Turn up the music

She was fidgeting again; pale fingers strumming against the top of her book, teeth clenched, green eyes shifting from side to side, and feet flat on the ground as if she were about to spring into the air and take off at any moment. Yeah the girl looked like a nervous wreck compared to her friend who lay sprawled out on the schools lawn. Her arms were open as if ready to greet an embrace, and her golden eyes were closed as she enjoyed the shade of the large oak towering over her. "Baeli, I thought we were going back to class."

The young girl's nose cringed at the thought of returning to the large gymnasium filled with squealing girls and laughing boys, their sound amplified even more by the echoes and the strange deformity she seemed to have picked up a month ago. After that dream. Baeli hated the girl in white after the first week when she realized that the nighttime fantasy turned out to be fact. The golden eyes opened and she tilted her head back so that she could see her friend leaning against the trunk of the tree with a worried expression, though from upside down her frown looked like a smile.

"I never said you had to stay with me." She stated matter-o-factly before closing her eyes once more and taking a deep breath. The smells and tastes in the air were fresh and sweet, and she could feel the tiny spots of her exposed skin where the sun's rays filtered through the leaves. Everything felt and smelled and tasted so nice. It was so nice to just drown out all of the sounds with all of her other senses. "I'm going back for chem, so if you insist on staying with me you don't have too much longer to wait." Baeli heard the sigh of relief above her head and smiled. 'Stupid dreams.'

Ivory had stiffened when he touched her hand, but realized he was trying to play it off. She gave a weak chuckle and shrugged. "I guess. " There hadn't been just her static though. . . She pushed it from her mind. Had to be nothing. Shoving her hands back into her pockets, she watched him a moment. Then it slipped out. "Mine died the night I ran away from home. " She glanced down, then back up at him. "That's actually why I survived. Forest Fire. " Fire. . . just the word made her uneasy.

Alison continued to swim her laps until she heard a bell ring. She didn't know what it was for or how long she'd been in the water but she jumped out of the pool, ripped off her swim cap and goggles then booked it for the locker room. Changing as quickly as she could she dried herself off the took of her suit and changed back into her clothes. Her long white hair was dripping down her back, she didn't mind it much, but other people might seeing as her shirt was white. She sighed quietly out of annoyance and took a hair-tie out of her duffel bag and put her hair up in a half bun half pony tail, considering it was to long to just be put in a bun or a pony tail. She found an empty locker and threw her bag into it, after she pulled out her own lock that had her name engraved on it, and placed the lock on the locker. "All set." She replied to herself then rushed off to go back to the hall that she had been in earlier. It was so big, it had to lead to somewhere. Then she remembered that Dusk was going to the Library. Maybe Ali would go and surprise her. Ali walked through the hall and found the library. Opening up the doors it was cool and quiet. But there were a few voices that could be heard. She walked in and saw Dusk. Waving to the girl she walked up to her. "Hehe, Hi. I kinda got side tracked. You have a beautiful pool here. Do you have a swim team? Or is it just for recreational purposes?" She asked curiously. Then apologized for smelling like Chlorine.

Vath eyes widened when she said that her parents died to and looked away for a moment "I guess that's two things we have in common..." Vath looked at Ivory with a kind face "I'm sorry about your parents...I raelly am." Vath kind of felt like it was his fault that they died since he can control fire. For some reason Vath diden't really feel like Vath but like fire itself and now he was feeling bad that fire killed her parents.

Vath looked into the library and relized his arm was getting tired. He looked at Ivory and said "So, should we go inside? You must be looking for a book or something." Vath chuckled and looked at Ivory's blue eyes. Vath always did like the dark colors like red and black but for some reason he liked the eyes he had been seeing lately. Baeli with her strange golden eyes that shined like the sun. And now Ivory with her light blue eyes that were like the ocean.

"You needn't apologize. It was just nature. " She shrugged and walked inside, glancing over her shoulder at him. She lowered her voice, the way people automatically did inside a library. "Zeus lashing out, I guess. " She smiled lightly. "The fire was started by lightning, in case that was to obscure of a reference. " She glanced over at him, then at his hair. Inanely curious, she couldn't help but say, "That must have taken some clever handiwork to get it to dye in a streak like that. . . ."

Vath chuckled and walked in himself and pinched abit of his hair "Would you by some chance believe me if I said I was born with it?" Vath let his arm drop and looked at Ivory's hair "And I am guessing from the little stunt witht he wall, your a natural blonde." Vath chuckled and then covered his mouth because of what he said. "I'm very sorry....that came out wrong."

Ivory laughed- then seemed stricken. She hadn't laughed in so long. . .shaking it off, she shrugged. "Yes, I'm a natural blonde. " She shrugged. "I don't act like it very often, but sometimes I do. " She heard the crackling sound again, and shifted her hands in her pockets. She had to calm down or something. Why wouldn't it stop? She tilted her head at him, staring at his hair for a moment. "Well, if it is natural, then I supose it's a good thing the middle color is red and not white. Otherwise you would have been called some pretty nasty names, huh?" She glanced back down at his face.

Vath raised an eyebrow at the girl and chuckled in a strange way. "I don't really understand. What could they have called...oh wait." Vath thought for a moment and then slaped himself on the forehead. "I would of been called a skunk." Vath chuckled to himself and let his hand drop "But to anwser your first question, no. It's not natural. I wish it was though, I mean how many people do you see with cool hair like this?"

"Not many. " She said simply. Few people had hair like that. It was almost always a single color, or blended completely. "I'm not to sure hair can ever be like that naturally. " She shrugged. Brushing her own hair back from her face, she glanced towards a clock. Only a few more minutes until the next class. To bad. She glanced back at him. Then the lights flickered again, rapidly. Blinking a bit, she tried to stop it. Forcing herself to keep talking, she said simply. "Though, there are always new things happening every day. "

Vath laughed abit before he looked at the clock when she did and his mouth gapped open "Crap! I have to get to class. and it's on the other side of campus." Vath looked at Ivory and said nerviosly "I am so sorry to leave like this. Mabye I will see you around some more and we can talk agian?" Vath began walking backwards to the door and had his hand on it but then waited for her anwser."

She nodded. "No problem, I'm in the same sitch. " She rushed past him, waving as she did so, and heading towards the normal lockers- after all,s he wasn't holding anything, her stuff was crammed. She almost tripped, but managed to catch herself. She turned around the corner, and went to open the locker. She hated hated hated the lockers. They were metal. She reached out to touch it- and the shock was so strong she could see the sparks. She quickly opened it and got her stuff,t ehn slammed it and ran around the next corner. Math class, ick.

Vath ran towards a building and openedthe door to the lockers. He walked down the hallway tell he opened his locker and he put his comination in the dail. Once he opened the locker he dug threw and pulled out his guitar. It was a electric one and it wasen't the bigest but he liked it. Vath shut his locker and ran to the band building and slowed down once he was at the door. Vath walked inside and took his seat, then looked towards the front of the class.
