"Unless they beg for mercy--kill them all," she shouted so her troops could hear. They sat silently in waiting, watching the hunter's castle. Megan looked and saw the first rays of sunlight come over the horison. She turned to Riik and gave him a sad smile.
"Thanks for agreeing to be my team mate all those days ago," she kissed his head one last time, stood from her crouching position, and pointed her sword at the castle. She shouted one word, "Attack!"
The war had begun.

"The honor is mine," Riik replied, and the vampires charged as one towards the castle. Several doors were smashed down, and as the largest of the parties flooded in through the main door, Riik and Megan among them, he began to feel uneasy. Why, he couldn't tell. The feeling dissipated quickly as he stepped to the front of the party and ran the first guard through with his dagger, kicking the body aside and charging headlong into the fray.

Megan rushed ahead with the rest, the sadness she was feeling gone as soon as she entered the building. This was war--there were no emotions.
She darted up the stair where Caleb was approaching with some of his men.
"Megan, what are you doing?" he asked, "Where is Algernon? Your General?"
"For the last freaking time--I am the general." she said, angry. She held a sword at him. His eyes filled with regret, then anger.
"Then let it be," he growled, and the two entered a daring sword fight.

Riik and the other vampires made short work of the men Caleb had brought, sheer numbers and skill bringing down the hunters, though many vampires fell to the humans' blazing guns and knives. Still more hunters poured through the entrances to the room, which apparently must have been some kind of living quarter congregation area, as there seemed to be an endless supply of armed enemies waiting to be slaughtered. It was a difficult task, protecting two people at once, and Riik soon found himself and the others in a semicircle around Megan, his back nearly brushing hers as they fought the masses that swarmed endlessly out of the corridors despite the number they'd killed before.
Riik ducked as a knife flew past his head and embedded in the wall before his eyes. Turning around, he could tell it had been thrown by Caleb, who, unfortunately, still wasn't dead.
"Need any help, Megan?" he asked her, parrying several slashes at his heart from a pair of hunters that seemed oddly intent on killing him. He was tired, not overly, but enough that he could tell his energy was leaving, though his sword still moved faster than the hunters'.

"No, dear, I got it," Megan said, and with grave effort, she lungged at Caleb, striking him in the stomach, making him colapse to his knees. The whole room came to a dead silence as Caleb gave an agonized scream. He looked at her, regret in his eyes.
"Why did you do this to me, sister?" He asked. He had his back to her, and slowly reached into his back pocket for a knife as he talked, ready to kill when able.
"Because all I did was love you, and all you did was hurt me!" she said, now angry.
"I'm sorry, sister," he said, about to pounce on her with the knife.

Slashing his first opponent mortally across the stomach, disarming the second and draining the latter of blood while they glanced to Caleb took only a few seconds, and once Riik felt reenergized, he stood and quietly moved beside Megan. He had little doubt in her abilities, but she was angry, her perception clouded. Eyes flitting back and forth, he waited, suspicion of the hunters that stood encircled hovering about him.
He saw Caleb's muscles tense, and immediately raised his sword in front of Megan as the enemy general leaped for her, knife extended. Steel met steel, and Riik's arm was twisted backwards, though Caleb's attack was deflected, missing Megan by a couple of inches.
A boom sounded from behind Riik and he felt the hot metal shard of the hunters' guns tear into his back, embedding itself in his right shoulder. He whipped around, hiss-screeching in rage, and lopped off the extended arm of the hunter that had crept up behind them as they watched Caleb, who had planned to shoot them both.
The battle resumed in a split-second, and many of the hunters crumpled to the ground, the vampires having run any nearby humans through at the first sign of harm to their leaders.

Megan looked at Caleb, tears of fury in her eyes. She let out a growl, and pinned him to the wall with her sword.
"You're a monster," she hissed.
"No," he said quietly, gasping, "You're the monster..."
A second or two later, he was dead.
The first war wave was over, but more were to come. It would take the hunters at least ten months to get a new leader, so the vampires would be able to live in peace till then. As the hunters and vampires disipated, Megan gave a last look at her once beloved brother, body mounted lifelessly on the wall. She turned away in shame, and walked out of the large roon silently with Riik and the others.

Cree felt icy coolness flow over him. He felt a burst of all around pain and he seperated from his body. He watched as a group of algernon's gaurds and the man who killed him put a blanket over his body. He drifted away silently towards the battle he knew was going on. He watched as a strange man was killed by megan and...WHAT? Why is he here he thought as he looked at riik. He saw him kill a few hunters and he was conviced that riik was good. He then just floated there, above the battle, unsure what to do next.

((Yeah totaly...wait what r u talkin bout?))

"Shame we lost a good sword," Riik commented through clenched teeth as they left. He, like every other fighter present at the battle, knew there would be more to come. A war could not end after only two real battles. Hatred, among both races, ran far too deep for that. Still, the hunters as a group had been crippled, and they would need a while to recover. Until then... he didn't know what he would do.
I'll figure it out when I get there, I suppose, he decided. If I get there, he added, glancing down at his bloody shirt and wincing.

((Why ten months? Why doesn't the second in command take over?))

((In the musical, when Arthur beats him, he gets pinned to a wall by a sword and left there, alone, in the woods, with no limbs. Then he begins to sing, faintly, "Always Look On the Bright Side of Life," and the scene ends.))

Megan walked on, tears in her eyes.
"It was for the good of the clan," she said silently, "The clan goes before the heart."

((Well one they didn't have a second in comand--they were stupid, hee hee--and two if the war happened bam! bam! bam! it'd be over with too fast.)) ((Poor Dark Knight!))
