God damn it. I'm sounding like a depressed idiot! he mentally cursed himself, running a hand through his mused black hair. Smoothing it out back on his head, he saw the man pull up a chair next to him. His face was smooth, unchanging, but his thoughts were a little angery. He wanted to play more. Eh, might as well be at least poliet for almost staring a whole in the guy's head. Eyeing the hand that he put out, he shook it with a strong grip for a moment before retracting his hand, placing it back on the glossy body of the guitar. "Luke Etherin," he told him, green eyes a tone lighter since his mind was in the dark gutter anymore. Watching the man's eyes, he noticed that they were full of curiosity and questions. Mentally groaning, he waited for the questions to start. He knew it was going to come at him like a wave, and he was just sitting in the boat, waiting to die.

Zephyr gave a small smile and nodded. Luke... it was a cute name, and one you didn't hear too often. It was almost sexy, but Zephyr drew his mind away from that train of thought. "Heard you playing before," Zephyr said, almost like a question. He didn't have many questions, they were bubbling beneath the surface, but he didn't want to creep the guy out with a bunch all at once. He was itching to learn about Luke, to know everything about him, to see why he'd been so sad before and why he'd so suddenly seemed calm. Zephyr realized his questions weren't that small number he'd once had and mentally kicked himself and his curiosity, but still kept a hold of himself.

Zephyr's lips turned up into a small, but breath taking smile. Luke felt his heart pump under his chest, each beat faster. He drew in a deep breath to keep from fully having his heart beat out of his chest. This guy was different already. Something about him reminded him of Kris, and that drew Luke to this man like a fly to sugar. Maybe it was the caring look in his eyes when he noticed Luke was down? Maybe it was the questioning gaze he held? He couldn't pinpoint it exactly, but he felt it in his mind and body. Directing his attenion back to Zephyr, he heard him say something about his playing. Nodding, he replied, "Yeah, that was me. It was a song that I wrote when I was younger. I could play it again if you wanna hear the whole thing." Mentally slapping himself for offering to play in front of the other male, he held his gaze, eyes sharp and piereing.

"I'd love to hear it," Zephyr said and laughed at himself, setting the ever-so-slightly-warped stapler on the floor beside his feet. He felt like a little kid sitting next to his first crush and trying to be the perfect person that he thought his crush would want. He tossed his head so his hair would flip to the side, something he hadn't done in ages but he'd felt would be right. He felt so awkward around Luke, it was weird. He didn't try and figure it out, the prospect of Luke playing for him was more important to his brain and his thoughts that figuring out what was wrong with him. "That is if you don't mind playing." Zephyr added finally, his thoughts going back to how Luke had been acting before. He didn't want to impose on Luke's private playing, and who knows.. If Luke was anything like Zephyr was with his designs, he might not like playing in front of others. Zephyr left it up to Luke.

Luke couldn't help but smile at his laugher. Such a pretty sound... Blinking to keep his thoughts in check, he wiggled out his fingers a little, rubbing his thumb slightly to make sure it wasn't getting sore from playing. Usualy, it happened after hours of playing, but it's been a while since he last played. His lefty green eyes flickered up to him when he spoke for the second time. Offering him a humored smirk, he replied, "If I didn't want to, I wouldn't have offered to play." His tongue flickered out against his snakebits for a moment out of habit before Luke's entire face changed to a peaceful look. He kept his eyes open just long enough to make sure his fingers were in place before he strummed the first note of his song. His green eyes slipped shut as the rest of the song came to him naturally, his fingers dancing along the strings and frets in a familar pattern. His speed was spot on; a few notes he missed, his fingers slipping up on the frets a little. His hands were a bit sweaty, meaning he was nervous about playing for another person. But, this song was an older on, meaning he was more comfortable with the song itself.

Zephyr simply nodded at Luke's response, watching as he seemed to mentally prepare himself before playing. To Zephyr, it sounded beautiful and amazing. Luke clearly had a lot of talent and loved to play. The way he slipped his eyes closed after he'd started playing, the way his fingers expertly seemed to dance along the strings from fret to fret. It was brilliant, and Zephyr couldn't help but smile. He was amazed that someone could write something so beautiful. I guess beautiful things can come from beautiful people, he thought, but he was still clearly impressed. The song had a sort of renaissance feel to it and it gave him an idea for a design. A renaissance style peasant's dress, but with a modern twist. Maybe a chocolate lace bodice and bit of pure white chiffon for the skirt, white silk underpinning and a butterfly twist of black satin crepe at the hip. He could see it in his mind and his hands itched to draw it. He held the image of the dress in his mind, trying to memorize it so he could remember it later as he finished listening to Luke's song.

