Eboni could feel herself losing control of her temper as she watched Xion push Crystal away. She growled approval as Calen confronted Xion. He has no right to just push us away like this! He owes me... Us an explanation of what happened! Eboni thought in out rage as Calen took her hand and pulled her back towards the trees.

"He had better answer my questions when I get back..." she muttered under her breath as she picked up some fire wood. She and Calen worked in silence for a while at the chore they always did together. When Eboni straightened and looked up at the horizon she gasped. The sun was almost completely set and from what she had observed in the five years she had spent in that village she knew that the demons were more active at night. And they didn't have shelter yet.

"Calen come on we need to go back right now," she said urgently as she grabbed the little boy's hand and began to head back to the others. Please let it not be too late, Eboni thought frantically as she wove her way through the trees dragging Calen behind her.

Xion

He felt numb... Almost as if what was going around around him wasn't happening; or, more of, he was merely sitting in the back of the room, like a ghost, watching the events take place before him. He listened as the events occured before him; Crystal talking to her son, directing him outside to... 'Aunt Eboni.' He met the boy's eyes when the expression of disgust passed over his face, and again, the numb feeling tingled his skin. There was no expression in his silver eyes. They had grown vacant as that familiar disgust passed through them.

He barely looked at Crystal as she explained her situation, though he could feel the pain in her entity. It wasn't until she finished that he shifted; his great, spirit-like form moving through the room quietly. He approached her, and for a moment, remained silent...Contemplating deeply on his thoughts.

Her...Master? He hadn't known any of this before. He had simply assumed she had learned to survive on her own, without assistance. The fact that she admitted that she had needed help seemed to break her character that he had learned to know: On the outside, she was strong and devoted to her reasoning. Now, it seemed that she was falling apart.

But that wasn't the reason for his grief.

He wanted to feel sorry for her, he really did. He...Could feel the sympathy and the need to hold out his hand to her pass through his body. But there was something stopping him.

His disgust with himself. That's what it was. How could he feel sorry for someone, when he couldn't even imagine himself worthy of them?

"...You're child isn't what concerned me, Crystal." He finally spoke, his voice a mere murmur. He couldn't hold back a small smile from forming on his lips, as he thought of the child's face. He resembled Crystal, in a way. He would never have anything against children. "There is no need to apologize."

He turned away, moving to the small slit in the wall and looking outward at the group. Eboni seemed angry; and for the right reason. Xion knew his words had probably hurt them. A deep regret pierced through his hear, then... And he glanced downward. He had to speak.

"...Forgive me for my abrupt attitude. I..." He trailed off, his fingers twitching at his sides,"...I truthfully thought I would never see you and the others again."

He sat down once more, leaning backward against the back of the chair. He sighed deeply, a tremble passing through his body. It had been so long since he was forced to face the truth. Usually, he would sit here, in a monotonous state of prolonged loneliness. No one to face regarding his state of being. No one to talk to. A mere immortal state of solitude.

"Since we parted, I have been faced with...A many difficulties. I returned home in shame, knowing that I had failed my single responsibility to summon the Uiol." His silver eyes grew hard, and his eyebrows arched in a state of anger,"I was told...That the fate brought upon the world was my fault. It...It is too much for me to bear. I hoped to remain exiled for the rest of eternity."

He looked at Crystal now, rising slowly from his chair,"...I hoped that. I couldn't stand the thought of having to face all of you with my failure once again." He turned away, looking onto the snow-ridden landscape through the slit,"...I cannot live with such failure. My people will never forgive me. I...Can answer your questions, but... I must stay here."

He had to stay. He wanted to leave...He really did... But what would that say about his character? Had he no loyalty to his people? No responsibility over his actions? It was as if he committed a heinous crime, and refused to accept punishment.

Izur Tha'thel

Izur had watched the interactions with a sharp and mindful eye. Crystal obviously had some sort of relationship going on with Xion, (why else would she want to be alone with him?) previous to the split-up: Which, he wasn't sure where and how and when that happened. He knew they were looking for someone... This half-elf, Spade. Xion was persumably seen last with this man, assuming that was the reason the group had went out to search for the exile. He sifted the information through his mind, nearly nodding to himself as it started to piece itself together.

