Welcome to Gaia! ::

The “Trade and Stay” was facing its demise. With it’s water supply poisoned, anyone who drank water from its taps or from the tavern bar, would soon feel their body shutting down. They would not die right away; rather, their muscles would stop functioning. All of Rig’s team members were now facing this awful fate. Anyone who entered the “Trade and Stay” would see all the mechanics and visitors, anyone who had even the slightest sip of water, immobilized. They saved what movement they could manage for their lungs, to keep breathing and hope for some sort of salvation.

This was, of course, the doings of Dr. Albrooke’s potion, forced to do so by our lovely villain, Commander Xhu.

With Lubbar dead and now the “Trade and Stay” shut down and their main mechanic gone, there was no commercial spot to go for repairs. The Norad II and the Grey Gale were sitting in their hangers, still waiting for their repairs.

Meanwhile, the N.E. spy was carefully making his way through the streets of Garguron. His destination was the far side of a plateau that overlooked the city where his small, agile ship waited for him. He knew he had to link up with the Battle Claw in space to give his report to Commander Xhu. He checked his timer and saw he still had about a day before the Battle Claw would reach the agreed coordinates to rendezvous.
Though the crew of the Grey Gale became satisfied with an order of ale, Duncan's nerves were not so easily calmed. Something was not right, something crippling. The dark-skinned man usually followed orders to a T but this time he debated going back to the "Trade and Stay". Just to check things out with the Grey Gale. He waited for a few minutes before standing and calling the attention of the crew to him. "I'll be back, stay here and don't leave this room," he said before he pushed his shades back up and walked out of the room.

Duncan walked across the Akuda dance floor and people parted for him, not because he was the first mate of the Grey Gale but rather he was big and mean looking. Thank the Nebula for sunglasses, he thought as he entered the streets of Garguron. The sun was beating down on the inhabitants of the city who were going about their business.

Something is not right, he decided for sure once he reached the "Trade and Stay". Cautiously he stepped inside and a complete look of shock covered his face. He removed his shades and stared wide-eyed at the barely living bodies that lay everywhere withing the "Trade and Stay".
"Buisness is the same as usual but a little better every time...stealing from military space stations is no fun after all,"he laughed a bit as he walked along side her.Something bothered him deep down but he couldnt put his finger on what it was, only that it bothered him greatly."Has business still been booming for yourself Raven?"he had to take his mind off the matter and focuse more at Raven at hand.He failed to notice some people inside taverns and buildings, especially the "Trade and Stay",,just falling down in pain. His conversation was soon cut short as he computer started beeping,"Who could that be?"he pulled it out and answer it,only to find a beautiful woman on the other side of the line,"Ah Faith...what can I..."he stopped, seeing her face with a serious expression.

"Ok..whats going on?"he said a bit agitated,he knew it was bad news, and he hated bad news. She nodded,"Sir..N.E. Forces had secured the docks...they then left along with Rig...he was in a very cheerful mood...it would seem that leaving would be a very bad idea considering you know how Zhu is when he is cheerful about something.."Fayt nodded,"Indeed...I do...even so make sure the ship is ready...inform the crew on the situation and let them know to meet up at area CW-1...and make sure they know to move slowly as to not alert anyone..."she nodded as her response for understanding before cutting the line before it was traced.Fayt looked to Raven,"It would seem like we are going to have one hell of a time here shortly.."
She nodded, just then Duncan came out of the "Trade and Stay". "Any survivors?" She asked quickly becoming the professional type of captain most expected from her.

"Barely, the head mechanic is missing."
".... Not our problem."
"Xhu has taken off with a fully repaired ship and there are no other mechanics that sell their work to any ship in need."

Raven sighed, now it was her problem. She felt a sense of duty to the other Misfit ships in need of repair badly. "Round up the crew, don't let anyone else know what we are doing though," last thing she wanted was a frenzy. Duncan nodded then started off at a jog to the Akuda club to round up the crew of the Grey Gale. "Fayt?" Raven turned back to her fellow captain, "Is your ship flyable?" She knew she would need help, though she hated admitting it.

