One cannot train in the ways of spilling blood without partaking in the act.

Bane Ussth Avararn

Bane shook his head, it didn't have to be this way. She could join the Unseelie court and live like a princess again. But no she wanted this it seemed, and walked over to the big iron door and closed it with a gloved hand. He felt the iron under the glove even still, like a unpleasant tingling sensation. He then picked up a rod of iron with a shaped piece of iron at the end. S for slave. He sighed and walked around behind her, he crouched and tore the shirt on her back to expose her shoulder blade.

"Pain is not necessary you dont have to fight me. I will take care of you here if you aid me. You will live like a princess and not have to worry about the war."

All true, as prince he could make all that happen. Never lie when the truth is more profitable. His mother's words echoed in his head. He loved her and it had pained him to have to kill her... but Bane always did what he had to do... no matter the pain.

Sileen's eyes continued to follow Bane as he moved, the hatred making them shine in the light. She frowned as he closed the door, only to pick up the rod. Her eyes widened slightly as she saw the S on the end and realized what he intended. Her back arched as he tore her shirt and she clenched her jaw.
"So I live here like a princess, though in the meantime my home and my family suffer from the war?" she hissed. "I don't think so. You nothing that I would consider of value."
She braced herself for the burning touch of the iron, determined not to give him the satisfaction of her crying out.

Bane shook his head and drew close to her. He spoke quitetly into her ear. He had nothing to fear, she was making it clear she would die first which meant his weakness would never leave this room.

"Do you think I am a monster, do you think I enjoy this? I do not! You do not understand I do not want to hurt you... but I will do what I must... I always have and I will not let you change that."

He held the iron in his hand, he would normally have no problem with this. He really did enjoy it some of the time. But he was having trouble bringing himself to do it. He did not wan to mar her perfect skin or cause her beautiful voice to crack as she screamed. He caught himself again. What was it that made him feel so about her. She would tell him no matter what he felt.

Sileen shuddered as he placed his mouth close to her ear and she glared at the far wall, listening silently to his words.
"If you don't want to hurt me, then let me go." she hissed. "It's as simple as that. But I will not betray my kin because of selfish desires."
She wanted to lash out at him, to see if he really did bleed or if there was nothing underneath that perfect skin. But since she was chained up, she had no choice but to remain where she was, feeling her rage churn at this man despite his perfect, handsome features.

Bane put down the iron and moved around in front of her. He held up his left hand and began to unbuckle the armor over the glove. When it was all on the floor of the room he pulled the long black cloth glove off, turning it inside out as he did. He tossed the glove aside and held up a charred and burnt arm. In the places that the skin was cracked and broken embers glowed from the inside like it contained a inner fire. He held it close to her face so she could fee the intense heat that radiated from his Hand of Ashes.

"Since it seems I will be the only one to leave this room alive I will tell you something. So you understand before you die. I was not born like this... I was born with only my hand of darkness. My father saw it as weakness and hated me from birth. He said I looked like the enemy and that i was weak like them too. So he did experiments on me with dark magic that should have been forgotten for all time. The pain is was... was is and forever will be... excruciating.

Bane grasped her arm for a brief moment, just long enough to burn her skin and show her what he felt all the time.

"So know this, if you believe I am a soulless monster that can not feel pain and do not care for others you are wrong. I feel pain every second of every day. And I do unto others as they have done unto me. I could have killed you the moment we met... but I have the kindness not to infilct the same pain on others that I carry with me. It is my burden."

He moved behind her and picked the Iron up again, gathering himself for the thing she was forcing him to do.

Sileen's dark gaze moved to Bane as he stepped around her. She didn't look at his hand until the glove was fully removed but when she did, her eyes widened and she couldn't contain the gasp. She cringed away from it as he held it close to her face, feeling the heat of it cause her cheeks to flush. The princess listened silently to his words, slowly understanding why he was the way he was. His grip on her arm caught her by surprise and she gave a surprised and pained yelp, trying to jerk her arm away. Luckily for her, he didn't hold on very long, but long enough for the skin to be red and raw. Sileen set her jaw as he moved behind her again, hearing the scrape of the iron as it was picked up.
"So you become exactly what your father wanted you to be?" she asked coldly. "A murderer and a warlord?" She snorted, twisting slightly in her chains. "You claim that the pain is your burden, yet you give it out to others. You contradict your words by your actions."
Sileen returned to glaring at the far wall, her arm throbbing where he had burned her. She would let him have his sap-story and try to convince her to help him. His words would have no effect on her, no matter how silky his voice would become.

