Jörmungandr is the world serpent. One of Loki's children. Jörmungandr was thrown by Odin into the ocean where it grew so large that it could encircle the earth and grasp his own tail. In Ragnarok Jörmungandr would kill and be killed by Thor in their final battle... Good night...))

(Our Norse expert of the rp everyone. Ok we've got to start just or mostly doing OOC with actual posts.
(Wow, thats a cool subject to be an expert in. )

Tora sighed and got up from the curb. She had to get going if she was going to meet up with her father. Walking down the road, she stopped to look in the window of a store. She looked up and down the street, and spotted her father. As usual he was coming out of his favourite resturant. She waved to him, and rushed over.
Kotone finally closed her book as she finished the last page, she knew it was incomplete and there were likely so many more legends and stories that had been forgotten by time. Remembering the ravens, she played with the idea that if they had been real, she could just ask them to collect more stories for her. Of course her thoughts were interrupted by a pigeon landing on her pack as she finished placing her book inside. The quiet girl glared at the bird for a moment before speaking in an impatient tone, “Tell you what, if you start talking to me, I swear I will cook you and eat you.” The threat sounded strange coming from Kotone as before today she had been little more than a bookworm, quiet and solitary. Though it was a threat Odin might have made.

Muninn chose that time to reappear flapping her wings and crying aloud at the vermin accosting the young girl. The other bird sent flying, Muninn landed once more on Kotone’s left side causing the girl to tilt her head slightly before speaking, “Memory,” One word and a look of disgust sent shivers down the bird’s spine. Muninn was barely able to compose herself to speak, “forgive us Miss, but we were simply following our master’s instructions, and you were the one who said yes. But we should let bygones be bygones, after all a monster has been set loose and it is your duty to destroy it.” “No!” There was a distinct finality in her voice as she stood and began walking away from the bird, but Muninn followed hopping along the ground looking up at the girl and continuing, “Huginn has already gone to see the only other active member of your pantheon.” Though she ignored the raven’s voice it seemed she was being led by fate directly toward the Minotaur.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Takeshi however found himself listening to Hera once more, “Oh I did forget to mention. It seems my husband and Odin have already started the game. The trial for the girls will be to defeat a Minotaur, so it should be simple for them, but you are still required to do your job should they fail.” Takeshi’s only response was to stand still in his female form on the roof and begin running. He ran along the rooftops and jumped from the telephone poles to still more roofs, until he finally came to where the Minotaur would emerge.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Huginn stood atop the fence surrounding the a tennis court where two young females were exerting themselves sending the ball back and forth over the net. The raven remained silent knowing that now was probably the worst time for him to confront the girl Freya had chosen. After all if she was anything like the real Freya she wouldn't be very forgiving for being interrupted. So Huginn waited, watching the girl intently.

(( I suppose it is a good field of study... I was at first only interested because it was part of my heritage, but now I just think it's really very interesting. Especially the stories about Thor and Loki. ))
The two girls continued the game for another twenty minutes until it came to an end. By the end of the game both girls were panting heavily. It had been close but Kimiko had just won if only because of her longer legs. "In a couple of years it me being older won't matter you two good." She turned to the benches and gave the girl a look "Come on we told Okaa-San we'd be back for lunch" she said squirting her self in the face with the water in her bottle.
Kotone was across the street from the exact location where her first enemy would meet her when she finally had enough of the bird following her. She turned where she was standing and looked down on the raven as she began her impatient speech, “Look none of this can really be happening. Birds can’t talk; the Norse gods don’t exist, and things that don’t exist can’t send talking birds to tell me that I’m supposed to kill some monster. So just leave me alone.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Takeshi’s ears perked as he found a young girl chastising a small black bird, which was unusual in itself. However it was the subject that got him interested. From what he could gather the raven was either Huginn or Muninn and the girl was no doubt one of the Valkyries. Still it would be improper to simply greet her. After all it seemed she had yet to receive a full explanation of her role in this game. However he didn’t really know her role either, and wouldn’t until he found out who she was. Not her mortal identity of course, those only lasted so long. What Takeshi wanted to know was what god had given her power, the obvious being the allfather because of the raven, but Odin may have simply sent them as messengers. Then while he was in mid thought he heard a striking example of famous last words, “Are you deaf and stupid? You useless bird, there is no way that a monster is going to simply appear out of thin air.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Huginn was growing impatient; it seemed unlikely that he would ever find a moment that he could speak with Freya’s girl alone. He knew there was a time limit especially because if he couldn’t get her to join the battle, Kotone would be alone against two of the Greeks. Then the raven saw his opportunity as the smaller girl was packing her things he made a slow descent to land behind of the elder sister. Huginn quickly changed into his human form, an ability that had often come in handy when dealing with humans. The only reason he hadn’t used this form before with Kotone was because he needed his talons to remove her eye without causing extra damage. However in this case he didn’t want to have the girl scream at the sight of a talking raven. After tilting his head slightly he spoke in a calm tone, “I do apologize for the inconvenience Miss but I’m afraid I require your assistance. Though not truly ‘I’ but in fact those whose interests I represent.”
The Minataur landed on a roof top in the middle of the city it stood and surveyed the arena. It released an earth shattering roar and lifted it's Flail. It's battle cry released it stepped off of the roof top and came crashing down on cement ground. Immediately it lifted it's arm and swung the ball and chain around. The chain caught some people as the iron ball smashed at least two cars in that initial swing.

