▂ ▃ ▅ ▆ █ TThis is no finding nemo, no little mermaid. This is the story of something known for being a myth. Everybody has heard of mermen, more have heard of mermaids. But does anyone actually believe in such creatures? Are they really as unreal as the Cyclops and unicorns?

So you are probably asking where this story is going. Well this is where everything changes for five everyday people. A teacher, a pet shop keeper, a child of eight siblings, a professional artist and a lawyer. Each of them didn't know that when they visited the beach, all for their own special purposes on the twenty-fourth of December 2009, five other 'people' would also be there, expecting no company, also there for their own reasons. But these weren't the normal people, for half their bodies were covered in scales, blues, greens, purple, brown, the colour of their hair matching. A long tail, twice the length of their torso, split at the end just like a fish, dolphin, and seal.

When these five humans see the five mermaids/men, what are their reactions going to be? Aren't these creatures meant to be myths, like the loc ness? Surely they are dreaming, imagining things? Had someone slipped them some drugs? Were the drunk on this Christmas Eve? That's your choice, you are the one with the keyboard controlling your character wither it be mermaid/man or human.

everybody knows to follow the TOS otherwise you will get yourself and me in trouble.
sex and drugs and rock and roll is allowed, just please time skip if it gets a bit too bad.
swearing is fine with me, just don't say '********' every other word and please don't use the 'c' word.
i know that sounds stupid but i absolutely hate it and have been known to kick people out
of my previous roleplays when they used it after being warned multiple times.
if your character is known for getting angry then that's fine, i am not going to shout at you
for beating each other up, just don't go giving everyone a black eye all because they stole your
characters new pair of socks.
also if a fight does break out and you are planning on hurting a character other than your own then
ask the owner of that character if you can injure them, i don't want complaints because people
have broken another characters bone and that person didn't want their character hurt so badly.

as stated in the firt post, i am expecting this to be a literate to advanced literate roleplay.
like most people, i enjoy reading and having something to read that will interest me.
you might be able to write fifteen paragraphs but if there is nothing in there for anyone to
respond to then it's going to get really boring and you might even be the reason for the death of this roleplay.
i was proper or at least grammar that makes sense and as for spelling, i understand you getting
a few words wrong but if it starts getting stupid i will begin to moan.
most people have 'microsoft word' on their computer or another program that contains a spell check
name your reservations mermaid or merman depending on which character. even if it is human call it
the appropriate fishy creature depending on its partner.
so please use it and do not make me squint at your writing to try and figure out the point of it.

i want real people for your characters, this means no animated characters like final fantasy
and definitely no anime or drawings. for the humans you can use any people you wish from a normal
boy/girl next door to a crazy tattood and pierced gothic person who would scare small children.
this is different for the mermaids/men because as we have seen from myhtical stories, they aren't
just normal looking people. i am not expecting you to find some terrible cosplay picture with a mermaid tale
but i am expecting you to use people that are maybe pierced and tattood like crazy or have unusually coloured
or styles hair. just make them look like someone who if you saw them walking down the street, you would
more than likely turn and take a second glance at. i do not mind you using scene or emo people, this
is probably going to be likely for the mermaids/men due to crazy hair, piercings etc.
i don't want you to use any celebrities, especially not annoying disney brats who need to be shot.
you can use musicians but not someone like gerad way, pete wentz or people like that. if you use someone
from a band make sure not everyone in the world knows who they are. in other words be original with your choices.

please pm me your profiles with the name of your character followed with what creature they are.
if you are going to join this roleplay then i beg you to post at least three times a week minimum.
i understand that most of us have lives and sometimes become busy, if that is the case, then please can you tell me
so i can inform the others and tell them to either be patient or move on to more active characters
until you return and get back in to the action.
if you know you are incapable of posting regularly then please do not even bother reading on from here
or sending me a reservation or anything. i really don't want to have to wait days for you to post
when you have promissed me (by sending me a reservation) that you are capable of being a frequent poster.
▂ ▃ ▅ ▆ █ characters and other
if you have chosen to be a mermaid then i expect you to stick to what you expect a mermaid/man to do.
this means that i don't want them to touch land and legs appear, this is not going to be that magical
there is also no cure for them to turn human because obviously, the people who discover them keep it a secret
for everyone apart from each other. it is your choice to chose how they know or meet the other humans
this is the same for the mermaids/men. some may be relatives, others might be enemies or even school friends
the relationships where the mermaids/men come from are going to be the same as humans. they can fall
in and out of love, be friends, enemies and so on. their personalities will be those of humans and no, no magic
apart from the fact they have half the body of a sea creature.
as for the humans, you are human, not a magician or anything else like that. i purposly didn't put what
type of teacher the teacher will be because you may chose to make him/her a science teacher and try
to find a cure. i hate to tell you, but they will not succeed however it will be fun to read and see if they try or not.
all characters must be within the age gaps that is stated in the reserve.
▂ ▃ ▅ ▆ █ respect and discrimination
in the pairings i want mermaid 1 to meet human 1, mermaid 2 to meet human 2, merman 1 to meet human 3, merman 2 to meet human 4.
if you look at the genders this means that two females will be paired and two males.
so, although these pairings do not have to stay like this after everyone has met each other, it gives the option
for one lesbian and one gay relationship, more if you chose for this to happen. there are two hetero pairings
if you are more comfortable with that however i do not mind which pairing you chose. i won't complain
because you chose a male/female relationship. i am not going to jump to the conclusion of you being a homophobe.
