Sin knew her master was angry the second the young woman walked back into the room. It hadn't been long since she'd left..or so it seemed to the dog...so what could have happened to make her so upset so quickly? She smelled of days long past...a familiar but blurry image. Something from her pup-days. Sin whined so softly that even she could barely hear it...but her master seemed to sense it, and walked over quickly. Her eyes were softer. She had Ratchet in her arms, but she would quickly let go...Sin knew. "Sin...I need you to keep an eye on Ratchet while I'm gone...and to guard the front deck for us. Can you do that?" Of course...the only words that the dog could understand were 'Keep Ratchet', and 'Guard deck' but that was all she needed to understand what she was commanded to do. She reached up her muzzle and gave Alex a quick lick to the cheek, receiving a scratch behind the ear in return and a smile. But still she could feel the tension, and knew her master would come home with bruises tonight. She let out a quick snort-like huff and lifted to her feet, following Master out the door of the Metal Room. Then she was gone, down to the dock and off of the ship. So she sat, patiently and quietly, listening to the words of Alpha and a smell she did not know...though she understood none of them. Her ears were alert, though she laid down in a patch of sun and dozed a little...she would know when strangers came. It was only once she was just to the edge of sleep when she her Alpha's voice talking to the strange-scented one. Though she knew the tone, and assumed the smell would soon be familiar to her. Still, she lifted her head and gave him a look, sniffed the air, then put her head back down.

Once again she drifted off in the warmth of the sun...and once again a new scent intruded her sense. She let out a growl now. For her nap was interrupted for the second time, and not by Alpha or Master. She climbed to her feet, her nose and ears sharp now. She was on duty, and she would not be sleeping in the cold-place again. She would not fail.

She reached her nose high into the air, caught the sent and bounded toward it, anger in her eyes. The scent was strongest in Alpha's Den, and she knew that was not a good sign. She let out one last growl before she let loose her full voice. She was proud of her call. It was loud and strong and she could hold it for a full breath. Once the howl was through, she sent out more alerts; barking from deep within her chest. She couldn't break the door down, for Alpha would be angry, but Intruder would be caught. She would not let this scent pass her by again.

Letting her gaze wonder around the crowded port, Charlie was sure that she would find what she was looking for here. It seemed to her that everyone had something on their mind, something to do.
There were many air ships, scattered on the docks of this town, and thinking to herself, she almost felt at home. Of course, her home wasn’t a air ship port, but, the hustle and bustle of the day sure reminded her of her home town.

Strolling down the long cobble-stone streets, she gave a soft sigh. Trailing behind her slowly was her mechanical friend, Bolt. Her life long project, finished just three years ago, caught the eyes of passer-bys as he followed behind Charlie. Noticing a building in the distance, it was a sigh of relief. Spotting one of a few bars in the town, Charlie couldn’t help herself. It was almost as if the barkeep had flailed a “Welcome Home” sign in her window just for her.

Letting a small smile creep along her lips she pushed open the large wooden door to the bar. Holding it open for Bolt, she watched him slink in, then slowly closed it behind him. The bar keep looked up towards them. A pudgy man, with a white dress shirt and a black bowtie.
“Well Hello there Miss. What can I get you from the bar this even’.”
Those words were like the ringing of a door bell to Charlie. Not only had she been aching for some liquor, but she often heard Jessa say that to her own customers. Walking towards the counter, she slipped herself onto a bar stool, swinging her legs around till they were neatly in front of her. “Actually, I’d love a Scotch, thanks.” She gave him a smile and the barkeep winked at the young woman.
“You got it sweetheart. On the rocks?” He asked as he turned to his shelves and grabbed a short glass.
“That’d be great.” Giving a bigger smile.

The people in this area seemed nice. She loved it. Unlike her small town, these people were willing to give smiles and not expect anything in return. The acts of kindness were a great relief.
Watching the bartender put her glass down on his nicely shined top, he took roughly four ice cubes, the only amount that could fit in the, and still give you an ample amount of booze. Just what Charlie liked. Pouring the amber colored liquid into the glass, Charlie could already taste it. She wasn’t an alcoholic, but she enjoyed the taste of beer.

Setting the glass down in front of her, he spun the cap back on the bottle and returned it to its place on the shelf. Grabbing a hold of the glass, Charlie looked down to Bolt. “Cheers buddy.” The mechanical dog tilted his head and stuck out his long metal tongue. She smiled down at him and took a sip. Feeling the warm liquor fall down her throat, it was something she had been waiting for. She wanted to savor it, but knew she had to at least drink it within a reasonable time. She had business to take care of today.

