Toshi laughed when Jiro was caught up in traffic, but he slowed down just a bit, to keep the fun going. This was interesting, he figured Jiro knew it was him by now. Not many people were bold enough to do this to Jiro Takada, and Toshi was one of the few brave and or stupid enough to do it. He noted Jiro's detour and bit his lip to keep from laughing more. He never would have guessed that running from a stubborn headed police officer could be so much... fun. He made some sharp turns once the bridge ended, just to keep Jiro on his toes. Toshi even slipped into a double wide alleyway, bursting out in the next street over, almost slamming into the side of a car he thought looked familiar... hey, it was Steel in his own car. Toshi laughed and yanked the wheel away so he was partially driving on the side walk. The good thing about this city was that people rarely walked anywhere in the open because it was always too dangerous.

All good things must come to and end though, and sadly, Toshi had wasted his supply of fuel on the last little excursion. "Awww, game's over for now Ji-kun~" he giggled as he coasted to a stop infront of his apartment building. He rolled down the window and turned the ignition off, holding the key out the opened window to show Jiro that he wasn't going anywhere else.

"Don't Thank Me. You're Next."

Jiro managed to jerk his car to the opposite railing and straight into oncoming traffic when Toshi made a sudden turn and down the sidewalk. Jiro cursed softly, thanking the city's crappy danger prevention that no one was out, walking about. Even though the chase was an exhilarating one, Takada couldn't help but make note of every misdemeanor Toshi was making. The list grew and grew till Jiro himself thought he was going to forget but finally the chase seemed to stop. Making a U-turn, Takada parked his car across the street.

He eyed the jingle of keys hanging out the window. He crossed traffic carefully and came over to the marked car, leaning against the frame. Window open to expose the keys themselves, Jiro took and pocketed them just in case. He also reached inside, unlocked the car door, and opened it, hauling the raven-haired man out of his seat. Jiro said nothing as he steered the man to the front of his car and pushed him against the warm metal of his car's hood like he was about to arrest him. But Takada flipped Toshi over and pushed his black bangs out of his face, to look at those eyes he had taken to remembering so well.

"I've probably already figured it out, but I'd like to hear it from you, Song. Why'd you do it, and why the Hell didn't you tell me?"

Jiro didn't look or sound angry but his voice held a commanding tone, wanting answers as to why Toshizo didn't tell him about his fake death.

When Jiro took the keys from him, Toshi just chuckled and let himself be dragged out... until Jiro pinned him to the hood of the car. He was about to say something when the other flipped him over and just stared at him. Oh god, those eyes seemed to boring into his mind. Toshi felt his face get hot when Jiro simply asked him why. He looked off to the side, a slight smile still playing on his face. Before answering though, he looked back at Jiro. "I had to make it believable, no didn't I?" he said, head cocking to the side. "And I knew you were the officer who'd make that possible for me." Since Jiro knew already, Toshi figured that he'd just continue and tell Jiro the truth about it all... well, maybe not everything.

"I did this because Toshizo Song's going undercover for good. This city's too dangerous to go undercover when the whole underworld's got you on their hit list, do you agree, Ji-kun?" Toshi laughed but didn't make any moves to get out from under him. "I had a feeling something big was about to happen. The police don't know nearly as much as a prostitute can figure out from his clients. So, I figure, if a small time criminal knows this much... how well informed is a lowly insider?" Toshi looked up at Takada, not smiling anymore but with an imploring look. "Now that you know what I'm up to, you've got me pinned. You can haul me into the station, which mind you would suck, at least until the federal agents came... or you can do something else, what ever you want really."

"Don't Thank Me. You're Next."

The younger officer contemplated on the explanation, not seeing a reason for Toshizo to be lying to him now. He glanced to the side, thinking it over, but looked back when the other gave him the option to do whatever he wanted with him. Jiro's eyes narrowed but he smirked almost dangerously. He looked up at the apartment they were parked out in front of. "Do you live here?" he asked. When Toshi nodded his head, Jiro huffed, trying to keep his serious face on as he stepped off of his commanding officer.

