Welcome to the Outer Zone

Far in the future, what started off as space colonies have grown into flourishing galaxies under the control of a central government. Bureaucratic, glorified, and expansive, the Neo-Earth Empire (N.E.) likes to believe that the "Misfit Problem" is under control. Alas, with all great and expansive territories there are those who break the rules and love doing so. Space Pirates. Fearless, ruthless, and seekers of untold riches. They had the whole span of the empire's lands to plunder and pillage. Life was good, the N.E. was weak and every pirate captain had their own territory to plunder.

That was then, ten years ago things started to change. The N.E. went through some changes and became stronger, and started hunting the Misfits...

4. Please stay within the PG-13 range.

The World Now…

The N.E. is under a new leader, Supreme Leader Dimitri A. Welingash. He’s young, charismatic, and a ruthless leader; there are no undecided people to him for you are either useless or useful. And for the past five years he had been in command, nominated after his father’s term as Supreme Leader was done with. The Welingash family has turned the lives of many of the Misfits up-side down and inside out. Many were captured and perished in the gallows and prisons of the N.E.

Those free-loving Misfits who are still alive and kicking have been forced to retreat to the parts of the territory that are farthest from The Hub (nickname for the central solar system that includes Calscandu). One system within the N.E. territory is the Freeman’s System, named after Freddy Freeman the first of the Misfits. It’s a place where the law is an eye for an eye still, money is the greatest asset, and those seeking protection from the iron hand of the empire may hide with relative safety. The main planet in Freeman’s System is Garguron, a desert planet with one massive city being the only civilized and public outpost. Garguron is not a safe place but the best place to find some one or something of interest.

Notes~
~ There are no "cross-breds" of any two species but there are, however, subspecies of a single race.
~ The level of technology varies depending on the amount of money and relative area of a location. The inner systems have advance holographs that look life like, robots and other such technology is sleek and clean looking for the most part. Poorer planets have things that look hardwired together and "safe" and "sleek" are not popular words to describe things.
~ There are guns that fire laser blasters and are popular. More then likely someone will have a laser blasting gun over an old-fashion bullet gun.
~ Misfit is the nickname of anyone who defies the N.E., the "Royalty of Misfits" are the greater space pirates. Only four "Royal Misfits" will be allowed total, everyone else has to build up their legend as a Misfit.
~ For plot summaries of the story thus far it is easiest to ask in the OOC thread. For full character profiles, go to The AM Database

More notes will be added when needed.

(( Ky you nitwit, read the rules blaugh I'm letting you slide cause you're my brother and I love you so ;P ))

A dark skinned, muscular man strode down the ship reapair dock. He was tall, somewhere around six feet, with deep red dreadlocks, black eyes and wore heavy combat boots, dark pants, a grey shirt with the sleeves torn off, and fingerless gloves with little metal spikes on them. He projected the typical "Dun mess wit me" attitude making those who stood in his path part like the Red Sea. Truth be told, he was an honest man and a sweet one too. He only showed his true personality around certain people, one of them being his captain. "Cap'in," he called to a woman he towered nearly a foot over, thick accent coming through loud and clear. "They're gunna start thuh repairs soon now," he joined the woman by her side, she was leaning against the wall waiting for him to report back.

"Good! Let's go make some mega platniums now, Duncan," she smiled at the man who nodded and followed Raven out of the repair dock area, down the crowded hall, and out of the "Trade and Stay" into the even more crowded streets of Garguron. If the smells did not get to you, some of the people might. Luckily, both Raven and Duncan were use to the bustling trade and hide out city.

A silhouette stepped out into the busy city of Garguron, a thin luminescent figure with reflective, silver hair and gleaming topaz eyes all but dressed in simple, sophisticated fashion. She was tall, overlooking the streets and staring at a group of young teenagers smoking and shouting dirty words over on a street corner. In fact, the city was littered with them...

Chris was alone and taking advantage of the few hours of break she would have before her crew set off into the wonders of space yet again, just to bring down an army of resistance fighters. "Misfits" were what they were called, but she always had a more intelligible name for them, if not everything.

The albino woman found herself in a crowd of dark skinned civilians under the mild, desert sun, only she was looking for something to spark her interests, and was not on such a really tight a schedule. The only supplies that she had not yet marked off her list were a set of books she had ordered a month before and was just now coming in to see if they had shipped in or not. As for now, she had a good several blocks before she reached her destination...

Raven walked beside Duncan, her walk was fluent and confident. "Locksley better have the platnium for the full shipment. It's always a bother when we have to go searching for a decent buyer," she commented to her first mate, he nodded in agreement and scowled at some teenagers on the screen corner who shrank away from his glare. Raven smiled and shook her head, turning round a corner and going down some steps into a well known dance club and bar. "Akuda" was the place to go if you had any private dealings to do. Security was tight and fighting was highly discouraged.

((Whoops! Haha...should actually read slower next time sweatdrop ))

The poor, weathered Gale Grey was a dreamy sight for the overzealous Rig. Never before had he seen such a beautiful ship in such a god awful state. After inspecting the interior and exterior of the ship, he looked over the repair checklist in his hands, and seeing that every box was checked off, crumbled up the list and chucked it over his shoulder.

