Ever had déjà vu?

Once there was a great pantheon of gods. Combined, they created the universe in all its glory, shaped the planet that humans now call Earth. Once the rulers and masters of their masterpiece, their touch was felt in every corner of the world; they walked among their people and bestowed gifts and stories upon them so deep that their legacies--though perverted into falsehoods fiction long ago--still stand.

Then they committed The Sin.

It is long forgotten what their crime was, only the punishment. Stripped of their godhood, their symbol of divinity shattered and scattered, torn from their soulmates, they were cast down onto the world they had created and doomed to forever reincarnate, fated to search for their other half--and the rest of their brethren--for all eternity. That is, unless they managed to reassemble their Divine Symbol and find one another. But that would be impossible, given the short lives and even shorter memories of mortals. The cycle looked impenetrable.

But the cycle is breaking. In the present day, each of the Gods has suddenly felt the call in their stomachs to a place in New York City. Unknowing of their true forms, unsuspecting of the path that lie ahead, they find themselves compelled by forces beyond their meager shells to go there--and find each other.

--◈--

You are a Fallen God, though currently in a mortal form. Unaware of your prior existence, you have lived normally up until now.

One day, you begin to feel a stirring in your stomach, a compulsion to visit New York City (come hell or high water). Regardless of how you get there, you have now, lead on to a place called The Mansion.

You are uncertain of why. But the overall goal is to find one another, survive being Hunted by a creature far greater than yourself, find the Divine Symbol and reassemble it.

After that? Well... perhaps you ought to just survive, first.

||The Basics||

o1 | Follow Gaia TOS
If I have to explain this one, then there's a problem.

o2 | No Godmodding
Meaning no one-hit kills, no sudden powers, nothing that makes you unstoppable, and no controlling other people's characters.

o3 | No Cybering
Romance is encouraged. Literary porn is not. When the clothes hit the floor, we don't want to know any more.

o4 | Be Respectful
No flaming, harassing other members of the roleplay, or starting drama. I don't want to kick people out, but I can, will, and have.

o5 | Attendance
DO NOT disappear on me. I've waited up to a full week for people to respond. After that week, if you haven't given me a good reason why you haven't posted/posted/informed me you are hung up in real life stuff, I WILL boot you.

||The Specifics||

o6 | Private Message Skeletons
When you've filled out your character, message it to me with the title of "Final Countdown" AND a short sample of roleplaying.

o7 | Literacy
This is a LITERATE roleplay. That means I require at least two paragraphs a post. Paragraph means four sentences, minimum.

o8 | Fighting
No character can kill another person's character without EXPRESS PERMISSION. See the rules on fighting in "Notes".

o9 | Maturity
This will be a PG-13 roleplay. Cussing and mature situations are allowed, but, once again, depicting sex is not.

1o| Reservations
I do accept reservations. I will hold your spot for a day (24 hours) after the request is made. Then you're on your own.

o11 | I Am God
Just as it says. I have the right to take this thread and boot people from it. Please respect my rules.

Full Profiles

Goddess of Love
Aleta Yeshaya Silver || Awastil
Yeshaya's military training and Alan's death by IED has left her alienated. Despite this, she still has a large spot in her heart for other people--even if she can't figure out how to deal with them. When it comes to their defense, however, she keeps her heart on her sleeve and her fists at the ready.
SPECIAL SKILL [stage one]: PROTECTION CIRCLE
------Yeshaya gets a +2 to her defense rolls when guarding others.
PARTNERED SKILL: DEFIANCE
Yeshaya has given her life time and time again in defense of those she cares the most about. Even in the face of overwhelming odds, she will step into the line of fire and accept the punishment meant for others.
------Yeshaya can take one shot by the Hunter per day and dissolve the damage entirely.

Goddess of Pain and Pleasure
Aishe Nessa Mahdi || Harushe
Aishe is no stranger to being hurt. Despite her tiny stature, the woman can take a beating--and has trained herself to enjoy it. When struck, her opponent may find themselves surprised to hear a purr and "honey, do it again~"
SPECIAL SKILL [stage one]: HIT ME BABY, ONE MORE TIME
------Aishe has a -1 on all damage taken, excepting natural 20s.
PARTNERED SKILL: I DON'T HURT ANYMORE
Aishe, little and careless though she seems, has a sensitive and caring heart. Surprising though it may be, her real path is on that of healing others. When her allies are knocked down, hurt, or otherwise incapacitated, she can heal them.
------Aishe can heal other gods for 1d4 or raise them from the dead.

