Felix looked up through the forest canopy, judging the amount of sunlight they have left. 'We should keep going, we're not out of light yet,' he said, starting forward again. He shot a glance at his staff, thumping it on the ground once or twice. 'Besides, I'm sure this thing can give us some light, if I willed it to.'
It was then that he caught the sound of...something. His ears twitched slightly, trying to pick up the sound. It wasn't like last time. Last time the sound of vague and unsure. Now it was certainly there, but Felix had no idea what it could possibly be.
Well, you learn from discovery. 'Come on.' he said to Sirae and darted off, in the direction of the noise with Sirae in tow.

They both broke through the tree line, coming upon the lake shore. Way out in the middle of the expansive lake was an island. Felix had to squint to see who was over there. He recognized three of the people from the Globoco headquarters: Reaper, Christine and that Ryuk fellow. At this time, Felix did not remember Ryuk's name change for the game. He did, however, remember him mentioning it. Some Japanese word, it sounded like. Somehow, Felix doubted he exactly knew what the word meant.
'Good God, what's going on over there?' he murmured, squinting even harder.

((don't worry dude i'll think of something)) Hiraiko kicked Reaper the neck sending him hurling towards the ground "now's your change Gavin"

(Interesting) Reaper quickly jumped back up and he got into a fighting stance. "What is the meaning of this Hiraiko?" He was thinking that Hiraiko was holding a grudge for Christina not choosing him.

Sirae nodded and skidded off behind Felix, her feet tapping lightly on the dirt path. She could hear the furious voice of a familiar character. She slid to a halt and gasped as Hiraiko and Reaper appeared. She flinched as Reaper and Hiraiko braced in combat. "What the heck are you two doing? We're supposed to be working together!" She hissed stepping foward. She had to admit she was excited to see a fight, but not when they could be tracked down by viruses at any given moment. A brisk zephyr brushed across the group, but Sirae tensed a bit. She could smell the same lurid smell from earlier, but this time it carried on from the west. "Felix, we might want to get these two to cool it. Those things are coming back for round two." She whispered glancing into his direction. She wasn't entirely sure if it was the stench of the dead beasts that attacked them earlier, or if it was a new stench, either way they didn't need to stick around for it.

Felix nodded, but in a hesitant way. 'While I believe that we would take whatever it is that you say is coming, I agree. Those two need to stop their ridiculous bickering,' he replied, looking around.
He began to wonder how they should get across. They had quite a large strip of water blocking their passage forward to the island. He scratched his neck, thinking.
Once again, his mind was flooded was knowledge, coupled with the energy he was now getting used to being constantly inside.
He raised his staff and jammed it into the water, planting it in the mud under the surface. Not completely unlike what Moses did in the Bible, there was a mighty roar and the water parted all the way ot the island, giving them dry passage while being flanked on either side by rushing waves. Felix pulled his staff and started forward, surprised at how not muddy the ground beneath his feet was. He clapped his foot a couple of times, making a clear footstep sound instead of the squelch he was expecting. 'We go.' he said and moved on, bound for the island.

"Yeah, yeah, drama king. Will you knock it off with the Wise Mage shite." She chuckled jogging off through the parted waters. Sprays of foam mounted atop her long sleek hair weighing it down a bit, but for now her main concern was for getting her teammates out of harm's way. She looked over her shoulder to spot a blotchy creature bobbing its head into the path as they ran. "Uh, Felix, don't look back, but I think you ought' to kick it up a notch with the running." She called speeding up as she atempted to hop over a jagged rock, but painfully seared the side of her calf in the process. She landed on her knee and rolled over. "Gah! This is not like the video games I used to play!" She retorted wincing painfully. She did her best to ignore the seeping pain. She sprinted the best she could while the creatures gained on them only a few yards behind her.

The pain in her leg grew intense as they neared the sandy shore. However, the viruses were getting closer, and she could now hear their slimy, heavy steps behind her. She was tempted to blast them with a well dose of her force field backlash, but she knew well that would doom her. Her mind pounded in alarm when the waters began to fall behind her and the viruses. Atleast a dozen had entered the watery path and atleast half of them fell beneath the sudden crashing waves of water. The rest struggled to catch up with the two, Sirae slowly staggered on.

He had to admit, he liked the sound of being a wise mage. Hell, he liked the sound of mage in general, though he liked 'magician' far more. It sounded more worldly than mage.
Despite her warnings, Felix looked back and a chill ran up his spine. He had not grown used to seeing those inky black and red-blotched bodies made their steady way toward them.
He broke into a sprint, occasionally turning back and speaking a word, blasting a virus or two with energy that shot from his staff.
He was first up onto the island, scrambling up onto the shore. 'C'mon, c'mon, c'mon,' he encouraged Sirae, his staff still belting out light. He eventually gave up with the magic, having used up too much in short a space of time against a too numerous enemy.
When she was close enough, Felix lashed out and grabbed her hand, pulling her up onto the shore. He was never what you'd call strong, so he had to put his staff down and use both hands.
Once she was up, he snatched up his staff again and raised it, clearing his throat loudly. Like an invisible dam had been broken, the water surged back into place. The water roiled and rolled as the viruses helplessly thrashed about until they, along with the water, had stilled completely.

Sirae panted loudly resting her hands on her knees. "Thanks, Felix." She panted softly plopping back onto the soft sand. She examined her seared leg more closely, although it seemed pretty clear that it was a flesh wound, and would probably need stitches. Such things she was presently without for probably the remainder of the game. She sighed and glanced around for a peice of material to atleast tie up the damage. She turned to Felix and smirked. She immediately turned her gaze to his long robe. "Hey, Felix, buddy!" She beamed pushing to her feet smiling. She was sure he wouldn't comply with her idea she might purpose, but then again she realy didn't care.

Felix stuck out his lower lip in an insolent stare, his eyes half-hooded. So far he had to put himself in personal danger because of some rustling bushes, now he had to rip up his robes so Sirae had some sort of bandage for her leg.
He placed his staff on the ground and ripped away the wide cuff on his right sleeve. he put his chin in his palm, handing her he the strip of cloth. He looked at the mangled sleeve. 'Looks like I'll have to buy a new pair if there are any towns around here.' he muttered, blowing a lock of hair out of his face.

"You'll survive." She chuckled while wrapping the cloth around her wound, then securely fastened it into a knot. She stood to her feet with a slight pain but not as painful as before. "We should still break those two up, we don't know if there are any ater virures around here." She suggested and stepped forward in a slight limp fashion. She'd get used to it for now, but it would probably get infected if she didn't properly clean it. She'd learned much about flesh wounds since she ran away from home years ago. She'd managed to find herself with many flesh wounds over the years from constant fights as a Yanki. Now, those days were seemly rising, quickly. She'd need her old skills to survive in this 'game', in her book any game that allowed creatures to kill you wasn't much fun. However, she hadn't designed it so it was probably best for her not to judge. She sighed and looked over into the boys direction, she'd have to figure out a way to calm her teammates down.

Down the dirt road, Tokes rode his mount down on his regular rounds with his companion canine, Ben. Ben stopped for a moment and sniffed the air. Tokes turned around, "Come on Ben, we have to make it to the island before sundown. We're almost there, but at this rate, those beasts will beat you there." Tokes said to Ben. Upon hearing this, Ben laid his ears back and followed Tokes closely as they followed the path toward the island.
