Story

Millennia ago the gods of Greece and the gods of the North clashed over who was deemed greatest of the gods. At first they fought a bitter war neither some battles were won but most were draws. Eventually Loki the trickster of the Norse gods proposed a game, this game would be fought by mortals granted the powers of the gods. They selected a neutral party who would release a monster or a threat and the champions of the gods would battle and try to resolve the situation. The one who won would earn great rewards and their gods would earn a point.

The game continued on into the modern era why by this time the game continued to be a draw. WIth no end in site the neutral party of the time decided it would end this game. Unknown to the gods they continue this game creating a new theme. They would select a country and using it's modern media as a base they would create teams to battle each other and the monsters. They selected Japan with the theme of Magical girls being chosen completely at random.

With the Norse's Valkyrie's and the Greek's Amazon's they would come to blows as pawns of the gods. All the while the once neutral party plotted against them all.

Setting

A fictional Japanese school the girls will be at least middle school aged to about college aged.
There will be the potential for a couple of male side characters.

The rp will begin before the game begins before they know of their powers.

Weapon: A very long sword with a foot or so long hilt, the cross guard is about a foot 15cm either side. The blade is decorated with numerous patterns swirls and the like.
Main power: To manipulate nearby plant life coercing them to grow as she requests. This works on all plant life.
Transformed appearance: Kimiko's hair becomes plaited, her outfit consists of a cream strappy dress with a corset over the top. She wears elbow length fingerless gloves and knee high boots (both are red in colour) atop of her head is silvery circlet that takes on the an organic woven look.
Bio: Kimiko is a dancer by nature who grew up completely unaware of what fate had in store for her. Though not primarily a fighter she does possess some skill with a blade. In fact with her brothers help she has cobbled together an unconventional sword and dance style. She joined the schools cheer leading squad as soon as she could.

Main power: She will be able to summon steel blades and move them with the swinging of her spear.

Bio: She like the other girls was raised unaware of her fate yet still came closer to Odin in the way she lived her life. Kotone reveled in poetry and song, constantly bathed herself in stories of heroes or battle, and strove to gain knowledge without thought to the cost. She frequently made the offer of her right eye in trade for some book or another and while shop owner would laugh like it was a joke, but deep down she knew that she was serious. It would not be until she was granted her power that she would fully understand her unusual tendencies.
Other: Possesses two ravens, Huginn and Muninn(Thought and Memory) That act as her spies and messengers.

Gae Bolg – Allows the wielder to change the shape of the blade, from giving the weapon multiple points to barbs along the blade to cause more damage when pulling it from the body of an enemy.

Lúin of Celtchar – Takes on the property of fire and engulfs the blade in flame. When in use for a long period of time the entire weapon will become covered in flame causing damage to the weapons user.

Gungnir – Increases the ability to change the spears shape to the point of being able to engulf most of the shaft in steel making it into a long two handed sword, as well as granting the wielder far greater power over the steel she summons.

Bio: Ren always seems to be found with a book. Whether it be a comic book, video game guide or an actual novel, she always has her nose in something. She is the middle child of three siblings who live with their father. Her parents got divorced when she was ten so since then she stayed with her dad. The girl visits her mom every other weekend or when possible. Ren has always been interested with Greek/ Roman mythology to the point where she ended up studying Latin. She is pretty good at the piano and loves to write songs.

Bio:Quite usual, nothing out of the ordinary. Akemi is an only child and has been living with her grandmother ever since she was eight. Akemi was once part of the Tennis/Volleyball club but soon joined the book club. She would always take the sport seriously, which at times would lead to problems with the other girls. Akemi, not really interested in dispute decided to take up another club. Plus Akemi always did love reading.
Other:Ever since Akemi started living with her grandmother, a white avian would visit her ever so often. Until finally Akemi decided to take it in as a pet. She doesn't really have a name for it, 'Oi' tends to be Akemi's first words when seeing the owl.