Eboni seemed rather agitated. He had watched clever Faerie grab Crystal's arm as she nearly stormed off, causing her to go back inside. He eyed Faerie, his eyebrows angling in such a way that inclined deep thought. She was an intriguing one. He would have to watch out for her.

However, something interrupted his thoughts.

Eboni had grabbed the child, and began running. "Wha-?" He started, and was ready to dash in her direction,"W-Wait! They're not-"

He saw a shadow pass quickly before his eyes. It was dark, now...The first stars beginning to shine against the horizon. He looked behind him, towards Faerie, and he saw the shadow pass again- A mere blur through the darkness.

He reacted instinctually, throwing himself before Faerie and lifting his blade- Feeling the edge dig agaisnt something. He got a glimpse of the creature before it again dissappeared into the blackness- A horned demon, with a blonde mane trailing from its head.

He held his blade close to his face for a moment, examining the blood. He then glanced at Faerie, who stood behind him,"...s**t. Demons." He looked about, before grabbing her wrist violently and pulling her alongside him, catching up to Eboni. He then grabbed her wrist, yanking both her and the child close to him. His voice was an agitated hiss,"...Look, I don't know what you think you're doing, but attempting to dash out of here with demons around accompanied by nothing but a child isn't the wisest idea."

His black eyes danced about. He could hear them. "Is there a way we could, you know, convince this stupid exile that we'd rather remain indoors, away from man-eating demons?"

╔════▄▀▄▀▄▄▀▄▀▄═══════════════════╗

Blinking slowly in confusion, Faerie wondered if the two inside was aware that an old shack wasn’t exactly the most sound proof of places. And the show of emotion made Faerie feel a bit uncomfortable, so she choose to pointingly focus on external affairs.

Night came early in the mountains, it seemed. And as she watched Eboni and Calen leave, she chose to stop them. Eboni didn’t look like a warrior, but again, Faerie couldn’t help but remember how the people her father usually hung about were dangerous. And how this woman had wielded a spear in her hands with a familiarity that suggested years of handling. And she was pretty sure that was a spell earlier.

And then, there was that demon lurking in the shadows. Faerie felt a shiver run down her spine as she loosened the knives in her greaves further, a cool thrill taking entering her mind. For the first time since she met these people, a small, cold smile made her lips quirk. The world had made it so that that small, gentle girl five years ago turned into a person who only felt really alive when fighting.

As she was prepared to throw the knives as the demon leapt, Izur intercepted and cut the demon down, and Faerie stopped herself in mid-throw. Scoffing angrily, she was surprised when he grabbed her and dragged her along to grab Eboni as well.

”I appreciate your help,” Faerie thanked him flatly, though her tone was colored by her annoyance as she wretched her wrist from his grasp. ”But I thank you not to treat me as a damsel in distress. I’ve met enough of them that it annoys me to be treated remotely like them. And I doubt she needs much help. People who use magic tend to be able to defend themselves fiercely. One way or another.” With that said, Faerie marched back towards the shack and forcefully open the door.

”This is becoming a habit,” Faerie announced to the occupants and motioned for the others to enter. ”This interrupting. My apologies again. If you didn’t hear Izur already, we’re going to use this shelter. One way or another to avoid noncombatants getting eaten.”

Then pulling Akarashi-ken from its sheath, Faerie positioned herself outside the door, her blade gleaned dully with its ominous light. Turning, she met the demon’s eyes with her own flat, emotionless ones. It seemed slightly startled; surprised its prey had found it so easily while it was hiding in the shadows. And unlike its usual prey who attacked when backed into a corner or smelled of fear, this prey seemed unconcerned, with no traces of fear or much anything else. Only...

"You cannot escape my eyes," she suddenly hissed out quietly, her eyes wide and her pupils dilated. "Come at me if you dare, hellspawn!"

Izur Tha'thel

Izur's eyes raised at Faerie's stubborn attitude, letting go of both her arm and Eboni's and folding his arms in front of him.

