Number Two

I will fight 'til the end...

She watched as he broke open his rib cage, not even flinching as blood pooled the ground. She'd seen her own blood many times when they had cut her open. Atleast this man had the luxury of being dead... She looked to the door to make sure it was still closed. They would need to hurry this up now. Number Two took the second bone he had gotten and gripped it tightly in her hand. Upon hearing that his wings worked, she nodded.
"Can you carry my weight?" she asked him, not sure how strong he was. He looked weaker after straining himself so much. "If so... We can fly up above the door," she said, pointing up at the top of the door. "Then when they come in, we can ambush them."

"I believe in you, I can show you that I can see right through all your empty lies."
-----

A look of worry crossed One's face when he was asked if he could carry her weight. Though she didn't look very heavy, mostly due to the borderline malnutrition, he'd never been allowed to fly but a few times in all his days of being this less than human creature, and never had he had to carry another human. Very carefully he walked up to her, getting within arm's length. He looked her up and down, then all around, examining every aspect of what would have an effect on her weight. The only ting that could be taken off of her was the anklet, but he dared not touch that. Foul things happen to those who attempt to remove their anklets. He'd seen it firsthand.

Finally, after circling her, he stopped and and looked don into her eyes. He easily stood a head taller than her.

"Hold your breath. We're going to find out." Very gently, he swept the girl up off of her feet, resting her back against his right arm, and placing his left arm in the bends of her knees. With a great deal of strength, he pushed down with the wings as hard as he could. It took quite some doing, but after a few good forceful flaps of the immense wings, the two were off the ground, very roughly hovering a few feet off of the floor. All the noise from the moving winds had rattled the room with sound, and it wasn't seconds before the tumblers in the large doors were falling. In shock at the immediate response, One stumbled a bit, dropping to the floor. But it was too late now, the doors were open, and there were the guards. And the girl was nestled in One's arms.

Number Two

I will fight 'til the end...

She noticed the look on his face, and wondered what he thought. He watched as she examined her, and made his descision. "Hold your breath. We're going to find out," he said, and she did hold her breath. She felt herself being scooped up, her back against his right arm, and her legs on his other arm. She heard his wings beat against the air, and felt herself slowly rising. She resisted the urge to cling to him like an infant, just now finding out she's quite affraid of heights. Looking down, she swallowed as she waited for them to go crashing down to the floor. The beat of his wings filler her ears with sound that she didn't notice, and she didn't realize until it was too late that this sound would alert the men standing outside. Suddenly, the doors let out a groan as they were opened, and the two men with guns stepped into the room. The first thing they saw was the giant pool of blood, more pink than red now due to the water still running from the hose. She watched as they looked quickly around the room, then up at them.
She had only a moment to act. Number Two had no idea what she was doing, but she acted. She bit the winged boy as hard as she could, and while he was distracted, she struggled free of his grasp. This did not go as planned, however- in the brief second she had to think, she imagined herself landing gracefully on her feet, and plunging the rib weapon into the guard's neck. However, she somehow forgot that the floor was slippery with water, and the moment her feet hit the floor, she slipped, landing face-first. She felt a stab of pain in her chest, and heard a sickening crack. She gasped and tried to breathe, unable to move from pain.

XXXXXFelicia had gotten to work on time as usual. She liked her job. It wasn't really her job to actually test the...things...but she created a bunch of the experiments to test their limits, abilities, structure, and genetics. Of course she didn't do it all alone. Fel had a wonderful group of staff working under her, each specializing in different areas. She feels a bit bad for these creatures so she tries to create less painful tests, but that's what they know and have grown up with. Besides, it was just a job to her. She could easily find another with her degrees and qualifications.
XXXXXToday she was designing an experiment dealing with the composition of the neurological chemicals in demons and furies. It involved taking a small amount of the cerebral spinal fluid surrounding the brain and a small 3mm piece of the frontal lobe of the brain. If the experiment was successful it in theory would alter the mood, and social actions of the subject. As of now it was only a computer based project but she was planning for some lab testing later in the day. If they could successfully alter the moods of these subjects, Fel believed the moody and aggressive ones would be more stable more of the time. This experiment would have to go on for an extended amount of time. Behavior modification can be temperamental and is guaranteed to take awhile. She would have other projects going as testing for project GB-0231, as she named it, was in progress.
XXXXX"Fel, I have the test results from last week on the angels. Experiment A-418." One of her assistants, Kate, said walking through Fel's office door. "Splendid. What do you have for me?" She replied. Kate gave the papers to Fel and gave a brief summary of the data. "Thank you. This will be most useful in future experiments." Felicia said dismissing Kate. Fel went back to a little more sorting out the process, and predicting the possible outcomes of GB-0231.

