Riik winced painfully as Megan hugged him, the torn muscles that resided in his upper back screaming in silent agony when they were moved. He hissed involuntarily, then clenched his jaw, not wanting to offend Megan, although he didn't really think she would be all that offended after considering it a moment. Then he fell over backwards, toppling and landing with a thud, as Megan, who had been mostly supporting him, suddenly became less physically supportive as she leapt back.
He hissed again, loudly, and very nearly screeched, the landing having been almost as painful as the actual fall.
Can we go inside now? he managed to think, then glanced up-forward to see what Megan was talking to. All he could see was a tree and several bushes, so he sat back down, and the pain lessened, so he looked up again. Standing-- hovering, actually-- in front of Megan was the faded, transparent figure that was the form of a spirit. He couldn't tell who it was from that particular angle, though, and he couldn't exactly get up, so he decided to wait.
((Good. Putting your real name all over teh interwebz-- not a good idea.))