God of Visual Arts
Elizabeth Luna de la Satre || Aatos
Izzy is a creator by nature. This lends itself to a sort of new, slanted thinking that most would not consider. As a result, she's constantly coming up with new innovations. This can come in handy in a pinch, as she can come up with ways out when everyone seems trapped.
SPECIAL SKILL [stage one]: IT SAYS "ES-KAP-EYYY"
------When found by the Hunter, Izzy has a chance to roll for an escape. Her d20 roll will go against his d20; whoever is higher wins.
PARTNERED SKILL: GUERNICA
Izzy has always been a muse, for even the most famous of artists. She is almost single-handedly responsible for the work known as GUERNICA. As much a reflection of her perpetual cycle of destruction as it is a symbol of senseless war, the passion that was used to fuel her inspiring others also saves her friends.
------Izzy is capable of animating objects in a room like a whirlwind. It is highly damaging to the HUNTER and will give everyone a round to escape his grasp. Roll a 1d8 for damage.

Goddess of Fear
Illiana Aryna Reaver || Ell'enia
Fear makes people do strange things. While this mostly has taken the form of abandonment, Illiana can persuade others to do things they generally wouldn't, exercising her innate ability to scare the s**t out of people. Her targets will bend to her will in a panicked daze, only coming to after completing their tasks.
SPECIAL SKILL [stage one]: YOU ARE GETTING SLEEPY
------Illiana can compel others to follow commands. If an NPC (with the exception of A.G. and the Hunter), she is able to control them at will. If a Player-Character, she must make a d20 roll against them. The subject, once the command is carried out, will come to. If an NPC, they will "explain away" their actions to themselves. Player Characters will have awareness of what has happened.
PARTNERED SKILL: I REMEMBER YOU
Illiana has died by the hands of her partner more times than she can count. Despite what N'Rasztharrull is--or is no longer--the connection between them is impossible to sever. It is unknown what happens to the Hunter whenever he is touched by her presence... but it is distracting, and that could be useful.
------The pendant now serves as a teleportation beacon with herself and N'Rasztharrull. Upon activation, she will switch places immediately with her partner..

God of Conflict
Eli A. Richter || Serpis Irae
Eli is volatile and slippery, but his female 'conquests' would always describe him as capable of far more than just smooth talking. Some would lay claim to fire appearing at random in his hands--a parlor trick that he never did explain to them. Not that a dark and dangerous stranger such as him needed anything more to get in their beds, but it certainly didn't hurt any.
SPECIAL SKILL: COOL GUYS DONT LOOK AT EXPLOSIONS
------Eli can create small flames in his hands once a day. They last only a few seconds and, if used against other people, will do 1d8 damage... at present, at least.
PARTNERED SKILL: UNHOLY VENGEANCE
Eli is angry. Angry is an understatement; incensed is better. For every life he has found Yeshaya, more than half he has watched her die at the Hunter's hands. He demands not only answers, but revenge... even if he has to take it with his bare hands.
------Eli can punch through armor twice a day. He must roll a d20. An event post will follow on a successful hit.

God of Mischief and Chance
Thaddeus Apa Wapasha || Gai Waijoe
"Better lucky than good", some might say. If that holds true, Thaddeus will never have a problem in life. Quick to subvert his rags into riches, he will always be the one to find new and unusual things, places, or information.
SPECIAL SKILL [stage one]: THE HOUSE ALWAYS WINS
------Whenever a world event is posted, or a Hunter post, Thaddeus may roll a d20. Depending on the number, a random event, piece of information, or item will become available to the Mansion.
+UPGRADE: Thaddeus can roll one d20 in every Hunter engagement. It will give one detrimental effect to the Hunter.

PARTNERED SKILL: AIN'T THAT A KICK IN THE HEAD
Most people would not do well under the influence of drugs. Thaddeus is not "most people". When in the presence of the Hunter and under the influence, he can use a ritual that grants him a small bonus to his resolve--and his strength.
------Thaddeus is granted a +1 to attacks against the Hunter when under the influence.
+UPGRADE: +2 to attack rolls.

God of Sound and Thunder
Barry Watson || Sonus
Barry has never needed to raise his voice. The sheer threat of him doing so in any angry or warning sort of way should warn off anyone who knows him even remotely. Strangers who incur his wrath, however, will find themselves on the other end of a ghastly, mind-bending experience.
SPECIAL SKILL [stage one]: BREAKING THE SOUND BARRIER
------Barry is able to create sounds at frequencies most other humans can't touch. Be it the silence scream of a dog whistle guaranteed to drive any animals crazy, or the insanity-inducing bellow like a jet engine, he is perfectly able to create it. He has only to declare his action; any non-gods in the vicinity must take a roll against whatever reaction he is trying to induce. Any gods must either be warned or take the same roll.
PARTNERED SKILL: AIN'T NO GRAVE
Barry has always been a trooper. Funny and creative, he is naturally given over to working well in team situations. That being said, he does have a line. When it is crossed, the consequences are immediate--and deadly.
------Barry can throw lightning bolts at 1d10 twice a day. It will always hit.