After finishing the rest of his customers, the barkeep returned to Charlie. “You don’t seem like you’re from around here Miss..” His voiced trailed as he started to dry off glasses with the towel around his shoulder.
Taking her lips from the glass, she looked up at the man. “Well, not really. I’m here to join a crew. I’m an engineer, and I was hoping there was an air ship around here in need of one.” Her voice seemed hopeful.
The barkeep looked hesitant to say what was on his mind. “An engineer huh?” The older man replied. “You don’t seem like one little lady. More the…. Fancy eatin’ type.” He gave a teasing smile to her.

Returning the smile, Charlie sighed. “Well that’s me. Always been one. I made this guy from scrap metal. Took me nine years, but finished em’ just three years ago.” Looking down at Bolt she gave a soft chuckle. The barkeep looked down from a top his counter and his eyes widened. “You made that lil’ creature all bys yourself?” He looked over at her, seeing Charlie nod he leaned back against the counter. Putting his chin in his hand, he realized there was really only one ship out there that was looking for such a qualified engineer. Shaking his head he let out a sigh. “Alright listen. I know of a ship that’s lookin’ for a memba’ but you didn’t hear this from me.” He said leaning towards her again. “Nevaeh… She just docked. The cap’n lookin’ for someone.. You bes’ be goin’ if you wanna catch er’.” Winking at her again.

Charlie’s eyes widened with excitement as the man told her this perfect information. Grabbing the glass with one hand, she tipped her head backwards and gulped the last bit down, slamming it on the counter. “Thanks…” She smiled. Grabbing her bad she threw it over her shoulder and ran for the door, the little creature in toe.
The man grabbed her glass and smiled, wiping the outside. “Good luck lass, good luck..”

**********************************************************************

Maneuvering through the crowd, only one ship seemed to catch Charlie’s eye. It was.. Really… the last ship in the dock, and it was the farthest one away from the people. Maybe to stay away from trouble…
Pushing the thought from her mind, Charlie headed straight for it.

Reaching the large wooden planks that created her walk way, Charlie looked down to Bolt. Giving her a reassuring mechanical bark, the small robot dog giving her the reassurance she needed.
Nodding down to him, she smiled once more. Heading up the ship, she reached the deck. Looking around for the cabin. The cabin was usually captain’s quarters. She narrowed her eyes and looked confused. “HELLO!?” she shouted. Her voice carried as she headed up the small set of stairs to the navigation center, more like.. A playground. Observing the ship’s technological benefits was certainly a familiar past time to the young twenty year old girl.

"To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world."

If it was one thing Mirella had to add onto about the description, concerning today's "essence" it was the numerous amount of people just, existing around the port. Her eyes flooded with the amount of women, children, men and even pets had just consumed the immediate area. Her sense was almost tingling to the severity of annoyance, because of her inability to just head from her current position straight on to where she felt it the strongest. As she found a "dead spot" in the crowd, where she could no longer progress any further, her mind was sent into another shocking vision of the past. It felt almost as if one was standing in a lone spot on a specific terrain, and then the sensation flooded that person of being yanked right from that spot, into a completely different setting. When Mirella next opened her eyes, she found herself standing in a memory once again. This time was when she had first adopted calling the old man by "grandfather" instead of just, 'old man'. The present Mirella watched on as the familiar memory racked her brain and refreshed her eyes with it's fond reminiscence. The past Mirella had just come back from gathering supplies and some medicinal herbs, as suggested by the old man. Mirella remembered it had been a beautiful morning and afternoon on that day. Seeing again, the younger version of herself, Mirella felt a tug at her heart. Perhaps she missed the old days, perhaps it was a passing emotional moment. A small smile coursed over her lips as she watched the unmistakeably cute moment where she adopted the name over her mentor. She remembered asking the old man if it would be okay to address him as that, she recalled being so formal about it as well. The present Mirella giggled slightly as the old man patted the younger version on the head gently, and brought about his way of making anything bad just seem like a distant scattered memory. She tilted her head and hugged the old man, and proceeded into the next room with him. Leaving the present Mirella standing there, to await being pulled back.

Upon her removal from the powerful vision, Mirella felt a little dazed as she heard the familiar hum of the crowd around her. Apparently, she reminded them of a "walking dead" theme, since she had just been standing there, staring idly into the distance. Nevertheless, she found herself with room to move around now. The crowd had thinned slightly, or had relocated a section of it, whichever the case happened to be, she proceeded onwards. With each footstep, Mirella felt another tingling of a memory, though these weren't of the vision variety, it felt like a small numbing sensation in her cerebrum. The sensation she felt earlier was getting steadily stronger as she approached the ship. She was getting closer to the edge of the port, due to the sensations becoming stronger, and they were no longer numb feelings, but sharp sensations, enough to cause her to wince with each foot she proceeded forward. She began to wonder why something that had caused her memories of such happiness, was causing her a painful feeling now. Several moments later led her just shy of her destination, the feeling was so immensely strong now, it caused her to drop to her knees. Her eyes had become watery due to the sharp pain in her mind, it had leaked into the back of her eyes. She was forced to shut them in an attempt to clear her mind, and try to think the pain away. Her thoughts pondered about regrets, was she regretting the choice to come seek whatever this sensation was? That couldn't be it, but as she struggled to stand, she found herself.. incapable of moving her leg muscles. She could hear the pounding of feet on the ground beneath her, someone was coming closer to her. "Miss are you alright?" Came the voice from whoever had approached her. Though it sounded extremely muffled to her, suddenly she found herself staring at the painful memory of the night before she'd met grandfather...

