Corvus narrowed his eyes when she pressed further with questions. She had practically come out of no where in the midst of the Khaev highlands, and she appeared to be a warrior of some sort. Could she be a spy? He ruled that possibility immediately; this woman was responsible for that gunshot earlier, and there were nothing but Khaevs on this side of the continent. Unless that gunshot was for one of the Khaev escorts from Zerum Athos...
Corvus half-turned to the faces of his nervous comrades as he thought to himself. She was being civil for the time being, but there was no guarentee that it wouldn't turn to violence. He resolved to play this little game for now, just to see how she would react.
"I came here originally to question them as to the origins of a sword that was just recently stolen from me. Supposedly on the hilt it said 'The owner of this sword is the first of the two hundred'. When I arrived, a Khaev nobleman sent troops to escort to bring us to them. The rest," He motioned around him, "Is as you see now."
He made a point to naming his old sword and the one who sent escort, just to see her reaction.
