Pride treated her to a vampire grin. "Kiera, Kiera, Kiera. Where's the fun in doing that?" He paused. "Don't even bother stalling, Kiera. If one of the dragon riders comes within a two miles of here, their powers will start to disappear. Temporarily, at least. I haven't figured out how to make the effect permanent. Can't you feel it?"
Kiera winced. This was going to make killing Pride a lot harder.