God of Stories
Giles Conrad Klein || Nachum
Giles is, and has always been, a natural performer. Quick to distract the weary or listless with a retelling of an old favorite, or a new story on the spot, he is easily described as adaptive. When it comes to panic or fear, he is just as naturally able to assuage and calm. Because of his friendly and supportive attitude, having him around makes everyone that much more stable.
SPECIAL SKILL [stage one]: LET'S PUT A SMILE ON THAT FACE
------While around Giles, other Gods are no longer susceptible to the Hunter's Fear Effect. This skill is no longer able to be used if he is in any way muted (knocked out, gagged, really sick, silenced).
+UPGRADE: Giles gets a permanent +1 to his defense rolls

PARTNERED SKILL: THE ROAD GOES EVER ON
Giles, left behind by Tizan, gains the respective powers of his other half. Once so in tune with his comedic partner, he can still reach out and feel his friend's power and energy there--and call upon it.
------He is able to create a blizzard, causing 1d8 damage and distracting the Hunter's minions.
+UPGRADE: 1d10 damage now.

God of Courage and Despair
Adam Thaddeus Knight || Tyre Astyrian
Adam is often kept awake by his mental instabilities. Whether voluntarily or roused by his nightmares, he finds it especially impossible to sleep on stormy nights. That being said, there is certainly an advantage to this: alertness. Because of his former kidnapping, it is near impossible to catch him unawares.
SPECIAL SKILL [stage one]: I AM THE NIGHT
------The Hunter will never catch Adam by surprise. He always has one round of warning before they are draw into combat with him.
PARTNERED SKILL: UNTOUCHABLE
To Be Revealed
------

|| ON THE CITY AND HOME BASE
----------------You are given free reign throughout modern-day New York. You can go anywhere at any time, sleep anywhere. That being said, you have an option to sleep at 'the Mansion'.
----------------The Mansion is an abandoned white house outside of town. It is immaculately kept, despite its being abandoned--it also seems only the Fallen Gods can see it. The rooms are personalized to each upon the occupant's arrival: when the person claims a room and shuts the door, it will arrange itself to suit the occupant perfectly. The refrigerator is tiny, but will give the one who opens it everything they are thinking of. There is no need to stock it. Same with the pantry.
----------------It is also important to note that The Mansion will be the only safe zone in the city from The Hunter. Once inside, he cannot cross the threshold. You also cannot attack him from it.

|| ON WHAT YOU HAVE
----------------When you arrive, you have $250 on hand, ONE special item of your choosing, and a cell phone with an unlimited plan (explain that however you would like). You are wearing modern day clothing and have whatever rudimentary knowledge of the city that you would have had already--e.g. if you have arrived from South Africa, you will not know the layout. However, if you have lived here all your life, you will understand how to get around. You will know precisely where The Mansion is at all times instinctively (the same way that you were lead here in the first place), and you will know how to speak English on at least an eighth grade level.

|| IMPORTANT|| THE HUNTER
-----------------You are not alone in the city. Once most of the gods have assembled at The Mansion, a Hunter will spring to life in the city (See: People of Note). He has one goal: The assured destruction of the fallen gods. It is not known who put him up to this. It is uncertain what, precisely, he is. All that is known is that he is utterly impossible to defeat alone, and he will not stop until all the gods lie dead and scattered once more.

|| SOULMATES
----------------The human word "Soulmate" was only ever created to describe the bond between two gods. It is not, as some might assume, romantic or even inherently sexual. Historically speaking, the gods did not even have to get along with their Soulmate. All that the term really means is that you are bound to another God in such a way that you compliment one another perfectly.
----------------Each of the gods has a Soulmate. This particular person is "keyed" to you. Upon touching the other for the first time, the "keying" will occur. Once keyed, you can tell instinctively where the other is at all times, experience some degree of empathy, and gain an power previously locked. As a pair, you stand a better chance against The Hunter.

|| POWERS AND EVENTS
----------------The Gods will each start off with a power assigned by me and posted on the front page. It will be weak at first. Once they have "clicked" with their partner, not only will they gain a special ability (only capable of use around their partner), but their original ability will begin to evolve and grow in power. I will update them as the plot progresses.
----------------I am also using a system of randomly generated events and probability (It's way too complicated for me to explain here, hah). Certain things you do/declare/buy will up the chances of your having special events or other such things happening. This will be revealed in a "global event" box written by me.

|| PEOPLE OF NOTE
----------------NAME: ??? | A.G.
This mysterious albino man is presumably the owner of The Mansion and seems to know more about you than you do yourself. He leaves notes at random in the house for its occupants and will often give useful information on things happening around in the city--for what price, though?