As he played, Luke felt a slight sence of saddness wash over his mind. I-I wrote this song for Kris, he thought, swallowing dryly at the feeling of tears ready to spill from his green eyes. Squeezing his eyes tightly for a moment to make sure he didn't cry, the last note of the song fadded into the distance. Slowly opening his eyes, he looked at the boy's glossy eyes, his own serious but also pained from the memories. Drawing in a deep breath to keep his emotions under control, he faked a smile at him, failing at looking semi-happy. "So? What do you think? I origally wrote it for a friend of mine, so it's might be a little to personal to actually fully understand." His words were like bullets at his wounded heart. His face was completly smooth and composed though from months of practice.

"It's amazing," Zephyr said, and then out of the frustration of Luke appearing to have withdrawn behind a mask of nothingness, he asked, "are you okay though? You look... I don't know, like.. like something's wrong." He said, not wanting to outright say that Luke looked like he was about to put a bullet in his head or a knife to his throat. The mask that Luke had put on, outwardly composed and expressionless, showed to Zephyr more than Luke probably wanted him to see. Zephyr wasn't an idiot, and years of drawing people in extravagant clothes had taught him to read faces and eyes quite well. He could tell that Luke was hiding something and it hurt his heart to see him that sad. Something had clearly happened, and if Zephyr had any experience in helping his friends, he was gonna be damned if he didn't try and do something about it.

Offering a sad smile at his complimate about his music, his eyes flickered with pain again when he asked what was wrong. Rubbing the back of his neck with his hand, he looked down for a moment, silently debating to tell him or not. I don't want to start sobbing in front of this guy I just met, but he's too sharp to try to convince nothings wrong... It was a hard choice, but, sighing in defeat with himself, he looked back up at Zephyr. "Well... Ya see... The friend I wrote this song for disapeared a few months ago. And they still don't know what happened to him," he explained, not willing to go any farther into his deep, pulsing wound then that. Managing to keep the tears out of his eyes, he let out a deep breath he didn't know he'd been holding. This guy reads a lot into a person, he though, unaware that his eyes have been giving away his pain the entire time.

Zephyr nodded, wishing he knew what to say to bring a genuine smile to Luke's face. He knew how hard it was to lose someone, though the fact that Luke's pain had the added weight of the unknown facts of what happened to his friend made Zephyr's understanding a bit less than perfect. Zephyr's grandfather had passed a few years ago, but at least he knew what had happened to his grandfather. Luke didn't have that luxury and the pain had to have been really terrible for it to still be there today when, as Luke had said, his friend had disappeared months ago. Zephyr wanted badly to help him, and he probably could, with his sense of smell - but it had been months, and with the weather around Forks it would be impossible to decipher the smell from the scents of rain and wet pine.

Gathering his thoughts, Zephyr took a breath and held it for a moment before speaking. "Well, I don't really know what to say to help you feel better, and considering we've only just met I wouldn't be surprised if you got creeped out for me trying. But from what I've gathered, you're a great guy, and seeing you sad... I'd like to be your friend if you'd let me," Zephyr said, trying desperately not to sound like a total clingy, creepy, stalker-esque guy. If he didn't think the guy would hit him should he try, Zephyr probably would have hugged him. But Zephyr did think that, and he'd seemed - to himself at least - creepy enough already towards Luke so he tried to back off from being all up-close-and-personal, and act like a regular guy. Whatever that was.

Slowly, Luke managed to regain his composure, breathing deeply and steadly out of his mouth to keep the tears from slipping down his face. This shouldn't still hurt, he thought, staring desperatly at his shoes. The urge he had to play and sing, by himself, was starting to eat at his heart. Pushing that thought back into his head, his eyes -now less pained- flickered up at Zephyr when he spoke. His lips turned up into a small, humored smirk when he said that it would be creepy for him to try to help. To Luke, it wasn't really. It was more of a friendly, caring thing then a creepy stalker thing. The word 'friend' took him back a little. Well, that was expected, but at the same time it wasn't. Shaking away his non-sence thoughts, he offered him a small smile for at least trying to help. "I'd like that," was his reply, trying his best to not let his eyes give away his true feelings. In truth, he would be more then happy to have such a caring friend. Most of the people he hang out with could give to shits if he was depressed.