-----------

A few moments before that Kimiko turned at the appearance of the man. A flash of recognition crossed over her face before "common sense" kicked in. "Sorry but I don't go with random guys" she brushed past him and gathered up her things. Before he or Yuna could say anything she'd dragged her sister into the sanctuary of the women's changing rooms. She let out a sigh "I'll call home and ask for Dad or Katsumoto to come that guy creeped me out."*

She made the call and arranged that when one of them came they'd call into the changing room. In the mean time both girls would change. As she began to shower she let her mind wonder to that odd feeling for a moment it had told her to trust this man. She shook her head until she heard it though faintly, it was horrifying but unmistakeable. "What was that monstrous sound?" Suddenly not caring about her state she stepped out of the stall, w rapping a towel around herself. She openned the locker and removed the lipstick. "Why am I doing this?" she asked a sweet voice speaking an odd phrase to her.

(* XD I has a plan
Erm should I give the cats names and the ability to speak after this?)
Tora walked over to her dad. "Hey da-!" Suddenly a loud roar drowned her out. She looked around quickly, trying to find the source of the sound. "Where did that come from?" she said turning to her father. He shrugged looking around worridly. Tora looked down and realized her hand had clasped the keychain. She let it go and shook her head. "What is going on today?"
Kotone was about to swear aloud when the Minotaur appeared. It seemed as if the fates were not only real, but they had a wicked sense of humor. She didn’t have time to curse as her eyes found a car rolling quickly toward her. Time seemed to slow as countless runes scrolled in front of her right eye as if they were floating in the air before her. Stranger still was that she could read them and understand even the deeper underlying meanings. In a rushed voice the words came out, invoking ancient power, “Thought and Memory clutch my lost eye and show me the paths of War, Magic, Poetry, and Wisdom, now LET GO!” As she spoke the last two words a strange inexplicable pressure grew under her right eyelid.

It wasn’t until the pressure became almost painful that fear overtook her, but it didn’t last long as the pressure was relieved as what seemed to be a long spear erupted from the empty socket. With only one eye Kotone was surprised to find a strange black liquid pouring out of it. So as the spear flew upward spinning out of sight, Kotone felt herself being encased in the unknown liquid to the point where she couldn’t breathe. However just as she reached her limit the liquid solidified in a form that gave her room to breathe and see that she was now covered from head to toe in black feathers and of course the deadly spear falling to the earth toward her. Without a thought she raised her right hand and grasped the weapon only to find that as the spear neared her hand the feathers on her fingers began to fall and scatter. Like a game of dominoes the rest of the feathers followed revealing the questionable armor given her by the god Odin.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Takeshi watched from his out of the way position as out of pure instinct the newly christened Valkyrie hefted her spear and with a single smooth swing she had cut in half the car that had threatened to crush her. Even in the light of watching multiple persons crushed by the Minotaur he could help but be simultaneously impressed and disappointed in the girl who now stood clutching her weapon and shaking with fear at what had just happened. Still the moment passed and she finally felt her empty eye socket and while she felt it with her hand and finding she could still see even without the eye, Takeshi couldn’t help but wonder why the armor had been crafted with a large red ribbon tying back her hair. Still more than that he couldn’t understand why the game was started so quickly after giving the girls their powers and not even all of them had been found yet