The space divided between them was short lived however because Jiro was at his side once more as soon as Toshizo was on his feet. He knelt forward fast, and stood back up, his arms looping under the man's legs and back, holding him to his chest. "It's hard to say if you're lucky, Toshizo Song. Because of traffic, commandeering you and heading back to the station is going to be one big hassle with lots of paperwork. Therefore, I'm declaring you under house arrest. Your charge? Me." Jiro was carrying Toshi up the stoop, bridal style. "While you have the right to stay silent, I suggest otherwise. No attorney will be assigned to you unless I say otherwise. And from the looks of it, I think you're heading straight to your sentence without a chance at parole. Do I hear any disagreements?" he asked with a smirk as he leaned forward to open the door.

Toshi allowed himself to be picked up by Jiro and he listened to his 'sentence'. He laughed and wrapped his arms around Jiro's neck to help support himself. "Ah~ I'll most certainly try to contain myself. And I don't know if lucky even begins to cover it." he winked at Jiro and kissed the other's neck as far up as he could reach. "It's apartment 13-B, and no Ji-kun, you have no objections." He smiled and bit his bottom lip, hugging his head onto the other's broad shoulder as they ascended up.

Being carried like this up to his apartment made him think of a wedding, the way the groom carries his bride away. The idea was entertaining. Standing outside the door, Toshi fished his apartment keys out of his pocket and lead one arm away form Jiro to turn it in the lock. "It's not much, but hey, this is supposed to be punishment, no?" he laughed, pushing the door open the best he could. It opened up to a nice, clean little apartment. Toshi giggled as Jiro carried him off into the hallway, away from the front room and the rest of the world.

Sure, as Law, he'd never have the status of an officer, he had to be twice as more careful with what he did and he couldn't be seen with Jiro, but at least he had freedom. Toshi didn't care, he choice to do what ever the hell he wanted to now... and as long as Jiro kept close and Toshi kept even closer, he couldn't complain at all.

He watched the boy seemingly aimlessly stand up and look out the window. Koneski couldn't fathom a reply to Yuran. It just seemed all too hopeless... until the small boy smiled at him. Suddenly, he felt like he could do or try anything. If a child, who lived for so long on the streets, could still smile like that, still have hope left, ask someone who hurt him to be loved... Then Koneski could surely try to fufil his wish. He could do something to change this city.

"Thank you, Yuran. Today, in these few moments that I've known you... you've taught me more than I've ever learned, anywhere... And you've shown more love to me..." he hugged the boy one last time. Koneski knew that it would be his last time seeing the boy, but in a way that was okay. That meant that Yuran would be safe somewhere, and hopefully, he'd find love and happiness... although Koneski doubted he'd find a place where he wouldn't.

Sting opened the penthouse doors and twitched at the sight of the two of them. He grabbed Yuran's shoulder and pulled him away out the door. Yuran looked back at Koneski and smiled. He held up his pinkie and dissapeared behind the wooden doors with Sting.

For all the reasons above, Koneski let a few tears drop. He had known the boy for maybe an hour at the most, but Yuran had definately made the biggest impression on him. Shown him love he didn't deserve... and expected great things from Koneski, which no one did. He promised not only himself, but to Yuran too, that at that moment, he'd stop wallowing in self pity. He'd learn to live, and let go of things. Maybe even forgive himself, but not yet, that'd take time... But now, he realized sitting there alone in the penthouse, rubbing his ankle, he had all the time in the world.

            And he smiled.

Every thing was going according to plan. Nothing seemed to have fallen through yet. Bryce and Hawks were awaiting him at the bridge. Ten p.m. ticked closer. It was 9:50, Jack King and Vektor Brovlovski would arrive at any moment. Sting had taken special precautions that his meeting not be broken up, even so far as to have traffic directed at the smaller bridges. No matter, not many people crossed the Bronx this late at night anyway. Yuuen stood with his head held high. There was fear on his face, but more than that. Somehow, he boy had changed. Chris didn't know how he had, but there was just something so different about him.

The four of them stood on the bridge, waiting. Who would show, who wouldn't? Yuuen seemed to know something he didn't know about tonight... but who cared? The brat would be gone soon. Sting was sure that he'd be killed after the trade off, after all, he was the reason that the two men were called out into the open. How stupid of grown men to be so fond of such weak little things?

Vektor walked out as soon as his watch beeped 9:50. He almost resembled his usual facade all those weeks ago, dressed in rich attire, dark coat covering his shoulders now. There was no way he'd go outside in the cold only wearing the thin white shirt and vest. The heavy feel of his case against his back was what kept his head up, eyes ahead of him instead of the ground. In his mind, his plans, words, actions, all repeated in his head like a broken record. Though there were variable that couldn't be predicted, he knew one thing for sure. That Yuran was leaving with him.

