your adventures. For so long I've been reading others adventures, whilst you've been living your own." Athena stopped and turned her eyes back to him. "And knowledge of experience is much more valuable than study." Her lips bent as she smiled gently at him. Lifting her hand she softly motioned for him to come. "But maybe I could still find you a book you may like. What interests you most?"

So, their parents had decided to speak to Melody of this arrangement and left their other two in the dark. how loving wouldn't you say ? Pfft, of course not. That just made Seiko slightly resent her parents just slightly more. It was rather unusual for her to have so much anger towards a family member. But, today was just a wierd day. Looking over at Maria as she sat across the table from Seiko, she was completely off schedule. That was an extremely rare situation. Becaue of course Maria had an everyday schedule that ever since she was little she's had.

As the servants placed the bowl of soup infront of Seiko. She was a little bit nervous to even try it. Not having her sister eat it before her. But, as Maria took a sip of the soup she watched her facial expression. Of course, she knew exactly what she was thinking. More salt.. The younger princess merely stared at her soup and ran her spoon through it. Then Maria had made a comment about her dress. Dropping her spoon gently, Seiko placed her hands on her lap and gently smiled at her sister. "Why thanks. It was in my emergency plastic case.." Her gentle smile then turned to a malicious grin. She felt as if she had broken one of her parents laws by wearing it. But to her, this surely was an emergency !!

For what's in store of this day. Seiko didn't even know if she was ready at all. Pinching herself slightly, she wanted to see if she was dreaming. Nothing, pinch.. nothing again. Damn, this wasn't a dream. it was reality and it sucked ! Turning quickly to her sister Seiko sighed. "Sister, am I even worthy enough to be wed right now..?" She turned back to her soup and grabbed the spoon to play with it again. "I mean, I'm only young.. and mother and father have sheltered me from life.. I don't think I'm really ready for this."

The questions began to come back, and she began to voice them to Maria. "What am I to wear for this? How am I supposed to walk? What if we don't like eachother, and our marriage ends brutally !?" She was over exerting herself now and her face became somewhat flush.

                                              [ Yeah, I can't wait. x3 ]

The Righteous Hammer of Justice
Eternally Bound with My Burning Soul
Come, Embrace the Fist!

Tch, don’t say such honest comments with a face like that! Vyse followed after Athena, shoving his hands in his pants’ pockets while glancing around the library. It was big. Really big. Bigger than he thought it would be considering the size of the door. He should’ve expected it considering that this was Gorngus, but it didn’t lessen the impact in the least, much less prepare him for it. With the size of this place he felt like he could get lost far too easily and end up wandering around for hours before finding the exit, best to stick close to the Princess and not risk the chance. Tilting his head to the side when he was asked what interested him most, Vyse pondered for a moment before settling with the obvious choice, taking a hand out of his pockets and clenching it into a fist with a grin on his face. ”Justice!” He said excitedly before returning to standing upright, crossing his arms and placing a hand on his face. ”Erg… Sorry, that’s a bad habit of mine I’m not going to grow out of.” Shouting “Justice!” was just a part of his programming it would seem. No matter what the situation or time, Vyse was capable of going on long rants about justice and the nature of justice, how wonderful justice was, and just pretty much anything related to justice. All around he was a pretty bad example of a Prince, but a great example of your average run of the mill warrior with a cause. Shrugging it off, Vyse decided to return the question to Athena. ”What about you and your interests? Oh and you don’t have to put Prince in front of my name either, just call me Vyse, or whatever you prefer. Just not Reggie, I rather dislike the nickname.. Just rolls of the tongue the wrong way.”

Finally, the carriage slowed to a stop. The whole ride had been bumpy and terribly slow. And about ten minutes in, Oliver got tired of his book, distracted with thoughts. He tried sleeping to drive the thoughts away, but that didn't work, either. So eventually, the prince ended up sitting there with nothing to occupy him other than his own nervous thoughts.

He climbed out, almost afriad to look at the castle before him. When he did, he gasped. Since when had castles been so big? Perhaps he had never noticed because he knew his own castle like the back of his hand, having, you know, lived there all his life.
"Oh..." He muttered, dumbstruck.
"Sir?" asked his servant, but Oliver didn't hear him.

How the hell was he supposed to find his way around here? Now, more than anything, he wish he had his brothers with him. Then this whole ordeal would be much less frightening. But, there were off facing their own future wives.

So, Oliver stood there, biting his lip and completely unsure of what to do, and now even more nervous than before. If anyone could help him right now, he would worship them forever.