“What d’they do? Run her through a meteor shower?” he accused while setting off to get started. He knew he could fix her up no problem but was concerned if he would have all the parts he needed.

"Ugh..." The sun was beating her down, and as of this moment a long walk to the bookstore didn't seem so a splendid idea to her. Her eyes wandered around trying to catch sight of a nearby building, and the only place her eyes could catch was what she recognized as a bar.

Moments later upon entry, the woman found herself sitting at the far corner of the front counter, her elbows upon the granite surface and her eyes locked on a far digital clock that measured seconds along with its minutes.
Only one hour in counting...
She let the cool air conditioning settle her down, ignoring the few stares by a few customers that could decipher her as an N.E. personnel instead of just Dr. Christiana Albrooke.
"Uh..."

(( We only took her into a mine field! Shesh! ))

The bouncers didn't bother to stop Raven and Duncan, they knew their faces well after all Raven Fitzroy had a reputation about her. The music in Akuda was loud and had made almost anyone want to dance on the crowded dance floor. Raven made her way through the bar up to what appeared to be a wall while Duncan headed for the bar to order some drinks.

Two cat-like women, dressed ornately with feathers and sparkles carrying large fans, looked at Raven awaiting a response. "An honest bird am I, seeking trade amongst the stars," the young captain repeated her code phrase and the woman did a little dance, opened there fans, and covered Raven from view. When they resumed their statue-like pose, the young Misfit captain was gone.

Duncan placed the orders for him and the captain and turned, scanning the area around the bar. He's eyes fell on a woman who was obviously out of place. To this he raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms over his chest.

(( Nya. Duncan's gonna beat Chris' @$$ D; ))

What in the world was she doing here, in a bar located in Misfit territory, where pirates were most likely to lurk. The woman turned her head, only to find that a dark skinned, tough-guy looking man was looking at her rather suspiciously.
Idiot... She called herself as she quickly hovered over a menu and pretended to contemplate on what to order. All she had to do was mind her own business and not do anything relatively stupid and she'd be left alone, right? She sure hoped so...

(( He's a sweet heart... okay not to N.E. people but rules in Akuda are "no fighting or else" ))

In reality, Raven had walked through a hologram made to look like a real wall. It was like a one way window for the squid-like alien who ran business through his bar. "Locksley, how good to see my favorite squid," she smiled her playful, sly smile at the alien sitting at a comfortably cushioned stone booth.

"Well if it aint Captain Raven Fitzroy," the alien said looking her up and down, "What are ye doin' here?"

"Interested in trade?" she kept her smile as she took a seat sitting with her legs crossed in a very lady-like fashion. "I've come into a large sum of very valuable merchandise," she started looking out through the one way window-wall hologram, "Let's just say the N.E. will miss it greatly and demand is high for it here in the Territory."

Duncan walked slowly over to the woman's side and with a finger pointed to a dish on the menu, "Try 'at. It's'n't crawlin' or movin' when it 'omes out."

(( Sorry for the wait. >< Making power point for physics project...))

"Ah-um, sure..." Her lips formed a grim line to the man's request as a waitress made her way over to their area.
"'Alo ma'am, how may I help ye'?" She had her pen and memo pad ready, and Chris noticed the robotic left arm revealed by a sleeveless top she was wearing.
"Um..." She nervously looked from the man and then back to the waitress.

"Boss?" a woman's voice squeaked over the sound system at the repair docks of "Trade and Stay." There was no answer to her call for Rig was buried deep in the ship's haul where the thrusters were located.

"Boss, are you there? We have an urgent call." Again silence answered her.

"BOSS!"

A loud CLANK cracked in Rig's ears when his skull kissed metal, alarmed by the explosive voice from the speakers. Crawling out the haul of the ship, he rushes over to the intercom and presses down the ‘transfer’ button. “What is it Mey?”

“We have an urgent request for docking from an N.E. ship.”

Rig released the button for a second to swear. Then resuming himself. “What do they want?”

“They say they’ve been cheated by another repair shop in town. Which mean’s Lubbar’s shop. You know he hates the N.E.”

“And we are the only other option for them. Right. Well, I don’t like them too much myself, but bring them in, though…” Rig looks over the Grey Gale, “Stall them for me, will ya? I’ve gotta hide this beauty.”

"Ello, Sally," Duncan bowed his head to the cyborg waitress. "Told 'er to try thuh Star Buster. Only thin' that ain't crawlin' really," he took a step back and a few steps away from Chris. The drinks had come out, he picked up the glass with a green liquid in it and took a few gulps of it.

Locksley sat up, "You got energy crystals?" Raven nodded and glanced over at the squid alien smiling again.

"Fair market value?" She asked returning her gaze back out towards the dance floor and bar.

Locksley pushed a few buttons and out popped a silver card, "Take this to the bank, usual one, and it will transfer the platnium to your account." Raven made a move to take the card but Locksley pulled it away. "Shake on it first girl, have ye lost your manners?"

Raven shook her head, "Forgive me, forgot you were honest." They shook hands and the deal was struck.