Transformed appearance: Kara the Valkyrie
Bio: His story truly begins in generations past when Odin grew weary of the Greek hero Jason and his descendants. So he sent a valkyrie named Kara to kill off the most recent incarnation of that time. However this backfired as Kara fell deeply in love with the man and their love pasted together their power as it was again passed on. Takeshi was raised knowing of his ancestry and fate. He was trained since he could stand to fight and protect the gods’ game from doing too much damage in the mortal realm. While he is a strong fighter in his human form and will more often than not remain untransformed simply hiding his face while he fights, his transformed state allows him access to even greater strength. Of course because of his mixed heritage he might use the powers of Jason, but he takes on the form of Kara gaining her immense physical strength.

"Nee-Chan. Hey O, Nee, Chan wake up. Wake up" the sound of the young child washed over Kimiko as she remained asleep for just a little longer. A beautiful voice called out to her as she dosed "Awaken Kimiko let your power awaken. The time has come for your destiny to begin, let the plants become one with you. Accept nature and become my warrior on the earth. You are one of five please. Wake up". Suddenly Kimiko shot up causing the girl beside her to be thrown back onto her behind. The little girl looked at Kimiko whimpering "That hurt Nee-Chan" she pouted looking at her teenage sister. Kimiko turned to her young sister and room mate rubbing the back of her head in amusement "Sorry Yuna-Chan. What time is it?" she asked turning to look at the clock on the wall.

Kimiko frowned it was half seven on a Sunday morning, she'd done her homework and wanted to get at least a bit more sleep in. She turned on Yuna who had stood and was pointing "You promised to come with me to my practise session today Nee-chan. The others don't believe that my sisters a cheerleader and you said you'd play against me. Frowned but it's not for a while yet it won't begin until just after nine." She was about to say more when the girl cut her off "Your slow Nee-chan you always put on make up. Plus you like to relax in the bath I wanted to make sure I got you up and we could get their on time."

"Ugh" Tora groaned knocking her alarm clock off the nightstand. She rolled out of the bed and onto the floor. "Time for practice, " She mumbled getting dressed. She walked downstairs into the kitchen and snatched the toast as it popped out of the toaster. "That was mine." her brother grumbled getting more bread. "Oh stop whining, I had a super weird dream last night. So I deserve toast." "What was it about?" Her brother asked buttering his new toast. " Nothing really. It was just thundering and lightning was flashing. Someone kept yelling something about hidden power and my potential. It was really weird."She mumbled finishing her toast. She then grabbed her track shoes and left for the track.

Instead of waking up to her alarm clock, Ren woke up to the sight of a cat on her face. Moving Nico off her, she stared at small tabby and then jumped out of bed. She got herself ready for the day and then walked downstairs and yawned. " Morning dad." Ren greeted. "You want eggs dear?" he asked her. Ren nodded and then sat down next to her younger sister who was happily eating a piece of toast. Her father nodded and then placed the scrambled eggs in between two pieces of toast and handed it to her. Ren ate her breakfast as her older brother came down the stairs. " Morning sprout." he muttered as he walked into the kitchen."Stop calling me that!" Ren said as she stood up to get a glass of water.

Kimiko and Yuna left the house on time at just about half nine. Both girls taking their bags and tennis rackets. It surprised Kimiko at how good Yuna was already getting at Tennis, half the time the only reason Kimiko won was because she was faster. Her own hand eye co-ordination was among her best assets and stopped her from loosing all the time. By the time they arrived at the courts Yuna's teacher at the Elementry school was in the courts waiting. She spotted them and approached "Ah Yuna- Chan and Kimiko-Chan it's been a while. So Kimiko Yuna tells me your a cheerleader yet your still carrying a Tennis racket? Are you still any good?"

After letting her old P.E. Teacher finish Kimiko nodded "I'm ok I mostly play to help Yuna practise it's the same with Katsumoto. Though were both do other things Yuna's the Tennis pro in the family." Yuna grinned "Nee-chan came so I could show the others that she is a cheerleader Asuka-San and Naruto- Kun don't believe me. Then we can play after practise lets go a play Nee-chan I want to warm up" Kimiko was then promptly heared towards the women's changing rooms.