"Well, excuse me for being protective over you, miss." He toyed, a strange smile pulling at his lips,"I can't help but assume that once I become aware of danger, it is my job to defend those accompanying me." He began following Faerie walking back, making sure Eboni and the boy followed,"...Especially when accompanied by a small child, and a young, giddy girl."

He entered, alongside the others. He had to admit he was a bit on edge to be in the presence of the exile. He knew that it was frowned upon to associate with the man, and even though he didn't quite follow a lot of rules in his hometown, he couldn't help but feel a tinge of uneasiness. He was a bit shocked at how significantly the elf had retained the wild elf appearance- He hadn't seen such an untame, ferocious elf in quite some years. With their culture's modernization, his kind seemed to be growing a bit more... Refined.

But this red-haired elf still contained that... That wild. It was like looking into the past, and it sort of haunted Izur.

He saw Faerie leave the shack, and chose not to follow. He would keep an eye out for her on the inside, and if she needed assistance (which he presumed was likely) he would be just within arms reach.

The demon waited in the darkness, his hand outstretched over his new wound. It wasn't bad, really; luckily he had dodged in time for the sword to inflict only a minor insision. The long line of blood trickled from his shoulder down his chest.

How strange it was to encounter these humans. He had simply been out for a hunt. He surely hadn't been expecting to find any of their pathetic race outside of the walls of Selkia. He smiled wickedly at the thought that his species had put the little insects in that situation; hiding...Like prey.

It was then that he decided to move from his position, towards the door. Usually, it was unwise to approach any house or like structure. One could not know what lies within, nonetheless, his kind tended to specialize in fighting in the wild...In the dark. Houses and such places were lit. The more the others could see of them, the less successful they became.

But, there was always brute force, and he knew that. He was beginning to approach the door when someone swung it open.

He looked on, quite surprised, into the eyes of a young ferocious girl. She saw him. How very strange. His lips immediately curled into a menacing snarl, before the girl spoke...And then, they curled into a devilish smile.

"Surely you don't think I'm that stupid, child." He hissed, withdrawing further into the darkness, but of course, remaining seen by the girl's watchful eyes.

Anyone who looked into the demon's eyes saw something very familiar.

╔════▄▀▄▀▄▄▀▄▀▄═══════════════════╗

”You assumed wrong, Izur,” Faerie muttered to herself as she raised Akarashi-ken. The rippling metal, although interrupted by the thin breaks barely able to be seen in form, gleaned as Faerie gazed at the sword blankly. ”Giddy…is that what he called me?”

Turning to look at the demon with her usual flat gaze again, she shrugged at the demon’s words. There was something about him…

”Not as stupid as the rest of your kind, maybe,” Faerie shrugged. ”Most do not seem to think a child or female can truly pose any threat….But I guess that doesn’t just apply to your kind.”

She heard it before seeing it. Calmly, she looked out of the corner of her eyes to see another demon arrive. This demon, though, bore no human characteristics. Instead, it looked like a cross between a badger, bear, and wolf. All ugliness, fur, and glowing eyes.

”If you’re really that smart,” Faerie quipped flatly, turning to face the approaching beast demon instead.”You should realize that there are more people—dangerous people—inside that shack. And to know that attacking me while I’m in combat will get you killed as well.”

Faerie’s gaze met the beast demon’s as squarely as she did with the other demon, unafraid and even challenging. She remembered how her father had fought years ago. When he fought truly, and forced to fight without restraint. Without inhibition, without mercy. Totally ruthless and painfully free.

“May the Valkeryies guide our hearts through the darkness. May the Mother Goddess guide our souls to the Summer Lands. May the Great Odin guide our hands to strike strongly. May the minds of the warrior brave and true be undaunted by falsehoods.” Faerie murmured, her soft voice echoing in the in the falling darkness. She raised her eyes to meet the demon’s as he finally lumbered out from the deeper shadows. “So mote it be,”

She then breathed deep. Deeper and deeper, filling her whole body with her as her green eyes fluttered closed and the demon drew closer. Never exhaling, only continuously inhaling. The large intake of air would—by theory—activate the mind and the muscles. Scientifically speaking, the decompression from caused nitrogen bubbles to form throughout the body, especially along the joints. The cushions of gas in the joints of the body made it easier to move by increasing the body’s mobility greatly.