º Breaking into a wide grin as her younger sister ran off with her horse, Gwen was also relieved to not have answered her question. She hated the unknown, and this entire situation was foreign to her. So really, she couldn't have answered if she'd wanted to. Nothing was making a lick of sense these days. As the barnyard cats began eyeing her frilly dress hungrily, Gwen decided it was the opportune time to make her exit.

She strode back out into the warm, breezy air and made her way back around to the front of the castle. Maybe she'd take a stroll in the garden after getting a snack or two--she'd yet to have breakfast. To her surprise, however, she found that she had made it in time to watch yet another stranger climb from a carriage and make his way towards her home.

What was going on, here? All of this nobility and their personal guards coming to their castle, unnanounced. Then it struck her, like a quick pinch on the arm, the kind she got when she behaved in an "unlady-like" manner. They had to be them. The princes. The ones they were to be bound to 'til "death do us part". Her stomach began to churn, which meant it was time to put on a smile and act the part.

She lifted her skirts only an inch or two above the ground, and glided over to a young man who looked in distress. 'It may not even be your prince you NINNY' she thought as she approached. "Erm--Hello?" she said a bit loudly, dropping her skirts and holding her hands in front of her. She decided to find out who he was before making any rude generalizations. She'd wait to confirm he was in fact her future husband before acting like herself (and scaring him off).

Oliver had only been looking around hopelessly for a minute or two when he spotted someone coming to him. Not just any someone, either. Princess Gwenivere. Oh, of course it was her. It couldn't be a palace servent to take him to his rooms so he'd have time to calm himself down and think about actually making a good impression on the princess.

But, nonetheless, he was happy to see her. Would have been happy to see anyone. This place was so foreign.
"Princess Gwen?" He asked, smiling and bowing his head a bit. Now it was time to act like a princely gentleman. But he wouldn't go so far as kissing her hand or anything, because he wan't that princely.

He looked straight into her eyes, but in a respectful manner, hardly bold. The eyes of his future wife; eyes he would come to know well. He cleared that thought away, though. Oliver didn't want to think about their marriage right now. He would have to think about that later.

A Princess, I suppose...

"Life is not about waiting out the storm. It's about learning to dance in the rain." - Unknown

The carriage finally rolled to a gentle stop before the Leandor castle, the coachman halting the single bay horse leading it. A moment passed as a few butlers walked out to the elegant carriage, lining up along the walkway to the castle doorway. One opened the small door and swung it open slowly. Another moment passed, as those looking on waited for the Princess Melody to emerge. Finally, the hem of fancy skirts was seen coming out of the dark, followed by... Prudence. A rather unattractive woman, around fifty years old, hobbled out ungracefully, requiring a footman to lend her his arm. She looked up at the castle with a disgruntled, wrinkled face, tainted by apprehension and undeniable stress. No one else came out of the carriage, and after a moment of confused waiting the coachman flicked the horse's reins and led the carriage to the stables.

Prudence strutted up the worn steps to the castle door and spoke to a butler, who simply nodded gravely and gazed down the road again. Finally, after a few more minutes, a lone figure appeared at the end of the road, and Prudence nodded, resting her hands on her bony hips.

Melody smiled slightly as she came into sight of the castle, seeing Prudence and a multitude of servants ready to greet her, as was custom for any great lady. Well, any normal, carriage-riding, marriage-accepting great lady. This woman was not to easily labeled. Her once fine pale green dress was dusty, wrinkled, and torn on the edges from the long ride to the castle, looking like a farm wife's best dress rather than a Princess's best gown. Her tightly-pinned, long hair had come loose, letting a few auburn strands dangle haphazardly around her face. The horse beneath her was without saddle; an unimpressive beast of burden, rather than a fine steed. In other words, the Princess was far from the model of feminine perfection.

The horse came to a halt outside the castle and Melody slid off its back, alighting gracefully on the road. A stable boy came to take her mount and she turned to register the servant, nodding gratefully and smiling. The boy looked shocked for a moment, before blushing and bashfully guiding her horse away to the stables. Melody chuckled to herself lightly at his behavior, and wished Prudence had shown him the same respect. As she went to the steps a butler made a move to take her arm. She smiled slightly at him as well, gently shaking her head. "I am not yet a victim of weariness- Thank you for your consideration." The butler stepped back into his place, expression devoid of emotion. Melody then forced herself to meet eyes with her lady in waiting. Prudence's expression nearly made her wince, but she put on a brave face and scaled the steps without breaking step. The older woman muttered to her urgently, "You fool. Look what you've done to yourself. No man will want to lay eyes on you looking like-" Melody chuckled at her words and murmured calmly, cutting her off, "Perhaps that's my point." Prudence shot her a look of horror, knowing now what Melody was doing. She was going to... improvise.