The sounds of Darkness echo within my mind...
Tainted Black, coarse and unrefined...
\666666//Number Six\666666//

..Will I break this Demonic bind?...
Or will my Soul be lost to it's kind?...

Six awoke late, as usual, his eyes opening up slowly in the darkness of his cage. Even though it was dark in his cage and he could hardly move, in order to properly go out of the cage, a black blindfold was almost always affixed to his head, covering his eyes. It wouldn't have mattered if he could see in his cage anyways, it was just a small, cramped place, just like all the other cages. He didn't do much, not usually, and especially not a lot of thinking. He wasn't what you would consider the smart kind, hardly even the average kind. He was a bit dim, to put it bluntly, but not dim in a completely horrid manner; he was rather kind, after all. Kindness was a surprising trait to find in someone his age, especially to have the upbringing that they did. None the less, he was kind.

He shifted in his cage and waited to be let out, whether for a bathroom break or otherwise. It was always a little hard for him to come out of the cage, he could hardly see without the darkness, otherwise everything was just a blinding light. He heard the beep of the first release, hearing the sound of his cage door opening. He fumbled outwards, hands forward, feeling for something, anything. Where there bars? He had forgotten if it was an expansive area or just a path to the bathroom, he was still sleepy and his mind was covered in this dense fog. He didn't need to go to the bathroom at the moment though, he hadn't eaten too much the last time he had been fed, so maybe it was just time for him to stretch his legs. Yes, Six liked the thought of that. He didn't get enough exercise as it was, to at least be outside of his stuffy cage was something he welcomed. He stood up carefully outside of his cage, hands stretched out so he wouldn't bump into anything. He had to be cautious, he didn't want to hit something or someone, or worse, trip.

Three
16 ✦ Female ✦ Angel/Vampire Hybrid

XXXXXThree sat quietly in her cage. She, unlike others, was not accustomed to sleeping. All she knew was she didn't care for it much, though the lack of sleep had no effect on her mental or physical being. The advantage of not sleeping was she knew pretty much everything that went on inside the large room where all the boxes were kept. Whenever someone came, or whenever someone left, or was tortured, she knew. And after a few years of observing the actions of the guards and researchers she taught herself to speak, though only in private. In her mind it is better to keep the torturers 'in the dark' as long as possible. Besides, she has never really needed speech.
XXXXXThree watched as two of the others were shackled and dragged out. She knew they would come for her sooner or later, and that scared her a bit. After years of this semi-routine one would think she would be used to it, but she wasn't. There would always be new ways in which her body and mind would react. Three saw the guards coming when they entered the room. She didn't want to go, as usual. Slowly, almost as if each step the guards took turned her more and more into solid and heavier weight, she willed her body to become heavy. If they tried, they wouldn't be able to move her. Along with the weight, her skin became more and more dense. She heard one of the guards speak in low, gruff tones, but didn't know what it was because she couldn't hear him. In a moment, her box door was open and the three were trying to drag her out.

~Number One Hundred Eight~

One Hundred Eight stared outside his cage, watching all that was going on. Thoes men with the guns were back, as they were every day. They dragged out a girl with long brown hair, who's name he didn't remember. He wondered what they were going to do with her, but didn't dwell. Looking around the rest of the room, another man with a gun was standing over someone he remember as being Number Six. He remembered this boy because his eyes were always covered for some reason, and he acted different from everyone else. "Hello, Number Six," he called out, his childish voice echoing around the room.

Number Thirteen was curled in the corner of her cell, her fluffy tail wrapped around her thin body. But she wasn't sleeping. Oh, no. She was thinking, coming up with riddles. She spoke maybe once or twice a day, and it was always a riddle. You'd think, after fifteen years - well, ten, if you only counted her riddle years - that she would have run out by now. But no. It was a way to keep her sane. ... Okay, somewhat sane. But back to her point. When she spoke, it was in a riddle. She would tell it, and then fall silent, only giving a small smile or shake of her head if someone tried to answer. Yesterday's had been simple, though it had taken most of the day for anyone to answer it. 'Always wax, yet always wane: I melt, succumbed to the flame. Lighting darkness, with fate unblest, I soon devolve to shapeless mess,' she recalled. Honestly, how hard was it to realize the answer was a candle?

..Will I break this Demonic bind?...
Or will my Soul be lost to it's kind?...