The crowd was large and ferocious. Screams filled the night sky with violence and fear, a horrible presence to take in. Mirella stepped out into the street from her job, finally able to go home and relax for the night. Her heart pounded with anxiety as she got swept into the flowing crowd, the sights of her home, of her friends, swiftly leaving the immediate view. The scariest thoughts and feelings, were passing through the girl's head right now. The realization that she might never see her father again, was kicking in. The pain, of the last thing she'd said to her father, still ringing loudly in her mind...."

She opened her eyes, looking at the gravel beneath her, her breaths were short and quick, and the question came again, though it was clear this time. "Miss.. are you alright?" She managed to sit up, her lavender hair still covering the majority of her face. As she turned to the man and moved her bangs away from her eyes, to respond to the man, his expression chance suddenly, and he backed up nervously. Confused, she tried to resume a normal heart rate and breathing "schedule". The man quickly shook his head and disappeared into the crowd. Mirella managed to stand to her feet and stumbled over to a well close by, it was there she figured out what must have thrown the man off. Her eyes were a brighter pink than she'd ever seen them before, they almost sparkled. A few blinks later, she found that they were dulling down and returning to their "normal" state. She splashed a small cupped handful of water over her face, and resumed her search for the familiar feeling. It was close to the ship that she was sensing it, the memories and pain still flashing in her mind, though the pain wasn't there anymore. The numbing sensation had returned, but as far as she could tell, it wasn't going to change into the pain feeling again. After a few moments, Mirella stopped walking, she could see two men standing ahead of her, merely several yards ahead of her that is. Unable to tell what they were doing or talking about, she ignored the murmurs behind her from the crowd and approached the men. One she could clearly make out for being rather tall, he had a handsome face, even in the sort of working expression he was carrying. He had a shovel next to him, her curiosity hardly even flickered about it. All she cared about was why this familiar feeling from Grandfather, came from this man. She halted just a few feet from them, and tilted her head. Her mind searched for something to say, but nothing came. She just stood there, staring at the two men.. awaiting her discovery she supposed.

User Image Ava finally made it back to the ship. It had taken to long, even with her running as fast as she could. It was like she couldn't have gotten there fast enough. She stopped about ten feet away from the Navaeh, and panted, chest heaving, she looked around, searching for Sequoia first, then Alex. She wasn'ty aware of the presence of the new comers. Well, she sort of had a sense that something had changed, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it, nor did she have any interest in doing. All that mattered was finding out what was going on.
She continued to frantically look around, but she couldn't see anyone. Her mind was still buzzing. Even if someone was right in front of her, she probably wouldn't have noticed. This was most likely thanks to the presence of Demitri and Stella. It was harder to sense anything while they were aroud. She could almost sense them the most, and it scared her. This only got her mind to spin even more. She looked back at Kye and the others when they caught up, still breathing hard. She was afraid. Not something that happened often. This was the first time she didn't know what to do. "What's happening?" she asked, breathing. "Who were you looking for earlier?" she was asking so many questions because she was trying to put the pieces together. Her mind was a jumbled up puzzle at the moment, and she was searching for the right pieces.
When Demitri and Stell caught up, they were breathing even harder than Kye and Ava. They had been in space they're whole lives, so they were still adjusting to oxygen, and this heavy gravity. It was so much easier to move on their planet. So much room for movement too. How could Ava have survived in this place for so long?! Stella thought, resting her hands on her knees. Demitri, however, remained standing straight up. He was tired, but he had this issue with looking that way. As the old saying goes: Never let them see you sweat. This was especially true for Demitri since he still slightly felt as though he were in the presence of an enemy. Kye, that is. Maybe he was. He looked up at the huge ship that stood before him. It was a lovely sight in this light. Good and strong looking. And it had a sort of craft to it that made it look classic and original at the same time. Nonetheless, from what he understood, it was a pirate's ship, and not exactly where he wanted Ava to be. Stella was on the same wave length as Demitri. True, the boat was beautiful, but Stella had trouble believing that Ava could survive properly here. And yet, there she was. And she was strong. Somehow.