Melody simply smiled cheerily at the woman's horror, tucking a stray strand of red hair behind her ear casually. She then gestured to the doors of the castle above them. "Shall we proceed?"

Maria almost flung her spoon in the opposite direction from the sudden outburst from Seiko. It distressed her to see her younger sister so distressed. Seiko was so concerned. Were these her concerns as well? She was too busy fuming over her lack of trustworthiness from her parents to think. But now thinking about it, what if she didn't like the prince? What if he prince didn't like her? She wasn't the most prim and proper princess, most of her time was spent in the library, she was bossy, did more servant chores than her own royal duties. She didn't think a prince would like that - her father (who was the King out of all people!) certainly didn't enjoy that. Could a marriage last without affection? What if he was an insolent, cold heart jerk? Who'd come in, make heirs, and leave her alone?

      ...

Okay, now she was starting to over react. She had to calm down. For heaven sake's her sister was looking at her for answers, not more questions. Maria took her napkin slowly and dabbed her mouth. "I don't know," the first time she ever said that. She was shocked that the words came out. Never - never - did she ever not have a straight forward written-in-the-book answer. Ack, she hadn't even met the prince and he was already changing her! "Anything could happen. But Seiko, you don't even have to do anything, you're perfect the way you are. Any boy - rich or poor - would take a liking to you." Wow, that was some cliche'd answer. But Maria thought it was completely true. Her youngest sister could probably charm most people. All of her family could she believed, for she loved them all.

"Besides, if you find out you don't like him, I'll help you elope with the farm boy. Because that's what elder sisters are for," she replied with a wink and a humorous smile.

Demitri looked up at the sound of approaching hooves, his golden eyes unfocused for a minute as he came out of his reading trance. Another carriage passed by, an elderly woman's face pressed up to the glass. He frowned after the carriage had passed, confused as to why someone would be so interested in the occupant of another passing carriage. Perhaps she was the servant of one of the princesses from Hemelia? Perhaps... But..he hadn't seen another female in the carriage. Or, maybe, he had just not noticed her?

The sound of more approaching hooves stole his attention, yet again, and he looked up in time to see a girl in a dress - no doubt a princess - riding on a horse. That shocked him a bit, considering that most princesses preferred to be prim and proper and clean when meeting their fiancee. Maybe she was just different, though? Perhaps...

It wasn't long before his carriage pulled up in front of the Hemelia castle. God, it was so...different. He was dreadfully used to his own castle, the one he'd lived in for twenty-one years. He knew that place left, right, backwards, and upside down. Even in the dark, he could probably find his way around! But this... No, this was so incredibly different. As soon as the carriage pulled to a stop, the coachman hopping down and opening the door. The servant he'd chosen to come with him on this little trip was a very dear friend of his, an elderly man by the name of Marquis. He didn't speak much, which was one of the reasons that Demitri liked the old man, but he was an incredibly interesting person to be around. He was one of those sweet old men that you hear about in stories, the ones that help you out no matter what. He'd been Demitri's personal servant forever, practically since he was born. Gentle and kind and endearing, it had been a hands-down choice when it had come to choosing a traveling companion.

Demitri stepped out of the coach, standing stright and tall, like always. He had always been very elegant and smooth in his movements and posture, seeming to move as if he was a ballet dancer, smooth and practiced and graceful. But, no; he'd never had a coach of any sort, other than music teachers. Golden eyes locking on the large door of the Hemelia castle, he calmly walked up the steps, assisting Marquis on his own. Marquis was dignified like that; never wanted anyone to help him other than Demitri if he offered. The doormen opened the doors for the two men, and they stepped inside.

"So, my leige, are you anxious to meet your betrothed, Princess Maria?" Marquis asked, folding his hands behind his back like he always did. He was by no means one of those short, balding old men. No, Marquis had a full head of snowy white hair and was almost as tall as Demitri, a little below six feet in height. Demitri was six feet exactly. Demitri inhaled slowly, and then let the breath out slowly through his nose, almost like a sigh but not quite. He turned to his old friend with a crooked smile.
"Yes, a bit. I'm more anxious to learn what she's like, really. If she's a 'sheep,' that won't be a very good start..."