Zephyr started feeling a bit more confident about his actions when Luke seemed to calm down a bit. And when Luke smiled, though it was small, it was as if he'd started floating and he had to subtly grab onto the edge of his chair to belay the feeling that he was going to float away. His own lips turned into a smile, though it was clear his was more happy than Luke's had been. "Good," he said, still smiling. "I was starting to think I'd have to hug the sadness out of you." He said, laughing slightly as he spoke. It was a lame joke, but it was true, and hopefully it would get some sort of reaction from Luke. Just then though Mr. Shawgo's head poked into the room and Zephyr's smile deflated, though only a little. "What is taking you so long, boy?" Mr. Shawgo asked him. Zephyr sighed and gave Luke an apologetic look before picking up the stapler and getting to his feet.

"Couldn't find it," Zephyr said, only telling part of the truth. Mr. Shawgo gave a grunt that showed his disbelief, taking the stapler from Zephyr. "Well what in the world did she do to it, it's warped!" Shawgo said examining the stapler that clearly wouldn't be working any time soon. Zephyr flushed a light red color and said nothing, offering his teacher a shrug. Shawgo shook his head and tossed the stapler in the trash can beside the door, speaking to Zephyr as he walked off, "Come on then, this ain't lunch time." Zephyr licked his lips, glancing behind him at Luke. He chewed on the inside of his lip for a moment before asking, "Meet you after class?"

Luke found it a rather strange action for Zephyr to grab onto the edge of his seat, like he was afraid the chair was going to fly away or something. Mentally shrugging, he watched the other male's lips turn up into a smile. It was a wonderful site to see him happy, and better because it was Luke causing it; why else would he have smiled. The cheezy little joke caused a small chuckle to bubble up from his throat, though his thoughts held another responce. Truth be told, I wouldn't have minded. Luke did that offen, talking to people in his head like they were really listening. It was his way of filtering out of what came out of his mouth so he didn't say something he would reget later. The teacher popped in a moment later, asking about the stapler that Zephyr had. Smirking quietly to himself, he watched the exchange between the two males, taking in both of there actions. When Zephyr turned to him again, bitting at his lip, Luke nodded at his question. "Yeah, sure." He gave him another small smile, hoping to milk another smile out of him before he had to leave.

Just as Luke had been hoping, Zephyr gave another smile. He couldn't help it, it was like Luke was some sort of emo teddy bear that was just begging to be loved and squeezed until the stuffing ran out it's ears. Giving Luke a two finger'd salute, he left the music room, shutting the door so if Luke wanted to go back to playing he'd have his privacy. He heard raucous laughter coming from the Art room, but it was normal. When he went in he saw that people had started working with clay, their current art medium, and somehow managed to begin clay art on their own bodies. A blonde girl whose name he knew to be Nichole had 'TREEON' on her forehead, whatever that meant. Zephyr shook his head and went to his work station, his clay had gone relatively untouched, one thing to be thankful for.

Luke felt his heart beat slightly speed up at the sight of the other's smile. As Zephyr slipped away through the door, Luke felt his face burn with a blush. God damn him... he mentally cursed the male for making him blush. It was akward for him to blush in any way shape, form or for any reason. Sighing softly, he returned his thoughts to his music, though it was pretty hard for the boy. Drawing in a deep breath, he decided to start singing a little. Maybe it would help take his mind off the world for a while. To be freed from this phyiscal world and allow him to become part of the wind, part of the music.

The shrill sound of the bell ringing didn't interupt his peacful song. He took another few mintues to finish the song he was on, before sighing, letting his hands hang free against the body of the guitar. He had a 'friend' to see now, so he couldn't take too long and he still had to get his bag. Gently placing his baby into the velvet bed of the case, he carefully closed the top, snapping the brass clips down to fully lock it. Putting it back into it's normal place, he quickly exited the room, sliding down the hall to get to his locker. Flicking the lock around to his numbers, he tugged once he put in the numbers, feeling the lock unclip in his grip. Opening the locker door, he pulled out his black, jean material bag, slinging it over his shoulder. Locking up the locker again, Luke's green eyes flickered around the hallway, wondering were Zephyr's locker was.

[[He's pretty funny. Yeah, sounds good. I skipped to the bell so Zephyr can find Luke when he done at his locker, or whatever.]]
