Daniel stood at the bow of the Nightwind, his hand holding a support cord and standing on the railing, the goggles covered his eyes, one a cross hair monocle set over his eye so he could focuse more on what he looked at, the other was set as a normal lens. The many contraptions about the goggles were different things, scope, magnifying monocle and other things at random... A nightvision even. The high altitude mask was necessary with the low oxygen available to him, he loved the feel of the air on him. The scent of peaches reached him, the hydrium was being let out? Had the captain spotted a ship?

He lifted the goggles and squinted, through a cloud off to his left he smiled, there was a cargo ship. Dan didn't know the name, but he knew he'd have to get ready for a fight. Quickly he swung around, landed back on the deck and took off to the door where he'd left his guns and equipment inside. He snatched up the small assault rifle, the many contraptions on it made it difficult for someone to use, but not him. Switches changing single shot, burst or fully auto, a scope that swapped from night to normal in a click and a large drum of sixty rounds.

Soon the boy was back outside and grabbing one of the assault grapples along with many other soldiers aboard ready to attack the cargo ship. A smile pulled itself to his face as he aimed the machine to the other ship's hull, just where it wouldn't leak it's precious hydrium. What could he say, they were pirates, but not full fledged murderers. They didn't kill without reason, usually having to never shoot a gun. Dan didn't want to shoot anyone, he'd only done it once killing the man and knocking him off the ship. The shot didn't kill him... The fall did.

"Ready?" His commander asked and raised his clockwork sabre before waving it out for them to fire the grapples, soon they were sliding down with their guns, Daniel in charge.

"Alright! Put your weapons down!" He yelled and aimed the gun, his high altitude mask giving a soft hiss as it released carbon dioxide and he waved the weapon around, switching targets to those who had guns. It was set to single shot, he didn't want to shoot the airbag... It was highly flammable and would explode if shot. Dan could feel themselves going to be rich... They'd hit the next pirate city, maybe pick up a few recruits. Each person would get a nice share, and there were few people on the ship, at least ten soldiers down there and ten crew in the airship.

About three hours later, Dan sat on the ship, his high altitude mask around his neck, his goggles on his forehead and counting cash. The cargo ship had sent word that they'd been attacked. The only time the name of their ship was released was when they docked in a citizen town when absolutely necessary. The young man sighed and stood walking over to his bed and laying down, the door to his quarters was locked and he smiled to himself. "God... So much loot of mine."

Cassie Bonesaw

Cassie stood above a man who's pointer and middle finger she just finished re attaching. Move them. She spoke coldly the man looked at her flustered. What? But you...you just- Move them... she crossed her arms and watched his fingers twitch and bend slightly as he cried softly out of pain. Shut up it could have been a lot worse. She grabbed a needle flicked it and injected a clear serum into his arm. That should stop the majority of the pain. She wrapped up his fingers and pointed him out of her quarters he scurried out quickly. Sighing she grabbed a mop and started cleaning the blood off of the floors. I need a drink... She spoke aloud to herself and continued cleaning the floors.

Dan set some things he scavenged from the cargo ship and flipped the magnifying monocle over his eye and pulled out some of his tools from his desk and went to work, he was appraising some jewels he'd snatched and was examining the metals. They could be used for so many things and he knew just what he was going to do with it. With all the things he'd gotten he could probably make a new comm system, seeing as how the one in his altitude mask was broken, maybe even fix some other things around his room, such as his real sniper rifle. The long barreled gun had broken it's firing pin and also it's trigger works, this had made him mad and he knew it was the longest shooting weapon they had on the ship. Daniel pulled the gems from the necklace and examined the metal, the doctor had requested they buy some more needles at the next town. He knew he could probably make a firing pin out of their next raid. The boy set his altitude mask off to the side, it was heating his face and he didn't like it.

"Damn this work..." He grumbled and set all the jewels in a small box, it was nearly full, all of diamonds, emeralds, gold, other valuable gems and the like... However, silver and steel were used to make certain things, mostly needles for the doctor and sometimes firing pins for guns. Iron, copper, bronze and aluminum were used for equipment and spare parts for the airship, though, steel was often the thing they used most... Not an often replaced thing, only when something broke. He'd even scavenged off a few of the many cargo ships overstocked hydrium tanks. Nightwind would last much longer now. They kept all the hydrium they could, seeing as how the gas would counteract the container it was often kept in's weight. Soon he set the silver off to the side and then blinked, he had an extra firing pin? He smiled and stuck it gently in his spare clockwork section, mostly what he replaced parts with. Dan sighed and picked up his small box of silver material and stood, the metal would make plenty of needles for the doc. He walked off to the small smithing area of the ship, his own little room and he heated up the smelter and stuck in a panful of the silver. When it was melted he took it out and poured it slowly into the mold, his goggles over his eyes and his altitude mask used to guard his face from the intense heat. He closed his eyes when he finished pouring the first, then continued to the second, and so on...