º Gwen could have leapt with joy. He called her Gwen. Her name. Not Gwenivere, just plain old Gwen. And he said her name so nicely too! It just sounded right when he said it; like a key fitting into the right lock. He was making the best impression imaginable. She smiled brilliantly at this quiet and faintly familiar prince. She'd seen him before--she couldn't place where or when exactly, but she recognized him easy enough when he looked her directly in the eye. Maybe from a picture or something of that sort. He was rather attractive, and he had a kind face. Maybe this could work out.She almost laughed at the thought. Arranged marriages never worked out!

Being her regular, goofy, self, Gwen turned slightly took look over her right shoulder. Then her left. Then finally back at the prince. She pointed to herself, eyebrow cocked. After a moment or two, she laughed and nodded. "Yes. I'm Gwen." she smiled, stepping forward a bit more and peering into his face. "And...you are?" she said with a slightly exaggerated mask of utter perplexity. She, of course, knew exactly who he was. Prince Oliver, her betrothed.
But if there was any chance in hell of their marriage being anything of a success, she needed to know he could handle her personality-- the highs, lows, and the oddities in between. The corners of her full lips pulled into a small smirk as she eagerly awaited his answer.

Next, she would give him riddles.

Being a little more prepared for his outburst, Athena didn't waver any sort of shock and merely laughed at his enthusiasm again. She was finding them to be very amusing. But of course it was justice. Athena would have probably guessed, which is why she had a book in mind anyway. "The Sword of Shannara" by Terry Brooks. It was an old book, yes. But a classic and she was hoping he would like this one. Well, if he would even find time to read it is also a good question. He said he wasn't much of a reader and it was pretty obvious he couldn't sit still for long. Waving her hand, she shook her head lightly. "Don't apologize. Passion is always an attractive trait in anyone." she smiled and nodded. His demeanour was more of a warrior than a prince. But in a way, she couldn't be happier with this thought. Although she would never admit, she did fall in love with a lot of the hero characters in her books. And they were never princes, but rather knights or common people. She had been surrounded by stuck up royalty her whole life, it was almost a breath of fresh air.

When she heard him speak again, she bit on her lip to still a laugh. Reggie was a most adorable name and she felt it actually suited him. For he was rather adorable himself. His outbursts, enthusiasm, the informality just seemed a little correct. "Reggie..." she said slowly, more to herself than him. She tilted her head upwards as she said this and her finger now sat on the corner of her lips whilst the other arm was folded beneath it. "I don't know, it is quite cute. I also heard your guards using it." she laughed softly at the group of guards who seemed to be having fun. She spoke as if she were actually going to call him by that name. "But if you dislike it... I shall call you Vyse." Athena nodded to him. "I hope for the same then. Athena will do." The formalities had already been disintergrating a bit, so this would help also.

Turning back towards the shelves, she brought her hand up and ran her slight fingers over the spines again. She loved this feeling and looked at her books, a proudness in her eye. Sort of like that of Vyse's love for justice. Knowledge was what she drove on. "Interests? Well, being a Gorngus, you can immediately assume this here is my sanctuary." she didn't look at the Prince as she spoke, but continued to admire her families collection. She wouldn't be suprised if their library was even bigger than any of the other Kingdoms. "I guess playing the piano is something I do in my passtime too. But I do like going outdoors when I have time." she stopped and looked back at him again. "I do a little archery and fencing when I can. And when I need to relax, some Tai Chi too. As much as I'd like too, I can't sit around all day reading." she hummed an amused laugh. "Plus, it's great exercise."

Ah, she was laughing again. Hopefully this was a good thing, after all laughing was usually a sign that someone was enjoying themselves, and if Athena found his company entertaining then that was one step closer to getting over his problem with talking to women. Thinking on it for a moment, he realized he was having a conversation with her to begin with and thanked whatever deity would listen that his guards were still in the lounge, most likely chatting up a storm amongst each other and the like. No they were most likely bored, being of the same stripe as Vyse himself. Fellows who just couldn’t manage to stay still despite that being essentially in the job title. Listening to Athena speak, he respected her love for knowledge and saw the books in a different light. Well perhaps he could afford the chance to try reading every once in a while. And if he said he wasn’t surprised by the number of other things Athena partook in then he’d be lying. Considering the fact that Vyse had one and only one hobby, he found it curious that one could stick with so many others. Tapping his cheek in thought for a moment the man shrugged his shoulders with a grin. ”Archery and fencing eh? I’d love to challenge you at it, granted you’ll probably win. I’m not one for blades or bows, I tended to space out when I got tutored in it.” The young Vyse had been a tad bit adverse to learning, and highly prone to skipping out on classes. Yes, an irresponsible older brother was he, not only did he cause trouble by missing his lessons, but also went running off on his own so recklessly. Ah well, at the very least it made life far more interesting than it would have been had he stayed within the castle walls and been nothing more than an obedient child.

