Welcome to Gaia! ::

Kiyoko felt a tickle on the tip of her nose. She looked you and the what seemed to be tickling her was the rain.
Oh no.
She ran to a two pieces of wood, for shelter. but it was no use the water was victorious, and knocked the wood down on Kiyoko's head.
Ow
She rubbed it, and in return on her hand, was a red liquid. I spot of her hair started growing red, almost as of she dyed it. But the liquid ran out of her her, thanks to the falling rain. She cried. All the ashes were off her body now, and she was stepping in a puddle of what seemed to be black tar, but it was just ashes giving the puddle a ugly color. Tears came down her face from the gash in her head. She sobbed, and tried screaming again, in hope of a respose.
"Is anyone there?! Please answer me!"

"Amidst The Blackness...
Lies...what?"

Ana opened her eyes slowly, the darkness staring back at her. She coughed and hacked up dust and debris as she slowly rolled over onto her side and studied the dirt-covered, destroyed streets she was currently laying on. "Mngg owww," Ana winced as she sat up and discovered that her body was covered in bruises and scrapes. She rested the palm of her hand against her forehead as she thought to herself, 'what the hell just happened? let's see...I was walking down some of the streets in Jersery City looking for this return adress,' Ana paused mid-thought to raise her other hand and check to see if the letter her father sent to her mother was still alright. Far from. The paper was chared, ripped, tattered, crumpled, destroyed to point where it could not be distinguished as 'paper' or even 'trash' Ana sighed and pointed out to herself 'oh well it's not as if it will do me any good now.' She looked around herself, seeing the destroyed, ruined buildings. All hope completely vanished from her heart, her very soul, as she realised that a once bubbley, busy city had turned into a desolate wasteland; Not only that, she could see no other life form. No other human standing up and saying 'ow' or coming up to her with worry 'are you all right?' and not even a 'Gotcha! Did you think that was real?' and then happy laughter and faces. Ana curled up into a ball, despite her bruised torso, ribs and arms. She buried her face deep between her knees and wept. The sky began to sob with her. She wept for hours and hours. She wept for humanity, she wept for sanity, she wept for love, life, she wept for her soul, her timid scared soul. One thought passed through her mind...

||Fun fact!: ((which is more helpful than fun)) Jersey City is in a two hour walking distance of New York City!||
Kiyoko listened for a response, but got none. At that moment, very second, Kiyoko learned how hope and dispair really felt. She sat on the ashes, her face in her knees as she cried, and sobbed. Her body was stiff, covered in stings, because all the ash has entereed her cuts and wounds. The rain was still pouring, washing the ashes, and blood to all different places.
"Why?! Why me?"
All hope is now faded and their seems to be no point in living. Kiyoko thought.
She would try one more time. She stood up. Her shoulders cocked, and she once again screamed,
"Please?! Is anyone there. I beg and long for an answer. Please!"

"W...y me..." a voice filtered through the darkness. Suddenly, he felt cold. And wet. Leon's brain started to kick in and he blinked, looking up at a dark sky, rain clattering to the pavement around him. He sat up slowly, groaning as he did. He had no idea what happened...and his mind slowly pieced together memories. An extras wanted poster...a security guard...the logo of a big production company...stage lights...he looked over at said stage lights, lying on their side, shattered.
"Please?! Is anyone there. I beg and long for an answer. Please!" the same voice cried out. This time he heard it clearly.
"O..." he started, his voice cracking. He hadn't spoken in a long time, and his throat was completely dried up. He coughed loudly, hoping the sound would attract whoever was speaking.
"Over here!" he yelled hoarsely, his accent lost with the hoarseness of his voice. He got up, taking a few shaky steps toward where he thought the voice was coming from. Don't be a dream... he wished silently as his steps became more and more confident. He coughed again, hoping his voice would carry over the sound of the rain clattering to the ground.
"There is someone!" he shouted, again in a strained voice.
Kiyoko lost hope. But something rang her ears. She knew it was true for the hoarse, cracked voice could not be imagination. She smiled. She now learned the meaning of coming out of hope and despair. She raced to the sound.
Oh please dear Lord, I beg for a miracle.
She continued to run in the rain, she soon came across a boy.
"Oh my god!"