Faerie snarled grutally at the tremendous pain. Pain that made her feel alive as her eyes snapped open, narrowed and shining with rage from her pain. The demon started again, its prey’s demeanor and aura, even scent, had changed so quickly.

Taking advantage of its hesitation, Faerie rushed forth at its hesitation, her movements smoother and faster than she had moved before, going beyond the limits of the human body. Going beyond humans. Dancing, smooth, continuous motions that never stopped and never slowed. Only going faster, only becoming more complicated. Slicing upwards, she scoffed at the shallow cut across the beast’s torso as it jumped back. Leaping upwards, she twisted smoothly and brought Akarashi-ken downwards this time. With a snarl, the beast leapt backwards again.

Suddenly, one of its limb flew off in a spray of dark, discolored blood as Faerie landed gently on the ground before smoothly spinning around and charging again at the howling creature without a break. She had anticipated it trying to dodge backwards, and had forcefully shifted her center of gravity so that she would remain in the air for a little longer. Enough so that her inherited blade had loped off the thing’s front leg.

Twisting smoothly out of its grasping claws and teeth, she stabbed into its side and slid back quickly to avoid snapping teeth and horns. Claws gazed over her armor, creating an unpleasant shrieking sound that hurt the ears of the demon and served to irritate the warrior girl further. Fur already soaked in blood, the demon roared angrily at the human girl. Faerie stopped, her eyes closed again as she inhaled again, continuously and without pause, feeding her body more pain as she added to the decompression. It was different, being this high up in the mountains, making her have to adjust the balance between gas, pressure, and nitrogen.

The beast charged in its fury at the comparatively small figure.

All her blade left was slashes of dim light, and when the dust settled in the shadows, Faerie’s figure was past the beast. Finally at a full stop with her Akarashi-ken dripping slowly. A muffled THUD! Was made as the body of the beast feel to the dust, and it’s head rolled off a ways as the corpse rested in a quickly, quietly growing pool of blood.

With a flick of her wrist, excess liquid flew off the heavy blade.

Cold. Heartless. Ruthless. Merciless. Inhuman both in heart, mind, and movement.

This was Titania, whose eyes flat, green eyes roved over her surroundings quietly with a blank look on her face, barely touched by blood, with her armor gleaning in the moonlight as she stood there solidly and with a sense of silent pride. An aftermath of the thrill she felt in her fighting.

This was Titania, who was so much like the Queen of Fae who was her namesake twicefold.

Izur Tha'thel

Izur shifted, a noise on the outside of the shack irritating him. He looked over the situation inside; seeing Crystal and Xion speaking, he decided it was probably best to go check on little miss Princess.

He wasn't too sure on the reasons he enjoyed messing around with her. Maybe it was because she was a little human girl? Perhaps that was the reason he enjoyed poking fun at her. He was makign his way outside when he heard a loud roar- Something that could only be uttered from a demon. He dashed outside, sword quickly drawn, to see a large, hideous demon mutilated, and another- The one he had cut- standing nearby.

"...Are you out of your mind?!" Izur hissed, accompanying the girl outside. His eyes watched the other demon, who stood seemingly amused in the corner.

He didn't hesitate. Swiftly, he charged into the demon, delivering a quick blow made to distract the opponent. Upon the demon's movement to guard, he shoved his sword into the side of its belly. Although it was a bit dark to see, he could smell and make out the warm blood dribbling down the shaft of his sword. He felt the demon's body curl in pain... Shrieking out in the most bone-chilling matter.

Izur twisted the sword brutally, before retracting it out of the man-like demon's body. He watched as the figure fell, its horns bowed before him. Izur felt the need to end it now...The power overwhelming his form...And the need to enact cruelty spawning from such places.

He was about to raise his sword and stab it into the demon's head when he heard a low, hideous laughter. Looking downward, he met the demons yellow eyes, and it began to speak.