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Huginn tilted his head back the other way from where it had been. It seemed that it hadn’t just been Odin who had rushed when picking a mortal. Then returning his head tilt to the previous side he spoke more to himself than to the back of the Freya girls head, “I am not Random, I am Huginn.” He waited a moment knowing she would eventually leave, but his attention was taken away only for a moment as he heard the roar made by the Minotaur, now he knew he would have to collect Freya’s girl. “oh please Miss, do hurry. Master Odin will be very cross with me if we don’t get there soon.”

((Well... if memory serves the cats don't have names in the actual myths... so yeah feel free to name them however you like... I really need to find a copy of the Prose Edda... um yeah talking is always good...conversation helps develope the characters...I can't wait to see your plan...))
(XD you've seen it.)

Kimiko didn't hear the man she only heard the sweet voice in her head the lipstick clutched in her hand she opened her mouth. From her mouth only a phrase came out the top of it turned green as she held it above her head a bright light shined blocking all those who may see, "Lady of the north hear my plea, grace me with your might* with the power to the dazzle and the power to fight, LET GO!".

The light exploded green and brown her towel vanished and she began to spin, roots appeared from her feet entwining her. Hair flowing upwards it slowly plaited itself a green ribbon keeping it in place, leaves gathered over her body and became a cream coloured strappy dress. A large branch wrapped around her as her body stopped spinning, the mark it left shifted and changed becoming a leather corset. She reached into thick branches and when she removed them her hands her covered in bark. All of it became red as the stuff on her hands me dripped off until they were elbow length fingerless gloves. The bark on her legs hen formed into knee high boots, a few branches wrapped around each other then descending resting on her head as a silver tiara. Finally it all came together and created her sword.

The light vanished and Kimiko took her sword and struck a pose unsure why she did "Valkyrie Sigrún, is here!" Kimiko paused as she realised what she'd just done. Erm that was odd" she muttered. Kimiko immediately rushed out of the changing rooms the sword on her back she saw the guy on the other side of the fence as she passed it "Hey I know I was rude too you just now but please tell me why I just turned into a magical girl. I don't like to leave Yuna but she's safe in there so please tell me what's going on."

---------------------------

(In a hurry here so this last bit isn't that good.)

The Minataur turned and growled raising it's arm above it's head "Pawns" it growled glaring at Kotone."

(*Changed it sounds a bit more lady like. I will give everyone one chance to change theirs if they so wish as I just did. Ok It just occurred to me but each of our characters need names fore their identities. I will place up a link to the names on the first page. Although there is more varieite for the Valkyries.
Tora turned away from her father, and looked down the street. A girl with a red bow in her hair and a spear stood further down. She started walking toward the girl. "What am I doing!?" she cried suddenly throwing herself down an alley. "What is wrong with me. Theres a girl with a spear and a monster an I walk toward them. Am I stupid?" she mumbled toying with the keychain mindlessly. Suddenly it shocked her. She opened her mouth to say "ow", but felt the urge to say something different. " King of the skys, Grant me thine flashing wrath and resounding sound. Lock On!"

A bolt of lightning struck her, but instead of killing her it wrapped around her. Dark clouds swirled around her body and became black graments. The lightning closed in wraping around her hand. It pulled away from her turning into a ribbon made. A loud thunder clap caused the appearance of a staff connected to it. With a last lightning strike and thunder clap she triwled the spear and landed in a pose. " Amazon Ainiaan, Locked to go!"