Well that was simple,’ Caspian thought as he followed after Sequoia obediently. He rubbed his throat subconsciously where the blade had been pressed up against his flesh earlier. He was relieved when he felt no mark and fingers came away free of blood. With a personable smile, Caspian folded his arms behind his back as he made his way closer to the ship with Sequoia. When they got close enough that Caspian was able to see the rather intimidating dog on board he was instructed to stay put and to pay no attention to the pooch. “Right then,” Caspian said with a nod as he watched the captain disappear on board. It’s funny really, how difficult it is to avoid doing something when you’ve been instructed not to. Caspian found himself gazing at the dog from the corner of his eyes, taking note of the strong muscle structure and powerful jaw of the beast. He felt a chill run up his spine at the thought of those teeth sinking into his arm.

Caspian’s thoughts were interrupted as a spade was thrust into his hand. “Digging?” Caspian repeated as he watched Sequoia move, his gunmetal eyes locked on that mechanical arm. ‘Hell’s bells...What a fiendish looking piece of machinery...I wonder what happened to his real arm? Perhaps he lost it in some epic battle over rubbles or...Wait. I’m supposed to be digging.’ Caspian shook the images out of his head and sunk the tip of the spade into the ground, allowing the tool to stand upright on it’s own. He made his way over to a nearby tree with a low branch and began to undress his torso, draping his coat, vest, and shirt over the wooden limb. He had no desire to get those garments filthy.

Once Caspian returned to his spade he rubbed his hands together briskly before grasping it firmly and sinking it further into the ground. He depositied the resulting mound of dirt to the side before repeating the process. “Do you mind me asking what illegal activity I am participating in? “ He asked with a slight smirk, though most of his attention was put into digging further into the earth.

A Song to Set The Mood: So What by (who else but) Pink!
"This ain't a scene. It's a Goddamn arms race"

The sound of shattering glass reverberated throughout the bar. Everyone fell silent in an instant, "Ya' wanna try that again asshole?!" Alex was on her feet now, a broken bottle of whiskey in her fist, a glare on her features. Of course, she threw the broken part of the bottle down. She wasn't here to kill today. The man started to get up, and her glare deepened. "Ya' think ya' can just c'min here and put 'yer filthy hands all over me like that?" She pulled back her foot, only to kick it forward right where the sun don't shine. "I ain't no toy for 'yer pleasure, ya son of a bitch!"

She reached back her foot for another kick, this one to his side, but suddenly she felt arms wrap around her; big and greasy. There was a tattoo on one bicep. "Who the..." She struggled, letting out a nasty growl before her elbow shoved into the man's gut. She sputtered and spit, the air whooshing from his lungs, his arms coming loose just enough for her to slip out, turn around and punch his eye...but it wasn't enough. He came back with a punch of his own. Obviously these men saw she wasn't just any woman. And since she wasn't just any woman, it was OK to fight back. She stumbled back, falling into the bar table and knocking even more glass to the floor. She groaned...the man had an arm on 'im...but she was prepared now and ducked quickly when the next punch came at her. She was only buzzed...a bad combination when she was angry, but it didn't make her slow and dumb like the two men she was fighting. Through all the gasps and cheering that came from their audience she heard another man asking the on the floor if he could help. All he got back was a groan. Then something else came through. "]That's it, whore. You're in for it now!"

And now it was two on one. She was prepared to take them...but these men were big...and she was not. The air rushed from her lungs as she was shoved into a random table, disturbing the customers there. They groaned, and then all of a sudden three more people were in the fight. Then more and more, until it was a full-out bar brawl. She was still only involved with the first three, but a second later there were two sets of impossibly strong arms on her shoulders, dragging her to the door. Another second, there was dirt in her mouth as she hit the ground with a loud oof

She snarled and spit the dirt from her mouth, brushing off the now-ruined dress. Not like she would ever wear it again anyway. She sighed and started her short walk back to the ship.

☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼

The ship was just around the corner from the bar she was at. Conveniently located for any sailor who wanted a good meal and a bed to stay in for the night. There was more than one there actually. About three on the same street. So as soon as the big white planks came into view she sighed...half from relief and half from dread. The way she had spoken to her captain was just....out of the question. It was wrong, and she knew she would hear about it soon enough. She wiped her face off...completely sober after that fight, but filthy now. All she wanted was a nice hot wash, a good meal and to go to bed and let the next day come. But there was still quite a few hours of this day left...and to that, she let out another groan. That is...until she saw that Sin was no longer on the deck...but in her place a woman looking utterly lost, her....robotic dog maybe?...standing by her side...She was headed farther onto the ship. Toward the navigation deck. Ava, Kye and two others she didn't know were there too, and a wave of relief rushed through her. She ran up as quickly as she could, putting a hand gently on Ava's shoulder to let the girl know she was there, with only a glance at the strangers. If they were with two that she trusted, then they were alright f or now. "Ava, Kye! Finally! Sin's barkin' at something by the Captain's Quarters, go see what it is. She won't hurt you. You know that. I'll take care of the other one." She wasn't sure if either would know what she meant by 'the other one'...but it really didn't matter now. Kye was back, and if Sin was barking at anything that would be a danger, he would be able to watch over Ava, and to hold his own. Besides Sequoia, he was the best fighter on the ship.

