"Well imagine this," Tao settles into a light story telling voice. "We live in Schools, or I guess Tribes would be a better word. These tribes are constantly coming together, mixing and splitting appart. Durring one of those times when the tribe comes together two may find themselves attracted to each other. They go off together, have fun, perhaps even children. But we live for so long that we eventualy get bored with spending our time with one individual. We come back to the Gathering and find someone else, or a different group." He looks at her. "Do you understand? Because of our long lives, there is no real concept of 'love' in a Mer relationship.

Lucis slowly woke in the park. He slid off the stone table that was off the ground as he moved out of the small cave he had erected. His eyes widened a bit as he saw the cherry blossoms around where he was sleeping had turned a nasty brownish black. A purple hue had come to them, making the area glow a very unsettling color. The ground had become like ash and vines had grown all over as a sort of gate. "How interesting." He commented.

Elvy nodded, understanding what he was saying, but having trouble imagining a life without love. Or even without the possiblity of love.
