BTW, it's pronounced "Rick", by order of my new decision. Actually, just type it. "Screech" sounds like a terrible name, but Rick makes even less sense as a name for a depressed vampire, so just think of it as the letters it's made up of and don't pronounce it. That didn't make any sense. Oh well.)) |

My birth certificate says that my name is Danica and I'm 15 years old. ((seeing as we're all 15 year olds who act 16, which would make us the average sophomore. i'm also somewhat iffy on the name. if i change it, of course i'll let you all know)).
It's obvious if you look that I am a human. My weaknesses are all of the things that come in the beautiful package of being human. Does being human make me powerless? Or am I suppose to be some sort of supernatural human? I like being different. Because of my human personality, boys that don't know how to dress themselves irk me. If you're a vamp and I know it, curios but cautious. If you're a human, mysterious. |

Danica blinked the sweat from her eyes as she slowly made her way down a winding street. The heat was almost unbearable. Glad to finally be out of school, she let out a low sigh. Almost every day, Danica walked home from school and thought about how pointless everything was.

Danica rounded a corner and her large, spacey house came into view. She lived at the edge of the forest. Elysium Forest surrounded the crowded town in which she lived, and many stories were told about vampires living in that forest. Although, many people go into Elysium Forest for their own particular reasons, and only on rare occasions do they not return. Danica often wandered into that very forest on her own. Never before had she encountered anything out of the ordinary.
What was to come would be an utmost surprise... |

"Danica? That you? Hi! Got any homework?" yelled Jane, Danica's mother, from the family room.
"Yeah. Not a lot though. Why?" inquired Danica as she walked down the hallway, heading towards her mother's voice. "I was going to send you out to get something for me at the mall. But it's ok, I'll get it myself. There's some other stuff that I've got to do in town anyway," replied Jane. Danica passed her mother in the hallway who was on her way out the door. The two of them looked extremely similar. They had the same deep brown eyes, and blackish-brown hair. ((will be finished later. g'night.)) |

((from now on, i'm going to write my story bits in purple to help distinguish characters. i'll do my best, but i might slip sometimes. i've edited all of my other posts to match. note, when i talk to all of you ie. like this, it'll just be black.))
Jane flew out the door with car keys in hand as Danica wandered into her room. She flopped down onto her spacious bed rolling over on the black duvet. Gazing at her purple wall, she let out another sigh. Forget about homework, she thought to herself. Quickly, she sprang to her feet and flew out the white front door. Barefoot, Danica casually strolled into Elysium Forest, humming to her favorite song. She loved music and she sang, "Ba da ba ba da ba ba da." From the many times that Danica had sauntered alone into the forest, a well worn path had slowly appeared on the leaf-covered ground. She followed this path deeper and deeper into the trees. The vegetation began to thicken, and the undergrowth grew steadily wilder. After a while, the path began to disappear, and Danica was wandering around the forest aimlessly. She came to a halt and craned her neck to peer around a large bush. She had just heard leaves rustling from the other side of it... "Hello?" she whispered, and then raised her voice, "Hello!? Is there anyone there!?" Suddenly, a medium built boy, around her age peered around the bush. She recognized him from school. ((Darg/Riik, this would be you on your way back to Megan.)) "What are YOU doing here?" he asked her. His voice was very quiet; and Danica had to strain her ears to hear him. She knew that she'd seen him at school before. But she couldn't quite remember his name. Danica racked her brain for a memory of him... But nothing came up. She looked closer at him and realized with a gasp that he was a vampire. |

Cree slowly backed away turned around, and ran. Ran as far as he could to get away from the body. The house! He could hide in the house until this thing was over. As he ran by he saw some girl he had seen from school and the other vampire from earlier. He had no time for either of them though, he had to get into the house. He entered, shut, and locked the door behind him. He ran to the back and made sure that it was locked also. Then he ran upstairs and locked himself in his room.

Riik flitted through the forest, heading back to the clearing, Steve following close behind. He thought for a moment about what he would do when he got to the clearing, but then decided it would be best not to think about it, so he just observed the forest around him. A squirrel leapt from a nearby tree, but Riik didn't feel like going after it. As he walked on, he took a deep breath, worrying about the male vampire, but he knew he had to return. Breathe in... Human! He almost hissed out loud in fury. Those nature-ravagers, though he had to cope with them at times, were most certainly not welcome in his part of the forest. He heard a crunching noise from a bush and stopped, ceasing all movement except for a flicker of his pulse. A dark-haired girl was looking at him, her face a confused jumble of recollection. He hissed softly, so as not to call the other vampires from the clearing. "What are you doing here?" he asked her angrily. His eyebrows furrowed deeply as he waited for her to reply. Stupid humans, he thought frustratedly. |

Though the vampire had asked her a simple question, Danica was not sure what to say. For she was not in the forest for any particular reason. "What are YOU doing here?" she countered. This caused the vampire's glare to deepen. Many people would have been frightened by this, but Danica was not bothered. Silence filled the air as the two stared each other down. Neither refused to look away. Of course, Danica, being human, had to blink, but it did not lessen her stare's ferocity. "Can I help you?" Danica suddenly asked, almost polite. Her sudden change of attitude threw the vampire off. She could tell that he wasn't really following her chain of thought, and she smirked. Must have been turned a LONG time ago, she thought to herself. |

Megan suddenly appeared next to the human and the vampire.
Steve! she smiled, picking up the cat. She looked at the vampire, gaining some of his information from her cat. "Making friends, Riik?" she smiled at him. Best be polite to him. He seemed to have an ablitlity with animals like she did. He could be a good team mate one day. She smiled again at him, setting her kitten down. |