(( Dad's makin' me get off the compy now, night! ))
He smiled and gave her a thumbs up,"Good to fly..good to fight!"He ran off after her, figured it would be better to talk on the go then stand around and talk. His crew slowly gathered at the back door of the hanger. It was a well hidden door meant for emergency use only so not many people know of it except Misfits and hanger personnel. For what is going on,the door was in much needed use.

Faith, who was the Archangels' second in command, had started to bring the Nuclear Fission reactor online as well starting up the engines in standby mode. When they were up and running she checked the docks to see if anyone had noticed the ship coming online. To her greatest pleasure,no one had noticed, with a smile she brought the ships weapon online, knowing they will be needed should a battle be required to leave. After the weaponry was on she activated the AI system that was integrated with the ships main core, this AI was not a normal computer program, but rather a living human being that is nurtures in a tank filled with a special liquid for giving the body nutrients as well as keeping the body animated, the most state of the art system. The AI just happened to be a female, she only allow the XO and captain to enter the Main Core chambers, not even Royal Misfits was allowed inside. When the AI was awaken a hologram appeared next to the captains chair, she looked at the XO,"I take it my services are required Commander?"Faith nodded her head."Bring the entire ship online silently,as well as give me any reports on damages and reactor status.

The AI nodded and the hologram disappeared, inside the tank her eyes opened, bringing up screens around her tank.On one screen held the ship, meant for damage reports,on another next to it was the reactor status.Other screns on the tube held status on weapons, armor, and other information.Slowly she brought the ship computers online and navigation systems, once everything was online with the exception of outside lights she reappeared on the bridge."Damage report is...minor...minor damage consist of damaged wires on decks 3-6 section A-C...suggest replacement.........Reactor Status...input normal...output normal...reactor...stable...temperatures..normal.........Ship status....online.."
Commander Xhu strolled through the corridors of his ship. He was scheming very carefully how he would handle the ‘prodigal’ son of the McCoy family and more importantly, the trap he had to set for Princess Odalia and the Red Steel. He knew the Grey Gale and the Norad II had been stationed at the McCoy boy’s shop. Surely the boy would know something about the Grey Gale and the Norad II that would point out a weakness he could exploit.

It was decided. He needed more information before he could take any action. But he had to be quick. The Royal Misfits were sure to be after him soon. And if they weren’t, at least he could extrapolate information from Rig. He had twenty hours before his spy was to report in. If the spy had some information on him, then surely he would have all his bases covered.

Twenty hours was plenty of time to squeeze information out of the McCoy boy. He didn’t graduate top of the Torture Procedures class for nothing. But first a thank you was in due to his favorite doctor. Without her help, this plan couldn’t have been set in motion.

Knowing he could find her at either the ship’s library or her lab, he tried his luck at the lab first. He heard her inside, working on something. He decided to knock and wait for a response.

"Come in!" The young female shouted without looking over her shoulder, to occupied in her experimenting.

She took an eye dropped, filled with a small amount of chemical, and dripped in onto a microscope plate before sliding it under the lens.

"Extraordinary..." She whispered in amazement as her eyes beheld a great sight. The molecules from the clear liquid seemed to have multiplied from the molecules of the poisonous blue intoxicant, causing some sort of...
"An antidote..."

Her eyes went wide for a second, and then it had hit her. This discovery should be kept a secret. From the captain, the crew, and though she hated to think, the "Trade and Stay". She placed her hand on the handle of the graduated cylinder of clear contents, and got up to put it in a special refrigerated cabinet. That was, before she noticed captain Xhu was the one at the door.

"Ah-er." She placed the gallon back down, and stood at attention in spite of the captain's earned respect.
"I'll hail you once we get airborne!" Raven called starting off at a run to go get teh Gale. Though she hated to use her implant, she doubt she could be picky. Gale, she said after focusing on the Grey Gale's frequncy pattern. It was painful at first, like a throbbing pain in the back of her head and neck. Bring up the ship's systems, ready everythng for flight. And make sure we have weapons operational! She recieved word back from Gale that the A.I. was bringing all systems up around the time she was having to carefully jump over the bodies of the "Trade and Stay" patrons. Nebula help them, she thought hearing them gasp for breath as she jumped over many of them to reach the door of the secret hanger her ship was in.

