Once the Battle Claw docked, it’s crew leaked out of the ship and into a flashy yet defensive formation on the port floors. The last figure to leave the ship was a tall and impressive looking man. His impeccable military outfit was littered with badges of high merit. As he gracefully walked toward Rig, who was waiting to meet with the captain of the ship, his boot rang out a strong and fierce-some sound, echoing against the metal walls of the hanger.
As the military officer came closer to Rig, a terrible recognition hit the poor mechanic. He knew who this was. Lieutenant Commander Li Xhu. The Militant Xhu family had been long standing friends with his own. Unconsciously Rig shaped up into a polite military stance, one used when addressing those of high rank. Mey looked down from the control room in bewilderment. It was very un-Rig.
Commander Xhu looked down at the young mechanic in amusement.
“I want my ship repaired in one hour. Exact.”
“Yes, sir.” The ‘sir’ was sharp and strong. Rig did not dare look him in the eyes.
“Perhaps I was wrong about all Misfits being disrespectful. Unless of course, I was wrong about them being a Misfit to begin with.” Commander Xhu toyed with the idea.
“This is a neutral port…sir.”
“I see.” Commander Xhu stopped to take in a good look at this mechanic.
“I won’t tolerate another slip up on my ship. Though, you should thank me for it looks like you don’t have any competition now.” With that Commander Xhu left the hanger and proceeded through the tavern.
The second in command, the Officer from the view screen before, ordered the crew to the tavern to give the mechanics their space to work. She was sure that the Commander’s threat would hold enough to keep the mechanic in line.
Once everyone was out, Rig let out all the tension and nearly fell over.
“Are you alright boss?”
Reclaiming himself,
“Yeah, it’s nothing. Call all the back workers, I want this N.E. ship out of here in less than an hour!”
“Boss?”
“What?”
“Well, another ship has arrived. And it looks like the Norad II”
And that was the straw that broke the camel’s back. After standing shell shocked for a second, Mey piped in.
“Do you want me to take care of the Norad II?”
“Please.”
((and note: Commander Xhu really did kill Lubbar, the owner of the other repair shop, for his betrayal))