Yes! Praise the Lord!

Leon stared, dumbfounded for a moment. He couldn't believe for a moment that he was watching a figure run toward him in the rain. Then his brain, in its half-awake, groggy state, slowly clued in that it was not a dream, almost at the same time the figure spoke.
"Oh mon dieux...je ne suis pas tout seule." (Oh my god...I am not all alone) Leon said, his voice reverting to his mother tongue of French. He took a few stiff steps towards the figure, speaking English this time.
"I...cannot believe zis." he said, his voice cracked but his accent now more pronounced.
Kiyoko studied the boy. He obviously was french. She finally stopped, she was soaked but a smile came across her face to know she might not after all being the last living thing. Her smile faded, and she came back to reality.
I...I can't believe this either." She crickled and cracked.
"What is happening here?"
"Who are you?"[/

Leon continued to stare. In a past life, it was rude, but now...he couldn't believe it, so it was almost as if he was confirming she existed. His mouth curled into a smile, his dry lips cracking a little as he did. While hers faded, his stayed on.
"I do not know...one moment I was walking toward zee post production building...zen zere was a flash...and I woke up here..." he motioned to where he'd been lying. He looked back at her, and extended an unfortunately dirty hand.
"Mon nom est Leon." he introduced himself as. "Leon Reno." every time he said the word Leon, he pronounced it the French way, sort of like "Lay-Own".
kiyoko giggled at he's ascent. SHe always loved the way they sound, and how foreign it was.
"I'm Kiyoko." She shook he's hand, not caring about the ashes since well her hand was just as dirty.
"Its nice to meet you." She said trying to be polite.

Leon smiled at her giggle. How great it was to hear that sound! He thought he was the last one left. In the time between he'd woken and heard her speak, it was so quiet he swore there was nobody left.
He shook her hand firmly, but not too much so. "It is uh...nice to meet you too." he said. He obviously still didn't have a firm grasp on the English language.
She smiled and pulled her hand back at her side. She didn't really know what to add at this point. Yea she was deseprate for a human voice, but once it got this far, she really didn't know what to say. Just then her stomach grumbled.
"Oh no!"
She was starving. She placed her hand over her stomach and grabbed it, hoping too quench its hunger.

Leon watched as she doubled over. He hadn't heard her stomach grumble, so when she did, he reached forward quickly, putting a hand on her shoulder with a concerned look on his face. He'd just found a survivor: he didn't want her to die on him.
"Est tu bien? Are you okay?" he asked in a concerned tone.

"Amidst The Blackness...

Ana's tears ceased, though the rain did not, she stood up, dried her tears, combed her fingers through her messy hair, and began walking north-west of her current location. Though she doubted she would find any other survivors, she still walked on along the sides of the freeways. The rain had washed most of the dirt and dust out of her hair and off of her clothes, though unfortunately drenching them and not helping at with the chill leaking into her bones. She desperately longed to hear human voices, to feel the warmth of humanity's touch. She knew it was useless, how could anyone possibley survive that...blast or whatever it was? 'but I survived...maybe there is some hope after all...' Ana's thoughts died down as a gust of wind sent icy chills to the marrow of her bones, forcing her into an uncontrollable fit of shivers. "I hate my life," She murmured, her voice uncomprehensible and thick due to her shivers and her undeniable british accent.

"My hunger seemed to have reached me, and by the look there isn't food within miles."
She fell to the ground. She couldn't remember the last time she ate. The pain in her stomach grew. She let out a moan. Food was a vital part of life.

Leon watched as she fell. Still concerned, he knelt in front of her. He didn't care that he was kneeling on the wet ground: he was practically soaked anyways. He also didn't care that he barely knew this girl: he hugged her comfortingly anyways.
"Don't worry. Get up, we will find some'sing to eat." he said softly.