Alone in an almost excessively messy room a small young girl sat with headphones over her ears listening intently to the music being played. Sitting on her bed she continually pushed her hair from her eyes to be able to read the book before her. In her lap opened near to the halfway point was an enormous volume of Greek mythology. It wasn’t her favorite kind of reading but for whatever reason she always felt more at ease when she was reading. While until now she had paid little attention to the words she came to a stop as the chapter title read out, ‘Jason and the Golden Fleece.’ An excited smile adorned her face as she began. She had always enjoyed hero stories and never felt she could get enough. In fact she would likely finish the large volume before the night was over. Fortunately she had gotten another book at the same time an even larger book waiting for her. In truth she was so engrossed in her book and music that she didn’t notice her little sister until she had started poking the side of her head. “Come on, mother doesn’t want you to be reading in here all day.” But somehow ringing in the back of her mind was another voice. One she had heard while she slept. A gruff masculine voice had said, “Inquisitive child, you have made your sacrifice for great knowledge, now become a mighty maiden of war. Wake up and know you will be the highest of five.” Still the moment had long since passed and Kotone replied with a smile, “Sure thing little sister. She does know I’m just going to read somewhere else right?”

Takeshi however stood before his master, teacher, and father, who looked upon his son and smiled as he lifted a small silver ring and spoke, “as the gods have ordained, their game continues. You will watch over the conflicts that are to come. Ten girls will do battle in this world by the will of the gods and you along with three others will make sure they live long enough to fulfill the will of the gods. Rise my son and take this ring which will is the symbol of the power the gods have given you. Take it and embrace your fate.” With a solemn and respectful motion Takeshi took the ring and felt its power as he slipped it onto his finger.

But just as he was about to stand he felt a deep sinking sensation in his stomach, and his skin began to feel warm and give off an unearthly glow. His body felt weightless while a mysterious female voice rang out in the back of his mind. He almost seemed to be floating in mid air as the light coming from his body became more and more intense. The heat increased until it seemed as if it was burning the very skin from his body, reshaping it slowly yet there was no pain. So it went until her naked form was fully exposed, but almost as quickly her skin was wrapped in a new light that came spinning around her. Finally the light became cloth and she stood fully clothed in the form of the Valkyrie Kara. What was once a young man was now, for all intents and purposes, a woman. At least for the moment.

As she examined this new form she silently cursed her father as he spoke again, “It is true, your mother and I would have liked a daughter, but that is not what the gods have chosen for us. So for while you walk in that body you will take up the name we would have given your sister. Now go Suzume, fulfill the gods’ will.” ‘Suzume’ hadn’t been listening to a single word her father had said as she was lost in thought over the change that had occurred. She was silent and peaceful until, “YOU DAMN PERVERT! You were watching!” Even Takeshi’s voice had changed in the transformation, but that didn’t stop her from throwing her father through the wall toward his wife who had just happened to hear everything. “so, you were in here. I thought it was my job to give him the ring.” Screams of agony and suffering made Takeshi cringe, he knew better than to make his mother angry and that was all that mattered to him. To hell with the gods and their threats, his mother could probably make them all wet their togas.

The training began after Kimiko had gone through one of her retinues for two of the other players. Kimiko wondered why she'd needed two they seemed friendly enough, but Kimiko just didn't know if they were friends with her sister or bullies. She swore they'd suffer if they were the latter, the very idea of her sister being bullied infuriated the girl. Perhaps it was because Yuna was her sister or perhaps it was as her mother often told her. Kimiko was very maternal so maternal she would be surprised if Kimiko never became a mother.

As she watched the monotonous practice from the bench Kimiko began to think. Her dream had been odd, very odd indeed in fact. Nothing in her mind would make her believe otherwise, as Kimiko was about to leave for the moment a woman interrupted her. "Are you here to watch as well?" the woman asked as Kimiko turned "Yeah my sisters always in the team" Kimiko said noting the woman's looks and dress. She was oddly dressed it didn't seem like clothing that suited Japan's usually warm climate. "I hope you don't mind me asking but aren't you a little hot in that?" that received only a chuckle "I was right about you Tsukiya Kimiko I think it's about time I give you something."

Kimiko blinked and almost protested before a small tube of lipstick was set beside her. "Take it, it may seem odd now but when the time is right. The words will come to you and you will awaken. Let go of your inhibitions your are the possessor of my essence. Now I must go good luck and may Odin* watch over you Kimiko - Chan." Then without any further words she departed frozen Kimiko could only watch as the woman disappeared.

