His fingers slid down, gently groping one of Kurt's pert cheeks as he kissed him slowly. "Oui, bébé..."
Kurt nodded. "Ja." He bamphed them into the infirmary. Ororo jerked her head up, looking at them.

"What are you two--oh, never mind." She shook her head. Blood covered the gloves on her fingers. "Do you want to see how he's doing? We've stopped the bleeding. Just a few minutes, though." She drew back the curtain and stepped aside. Kurt tip-toed--not that he didn't walk that way all the time--over to the edge of the bed, running a hand over the boy's sweaty face slowly.

"Kleiner," he murmured. "Kleiner, aufwachen, mein kind." Jeannie shuddered, opening his eyes slightly and looking between them.

"Still hurts...still hurts..." Kurt nodded. The boy nodded very slightly before looking at the Cajun. "C-c'n I g'back t-t'sleep? 'n'...'n' y'be here when I wake up? R-righ'? B-botha...botha ya?"

Gambit smiled weakly, doing his best to try and hide the choking in his voice. "Y-yeah...'Course, cher..."
"Mm--mm-hmm." The boy returned the shakey smile, nodding some before leaning back and closing his eyes. Nightcrawler bit his lip, glowering weakly as he murmured, "Sie wagen nicht sterben, meine Junge." He turned to Gambit. "Let's go." He took the man's hand and teleported them to the senator's doorstep. "He should be here, after vhat he did." A menacing snarl crept into the blue demon's voice. "Clutching his pride and perfect family, zat piece of s**t."

Gambit smiled. "We wait till he's asleep, cher...."
Kurt nodded, perching up on the wall-fence around the man's yard like a living, painted gargoyle, and settled in to wait.

As hours passed, Gambit's eyes flinched as the last lights went out. "We act now, cher...Ah want you ta grab his daughter, an' make sure she's kept asleep...An' den 'port both o' us into his room..."
Nightcrawler nodded, eyes a creepy, dull yellow in the nightglow as he disappeared into the house, gently moving the sleeping girl, and returning to take the Cajun into the father's bedroom. The lowest of hisses rose up from the demon's throat at the sight of the bedded senator.

Gambit smirked, winking his eye at a small piece of dust on the senator's night table, enough to charge it and startle the man awake. He held out a card pressed to the man's neck. "Don' even t'ink abou' makin' a sound, Senator..."
The senator glowered at the Cajun. "Y-you," he murmured, voice barely audible as he spoke around the deadly card. He almost started as he saw Nightcrawler's form in the darkness with his sleeping daughter. "Let go of her!" he hissed. The blue mutant sneered, a look that sent a terrified shudder down the senator's spine with its heartless glee. The whiplike tail drew silent corkscrews in the air.

"Like you let our son go?" he enunciated, just loudly enough for the man to hear.

He gripped the man's neck, hard enough so he couldn't speak, but not enough to kill him. "Let us give you some...friendly advice, senator. Now den...who do you t'ink is responsible fo' what happened today?"

His eyes flared bright crimson.
The senator glowered back into the Cajun's eyes, barely repressing a shudder at their bloody glow, setting his jaw and stating with his look just whose fault he thought it was. He tried to spit at the man, but it fell short, dropping onto the floor.

He smirked, laughing a bit as he trailed the card down, the flaring weapon hovering near the man's chest. "You may t'ink you bein' all noble...hunting down...an' killing people you t'ink ah wrong....But tell me...who do you t'ink has said dose exact same words?"

He held up a few pictures at the man's face. "Who ah dese men?" They were pictures of the Klu Klux Klan, Hitler, Russell Arthur Henderson and Aaron James McKinney, and Fred Phelps.
"Many would call them evil men," whispered the senator, adding quickly, "I am nothing like them."