Glancing over at Athena for a moment, the Prince added on another comment. ”..And if you like the name Reggie so much than you can call me it. But only when we’re alone like now. I don’t mind it if you say it.” Shrugging his shoulders once more he told the truth. Honestly the name didn’t sound that bad at all when she said it. Looking around the library again he looked at some of the books in mild hopes of finding something that might catch his eye. ”I’m also going to have to meet your parents aren’t I? Lady and Lord Gorgnus? Well that’ll be tough, I left my notepad with the guards and told them to burn it too didn’t I? Tch, should’ve thought that one through, I’ll make a note of it now… Wait, I can’t.” Cursing lightly under his breath, Vyse snapped his fingers in discouragement, making a mental note that he should never rid himself of his notepad under any circumstances. Even if they were reasonably good ones. At least his own parents had taken the time to prepare and bring the proper gifts and offerings as a show of good faith when they sent their eldest son off into the Gorgnus Kingdom. There wouldn’t be any problems there.

[[Something's wrong with my post. There's an extra "Wish me luck Seiko" randomly placed in the post, but when I go to edit it, it's not in the white box. So please, ignore it until I know what's wrong. gonk Fixed. :] ]]

Maria was glad she was done with her soup (bland, bland soup. She'd never let her schedule be ruined again!), for more servants arrived at the meal hall. One came and bowed. "Excuse me princesses, but a carriage has just arrived. Prince Demetri of Magnisius is here." Maria's hand suddenly went to her bust, her skirt, and then her hair. Ugly, ugly, and even more ugly!

Damn, he's already here and I completely forgot to get dressed! The clothes she was wearing now were only for her comfort. When you're rushing around the castle in a specific time and destination, you hardly have time to put on a corset and a heavy gown dress that all in which weighed roughly 50 pounds!

"A-ah, yes, thank you, I shall give them a proper greeting." Maria got up, touching her face, her hair (Oh dear her - what a mess it must look!) It was so hard for Maria, who was usually clean and pin straight in everything. But today's disastrous events and surprises made her not care. If only she would have stuck to the plan this would not be happening! This was so unlike her, and in truth it was scaring her. "Wish me luck Seiko."

She could only pray the prince looked just as horrid. Then she wouldn't feel so bad being unkept (ugh, how she loathed that word!). Maybe if she went back into the library and sunk her head into a book people would mistake her as a commoner and not -

"Maria darling! Is that you?" Oh no. The Queen. Her mother rushed down the hall towards her. Maria tried to sink into the floor. "You're not dressed properly," a frown was etched on her lips. "I know, my schedule was completely thrown out the window today your Highness." As though that was a perfect excuse. The Queen was about to take her hand and lead her towards the front gate, but Maria avoided it. "I'm fine." A total lie. Oh well.

The doormen greeted her, bowing. She managed a smile - oh she really tried to put on a happy face. Please let him be in the same predicament as her, please -

I suddenly wish to die right now

Damn. The first thing she saw was those golden eyes. Damn. They glowed and she suddenly felt like she had to grip something to steady herself. Was that normal eye color? Maybe they just looked that way because of the fine golden threads in his outfit - oh no! His outfit looked so fitted and gorgeous. But, there was something that bothered her...

He had an obnoxious white thread on his shoulder. No really, it bothered her. How could he have missed it, it's so huge! To her it was as if it was put on display! It stood out so much with what he was wearing. No, you're being nitpicky Maria. Besides, like she had any room to talk now.

"Uh, yes, it's a pleasure meeting you Prince Demitri. I'm Maria." She didn't even bother calling herself a Princess. The title was not earned at that moment. Maria curtsied, trying not to look at his shoulder. But it was so distracting! Whatever he said next, she couldn't concentrate on.

She couldn't help it. So she decided to reach for him and pluck that sucker thread right off him. There. Now he looked stunning. Perfect. Maria couldn't help but smile, - a real, genuine smile that day - but only for a split second before her mother gave her the 'what-are-you-doing?!' look. "Um, my apologizes, you had a thread on you and it was bothering me rather so..." she mumbled.

Yes Maria, he probably thinks you're strange now.
