"Grenades? awesome! We can finally blow those boulders out of the way and head to the Surface!"

"Watch out," Fajin yelled kicking Pierre hard in the side just in time for him to get out of a sniper's shot. The bullet dug itself into the ground with a loud crack. Fajin had been saving his strength to blow a hole in the cave wall, but now he seemed to have no choice. His quick eyes also seen another troop of guards with at least twenty more people coming towards them quickly. Within half of a second Fajin knew what he had to do, though he didn't want to.

Fajin's lungs burned as he sent the largest burst he could possibly do. It seemed like a chain of bombs or a giant missle had hit the building's base floor. The pillars crumbled under the high vibrations of the sound alone. The blast caught up soon after going straight through the building and almost through the one behind it. The blast was so powerful that Fajin was thrown hard against the corner of the building a good ten feet behind him.

The building made a sickly crunch and toppled, falling so quickly that the troop of guards didn't have a chance to uncover their ears before the building fell on them. The sniper on top of the building also fell to his death as he suddenly realized the building he was sitting on no longer had the will to survive. The building behind the target also fell but it fell sideways and ended up destroying another building as it fell. The noise of mass destruction rang a second tone following the explosion that had left Fajin's mouth. A large cloud of dust emerged and the street that came from deeper in the city was completely blocked off by the ruins of the multistory building. There were cries echoing though out the city as they began to realize that whatever they had been told was a complete lie.

Fajin's head rolled as he hit his head so hard he felt loopy. He was sitting against the wall his head rocking forward and back, a small trickle of blood coming from a scratch on the back of his head. "How was that," he asked in a voice that seemed a little childish which seemed funny to becoming from a man of his size and appearance.

"Right here is good, John. My maps indicate that there should be an entrance several yards ahead of you," John squinted at the side of the mountain. There might have been an entrance once but it looked like a landslide covered it up long ago. John cursed colorfully.

"That is it, Harvey, break out the drill, we're getting in there one way or another," John was already flicking switches and moving the lander in closer. The drill was a heavy piece of equipment for taking soil and rock samples but it would make a person sized hole in the side of a mountain too.

The large toothy bits were already spinning as Harvey deployed the drill from its housing on top of the lander, "Are you sure this is wise, John? We do not know how stable the mountainside is and we could trigger another landslide if we are not careful,"

"Wise or not, I'm not letting this damn planet push me around too," John drove the lander forward and began to chew into the side of the mountain with the drill. Dirt and bits of of rock began to fly as the drill ground them up and spat them out.

Okay...
I'm armed,
I'm angry,
and no amount of pirates, dinosaurs, giant squid, dragons, gorillas, Elder Gods, zombies, vampires, ninjas, giant robots, demons, or spiky haired kids is going to stand in my way.

Now man the god forsaken cannons!

Pierre hit the ground roughly, but stood up unscathed, dusting himself off, though it did him little good since the air was filled with dust from the buildings that had just collapsed from Faijin's attack. He stared at the carnage and whistled, obviously impressed at the magnitude of destruction the monk had caused. "I'd say that was pretty awesome. I never knew you had it in ya, cueball. Thanks for saving me though, I owe you one." He walked over to where the monk was sitting, and offered him a paw up. "Jeez, you sure do look a mess. You sure you can still fight all blooded up like that? I know you're tough, but no human can take the amount of stress you're putting on your body."

"Good thing I am not a human," he said a little more soberly taking Pierre's paw. After getting up Fajin staggered slightly, he was dizzy but other than that and a cut on the back of his head he was alright. "I hope no innocent people where in those buildings," Fajin remarked with a sound of regret in his voice. The teachings forbid him from the taking of a life unless there was absolutely no other way, and even though he had once mocked this rule it was eating away at his mind. "We should move..... Quickly," he said grabbing his staff which had fallen after his great scream.

Daphene stared wide-eyed at the collapsing building. She looked down at her feet as the cave rumbled. Never feeling such a thing, she crouched down, nervous of what was to become of the rumbling. After it stopped, she stood up slowly, hypnotized by the amount of smoke and debris that conjested the air. Shaking herself out of the trance, she looked about her, noting each fallen soldier and the rest of her team.

"Well...sweet deal!"
She exclaimed, reclaiming her determination. She turned to Jerimiah who was limping noticably. "Crap..." she said to herself. She quickly ran to him, covering her mouth to avoid the dust. "Here, " she began, pulling her bag in front of her and unzipped it. "I think Fajin's reign of terror put a big pause to the chase," she continued as she grabbed bandages. "Did the bullets exit?" she asked, resting her hand on one of her daggers in case it didn't.

