 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxMaddison Lionrose
Maddi's eyes fluttered, than slowly opened. It was cold, and something kept slamming into her back. Realizing what was happening, she quickly moved out of the way, standing. Her mother looked down at her, shaking her head. "What did you do this time?" she asked. Maddi sighed, looking down. Nothing. Nothing at all. she thought, but she didn't dare speak the words aloud. Her step father, drunk as usual, locked her out of the house during nightfall, and Maddi had fallen asleep on the doorstep. It was typical of her mother to think her daughter had done something wrong. It's what her new husband told her, and he wouldn't lie.
Handing Maddi some money, she gave her strict instructions to go get food to make dinner tonight. Maddi nodded, heading off down the road, in a white peasant's dress. It was dirty from sleeping on the doorstep, and her hair wasn't perfect either. These things had stopped bothering her years ago. Her purple eyes glanced at every store, unsure what she was meant to be buying. If she didn't make the correct meal her step father wanted, she was likely to be sleeping outside again. She looked up at the two girls heading to school, frowning. She was home schooled, but not very often. She looked away, at the ground, walking for awhile, than finally glancing up. She spotted the man with the long black hair, instantly taken aback by his beauty. Stumbling, she tripped over her own feet, grazing her knees. She sat upwards, examining her knees. Not much blood, not serious at all. She reached over and grabbed the money she dropped, annoyed at her lack of balance.