She didn't give them time to respond before she bolted off toward the navigation deck. As soon as they took over for Sin, she'd have her dog back, and she would be able to fight fairly.

"Hey! What the Hell do you think you're doing!?" She shouted, anger on her features again. Her hand immediately went to the wrench belted at her side...the only weapon she had right now. It would be plenty if she really needed it though. "Who gave you permission to be on this ship?" Her speech back to normal...not slurred with the buzz. If she was trying to steal the ship, she'd have quite the fight on her hands.

Sequoia was happy to see that Caspian seemed like the reliable sort. Maybe a little slow, but he wasn't sure yet. It was just a judgment, one that Sequoia pushed aside immediately. He was trying to ignore the fact that Blondie was staring at his mechanical arm. It was easy to get over, being that he'd gotten used to people giving him strange looks over the years of him having it (though normally they'd give him strange looks as it was.) Even with all the judgmental people (not to be hippocratic: he knows he's judgmental too.) it was still better then having no arm at all, that was for sure! He was proud of it, and he was proud of having friends (at one point) who were nice and respected him enough to make it for him. They were such good people, his old friends were, he still felt an emptiness inside him where he knew they should be. Memories of them were going through his mind, and he smiled as he shoveled. The hole was big now, a wide trench in the ground. Big enough for at least twenty bodies.

There were to many things going on, yes that was it. The reason why he was continuously getting flashbacks, both good and bad. First it was of his earlier days when he was just an 'assistant' -more like a slave- on the Baylie, then to just the previous years aboard the Neveah.. with his happy crew that was his family, but now it was mostly just memories of his home and his grandfather.. and something else. Something that just wasn't clicking. He didn't understand it, but it really needed to stop! The damn memories were causing him a horrible migraine. Sequoia put his hand to his temple, trying to make it stop, but it only greeted him with another insight on his past. It was a rainy night.. nothing odd really, but there's a difference between odd and peculiar. Something had happened. He couldn't remember what, but for some reason that night his grandfather had him running about the entire village, or in the other room mixing up medicines that would help someone. Sequoia knew it had to so with someone in the other room, and he was acquainted with the person (maybe even friends with them at some point). Before he could really figure anything out, a voice pulled him from his thoughts. His eyes snapped to Caspian and he laughed. "Well this isn't exactly my land. There's probably tons of things, now that your in my presence. Aiding and Abetting, Harboring a fugitive, Violence of Intolerance." he said, counting down on his fingers and thinking. He was mostly just trying to freak the kid out, but it was also true in a way. It definitely wasn't his land, that was one, and that was vandalism and violence against the government, so two. Harboring a fugitive, if it was seen that way, Sequoia and his crew were pretty much fugitives of some kind of law or another, and Caspian likely wasn't. Aiding and Abetting, some of the things aboard the Neveah didn't belong to them (though neither did they belong to the people that he and his crew had originally taken them from.) Violence of Intolerance, sometimes officials had a problem with his ethnicity, and so they arrested people for being opposed to think he was below them. It had happened only once before, but it still stood as at least a slightly potential threat. "Indecent exposure could definitely be one, seein' as neither of us are wearin a shirt of any sort. Tax Evasion, Theft, I could be done in for kidnapping if you decide to plea it that way, Manslaughter.. It jus' depends on how the charges are pressed. But they won't be pressed, 'cause we won't get caught, and if we are then I'll take care of it." he finished explaining, smiling almost maniacally. Then he set back to work.

Thirty people. It'd fit thirty people. Good! That was over half at least. Gods.. but thinking about his dead crew in that way was making him wish he was digging his own grave. Something was nearby though. Very nearby. He didn't understand how he knew it, but he did, and he looked up. A girl with bright hair, white as the snow, eyes like some kind of messed up (yet beautiful) flower. He recognized her.. from somewhere. Sequoia fixed her with a hard stare. "You need somethin', ma'am?" he asked, confused. The air smelled like sage, and like cinnamon.. but it didn't seem real. It wasn't real. It was a memory.. his grandfather's 'tent' (again: he refuses to call the thing a 'teepee') had always smelled like this. But there was no time to think. Everything was happening at once! Sin was barking, but Sequoia didn't want anything to do with that dog when she was angry. The one thing he's scared of.. his mechanic's dog. Thank god Alex was coming back. With no paint..? And what in gods name happened to her dress?! His Mechanic started barking orders at Kye and Ava, which he would have no problem with if Kye wasn't a traitor (that he knows of) and Ava didn't have to strange people with her that were messing up his connection with the girl. So there was someone in his quarters..? Sequoia put the shovel straight down into the ground and held the end of it, watching the scene fold out in front of him. Who the hell was the woman on his ship, and how had she snuck past him? Not to mention the other one in his cabin.. what the hell was going on here?! "Buncha' goddamn feckin' children, I swear!" he muttered through clenched teeth, his anger (which he had just gotten rid of) bubbling back to the surface. Sequoia looked at Caspian. "Get yer things, Blondie, I think we're headin' out soon." he said. Sequoia glanced at the snow haired girl for a moment. Was this some kind of plan set up by Cyan..? Just in case.. "Come with me." he demanded, and then walked off towards his ship.