In a mere moment, the demon watch as his accompanying friend was slaughtered by the small girl. He stood, utterly baffled by this girl's sudden brutality...But inwardly amused. It was quite interesting to see such a small child with that significant amount of menace and cruelty. Part of him deeply enjoyed it. He wasn't at a loss with his demon-friend, surely, he had been useful in testing the waters for this girl. If it had been him, he surely would have gotten a scratch or two.

He observed the child. He became distracted in looking over her ferocious eyes, and soon enough, he heard the agitated cry of an elf. Before he knew it, the elf had managed to approach him quite quickly, raising his blade. In mere reaction, he attempted to defend himself from the swing, only to find the blade in his belly.

He had shrieked; his lips pulling back to reveal rows of sharp, whitened teeth. He hadn't felt such pain in so long. He had been stupid... And forgotten to maintain his distance. What was he thinking? Elves were quick little creatures. He had to be more careful.

Laying on the ground, he felt his own blood begin to pool underneath his body. However, he knew that such damage wouldn't kill him...Not yet. He was a special sort of demon, indeed. He let out a low laugh that gained the elf's attention, and began to speak.

"...I believe I have something you all want, Izur." He cocked his head to one side, looking the bewildered elf square in the face,"Silly of you to go out and kill me. I hadn't lifted a finger towards your little friend, here."

Faerie focused on the scene the elf and demon made in at the screaming. Blinking slowly she strode over to the pair, completely unperturbed and unfazed as she crushed the paw-like part of the loped of appendage of the beast demon and trailed the discolored blood along. Her legs and sword and a small, light splatter of blood on her cheek being the only real signs that this otherwise unwrinkled person had been in battle.

”True,” she mused out loud in a contemplative voice before it became flat again. ”Though I think he may hardly agree with the ‘friend’ bit. You haven’t lifted a claw against me. But it is much more advantageous to us for you to be dead than alive. What could a demon possibly have that would could possibly convince of us otherwise?”

Time changes you in way's you'd never thought possible.

Crystal's attention was immedietly drawn to Faerie's interuption and the demon attack. Calen ran in to his mother and she put a protective arm around him. She wasn't done with Xion, but there were other matters at hand.
"Stay here." She told her son, grabbed her bow and dagger and crept to the door. She glanced outside and was amazed to find Faerie fighting in the same way Matt had. She obviously watched him and learned from a young age. Crystal stepped outside after Izur had gotted the other demon on the ground. Drawing her bow she asked. "And what could we ever want from you?" He voice still as icey as it was with Xion.

The demon's yellow eyes flickered over the scene: An anxious elf standing before him, hesitant now to strike; A questioning, brute young girl, ready to kill him if his excuse didn't suit her needs; and now, another woman, bow drawn in question...He had seen all these faces before.

Well, not him particularly, you see. It wasn't his memory he was gaining this information from. He slowly lifted his damaged body from the ground, the elf before him wide-eyed with disbelief. Suppose that was the benefit of being Markah.

"Can't you see it?" He questioned, staring each of them in the face,"Can't you see his face? His eyes? Hm." He scratched his chin, the pain seemingly vacant from his mind,"...I suppose none of you were as great of friends as he thought. If that's the case...Go ahead, kill me. Nothing's stopping you."

But a devilish smile passed between his lips.

Izur's eyes widened in bewilderment, the sound of his name between the demon's lips chilling him to the core.

No.

He remembered this demon.

It can't...

"I'm warning you..." He lifted his blade again, his lips curled into a menacing snarl, to which unseen before by his peers before him,"...Get out of here, Heji. You have no business with these people."

He wasn't quite sure what he was talking about, regarding the 'familiar' thing. He assumed since Heji was a Markah- Or 'soul-eater'- That he had captivated a sould to which the others recognized.

But, truthfully, he didn't care. There was no way that they could get his soul back. Heji liked to use captivated souls as a mean of manipulating their loved ones into doing something of use to him, and Izur new that. In his opinion, the soul of their friend wasn't worth the strife. Not one bit.

He lifted his sword once more, preparing to strike the injured demon.