Raven flung open the door and quickly made her way to the ramp of the ship and up into the Grey Gale. "Gale, status?" She asked still keeping the same jogging pace all the way to the lift that would take her to the bridge.

"All systems are check however, shields have not fully recharged. Only ninty percent currently restored, Captain," Gale's voice echoed over the intercoms in the relatively unoccupied ship.

"It's flyable," the woman said, only to make note of the fact she did not have full shields to herself mentally. Last mission she had used quite a bit to get past the defenses to the storage spacestation she had robbed. And that was nothing comparable to what Xhu-xhu had planned for her, she was sure of it. It took at least another twenty minutes before all of her crew was onboard the Grey Gale and ready to take off. When Raven gave the orders, Gale remotely hacked the systems of the "Trade and Stay" to open up the hanger doors above the ship. The pilot, who was more of a fill in pilot for whenever the captain did not want or could not fly the ship herself, eased the Grey Gale up into the open air. "Hail the Archangel, filter off," Raven commanded the crewman in charge of communications as the captain paced the area in fornt of her chair. The captain used two ways of communicating with other ships mainly: filter off so they can hear everything and filter on so that they can only hear the captain speaking. The crewman nodded and signalled the Archangel as the Grey Gale ascended up towards a low-earth orbit around Garguron.
Xhu had watched as Chris stored away her latest work into a freezing storage. He normally would have thought nothing of it, but her body language and expression gave something away. Was she stunned to see him?

“I just wanted to congratulate you on a job well done,”
Commander Xhu said sincerely. “I am very pleased to have someone with your talents on board my ship.”

Rig woke up to a hard, icy surface pressing against his face. He opened his eyes only to find pitch black. Judging from the pain around his entire head, he could only assume they had placed a face container on him. He could not speak nor see nor hear with this device on. The world quickly became disorientating without any way to perceive where he was expect for the icy metal surface below him that was unpleasant to the touch.

He wondered where Mey was. Was she still alive? Was she ok? Ever since he met her at age ten, the granddaughter to his mechanic master, he always felt like an older brother to her. Kind of like Duncan to Raven, the thought just popped into his head. The Gale and the Royal Misfits. Were they ok? What about the “Trade and Stay?” And crap, worst of all, Commander Xhu knew he was of the McCoy family.

The face container was doing its job. Without being able to observe or focus on the outside world, his mind went racing with thoughts. And not exactly happy thoughts at that. All sorts of horrible possibilities were promising, with all that had happened in a short time.

No, calm down, he told himself. He had to remain calm. He anticipated Commander Xhu would be interrogating him soon. And if he were in a state of uncertainty about everything, he would break easier. He took a long breath in and held it. Then he focused all his mind power into a particular memory. It was back in the time of his short-lived military career. The lesson for the day was about what to do in a captured situation. Center your focus. If you can, make as many observations about your surroundings. Don’t give in to the enemy’s satisfaction. If you must die, die with honor.

If I am to die, then that is how I want to be: honorable.

(( You're not gonna kill of Rig, are ya'? o= Just curious... ))

Being able to create highly toxic chemicals was not really an acquired talent...simply, all she had to do was mix a few highly, killer compounds together, and viola. Not that it would knock them out dead cold immediately.