Alex came first, being that she was the only one he'd actually given orders to and had expected them to be obeyed, and they weren't. "Calm down, Alex. I'll handle it.. Could you please get your dog under control before she tears apart my ship?" he said, trying to calm himself down as well. The two with Ava looked a lot alike. The male seemed as though he knew how to fight, but that might not matter. Kye was with Ava, too. What would he do with the tactician then? Was he really working for Cyan? If he was, then he would be a part of this, right? "Kye. Go to your cabin. I'll need to talk to you later." he said sternly, unable to hold back his anger any longer. Why did this have to happen? Okay, one more to go. Sequoia's glare turned to the woman who Alex had been yelling at. "Ma'am, I suggest you get off my ship now or explain yer goddamn business." Okay! Everything was good. Sorted out. Right? Unless Kye didn't listen to him, or Alex was to drunk to understand his demand,..or if Ava was heading for his Cabin. He worried about that last one the most, so he gave her a look that said 'stay put' and pushed his confused and frustrated emotions through to her, even though the two at her side seemed to be blocking the way a little. Sequoia was just worried that there would be a threat behind the door, and if that were the case then she was the last person who he'd tell to go get it. After the short glance at Ava, he looked back to the girl on his deck. The one with the mechanical dog. She reminded him of Alex in that way.

Taking a deep breath, the girl’s glance scanned the deck around her. Suddenly, the area started to bustle with noises of people. Turning towards the ramp she took a deep staggered breath. Even after all the rumors from the bar-keep and other townsfolk, she was somewhat eager to meet this ill tempered crew.

Looking down towards Bolt, the dog started to make a somewhat.. Well… mechanical noise. You could say it was a bark. Seeing bodies, Charlie raised her eyebrows. Gripping the strap to her bag, she gripped it tightly.

A voice rang out from all the chaos. All the noise and what looked to be drama, was surely going to give the young woman a headache. She was never one for all of this and it was going to make her angry if it didn’t stop soon. She always was one to have a… well.. Not so perfect patience record. In this instant, she was taking all the time she needed to not blow her gasket because of the job opportunity at hand.

A woman in a very rude manner decided to take it upon herself to ask why Charlie was here. She assumed the ship was captained by a man named Sequoia from the talk of the town, but it appeared this woman had more authority then most. Almost, taken back by this, Charlie didn’t answer right away. She would see how the levels of hierarchy played out.

Finally, the one she knew to be Sequoia spoke and ordered his crew to maintain their composure. A welcoming thing, because Charlie.. Was starting to lose her precious patience.

Finally, the dog was under control enough to allow Charlie to re-think her opening statement to the captain.

Bolt looked curiously around at everyone, and he too, didn’t know what to make of the situation. Looking up at Charlie and whimpered, with almost a mechanical tone, she lowered her arm slightly and pet the metallic head of her robot companion.

Watching some of the crew members leave for their quarters, only Alex, the dog and the captain remained. It was a slightly awkward atmosphere. The dominance shown by this.. Alex, made it seem as if this was the captain’s lover. Of course, she would say nothing to open a bad door, and would keep her mouth shut until she was informed otherwise.

Taking a deep breath, her shoulders moved up and down with the tension. My name is Charlie De’Viare. I come from a small town back west. Mayton Ridge? Well.. Anyway… My Uncle sent me here about a year ago to help build and navigate some airships. I’m an engineer, and… some of the towns people were saying this ship was in need of one. I can assure you I know exactly what I’m doing and I could be a great help to you…. Bolt helps too. Some of the tasks are easier with him. He has a built in navigation system. It‘s small, but efficient. He can help if ever the ships navigation itself were to malfunction.

She seemed very pleased with her approach, but only the expression on his face and the soon to come answer… would give her the final decision.

"To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world."