Tora looked around the alley and then down at herself. "What is this?!" An eagle landed on the roof of one of the buildings and stared down at her.
Kotone was lost in what had happened until she once again heard the rumbling vocals of the Minotaur. Deep in the back of her mind she heard a faint angry but still somewhat feminine voice, “Under estimating me?! Let me out little girl. Let me show that damnable creature what he gets for insulting Geiravör.” However Kotone had other thoughts racing through her mind that seemed to drown out the voice of her impulses and emotions. Her voice was small as she tried to remain calm as she turned and spoke to Muninn, “Memory, what is all this? What am I supposed to do?” The raven was silent a moment then spoke in a soft and understanding tone, “To be honest, the gods would have you do battle with this creature for their own gains. However, in reality you should think about those who will be killed if you don’t fight.”

Kotone stopped as she thought of all those around her who she wished to protect. It then truly occurred to her what was really happening. Regardless of being used by the gods for their entertainment, she had a responsibility to do whatever she could to stop monsters like the Minotaur from rampaging through the city. “How should I do that? I’ve never held a spear before today.” “Just trust your instincts my master.” Then once more the angry voice came this time slightly louder, “get ready small girl the beast will attack soon.” With that she finally stood up straight holding her spear at the ready and for the first time since seeing the Minotaur she swallowed her fear and took an aggressive stance as she spoke in a forceful tone to the monster before her, “Yo! Beasty-kun! Didn’t your mother teach you that you shouldn’t be so rude to someone you just met. Though I suppose you wouldn’t have even been taught table manners by a fat a** cow! Still you should at least have the common sense not to insult the Spear goddess Geiravör.*”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Takesh remained to the side even as the girl belonging to Zeus finally made her appearance. He only shook his head at the continuous thought that the gods really didn’t tell mortals anything. It was likely going to backfire someday. However he couldn’t help but notice that the Odin Girl was quickly becoming accustomed to her situation. Then again it was the gods of wisdom that were better at picking mortals.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Huginn was elated when the girl finally spoke to him, but still he held himself in a dignified position as he answered her, “No Miss it is quite alright, it is after all your prerogative if you wish to be rude to me. As to my lady’s first request, you have become a magical girl because you were transformed by the power of the goddess Freya. It was decided by the gods that this round of their competition would be done here in Japan and would use a more contemporary theme often described in your media. As for the second, this is the beginnings of this round of a competition between the gods of Asgard and the gods of Olympus.” Huginn resisted the temptation to be biased in his description. He knew that if he tried giving the girl too much information her mind would resist. So he continued giving only the facts, “This round is simple, the only objective is to defeat the Minotaur within the time limit.”

((*Geiravör generally translates as Spear vör. Now vör can refer to the goddess Vör so the name would mean Spear goddess. Or it could just be the suffix vör that appears in personal names… I personally prescribe to the former for my own reasons.))

Before the Minotaur:

" Obaachan! " ' click-click ', Akemi smoothed out the fresh wrinkles on her vest after fastening the locks on her roller blades. " I'm off now, I'll make dinner as promised " She said over her shoulder before shutting the door behind her. Akemi's hair swayed behind her, a smile tugging the corner of her lips feeling free as she glided down the sidewalk. Akemi had gone so far that she couldn't hear her grandmother calling out to her. It wasn't that she forgot, Akemi was quite aware what day it was today. It's just, birthdays don't feel the same like they used to as we get older. Well, it doesn't mean Akemi couldn't make the most of it. Akemi had fun getting to the antique shop. Wavers, turning all the kicks roller blades offered. Just, she wasn't being too reckless. Akemi wasn't a professional, she was just a little daring. When Akemi reached the city her adrenaline came to a slow stop. Just swaying here and there now. She pulled out of her pant pocket the folded paper that had the directions. Akemi hadn't heard of the shop before, " Leucosia ". The words felt strange coming out of her mouth. Sacred and chilling. Yet as her voice echoed everything around fell silent, as if being pulled away from the everyday life Akemi was once used to.

Akemi looked away from the paper and looked towards a shop that caught her attention the most. She maneuvered herself through the busybodies, apologizing when necessary. She stood in front of the door, head tilted back as she looked up at the stop's title. Leucosia, she pushed the door open only enough to peer her head through. The shop looked isolated, frighteningly quiet compared to the life outside the shop. She pushed on, dusting off the dirt on her roller blades on the mat before proceeding any further. " Sumimasen "Excuse me, she said close to a whisper. The walls were only decorated with paintings, warriors in their down fall or either their uprising. The art seemed to hold life itself. Honor and hurt mixed in between. Statues that had ages with years was placed on each corner and entry way. Akemi felt if she got close enough the statue would move and strike her to death. ' Seeing is good enough ', " Uh...I came here to pick up a book? " She called out as she approached the only glass counter in the room.