After about forty minutes after he poured them he tilted the mold upside down and heard the soft chime of the needles on the anvil before he began to check them for impurities that might infect the spot it would inject at. After he did so, he dipped it in alcohol and then swabbed them down. Placing the magnifying monocle on again he checked them over for any possible imperfections. Pleased with his work he placed them all in his small box again and walked out of the smelter room and headed for the infirmary where he knocked softly on the door. "Hey doc... I got ya those prickers ya needed." Daniel sighed and waited for the woman to answer him.

Cassie Bonesaw

She looked up when she heard a male voice. She leaned on her mop and looked him over didn't notice any wounds then she saw the needles in his hand and smirked. She walked over to him her leather boots thudding on the deck. Thanks I was down to two usable ones...the rest broke of in a few arms. Needles are a pain in the a** to get out you know. She barked a laugh and wiped the blood off of her face and onto her skirt. So any more men I need to stitch up? You need any mending? She put the mop in the corner satisfied with the cleanliness of the floors. She didn't recognize the man she looked him up and down. So anything good from the raid other than these? She examined the needles carefully bringing down the strongest magnifying monocle off her headband.

Dan chuckled, new doc huh? He'd been here ten years... Never once saw her. "Nah, I'm unharmed lass." He gave a nod and leaned in the doorway. "Already checked 'em over, nothin wrong with 'em." The smithy said and crossed his arms over his leather clad chest. Dan stood awaiting her to accept the freshly made needles, they were still warm to the touch, but not too hot to handle. "Give me what ya got and I'll see what I can do with 'em." He said his goggles still raised onto his head after having walked a few yards to her room. "And ya, we got a few gems. Diamons, rubys and other thins. Not much special really." He said his Celtic voice rather velvety to the ear, and kind of deep. Daniel's ocean blue eyes watched her examine the needles hidden under his black and white colored hair that was spiked back. The altitude mask hung around his neck lightly, having loosened it so it wasn't actually around his face.

He looked and watched a couple of their commanders walk by explaining the shares everyone got off the raid, though they gave Dan the doctor's seeing as how he made her needles when they were needed, also being an alchemist he could make her the medicines she needed. "Anythin else ya need?" He asked hinting at meds and other antibiotics, though his speech made him seem kind of dim witted, he knew what he was doing. His legs were crossed at his knees, his left leg supporting his weight. Another soldier slipped past him, the man having taken a good punch to the face apparently from another crew member and Dan shook his head. He knew the boy, a rookie soldier who seemed to have angered someone of much more experience. "Aye, I'll leave ya to yer job." He said and turned to walk back to his quarters... The ship seemed so empty after that other pirate attack, he couldn't remember the ship though, but it was bigger than the Nightwind, and it unnerved him. If they found them again, they'd be in deep trouble.

Cassie finished looking over the needles. They're good thank you. She yawned slightly her southern drawl more prominent when she spoke. No sir I got most everything I need plus I can make the basic and some of the advanced meds meself. She sighed softly as the young man walked in. Damnit boy I told you to stop gettin' in fights with the other men!...I need a drink. She pulled a flask off of her belt and took a swig then clipping it back on. She gave the man a small salute as he left Names Cassie by the way maybe I'll see ya at the around captain! She grabbed the boys chin roughly examining the wounds on his face. Cassie may be young but she has quite the temper and is a bit vicious. Well he got a pretty damn good hit on ya boy. She grabbed his nose and snapped it back into place scoffing slightly when he cried out in pain. Oh shut it. it's yer own fault. She placed a metal brace on his nose then cleaned his face with alcohol sighing frustratedly every time he winced. She stiched up a few gashes on his face then sent him out the door. He muttered a quiet thank you and she wiped his blood off of her face then walked down to the bar with a smile on her face.

Dan had slipped past his room and into the small bar, the remaining soldiers in there, and one bartender... He wasn't really part of the crew, but everyone accepted him well due to well, he gave no care to laws on drinks. The boy ordered up a pint of ale and drank quietly at it, sitting in a corner to himself. The mess hall was quiet even after their victory on the cargo ship, they'd let it go with quite a bit of the cargo only having taken things of use to them. They needed money, and a captain... At the moment, the crew was only raiding to make it's way back to pirate city. Daniels mind went back to that night, the night he fought hard for his life leaving him and only the navigator, another soldier and the captain alive... The wheelman died later too, they were lucky to have picked up the people they had now. Those creatures flooded his mind, only a blur and unmemorable except their horrid cruelty and such... Dan closed his eyes and sighed heavily, his mind going back...