Was it her, or was captain Xhu being a bit rather too flattering? And instead of feeling flattered, she became nervous...the different kind of nervous when he was around. Chris then felt herself leaning back against the table, her hands positioned behind her to keep her body against it as she came up with something to say to him in response...
"It's my pleasure, to satisfy you with as much gratification." Her voice was quiet, hesitant.
Ah jeez, she knew she should have stuck with the simple,'Oh, anytime sir.' or,'Glad I could be of services.'
Anything that told him immediately she agreed with his plans. Rather, there was a tension that lingered over her head...
Xhu half smiled at her comment. “I’m glad to hear that.” However, could it have come at a worse time? As he wished to pursue further (perhaps ask her to meet up with him for dinner or something) he had other matters that were a bit more pressing. He had a job to do. And the mission for the Empire had to be first and foremost. Though, at a time like this, I wish it didn’t have to be. It was a cracking thought to his otherwise stubborn and loyal demeanor to the Empire and it’s Supreme Leader.

And he realized it. He leaned away from her in reaction to it. “Things might be getting rough soon. I advise for your safety. A ship without a doctor is useless. I’ll see to it that some of my best officers secure off this area.” Right. That’s why he had to take extra precaution for her safety. They needed a doctor. At least that’s what he kept telling himself.

He nodded at her to bid her farewell. He didn’t want to. But then he remembered he had an appointment with that McCoy boy. He turned to leave.

((and no, Rig is not going to die. Rig's my main character! razz Besides, Xhu would be stupid to kill Rig. Though...if he blamed it on some Misfits....hmmmm. But no! Not killing my main character.)

(( WHIPPEE!! Rig lives! And Chris'll prolly have to patch up his dismembered body afterwards? o= ))

As soon as he had departed the room, a breath escaped her mouth, seemingly one that she had been holding a while. It was moments later she recovered.

"Right, back to work..." She returned to her table littered with notebooks with scribbled inscriptions, and picked up her old-chewed up pen, placing the tip to a vacant page, and came up with nothing to put into memo.

Suddenly, she fumed with frustration and let her head drop to the desk. It was so...boring...in the lab now. Nothing else to work on, nothing further to discover.

"Ugh..."
((More than likely she'll have to patch up Rig biggrin But first! I got one looonng torture sequence to write. And where is James? >_> need that spy to come to Xhu before the insavion. Or suppose it could happen afterwards. Gives Xhu back his hopes of winning))
When both Raven and Fayt were running his crew had arrived and infultrated the docks, making there way past anyone suspicious towards the ship. They knew what to do when they muster at that one location,so silently they moved in the shadows, then boarded the Archangel where they seperated to there positions and awaited patiently for there captains arrival.Fayt followed Raven through the streets and into the hanger where he parted to his ship,he was the last person to board,"AI..close all hatches to outside and seal the ship..."he yelled the moment he put one foot onboard. The AI recognized her captains voice and complied,Fayt continued to run to the nearest Hover lift that would take him to the bridge. The lift sent him up and up,opening the doors to the bridge, the bridge crew stood up and turned,"Captain on the bridge!"Faith yelled just as Fayt appeared through the lift.He walked onto the bridge,"Start getting us out of here..AI Hack the docks and open our hanger...Helmsman...when the doors open ease us out of port."Just as everything was going on the comminucations officer turned around,"Sir we are being hailed by the Grey Gale!"Fayt walked over to his seat and sat in his chair,"Ill take it here..."he said as he opened a sound only hail."Greetings once again Captain Raven"he said after calming down a little bit to catch his breath.
Raven stopped her nervous pace and took a breath before replying, "And to you, Captain Fayt." Raven moved and took her seat in the captain's chair. "No doubt the Battle Claw will be waiting for us. With luck on our side we will have him out gunned," she sat up straight with her legs crossed in the same lady-like manner she usually sat in, even if the two captains were communicating through a sound only channel. Something told her though that Commander Xhu was not just running blind. She motioned for the crewman, rather a reptilian woman, to do a scan for the Battle Claw and other ships that belonged to the N.E.

"What are your takes on what Xhu-xhu will do, Captain?" Raven hoped he did not think for a second that Xhu would be without a plan. Maybe it was her past that made her more accustomed to what N.E. leaders would do.

Meanwhile the crewman at the pannel that controlled scanning for enemies turned around and reported, "Cap'in, sensors indicate the Battle Claw is the only en-ee ship within the area around the planet."