As Akemi got closer to the glass she notice animated, wiggly, glowing lines. The whole glass pane was covered with them. Bewildered as she brushed her fingers against the unaffected lines. On the far left of the counter, laid a hard covered book. With curiosity she walked over to it. Sliding it more to the center as she opened up the book. Scribbly glowing lines covered the pages, the lines coming together after a five second stare. Akemi felt the scream in her throat become a ball. Akei was scared, she couldn't look away from the book yet peripherals caught movement around her. The statues, they're moving. The walls started to fade through many colors, starting from dark shades to light. Almost like the shift in sessions, just this time much faster. Akemi's heart felt like it was hammering against her ribcage. Terror over powered her, her vision became blurry with water. She couldn't speak nor move yet, the only thing she can do was cry. She shut her eyes tightly, holding it in. If she was going to die, on her birthday, at least let the image of her grandmother be the last thing Akemi sees. " Don't fright my little warrior, in such a time that calls you forth, you must be brave and not cower. "

Akemi's eyes shot open, tears flowed down her cheek. Her hands had been laced together over her chested. Given the chance to pray. The room was dark now, the only light in the room was shunning down on the open book. Which was in arms reach. Akemi could feel the presence of someone standing behind her, towering over her. Something glinted within the light, phasing out of the book. Akemi felt two fingers lightly touching both side of her head. " Take what calls out to you, prove you are worthy of the powers I lend you ". Akemi's right hand hesitated at first before closing her fingers around the crystal ring. Tears had long dried up, curiousty was what motivated her. The horror was still there though. As soon as she held the ring she regretted it, the light brisk of wind that had once danced around her and the other was now thrusting through her. Squeezing her, her bones felt as if they were going to break and her lungs ached with the load of air being taken in.

The wiggly lines that were once placed on the book was now cutting through her skin. The knowledge the runes had offered was now burning through her skin. She could feel her insides screaming, breaking but she couldn't resonate any noise to show her agony. Then as Athena moved her hands away from the girl's head everything stopped. All the strengths gave way and she was sent down to her fours. Panting vigorously,' Hhht " the hold around the ring turned into a fist. She lifted her head and saw someone approach her. The figure was fug like yet strong enough to tell it was a form of a lady. The stance, strong and confident surely intimating yet feminine. Athena's hand reached for Akemi's, almost forcing her to sit up right. Opening her clenched fist with ease, Akemi found herself once again tearing up. The tears couldn't be helped.

" Follow the wind as it will guide you, feel and do as it will make you strong " The lady slid the crystal ring in Akemi's index finger. " Now and forever you shall stand victorious ", unknowingly Akemi stood up. Her mind was so lost, images appeared in her thoughts. Thousands of people spoke to her at once, in a language new to her yet it was understandable. Even though she felt like a rat in a maze Akemi felt almost, enlightened. Her eyes closed in on her, Akemi felt exhausted.

Present: City being attacked by Minotaur:
ಠ__ಠ

" Oi...You're scaring my customers " The counter clerk glared at Akemi, " Now if you just came here to scare me, you succeeded. Now go ". The clerk arched an eyebrow before returning his attention on the book that settled on the counter. Akemi examined herself, everything was as it was before. No burnt marks the only thing was the ring. She can feel her cheeks warm probably from crying to much. Akemi wondered what it was that everyone saw. They weren't here when she entered and the store was dramatically different. Antiques everywhere, different verities of lanterns hung from the ceiling. The room was covered up with history only giving enough space for customers to maneuver from one area to the other. " Wha...T-That just now...Oh never mind " Akemi turned forgetting she had her roller blades on, almost causing her to crash into some Japanese vases. Catching herself in time she sighed, " It's my birthday, It's my birthday " she kept whispering to herself. Such things shouldn't be allowed on someones birthday. " Congratulations..now celebrate outside ''. Akemi was still out of it she didn't have the slightest interest in annoying the hell out of the clerk. She just straightened her back and walked out the door. Akemi started to drift down the sidewalk, almost zombie like. As she got deeper into the city Akemi, notices some people running pass her. Moments later she felt the earth shake under her. Akemi didn't understand way she was racing to the cause rather than following the people running pass her. Though her heart quivered she was determined to see this through, hesitant yet confident.