True to her word Kotone had left the house and walked slowly toward a nearby park. Her ears were covered by her headphones and she just barely looked up from her book to keep from walking into solid objects. So engrossed she never noticed two ravens circling above her. She remained unhindered until she found an empty bench and sat with her music still in her ears and the book in her lap. She read happily undisturbed and unmoving until one of the ravens who had followed her began tugging on the cord to her headphones.

Kotone looked at the bird for a short time before uncovering her ears and speaking softly to it, still under the impression that it would not reply, “Oh hello little one, are you hungry?” The raven tilted its head to the side, back and forth, because of course ravens couldn’t speak. At least that was what Kotone thought until she heard the bird’s masculine voice, “No, we’ve just eaten, but we must apologize.” “Yes apologize for our master, as he is unable to see you in person.” The second raven appeared on Kotone’s other side and spoke in a softer more feminine tone. Kotone only stared, she couldn’t scream because more than fear she felt curiosity as to how these birds could speak. So without further questioning Kotone replied, “If you don’t mind terribly, I am a bit confused. Could you tell me just who are you and what master is it you speak of?” “Huginn” “Muninn” each raven spoke in turn then Huginn started answering the next question, “We serve our master Odin and he would like to give you great wisdom.” “Great knowledge!” “Of course any great gift does require you to take it.” “You must show that you want it.” “So all we ask is for your eye.” "Only one."

Without thinking the young girl touched her right eye and softly spoke, "Yes.” It all seemed absurd anyway, like a dream and when she woke she would be whole. Of course Huginn didn’t waste time while Kotone was pondering whether her answer had been the right one. He simply crowed aloud and flew up at Kotone’s face. He dug his talons deep into the right eye socket and pulled. It was about this time that Kotone noticed what was happening and began to scream in pain as blood oozed from the wound. Fortunately for safety’s sake the ravens had removed the girl from the sight of mortals to keep their bloody activities secret. So in spite of Kotone’s struggles, the raven flapped his wings and pulled until in his talon’s grip was the girl’s eye. Curled up on the earth Kotone wept as her blood and tears mixed with the dirt, dreams were not supposed to hurt. However she didn’t have much time as it was Muninn’s turn, in her talon was held a small sphere that seemed to be made of black glass.

In a swift motion the orb was thrust into Kotone’s open socket and the ravens spoke again, “Soon you will know what must be done.” “You will speak the right words.” “And you will receive what was promised to you, great wisdom.” “And great power will be yours.” As she heard the flapping of the ravens’ wings Kotone opened her eyes to find she was still seated on the bench with her book in her lap. Stranger still even though tears still fell from both her eyes she could see as if both were still undamaged. She lifted her hand and felt her right eye and found it to still be of flesh and not of glass. Perhaps she had been out in the sun too long, but this thought took a back seat as she replaced the Greek mythology book with one from her pack that was about Nordic Myths. On the book’s cover was an old man with two ravens on his shoulders and only one eye. “Odin…”

Tora changed into her running shoes and began stretching. She was the only track member who practiced on weekends, so the track was empty. She sighed and looked up at the sky. "That's odd, I could've sworn I saw an eagle..," she murmured doing a double take. She shrugged it off quickly. Just remnants of the freaky dream she'd had. She began her run, pacing herself at first. She couldn't help but think back to the dream. She stopped and sat down on the track thinking. "My unlocked pontential..? What does that even mean?"she wondered aloud. "There was something else important. What was it?" She closed her eyes and focused on the dream. Nothing came up, it simply slipped farther away. She sighed and opened her eyes as a bolt of lightning struck inches in front of her. She screamed and pushed herself backward. "Child do not cower." a voice thundered. "M-me?" she stuttered looking around for the source of the voice. "Yes child. Raise your head. The Lord of the Skys comands you. You will inherit great power. Power you can not even imagine!" it roared at her. Another bolt of lightning struck directly in front of her. "Take this, and let the words come to you child..." the voice echoed away. Tora looked where the second bolt had struck. A lightning bolt shaped keychain rested on the chared ground. She picked it up and stood up. She looked around and then back at the keychain in her hand.
