The man who smiles when things go wrong . . .

Antony, at that moment, could say that he was in a pretty good mood. He had a pack of cigarettes in his pocket that he had lifted from a passerby, a nice full wallet, again from the same passerby, and most importantly, his black suit jacket was freshly cleaned and looked perfect over his white V-neck. Antony didn't have a cigarette in his mouth at the moment, but he was thinking about lighting one up. As he walked down the streets, he spotted the school and gave it a mocking smile and a rude gesture with one of his fingers. Then he spotted a familiar face amongst the Ordinaries and he decided to grab some company. He circled around until he was facing Seph's back and then walked up behind her. When he was close enough, he grabbed Seph's shoulder and in a loud and rushed voice, said, "Whatcha doin' Seph?" as he gave her a light shake. Then he looked over her shoulder and spotted the insects. Making a comment before waiting for a reply, he said, "Playin' with the critters, eh? I thought you grew outta that?" with a teasing grin.

She smiled weakly. It always felt good to have a reliable family, even if not blood related. Tasia stretched and stood up. "Yeah, probably will get suspended. Might as well have fun before the teachers catch us," she said in Brooklynne's direction. Or the police,

she added to herself. They didn't really look old enough to be out of school yet. But no matter, she thought. Not like the clans haven't been involved with the police before.

Brooklynne smiled, "Of course. Has there ever been a day we skipped we didn't have fun?" She asked, also standing up and stretching. "Why don't we go get some ice cream or something. Y'know, something good for the soul?" Brooklynne asked Tasia.

"Yeah, that sound fun. But, um.. could I get a few Band-Aids first?" Tasia pointed to her bloody knees. Then she stood up and stepped back, making sure to step far enough so that she wouldn't partially be off the curb and slide. Ice cream, ice cream. I wonder what flavor to get? Tasia shuffled through her memory finding clues to where Brooklynne was exactly. She hoped she hadn't moved as she cautiously slid over to her friend's side. Nope, you got it right, she told herself. "We better leave before the teachers know we're not coming back,"Tasia said.

Brooklynne nodded and then remembering her friends condition said, "You're right." She smiled as she started walking up the street. She turned when she was a few steps ahead, "You ready?" She asked Anastasia, noticing she didn't even ask her before taking off. "What's wrong with me? Forgetting everything..." She thought, rolling her eyes at herself.