Bane hissed and shoved the iron into her shoulder blade holding it there as the skin sizzled and burnt.

"Do not be coy with me Sileen! You force me to do this. I did not ask for my pain! YOU BEG FOR YOURS!"

Bane pulled the brand away and looked at the S now burnt into her skin. He truly felt bad for what he had just done. He hated to have to hurt her but unless she told him what he needed to know he had no choice.

"I am not my father. He would had killed you in the forest and sent your broken body back to your parents for amusement! I do only what I must do to survive. That is why the worms feast on his corpse now, and why I must make you tell me. Even when it plagues me to harm you."

Bane tossed the iron away and retrieved a long cat of nine tails from the table. Its ends tipped in bladed hooks. The blood of its previous victim still dried and caked to the ends.

Sileen's scream echoed in the small room as the burning pain seared through her shoulder blade, radiating down her back and side. She bit her lip and ducked her head, forcing the pained tears back.
"I do not beg for it." she said hoarsely. "I just tell you the only thing that I will tell you and you choose to dish the pain out to me."
The princess heard the sounds of blades scraping along the floor and she kept her eyes closed. She would say no more. Her muscles tensed as she braced herself to feel more pain sear across her back, wondering if it really did plague him to cause her pain. She would find out soon enough if his words were true.

Bane held the cat of nine tails in his hand and stared at her back. He knew what he must do but he could not bring himself to harm her further. He looked at her and saw beauty and kindness and he loved it. He wanted to stare into her eyes and hold her not scar her. She held some power over him that he could not explain. He walked over and put the weapon on the table, he placed the iron there too. He pulled up and the table and its items folded into the wall and locked so she could not get to them.

"I can not... I know not what spell you have placed on me but I can not harm you further."

He walked in front of her and crouched bringing his face close to hers, he looked into her eyes with his glowing red ones. That was the only Unseelie thing about him. He had a look of utter sadness and confusion on his face. He had to find out what she had done to him... he had to do his job, and he could not with her.

Sileen tried to force back the shuddering sigh of relief as Bane put the weapons away. She opened her eyes to see him come to a stop in front of her, his eyes meeting hers. She wanted to cringe away from him, to spit in his face, to lash out at him, anything that would remove his gaze from her.
"I have cast no spell." she murmured. "And you have already scarred me. If you think sparing me from lashings is going to make me think more highly of you, then you are wrong."
She continued to glare at him though she was weary and just wanted to sleep. Sileen forced her defiant expression to remain in place, unable to stop the occasional tremor from running through her. The brand on her shoulder was still painful, the nerves screaming as they were exposed to the cool air.

Bane looked into her eyes for a long wile, like he was looking into her soul. He had to decide what to do with her. No one would bother his prisoner, so is he helped her just this once no one would know... he would never let it happen again but she was so beautiful he could not let the scar remain.

"Fine... I will remove it and start again some other time."

He stood and walked behind her, he gently placed his right hand on her scar and spoke softly in an strange tongue.

"Sila dro ulu elghinn lu' afya ulu sickness. Drewst l' jiv'undus dal nindol wound lu' plynn tarthe l' scar."

The pain in her shoulder vanished as did the scar. He smiled as he looked at her renewed skin. It was soft to the touch and made him long for more contact with her. But she was a stubborn and spiteful cur. Why he felt for her was beyond him.

Sileen never looked away, her eyes hard. She wasn't going to be weak and be the first to look away though she got the feeling that if they had a true staring contest then he would win. Her eyes followed him as he moved until she lost sight of him and she lowered her head. Her muscles jerked and she hissed as he put his hand on her wound. The pain only lasted for a few moments before the strange words sent a cooling feeling through her, causing the pain to disappear.
The princess sighed and sagged against her chains, feeling the metal dig into her wrists. She gave no word of thanks and no other response to show that she was aware that he healed her. Sileen figured it must be part of his plan to warm up to her and get her to reveal the secrets of her kin. She would remain cold and distant from him, willing to put up with whatever he did to her, just as long as she knew that her home and her family was safe.