A frostbitten breeze blew across the cement streets, causing all civilians to lock themselves inside for the night. A perfect night for a settle transaction between two Crime Lords. Even as his chilled bangs brushed against his face, Vektor never hesitated in his steps. This had been one thing he had been sure of in a long while. By the time he had reached his destination, the city's clock had chimed for 10 PM. And there, like promised, stood Sting, Yuran, and two other men. And Vektor faced them all alone. "I'm here as requested," he said over the hollowing wind. He stood a good seven feet away, not stupid enough to get too close. Vektor glanced at Yuran, and tried not to keep his eyes on the boy for too long. If at all, he tried to ignore Yuran's presence in this matter, facing straight at Chris. He couldn't be weak now.

Sting cocked a smirk as the Russian stepped closer. He grabbed the sweater clad boy closer to his side making the boy whimper. Bryce and Hawks both took a step forward when the Russian stopped. "So, you're the only one bold enough to show tonight then, Brovlovski." Sting nodded approvingly. His hand was firm on Yuuen's shoulder, but the boy refused to awknowedge it. Instead, he looked off to the side.

"One more was supposed to be meeting with us tonight, but the late Jack King won't make his appearance." Although his tone sounded regretful, the malice on his face was enough to tell you he enjoyed playing games. "Tonight, I was originally just going to ask you for your cooperation, to join up with the Bullets, Vektor Brovlovski, but now, I'm going to make you another request to you... Not as the weapon's dealer you so pose as, but as the gang leader of the Chained." The wind seemed to become more chilled than before.

Yuu was cold. He wasn't dressed in anything really warm, they simply allowed him to wear the clothes he had packed away in his bag, his jacket somewhere in the vicinity of the warehouse. They gave him his gun, unloaded, and his cellphone turned off. He shivered on the bridge waiting to see what would happen. He looked up at Sting who had an unfaltering smug look on his face. How well trapped did he think he had Vektor? Did Sting not realize what Yuran would do to keep the Russian safe?

Then he appeared. Out of the cold wind and snow. 9:50 he started walking towards them. How slowly ten minutes crept by. Yuu jumped when the clock struck 10. It was time now. He knew Jack wouldn't show. Jack was somewhere else already, he had already gotten his wings. Yuu looked at Vektor and tried to read him, but quickly looked away. The Russian's face was etched with dislike, and while he knew it wasn't directed at him, it still made him nervous to see that look on a face he trusted. That was how the city was though, so he didn't say anything. Simply looked to the side when Sting held him closer. The only good thing about that was it made him warmer too.

He stood there silently awaiting the grownups to finish their business, hopefully at the end, with his life intact.

I was a child who didn't suspect anything
Biting my lips tightly to endured tears
To laugh that I've gotten stronger.
Please, tell me that the warmth of your hand isn't a lie
Call my name in a gentle voice don't leave me alone anymore
Now even though I cannot see you
You're always there for me
Your kindness melts into the sunshine
Happiness never ends, and it stays with me

Burried in your arms playfully on the bed is how I want to sleep once more.

On the day that we're fated to meet again,
Just smile and pat my head.
I'll always dream in this little place,
waiting for the day when you'll draw me close once more

The Russian raised a brow when he heard that he wasn't the only one that was supposed to show up. Had he been set up? But upon revelation, it was Jack himself who was supposed to show. Vektor's eyes narrowed slightly, almost unnoticeable. After hearing what Toshi had told him, he didn't want Jack anywhere near Yuran. And it seemed that his inner resolve would come true when minutes ticked passed and still no one else came into sight. Vektor eyes the two men standing near Sting. They were the only things ensuring that Vektor would play nice for now.

    "Spit it out already,"
he said agrivatedly. He knew that he would never join the Bullets, even if Sting had something to force him into the agreement. Yuran, was the only bargaining chip in Chris' possession. And when the boy was back with him, all bets were off. But the white haired man kept his cool, hands curling and uncurling in his pockets. Vektor seemed unphased by Sting's offer of intel at revealing Vektor's true identity. Once Jiro Takada had figured it out, he knew that everyone else would have sooner or later.

