Raven watched as everyone gave their input regarding the festival. Then, he watched as Jay turn to him and ask if he was going. Of course, Raven wanted to go and have fun, but if he had too much fun, then it may get out of hand. A shrug of his shoulders and he was frowning. "If you're willing to put up with me chickening out in a very large group of people, I'm game." This was an excuse for not wanting to go. His left arm started feeling warm. It needed some kind of breather or else his cloak would burn like the last cloak he had.
He recalled it as if it was yesterday when he was in the marketplace in another city and his left arm was burning up. Oddly, Raven didn't notice the change in heat until the last minute when his whole body felt cooler than before. It was then that he looked at himself that he realized his left arm burned up his cloak and the cycle of people driving him out once again took effect. Another downside of his arm was that it can't stand being wrapped up. It's like it's alive and it needs air as much as the next guy, so it can't stay wrapped for too long. Right now, Raven noted that it can still last for a few more hours. Hopefully, it was enough to let him get away from everyone else before they found out about his left arm.
An embarrassment it would be to have to be kicked out of something he wasn't even part of yet just because of his imperfection. It was to be expected if they were going to throw him out the second they found out about his arm. Price's sigh caught Raven's attention and then he glanced up to realize Jay wasn't around. All Raven could do at that moment was sigh himself and try to imagine what would happen at the festival. The problem was that he couldn't even recall what happened during the festival, so his mind felt utterly blank at the moment.

Lisa walked down the path to the Tower of Hope. The weather was absolutely beautiful for such a cold December day. She could still hear the sparrows chirping as they bounced around looking for food. She always wondered why the sparrows loved the snow so much, not that it was snowing, but you could tell that they were ready for it to fall. Her smile grew wider as she reached the tower, every time she saw it, it was more breath taking. To think that her skills and loyalty had given her such a place of honor was more than she could ever dream of. As she walked into the building, she was stopped momentarily and asked for her mark. They were made to let others believe that it was on their arm, having it covered with the band, but truthfully, she believed everyone's mark was place in a different location because hers truly wasn't on her arm. Slowly, she pulled up her hair, and moved her ear forward so the small mark made in the tiny space between her ear and her neck, which was always covered with her hair, was visible to the guards and they allowed her in. She wasn't quite sure why the mark needed to be kept secret, but she wasn't about to test it.
Sapphire jumped for joy as Price stated that they were going. "We're going! We're going!" She could help singing to herself as Jay jumped as well. Before he could bound out of the door to pack, Sapphire quickly grabbed him in a tight hug, spinning him around while still singing her happiness about the festival. She couldn't help the overwhelming feeling of joy she was having at the simple fact that she was going to the Festival of Lights again.
Jed clenched his fists as Daryn made the comment about Lisa sleeping her way to the top. Lisa was no floozy, and she definitely wasn't sleeping around. He was more than ready take another go at him, until Daryn announced that he'd like to go to the festival, just to tick Jed off. Jed felt the dread come over him as everyone agreed to go against him. This was unexpected. Maybe if he would've waited until Daryn answered first, the response would've been different. The Festival of Lights had always been something that he and Lisa shared together. He wasn't sure how he was going to tell her that he couldn't go with her now. She had been looking forward to this all year, just this morning making him promise that he wouldn't go without her. He most definitely couldn't be seen there with her with all the rebels walking around. This was quite the predicament he found himself in. Well, maybe he could go up there with her, and then find a reason for them to have some separate time for him to meet up with the rebels and then come back to find her later. That could possibly work.
Daryn was quite happy that even though it was a small victory, he had won the last argument over with Jed. They were going to the Festival. In a bit, it was a shallow victory because he didn't really want to go. He didn't like being around all of those people. He had only ever been to the Festival once, and while he had enjoyed it, he couldn't deny that it was unsettling to be around so many people at one time.