"Captain? Captain! What the hell is goin on?" The young man asked as the sky suddenly went dark, Daniel rushing out of his cabin with his revolver in hand, the cylinder held ten shots, and was semi-automatic. He held in his other hand, the small clockwork like cutlass he typically used. He remembered it was still day out, and they hadn't even headed east or west, only south, slight east to hit the next town to refuel on hydrium.
"Daniel, get the hell back in your bloody cabin!" The Brit gunman said holding the shotgun, it was obvious it had been fired, the younger soldier heard it, and the fading screams of falling men... Suddenly something lept from above and took the Britain male down, with a loud shriek making Daniel put his hands over his ears before staring in horror as it ripped the man up, blood splashing out and he screamed loudly. Without another moment of hesitation, Daniel aimed at the red eyed creature and fired, twice... It fell off and squirmed before getting upright.
"What the hell?" Dan said holding the .44 with both hands and fired into the evil face... It lept, hard at him...

Dan snapped from it and cursed himself taking another large drink from his ale and stared at the brownish liquid in the clear glass. The scar still on his shoulder and side made him subconsciously grab it. "Will that ever go away?" He asked himself quietly.

Cassie pulled the ribbon from her hair and shook her head softly as the deep brown locks fell past her shoulders. She walked down to the bar only interrupted by two men who seemed to have found a way to tie themselves up. She got them loose easy and slapped them upside the head for worrying about the rope burns. It's a rope burn not an acid spill so shut the hell up and get back to work! She was obviously stressed for her accent was stronger than it was at the beginning of the day. She walked into the bar and saw the man who made her the needles sitting at the bar. As she got closer he grabbed his arm convulsively curious she sat down next to him and tapped the bar. When will what go away boy? She smiled as the bartender handed her a beer and she took a good long drink from the frothy cup.

Daniel gave a shake of his head, the black spikes on his head waving and he stared at the cup. "Nuthin ya need ta worry about lass." The Celt spoke and took another long drink before asking for another cup. Another great thing was they got drinks for free, making the bartender popular among the crew. Dan waited for his cup and looked at her, the ale was stronger, but maybe she couldn't hold the alcohol as well as he could... She was lighter and quite a bit younger at that, so it had something to do with them. With a sigh he looked to his left arm which rested back on the wooden bar top, the knife in his leather gauntlet shown, the handle a bright copper color, like the rest of his equipment, though it was only coated in the element. He didn't dare really make anything out of it, unless it was a lockpick because copper bent too easy. When his drink returned he picked it up and took a drink, the mug making a loud thunk when it hit the top again. He hated talking to people about that night, and he knew he probably should or he might go mad, but hey... Who gave a care really? He shifted, and all his equipment did too making soft chinking sounds about him, the many knives about his left thigh were for throwing, a combat one at his other side, the cutlass on the back of his waist tilted a bit upward by the blade and the many bullets that wrapped around his belt, a line of two with the revolver of his holstered on his right side. Ever since that day, he never went unarmed at all... Had to have something. Even in his boots there was a knife and another small six shot gun.

She finished off her drink and tapped the bar again the bartender gave her another drink. I'm a doctor captain it's my job to worry now the hell is wrong? She watched him in a worried fashion as he fidgeted as he drank noticing the clinking from all of his weapons. My, my you look like a walkin' armory. She drank from her cup finishing it off again and tapping the bar once more. She shook her dark hair out of her face as she relaxed in the nice quiet of the hall.

Dan shook his head, he hated talking and didn't want her pressing it. "Just nightmares." He said and finished his second ale, already having a third at hand. The bartender gave him a frown and washed a few glasses, the bar soon empty of soldiers except the two. "I'm a soldier, supposed ta be ready to fight in a moment's notice m'lady." Daniel said though it was only an excuse to keep her from asking the question that would probably make him have a mental breakdown. "Anyway, whatcha doin' here drinkin'? What about the other soldiers?" He asked though he knew the others hadn't gotten harmed. Dan's eyes looked to her face, a pretty girl, but far too young to romance with, so he kept to himself. Nobody would care aboard their ship, and he knew that. He leaned forward on his left arm, an odd contraption attached to it, a crossbow when he used it, and bolts wrapped around his bicep.

She laughed and smiled at him. Even so thats a little bit over kill...What you scared of the dark or somethin'? Suffer from extreme paranoia? She smiled as she drank tapping the bar for a fourth glass. Naw those wussy's are fine...buncha cryin' babes is what they are. Plus I need time to relax. She looked him over noticing how he looked somewhat uncomfortable. Well can I ask for your name sir? Seems a bit unfair that you know mine and yet I don't get the damn honor of yours. She smirked as a man tapped her on the shoulder with a large gash under his eye. She turned and stared at him. I'm busy... But doc Its getting hard to see... She cussed under her breath and pulled out a needle and some medical thread from her belt and stared to sew him up. Stop wincing or else I'll stab ya in the eye! she finished up and handed him the rest of her beer. Drink that you'll be fine...Bartender gimme and ale please and thank you... She spun on her stool again to face Daniel sipping her drink. This is a good batch... She grinned not noticing the little splatter of blood on her cheek.