He pulled out his gun and held the metallic tip to Yuuen's head. He smiled at Vektor still. Yuuen froze up, he felt the small shoulder stiffen. "I want you to get out of the city. As much as I need a good weapons boy, I can't really afford allow another rival gang leader to continue exisiting while I rise up. They might be the one to knock me down." Yuuen tried to pull away from Sting, but he held onto him tighter, burring the tip in the boy's soft hair. "I'll keep the boy, Brovlovski, and as long as you stay away, he'll be safe."

This was all too much for Sting, it was quite funny. To watch the slight changes in the man's features. Vektor looked young and he couldn't be much older than 22. Tch, such impudent youth. "So, what do you say? I let you go scott free, the boy lives happily, how does that sound to you?"

Crimes of Passion NPC | Bullet Thugs | The Broadman Brothers

Bryce stood his ground when the two began to talk, face neautral but menicing at the same time. The truth was that he couldn't wait for this to be over. Abigale was safe and all he had to do was pick her up from the safe house... as for his sons... Well, let's just say not everything tonight was going to go as planned. Originally, once the boy was handed off, Hawks and Bryce would both jump Chris for selling his sons, but when the gun was raised to the boy's head, they had to step in. Bryce was not going to let someone else's child die for selfish adults, even though he had done horrible things to him, it didn't stop it from gnawing at the edges of the man's concious.

Bryce and Hawks both pulled guns out and pointed them at Sting. "Sting, let the boy go now." he cocked the hammer and kept it aimed at him. "I agree to a hell of a lot of things for you Chris, but tonight you just pushed me over the edge. You give the kid up and you'll be escorted back to your cozy little house and live. I can't let you take him." Chris raised his eyebrow at the man. "Are you sure you want to do this?" he said darkly. Bryce didn't falter. "I'll give it my best shot." Hawks mirrored Bryce and cocked his hammer now too. "Give him the kid Chris."

The man raised his hands and let his gun dangle by the trigger on his thumb. He stepped back from the boy, a nasty look on his face. "Fine. Take the little b***h. Remember, if I see any of you around... It might be the last time you're walking." He backed up into his sleek black car and drove off. Apparently Chris knew when he was defeated. The man would rather live to see another day and have another shot at the city than die just handing off a kid. Bryce gently pushed Ace towards the Russian. "Go. Before I figure how stupid I'm being."

With the gun to his head, Yuran knew that Vektor would just give up. He had to unless he wanted to see him shot in the head. Why did Chris drive such a hard bargain? Yuu closed his eyes and waited for either the bullet to hit, or the sound of Vektor's footsteps walking away... until he heard a different kind of noise.

He stood between the two men as they went back and forth about him. What made his man change his mind about him? The man who had assulted him earlier... was he speaking in defence of him? It happened quickly. Sting let go of him and retreated, then the man turned to him, told him it was okay to go.

Yu looked up at the man, then smiled. He nodded and wiped his eyes. He bowed his head slightly then turned and ran the seven feet to the man. "Vektor!" He jumped at the man and held on to him tightly, tears of fear, happiness, and relief running down his face.

    [[Perfect Ending Song]]

Vektor blanched at the ridiculous offer that was made to him, not expecting on hearing Chris keep Yuran. What would he want with the boy? The Russian tried to open his mouth to argue but was quiet instantly when the body guards step forward suddenly, pointing guns at their Boss. Vektor took a step forward, but paused. It seemed to get Sting's attention as well because the man backed down instantly. If he had to, Vektor would have pointed a gun at him as well. He watched the man slink off to his car, driving away. It was then that the Russian exhaled, his square shoulders sagging around the edges. It was a miracle, plain and simple. The offer Chris had proposed had been nothing but ransom to get Vektor out of the city.

The tension and anxiety of the whole hostage situation had been unnerving and exhausting. He ran his hand through his hair but his arm was suddenly knocked out of the way by a flying leap at him. "Y-Yuran!" Vektor stepped back by the force but didn't topple over thankfully. It would have hurt something fierce to land on his case. His arms wrapped around the boy, keeping him pressed again. He hugged the boy dearly almost as if he was his own. "I'm so glad you're safe. I'm sorry I couldn't get you earlier." Vektor had seen those pictures and couldn't imagine how Yuran was managing even smiling at him, much less hug him. He cradled the boy in his arms, nuzzling his face against the top of his hair. Gone for a few hours and bad things had happened. "I promise never to leave your side again," he whispered.
