Byruku laughed lightly when Ren blushed.
"How did I what?"Byruku asked, smiling as he lowered his hand from her cheek. He picked a napkin off a table, and wiped his hands off with it. "It does seem that you need a guardian, and I am well equipped for the job. By the way, nice icework."Byruku commented, and he grabbed the end of the mop. He heated his hand, and all the ice melted off of it and puddled on the floor.

.....And burn to the dead ash left behind.

Ren looked at him confused. "Guardian?" She asked, she watched the ice melt. He had ablities just like her. She left her cheek, there was nothing left but a little bit of extra blood. She wiped it off. "What do you mean guardian?"

Byruku smiled sweetly, and he released the mop. He took her hand, and led her to the staff room in the back of the resturant. He pulled her in, switching on the lights. He closed and locked the door, checking to make sure no one was outside.
"A guardian, as in, a guardian angel, that's why you're attracted to my odd nature."Byruku said, shaking off his long black leather coat. He threw it on a table, and his wings grew to match his body size. Like how the size of a bird's wings is measured by their body mass.
"I am now your guardian angel."Byruku said simply, smiling slightly.

Ren looked at him, she was speechless. She never believed in guardian angels. She reached out his a hand to lightly touch one of his wings pulling away quickly. "I never believed in you guys before, I thought you would stop my family from being slaughtered." She shuddered remembering the night. She looked up at Byruku and gave a weak smile, she was still unsure. She sighed and leaned her head agianst the wall. "This is a lot to take in."

Alex tapped his foot, music playing in his ears. He hummed a little under his breath, stuffing his hands in his pockets and closing his eyes. Sniffed the air. Someone was coming, he could feel it...smell it...but from where...? He looked skyward casually, blinking.

Sophia studied Alex for a moment. So this was the human was to protect. She shook her head he seemed intreasting to her. She shrugged on her coat that hid her wings and stepped out of the alley towards Alex.

The boy's eyes flicked to her. He smiled slightly. "You can take off your coat, y'know." To any passing eavesdropper who didn't think to do their work too closely, his words would have sounded like garbled Yiddish. "It's kinda funny that you guys do it. I know why y'do--wings're a pain in the a** to retract'n'all--but it's still funny. Makes people wonder if you shouldn't go through metal detectors, those big trenchcoats." He strolled over to the Angel. "But, then again, are you looking for me?" he wondered, still speaking in the tongue of the Angels (though only one of them would have noticed the thick, distinct accent of human speech in it).

Sophia smiled and let out a small chuckle. "Your smart boy," she said walking over to him. "But thats what you gotta watch out for, not all angels are like us guardians." She said her tone cold. "You don't want to say that to a fighter." She removed her coat setting it in her arms and let her long black wings fan out behind her. She smiled at Alex. "Well Alex, I'm Sophia and I shall be your guardian."

"I know."Byruku said, walking up in front of Ren. He placed his hands gently on her cheeks, and lifted her head gently off the wall. He smiled reassuringly at her.
"Even I couldn't have stopped that, I wasn't even on earth then."Byruku said. "I just decided to be your guardian this moment."Byruku's wings twitched once, and he could sense that another angel was close, at least one that wasn't of opposing nature.

Ren frowned and slid out of his hands. She grabbed her jacket and put it on. "Yeah I guess," she sighed and then smiled. "Well we should get going, I have been off since this place fell." She unlocked the door and walked out.

Byruku nodded, his hands falling to his sides. His wings turned small again, and he slipped his black long coat over them. Byruku followed Ren, keeping silent with his movements and voice.

Ren got to her aparament building and smiled to herself. She finally had her own place, but then frowned remembering she lost her job. She sighed and walked into the building grabbing her mail. She glance back at Byruku and smiled. "No need to be silent." She said waiting for the elevator.

Byruku shrugged.
"Bad habit, I guess."Byruku said, thinking for a few seconds. "I'm sorry you lost your job. I would like to suggest that you let me work and you go to school."Byruku said just as the elevator clicked open. He stepped in, holding the button for Ren.

"I dropped out." She frowned. "I'm exactly going to get into the greastest school around." She stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for floor 8. "Besides I am getting my GED over the computer, I will have my scholarship this coming spring."

"Ah."Byruku said, as if it were nothing. He hadn't dropped out of his school, although he wished he had because of the hard fist that ruled it. "So i'll get a job with you, I need to be able to know where you are at all times, not meaning to sound stalker-ish."Byruku said, smiling slightly.