[[ ^///^ ]]
(Nice post there. &*^* &%* I still get mixed up with them. >.< )

Kimiko nodded "I see well It would help if you could" she stopped at the sudden sound of a crash. "I guess I'm not far" she muttered before running. To her surprise she ran far faster then she ever thought she could she wondered how far she could jump and so she did. The magic allowing her to jump upwards to about five feet she grinned as she landed, before hurrying onwards the crashing sounds intensified as she hurried. Her thoughts whirled as she tried to decide what she could possibly do, she had the sword which helped as she had some idea on how to use it. But Asgard? and Olympus? She had no idea what that meant. She'd have to look into it later for now their was a monster to defeat and she didn't know if she had any team mates.

--------------------

The Minotaur could only glare and let out another roar as Kotone's insult hit home. "You'll pay for that" it said with a deep rumbling voice. With a flick of it's wrist and the movement of all the muscles need to perform the deed. The iron ball came up and overcoming down towards the girl "Die" it roared.
Kotone cursed herself aloud, why on earth had she insulted the creature that was obviously bigger and stronger than her. At least that was in her mind. Her instincts on the other hand took over again and she almost flew jumping backwards. An incomplete back flip ended with her feet pressed firmly against a storefront wall and one hand held up her weight pressed against the cold side walk. This had all been at the last possible moment as just as she made it to safety the iron ball crashed into the street. In the mean time Muninn had flown to escape the attack only to remain just out of the Minotaur’s reach as she circled above looking for her brother. Still in her awkward position Kotone couldn’t help but speak, “What was that? I’ve never moved so fast in my life.” The voice that had seemed to be coming from her own mind spoke again but was clear enough to hear it come from the spear she held in her right hand. “Get used to it little one. If you do well enough you might start moving even faster. Though that’s as unlikely as you impressing me enough to call you master.”

Kotone’s eyes almost seemed to go red as anger finally overtook her. Ordinarily she was a calm soul, always polite and understanding, but the events of this day had finally overtaken her. One she had her eye torn out without so much as a ‘how do you do’. Two she had been attacked and insulted by a creature that wasn’t supposed to exist, and now finally she had been looked down on by a piece of steel. She raised her voice in a way that she could remember ever using before and in that authoritative tone she spoke once more, “What the hell do you think you are? I am the spear maiden and you are my weapon. As an extension of myself you are only insulting yourself when you talk down to me. Now we are going to kill that monster, so if you have anything to say to me, say it now.” “As you wish, my Master!” Kotone now wore a devilish grin as she redistributed her weight and tightened her leg muscles and suddenly jumped from the wall toward the iron ball of the Minotaur’s flail and in a single swift movement she jumped again this time pressing her feet against the monster’s weapon with her spear ready to strike at the beasts chest.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Huginn quickly turned back into his raven form so he would be able to keep up with Kimiko. Of course it was a chore to keep from overtaking her, after all nothing traveled faster than Thought. Still as he flew beside her he spoke hoping to fill her in on some of the details of the fight, “Yes it isn’t far and for now my sister and our master will be holding the beast at bay. However as strong as our master is, she is still too inexperienced to defeat the creature alone.” Then he saw it, his sister circling in flight looking for him to arrive with help.

((who do you get mixed up?))
(People I was trying to give the Norse a chance to do something. Please post.)

The Minataur growled as he stepped forward and rushed swinging the flail around once again.*

----------------------------

"Ah so she will need me and maybe the others if their are any" she said thinking about how this kind of thing usually went. Kimiko reached the street where the Minataur was a squeaked as she saw it bring it's mace around to hit the wall of a building. "Oh great" she muttered as she stared at it then with deep breath in then exhalation she rushed the Minataur stopping out of it's flails initial reach. "Hey who do you think you are" she yelled pointing deciding as she did that the theatrics should probably wait.
