The Guards of F.E.A.R.
Buck sat at his place in the command center of the FEAR guard station deep within the heart of the facility. The large triple locked door behind him glowed slightly while the barriers were up. The light was lost in the light of the many tv screens showing the feeds from the thousands of cameras. Dozens of guards just like him sat before the array, headsets on and in constant contact with patrols in the hallways. The guards took their job very seriously. Atleast the ones on duty today did. Buck's eyes roamed from screen to screen looking for anything out of the ordinary. Scientists milled about, guards posted outside doors, empty high security rooms. An experiment being sliced open by a training robot. Another being strapped, screaming, onto a medical slab where it would undergo some sort of horrible test. Nothing out of the ordinary. Except. There. It wasn't a shimmer as one would expect from an 'invisible' creature. The experiment was outlined in infrared. The camera automatically switched to the heat sensing program when the visual failed to detect the source of heat. An experiment, alone. No guards. An escapee. Buck's hands moved in a blaze, typing out command overrides and summoning a trio of guards to the position. He backtracked, following where the experiment had gone and watched her sneak out of a isolation cell. "Be warned, the subject was under isolation. The use of force is authorized."
Marcus nodded as he glanced to the camera along the wall. "Understood." He waved his team forward and racked his carbine, readying a round into the chamber. He wouldn't take any chances. The riot was still fresh in his mind after all. He had the gun at the ready as the handler guided his team to the right hallway. A scientist's room. s**t. Well, he'd protect the scientist. With extreme force. The door burst open as Marcus slammed the shoulder of his armor into it. A moment later, he had identified the target, found the scientist and the butt of his rifle slammed into the side of Sateen's head, dropping her to the ground. The other two members of Marcus's team moved in and stood infront of Dario, their guns at the ready if Sateen broke free from Marcus. She was down but not permenantely. Marcus used his carbine like a bat, brabbing it by the barrel and slamming the stock against Sateen's leg, breaking the bone in her shin with a resounding crack. He flipped the gun around once more and aimed it at her face, his finger on the trigger. "Stay down!" He hadn't given her a chance to speak. It was all over in a few moments. If she made any sort of aggressive move, she would be shot. Not just from Marcus, but from the two other guards. There was no way to dodge in this small room.