Six looked up when he was addressed by the younger experiment, pointing his head in that general direction. He recalled the boy a few times before, he was quite young, at least from his sound, and he seemed nice enough. Nicer than the other kids, at least. Everyone else seemed to be so much harsher, and even though Six had went through just as many experiments as the others, he didn't end up like that. Perhaps it was because he shut things out, or he observed kind behavior when he was younger, who knows."Hello! Number One O Eight?" He said, trying to remember the boy's name. He was young, so his number was a lot bigger.

He shifted to go towards the boy, but the guard warned him not to move unless he was going to the bathroom. How disappointing. He shrugged, running a hand through his black hair, wondering what the world of light was like. He used to be able to see it, but it was so long ago. His eyes had became sensitive shortly after they had started the splicing, it had only been a matter of a year before he went form normal vision to only that of the night. One Hundred and Eight was a pretty nice boy though, Six hoped he wouldn't end up like the other older kids, all mean and dark. Some of them even thought of escape, which is ridiculous! There was nothing outside of here, at least, nothing for them. What was the point? He just didn't see it.

"That's me," he said, pleased Number Six had known his name. "Too bad thoes meanies won't let us out... We could play together," he said. He put his hands on the bars of his cage, and watched him. "Why do you cover your eyes?" he asked him innocently. "Don't you want to look at what's around you? Not that there's very much to see, anyways."

The thought of playing, actually playing, made him smile a bit sadly. Play?"Play...yeah, that sounds good." He said, humoring the child with the idea of carefree horseplay. He wondered where the child had heard that word, certainly not from the doctors. Maybe from one of the other older experiments, or perhaps they still taught it in the primary lessons? Six had almost forgotten how to read, he was in the dark and there was no point in the written language then. He didn't know what they taught the newer experiments, now that the first batch was a bit older, they probably eliminated a lot of things from the curricular, or maybe not, he didn't even know what curricular was.

He looked back at One Hundred and Eight when he asked why he covered his eyes, and he smiled again. This child was curious, but that was a bad thing in the laps. It would do him no harm with Six though, he wouldn't hurt him."I would love to look at what's around me, but I can't. The light in here is much too bright for my eyes, it's blinding. I can only see in the darkness." He replied patiently, sitting cross-legged outside his cage. He would let the boy know, they could learn more about each other this way. Perhaps they could even become, what was the word, friends? Yes, friends. That sounded like something interesting, he hoped it was something good, though. He was not used to the word friends, especially in this hostile environment.

~Number One Hundred Eight~

The little boy was pleased with his reply, not noticing the sadness. "Someday... for sure, we'll play together," he said, lost somewhere in his childish visions. "For now, let's be mates, okay?" he said, not knowing the true meaning of the word. The man with the gun was now speaking with the other two who had come in, seeming to have temporarily forgotten Number Six.

"Oh," he said in reply to his explionation. "You're a lot nicer than some of the others," he complimented. "Lots nicer than that mean woman in the white coat." It was impossible to tell which one of them he was talking about, though One O Eight could see her in his mind. The one with the flowing orange hair.

[[Awkwardness for the win, lol. He doesn't know the word friends, but he happened to hear the scientists talking about 'mates' and confused the meaning. See you tommarrow, then~]]

Number Five.

Her eyes slowly flickered opened. How long had she been passed out she had no clue. In fact time ran differently in where ever they were. She knew she was born here and that when she had asked in the past about the outside world she had been told it would kill her. A very interesting thing considering all the pain her body had been though in the past. It would be a good way to end it all if she escaped but right now she felt the time was not right. Perhaps later on but right now her purple eyes blinked a few times as she noticed she was back in the cage again. "I wonder how long this time I was sleeping for?"she asked herself softly. she just hoped that she was not the list today to be taken out of the cage. If she was well it would be interesting to see what they had in store for her this time around.

My beautiful baby boy, Adrian...

Alexis Moorey

The scientist entered the human testing area, her long brown hair put up in a ponytail. She was wearing her glasses, due to the fact she had the need for reading. She bit her lip as she read what she was to be doing today. After finishing, she walked over to the cage containing her son, Adrian. She opened the cage, wanting to sob from the cruelty shown to the poor infant. He was so frail, too underweight for his age. She picked him up as gently as she could, and held him against her chest. She tried to appear as if she were holding an object rather than an infant, for fear someone would notice the attachment she had for the infant.

Next, she walked near the cage of the one marked Number Thirteen. She read the information on the side of her cage, which detailed her ID Number, Age, Height, Weight, and of course, species. This particular one was a vampire and a fox hybrid, with some human mixed in her. She opened the cage, and said "Come with me, Number Thirteen," she said, her voice flat, no emotion in it.

Please forgive me, my son...
