"Believe me, you'd know if you were bothering me." Saïx said, rather jokingly. Mainly 'cause this building wouldn't be here any more. He stared back, his brown eyes taking on a reddish tint as the stress inside his mind increased because of his new encounter. Saïx took a deep breath to calm himself down then continued talking, "I just couldn't help but notice. I could help you feel better... But in all honesty it's addicting and a little strange."

Rose smiled and was feeling much happier because she was no longer alone, no longer left by herself to remember the horrible past she had. "It must be horrible to meet a person like this," she said, "I'm Rose." She put out her hand for him to shake it.

Saïx walked over and took her hand, "Saïx Vakarian, resident Telekinetic specialist." His irises were now crimson as the stress of contact was just enough to trigger a minor psychic jolt inside his body. "Meeting like this, on a psychological level, is actually more stabilizing than meeting under normal, non-stressed circumstances."

"Your a telekinetic? That's cool. I can go into people's dreams and change them. Nothing special," she said smiling while shaking his hand. "Only if I don't hate you," she thought because she could easily turn dreams into nightmares for those whom she didn't like very much and those nightmares wouldn't finish until she was satisfied with what she had done.

"Yeah, well... I'm only able to activate my abilities under moderate to extreme mental stress." Saïx said, "So, as a result, I can't use my powers constantly. Also, it means that I cannot control my abilities when under extreme mental stress. I turn into a pseudo death-machine." Great, He thought to himself, Tell her that you're psychotic. She'll definitely talk to you more often then. He stood up, withdrawing his hand, and closed his eyes only to open them a second later when they were back to their normal brown.

Rose laughed and said with little gleam in her eyes, "At least your truthful. Yes, the changing dreams depends on my mood." Then slowly spacing out and starting to look a little sad she said, "Everyone's different the truth is good."

Saïx caught the sad look instantly and responded, "However, there is one thing that I can do all the time. I can also activate certain parts of your nervous and endocrine system to release a chemical called Serotonin. It controls hunger, mood, and others. It's a bit of a chemical pick-me-up." He half-smiled as this purely factual statement seemed a bit comical to him.

"That's cool," she said probably noticing that he noticed her sadness. She immediately changed to her happy and perky self and said, "So how long have you been here?" She also hoped that she didn't sound like she was nosy or anything like that.

Saïx was taken aback by the sudden happiness, then smiled and scratched his head responding to her question rather tentatively, "About a year now. I've never really said more than hello or goodbye to anyone here... and I mostly spend my time in that corner." He motioned slightly to the chair in the dark corner he was in previously. His true, personable, self was coming out now. And it wasn't necessarily good. Without checks on his feelings and actions he was highly susceptible to stress.

"You know that if you have a lot of friends. No offense. They can also help you relax more and you would be less stressed," she said hoping that it would help him a little, "If you want I could also make you have good dreams." She smiled and noticed that she wasn't a bit sad anymore. "Yep talking to people and having friends help a lot," she thought to herself.

"Yes, that does seem to be true." His personality was returning to it's cold, logical, state. "However, the effect of early socialization is sometimes enough to trigger an event of some magnitude in reference to my abilities. In other words, I get stressed out and... well, explode. So... I've tried and failed for the past five years because of the instability of my personality. Though, I've never thought about my dreams... Ah, I hope I haven't had an episode in my sleep..." It was obviously bothering him as his eyes turned once again to a rich crimson but he soon caught his emotions and his eyes returned to brown.

"I could help you with dreams and maybe help you get less stressed," she said with warmth in her eyes, hoping that he was willing to be friends. She knew that stress was easy to come and harder to go.

"That might be useful." He said, thoughtfully, "I guess... I could give it a try once at your request. Thank you." That last sentence was a bit more tentative than everything else he said before. Now he was really feeling pressure and his eyes turned from a crimson to an almost fire red.

"What do you want to dream of? And when do you want to do it," she asked. She hoped that by giving him good dreams he would be less stressed and therefore less dangerous.

"Give others freedom to be themselves.
Appreciate the differences between their ways and yours."
Saïx thought for a moment. What would I want to dream of? Is there really anything that calms me other than fire? But fire is so destructive and chaotic on a large scale. "I... Don't know... I've never paid much attention to my dreams and I only can calm myself down with this little lighter and some techniques that I picked up."

I'm cold and broken.

It's hopeless, the end will come and wash it all away,
Forsaken, I live for those I lost along the way.
And I can't remember how it all began to break.
We suffer, I live to fight and die another day.

Fast I fade away, it's almost over, hold on.
Slow, I suffocate, I'm cold and broken alone.