Jerimiah dispatched the last remaining soldier with a few cuts to the stomach with his and the soldier's own knife. He had been shot in his left thigh and been grazed on his side by another bullet. He saw the building collapse, and went to investigate rather quickly. He saw an unrecognized gun, a sniper rifle by the looks of it, and checked its bullet type. It used .385 ammunition. He, being a good shot, exchanged his pistol after emptying it's revolving chamber of shots. He emptied all the ammo he could find for it, around 36 shots in all, including his, into his ammo box. He then saw a P90 with a matching ammo holder on the soldier who had used it. He took it and the ammo belt, having two and about a half clip left. He loaded these all up onto him, and felt good. His 30/30 rifle, .385 sniper, and P90 were all he would ever need. A sidearm would have been nice but he had none other than the magnum available.

He looked over a Daphene and said "The ones in my thigh and shoulder found a good place to hide their ugly faces." He looked down and winced, his adrenaline going away, feeling the full pain now. "Damnit!" he cursed.

Fajin looked at Jerimiah and said, "I have been doubting my ability to open up the side of a mountain so I think it best you use, well whatever it is you were thinking of doing." He was completely unfamiliar with guns and grenades, because this was the first time he had ever been exposed to them. The monks had not thought they were needed and reverted back to the old ways. In truth the guns frightened Fajin but he was far to proud to admit it. "Which way to this exit," he asked quickly changing the subject from his comment and self-doubt.

True love is like a ghost; everyone talks of it, few have seen it.
But true love is a durable fire,
In the mind ever burning,
Never sick, never old, never dead,
From itself never turning.

Daphene pointed to the ground. "You," she told Jerimiah, "sit. Don't worry, it won't take long."

She sat down with Jerimiah and turned to Fajin. "The exit's right behind us, " Daphene said, pointing to a wall with rocks of all shapes and sizes about fifteen feet away. Opening her bag, she exposed the grenades. "If you're in a rush, you can do the honors, but his won't take long," she said, turning back to Jerimiah. She took the end of his shirt in her paw and placed it close to his mouth. "Working quickly means pain, so I suggest you bite on this," she said, readying her knife in the other paw.

Jerimiah was not ruining another shirt. He picked up a bullet shell and put it in his mouth, and said something in a sort of muffled tone and said "Get on with it."

He relaxed himself or it could hurt worse. This was not fun and he knew it. He'd never been shot before, but when he visited the cities hospital, the gun shot care unit, which ad only a few, guard induced, victims, were often screaming thier head off due to the lack of anestesia they put in the ward and the few who slipped into shock were called "the lucky few", which discerned him.

Daphene straightened his leg carefully, watching him wince. She twirled her knife once before she began to make the hole in his pants where the bullet entered larger. "They were already ruined," she said quickly, tossing the bloodied fabric aside. She dug in her bag for hand sanditizer and quickly dispensed a drop of it in her paws, ridding them of any fateful bacteria. She then took a soft cloth and wiped the wound clean of any dirt. Then without warning, she poked the knife in the pierced flesh, stretching the skin. Blood began to trickle out, staining the knife. Daphene's claw then penetrated the wound. She had blocked out any cries of pain Jerimiah might have released to make sure she could get the job done quickly. As she spread the flesh wider, she dug the knife in deeper, slicing more flesh and causing more pain. Finally, she had made the hole big enough for her claw to begin pulling out the projectile. It scraped the sides of the wound as she quickly pulled it out and tossed it aside.

With her clean hand, she reached in her bag for a canteen of water. Pouring the cool liquid in the wound, she cleaned out most of it, shrapnel flooding out of the wound in the blood and water mix. She grabbed some bandages and began to wrap his thigh. "Shoulder now.."

Jerimiah howled in pain the entire time, but kept still and relaxed to make it easier. He started to cry as soon as she stopped. He wiped his brow with the back of his hand and got a new shell because the old one had been destroyed by his teeth. "Alright, well, let's get this over with," he whimpered. He now understood why bullets were such a pain in the a**. They were always getting stuck where they shouldn't.

He put the new shell in his mouth, nodded at Daphene, and faked a smile at Pierre to not worry his friend. He readied for the pain and closed his eyes.

Rock on! Woot! You know you want some of my art!
"Don't mind me, I'll just be over here pickin' out some new steel. I wanna save Lumis and Umbra for a special occasion." said Pierre, walking among the field of corpses. He smiled when he saw the two Scorpion SA sub machine guns clutched in the death grip of a dead soldier. "I'll just take these off your hands for you, seeing as you won't be needing them anymore." He said, bending down and prying the weapons from the soldier's icy grasp. He also grabbed the soldier's ammo belt, which contained 8 clips in all, and draped it over his shoulders. Standing up straight, Pierre pointed the Scorpions at the cave's roof and squeezed off a few rounds experimentally. He grinned, pleased with his new weapons.
"Oh ho ho! Batty like!"