From the distinct look in his eyes, to the solid sounds of his voice, the man continued to bring the familiar essence in feeling to Mirella. His words to ask her, of her intents or purpose of being here, came across as very viable reasons to find out why she was indeed, just standing there. For a few moments, Mirella just stood there, without an answer back to him. What could she say? When her words had finally found her, she found him trying to deal with a multitude of things around him, and it seemed she may have struck a nerve when he had spoken again. He seemed rather angry with everything happening all at once, and with how the familiarity was striking her, it seemed best not to further questions. Not at least for a while, anyways. Mirella stood there, waiting for him to lock eyes with her again, wanting more than ever to find out what strangely familiar essence had brought him to her, or her to him. When the man had next taken a look at Mirella, she had been caught off guard by his sudden returning glance and words. He simply said for her to come with him, as he strode off towards the ship. Her eyes darted around the area, even as they encountered the ship's insides. The excitement of being inside one of these marvelous creations, had pretty much consumed her. Her bright eyes and beautifully colored hair a simple testament to her soul inside, couldn't even bring her outside of whatever fantasy she was living in right now. The insides of the ship were simply amazing, and suddenly she started to think of leaving her home, leaving everything she knew of, just to sail and become a part of this man's crew. Mirella began to play with the idea in her mind, what if she were allowed to come on board, what if she could arouse the ambition to see the world and all it had to offer. She guessed that suddenly, she didn't feel very confined anymore, like she had her whole life. This was an opportunity to strike it big, and perhaps go on an adventure..

Then her reality snapped back in, as she followed the man still, into the depths of his ship, maybe even to his private quarters. When they arrived, she took a spot on the wall and quietly hummed to herself. She did her best not to let his anger at the given situation, cloud her judgment about this man. After all, (she ended up convincing herself of this), they weren't ordinary circumstances, and perhaps he was rather jumpy for a random given reason. A few people had gathered in the room by now, and they all seemed much more forward than she, much more involved in the scene as it were. She flipped her hair and brushed off her outfit, waiting for the man to turn his attention towards her, wanting only to have her questions answered, and her mind put to ease. Yet, something else drove in the back of her mind, her thoughts from a few moments earlier. If she could indeed convince the man to allow her to board his ship, she could have the chance of a lifetime. It would have to start on good behavior and a wonderful good first impression, of which she hoped she still had time to make. When it seemed to die down just a hair, Mirella actually found the courage to speak her turn. With a small clearing of her throat, she approached the man again. "My deepest apologies for coming at such a substandard time." She said convincingly apologetic. "I would just like to know why you wanted me to come on board." Her mind wanted to say 'this wonderful vessel' but she halted her mouth to just what she'd said. Her primary thoughts had reverted to the interesting sensation that she was feeling coming from him, a sort of ground sense as she liked to call it. What had her mind so scrambled with images from her past, the painful and wonderful ones...

Kye/things come and things go, but you.....

When Kye arrived back to the Neveah with Ava and her two strangers he instantly felt that strange feeling again the one he felt on the way here while passing that girl from earlier. He didn't he quite understand why cause he didn't immediately see her. He did however see plenty of new faces around the Neveah. He was was pretty surprised and was curious to exactly what happened or was happening. There was a blond rather uppity looking fellow who looked like he was hard at work with Sequioa at something. Then there was the other bolt head looking girl with the mecha dog she looked a little lost in Kye's opinion, and finally he spotted the mystery girl that was giving him the odd feeling. He was wondering a bit why she was here nay he wondered why all of these people were here. The Neveah in his opinion wasn't in any condition to ferry people around it didn't have a crew and none of these people look the pirating type. What ever the case he decided not to ponder on it. The Captain would take care of it.

Blowing off Alex's orders, he began to approach Sequioa so he could pull him to the side and get his two cents in. Kye barely listened to every order Sequioa gave him it kinda tickled him a bit the Alex seriously thought he was going to do what she said. Once glace at Sequioa face when he looked at him and it was obvious he did learn something and not the good kinda of something either. Kye knew all to well the doubtful look one gives a possible traitor. All this did is add more stress to Kye's already negative mood about today. He was at the point that he would give his left arm just for this day to end. When Sequoia dished out the simple orders Kye felt more than obliged to obey what choice did he have? Things where different between him and Sequioa their general respect for each other was waning now wasn't the time for hi jinks. Kye simply nodded his head back at him. "Aye Capt catch you later....then" He silently walked past him stopping only to pick up his cursed and corrupted blade that has been at too many of people's throat today. Thank god it didn't taste any blood. Reattaching it back to his arm he entered the Neveah though his usual side entrance heading straight to his cabin. He flopped down his his bed once inside and stared at the ceiling awaiting his judge silently recalling distant memories from Cyan and the Griffin.

It was now the he suddenly regretted not being fully open with Sequioa, but still to talk of such things to him was illrealivant. It did affect his job, but it was his own personal scars. What Captain would tell any one how they lost their own ship or his Kye case walked away from. He had never regretted that decision until now. If he stayed he would have money which he didn't care about. If he stayed he would have power which he didn't care about. He used to but he was a different man back then. Once you have been on top like that you sometimes see that its not what is all cracked up to be. If he had stayed though one damn he thing he would still have is Cyan and his isn't always sure if he cares about that or not.

will always be forever, as my scar, as my north star

User Image Ava looked around at all the new people. Her head had already been spinning before, but now it was like iut was running one hundred miles an hour. Everyone was doing something. Ava couldn't help but feel a little useless since she didn't know who to help first. She smiled and sighed in relief when she saw Alex, and she talked to them. Sin? She wondered who that was. It must have been one of the new people she hadn't met. Before Ava could take a step to see who Alex was talking about, she felt Sequoia's presence, and even more relief came over her. She hadn't seen him for a while. A smile graced her lips and she flashed it in his direction, waving wildly. But she slowly stopped when she saw the look on Sequoia's face. She was confused. Why couldn't she clearly feel what he was feeling? What was wrong?
Nonetheless, she could tell by the look on his face that he wanted her to stay put. Ava took this literally, and stayed standing exactly where she was with no intention of moving...unless she was in someone's way. Alex had walked away, going about her business, which Ava knew nothing about anymore, and then she saw Kye staring at a lovely girl, and he walked off as well. She was alone in where she was standing, but that was fine. She was a fairly patiant person. Still, she rocked back and forth from her heels to her toes with her hands held tightly behind her back, and she politely and awkwardly looked around at everyone.
She smiled at everyone and said hello to anyone who was nearby.
There was the lovely girl Kye had been staring at, a woman who looked like a mechanic as well with black hair and a red streak, and a blond boy. Those were the new faces she could see, and she smiled pleasently and welcomingly at all of them. "Hello!" she would grin. She wasn't sure if they could hear her, and she felt like a welcoming comittee.
Stella and Dimitri glared around at the ship. This was where Ava had been all of these years. They both stood beside her, unpurpously in a defensive stance. Stella noticed that she seemed happy, so that eased her tension a bit. But she was suspicious, nonetheless. Dimitri was a little more straight forward. "Who was that man you were standing with?" in a skeptical manner. Stella had the same question, but thought it might be rude to ask. And coming from Dimitri's mouth, it sounded worse. "My big brother!" She sxclaimed naturally with a smile. Dimitri flinched a bit. That was by far the worst hit Dimitri had ever taken in his life, and he had taken a lot of hits. Stella noticed this and chuckled, enjoying his pain a little, since it was a rare thing to come buy. "Calm down, Dimitri, she doesn't know" she chuckled. Dimitri ignored Stella, too torn to pay attention, and Ava hadn't even heard or noticed what was said after she had answered Dimitri's question. She was too curious and interested in what was around her to pay attention to much else. For some reason, it felt natural to be around them

A Song to Set The Mood: by_______
"This ain't a scene. It's a Goddamn arms race"

It had always been hard for Alex to take authority. It wasn't that she wanted to be rebellious, or that she wanted to make trouble. No...for here there was a legitimate reason. If she felt something, she went with it. If she thought something was a good idea, she did it. If she felt it was wrong, she avoided it. This was one of the main reasons she had been unable to hold her thoughts back within the past few days. With all the stress of the battle...and the loss of so many friends...it had set her over the edge. Now she spoke her mind more than she should have, and didn't hold herself back. But...this time, she agreed with her captain. She could hear the stress in Sin's bark. She knew that stress. Sin wanted her prey...and though even the dog knew not to mess with Neveah...a dog was a dog...and she couldn't fight her instincts for long. Alex nodded at his order and ran off, leaving the rest to him. It was a good thing really. The only reason she had given those orders is because she had been the only one on the ship at the time...and there were people invading. People just walking on without reason. It did not work for her. So she took action. But now, she took orders.

She ran off in the direction of her four-legged friend. It wasn't far of a run, and she made it without a heavy breath. Sin saw her arrival, and backed off the door. Her barking turned to growling, alerting her master of her find. Her prize. Great Danes were not known to be hunting dogs...but this one? Well let's just say that there was a big difference in this dog. She threw a dog treat to her...a small reward for such an act. But she would be getting a good meal tonight, and that would suffice. "Thanks girl. You did good." Finally, Alex herself approached the door, banging her fist hard enough to make the wood shake, yet not hard enough to break it down.

"Open this door ya' damn stow away! And don't even think about comin' out armed! It'll be the end of ya!" And, just in case, Alex reached into her bag and pulled out a few tools. She wouldn't break the door...but she'd take it off it's hinges if she had to.
User ImageLillieth ignored the dog as much as possible and just dozed off in her drunken state. Eventually being able to tune out the animal and drifting into a peaceful slumber, well almost. As soon as she fell into a dream state and the dog, she believed she heard the name sin, stopped there was yelling from the doorway, a woman's voice, though there wasn't a hint of it in her tone.

She rubbed her eyes, smearing eyeliner all down the side of it, and got up groggily putting back on her white, and now wrinkled, skirt and collared shirt "damn-it to hell!" she exclaimed irritably "cant let a women get any sleep can we?" she said rather loudly trying to sort herself out as much as possible as she answered the door "what exactly do you want? you know you are being quite rude, don't you?"