INFORMATION OF NOTE: None known

----------------NAME: N'RASZTHARRULL THE HUNTER
What is he? No one knows. All that is clear is he does not care for the reincarnated gods and that he does not care who sees his true form. He does not bother with disguises and will not be deterred by watching eyes, it seems.

INFORMATION OF NOTE: N'Rasztharrull has a +3 to hit and damage against any opponents who are reincarnated gods. In other words, stay away from him.

----------------FIGHTING
EVERYONE MUST READ THIS AND SHOW ME THEY HAVE DONE SO

:::RULES OF FIGHTING:::

Should a character engage in a fight with another one, or with an NPC (i.e. soldiers), these rules are to be followed.

ALL CHARACTERS HAVE 15 HIT POINTS. ONCE YOU HAVE TAKEN 15 HIT POINTS IN DAMAGE, YOU ARE DOWN FOR THE COUNT--YOU REMAIN CONSCIOUS AND CAN NO LONGER FIGHT

You MUST use the post action button, and click ROLL DICE. Use the d20. Roll it ONCE if you are starting combat, TWICE if you are being attacked. The rolls that show up in your post will be effective IMMEDIATELY--you may have to edit your post. I would have made it a different way, but this way we can all see your roll. It is to protect you from accusations of godmodding <3

The first roll is your blocking roll:
1: You take full damage and are knocked completely prone.
2-5: You fail to block and take a full blow of the opponents roll.
6-10: You succeed minimally. You take an attack of 1 fewer than the opponents roll.
11-12: You take an attack of 2 fewer.
13-15: You take an attack of 3 fewer.
16-17: You take an attack of 4 fewer.
18-19: You take an attack of 5 fewer.
20: You block successfully. You dodge the attack entirely.

The second roll (or first, if you are starting combat) is your attack roll:
1: You hurt yourself or fall over.
2-5: You miss completely--no damage.
6-10: You succeed minimally--1 damage.
11-12: 2 damage.
13-15: 3 damage.
16-17: 4 damage.
18-19: 5 damage.
20: UNLESS THE OPPONENT BLOCKS WITH A 20, you knock them prone.

IF YOU BLOCK WITH A 20 AGAINST A HIT OF A 20, YOU TAKE NO DAMAGE.

IF YOU ARE ATTACKED BY MORE THAN ONE PERSON AT ONCE:
You may take only two attacks on different opponents, or you can focus on one. It is your choice.

αℓєʈα YESHAYA ʂιℓνєɾ

know that, when I HATE you
it is because I LOVE you
to a point of passion that
unhinges my soul

User Image
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Yeshaya scowled at the mansion in front of her.

Winding her black scarf tighter around her neck and shaking her arms in her jean jacket, she stared around the seemingly-abandoned property (she had not dressed warmly enough for October in New York, but that was neither here nor there, and she was tough). Strange. It was too close to New York City to truly be deserted and so untouched. And yet, it was. She glanced behind her at the skyline of the city, as if expecting an officer to spring up on her. The former marine was accustomed to such easy pickings being traps of one sort or another, though her brain assured her the idea was ridiculous, and besides, she'd scoped out the mansion for a day already. It did really seem to be uninhabited.

Rolling her shoulders, she stepped up to the door, her left hand on the glock resting on her hip. Yeshaya pushed the door open and raised the gun. A main hallway of blue and faint touches of beige on the chair railing laid out before her, all polished hardwood floor, with a grand stairway leading up and splitting up to an upper floor, pillars dotting the large, empty room.

"Hello? Is anyone home?"

No answer. She grimaced at that. If it weren't for the nagging pull in her stomach, she would leave. But something in her demanded answers, and they rested in this place. Scanning the ground floor with her silver eyes, they came to rest on a note tacked to the nearest pillar. Yeshaya untacked it, scanning the note.

"Greetings!

Doubtless you are confused as to why you are here. Do not be alarmed; all shall be revealed in due time. In the meantime, make yourself at home. You shall find a suitable accommodation for yourself upstairs; pick any room, and it will tailor itself to your desires. You are safe from all on this property--save your fellow travelers, of course--so be certain to use it as a place of rest.

The kitchen is fully stocked for whatever you desire. Once you are all gathered, further information on your highly unusual predicament will be made known to you.

Enjoy yourself!

A.G.
"

The former Marine glared at the note. More people? What predicament? What the ******** was all this about?

          Aishe knew one thing very well, and that was how to work a crowd. Hardly a tall woman at 5'1", she would not usually have made it in the stripping scene, were it not for the fact that she sported killer tits, a tiny waist, and hips that didn't lie. Not to say that Aishe herself never lied, but that was another topic for discussion later.

          Winding herself around the pole to an excited crowd, Aishe felt the rush of all the eyes on her body, a winning smile playing across her lips. She was accustomed to headlining at the club. Business was always unusually good on nights when she stripped, and on days, like now--well, the club owners were quite happy to have her.

          Finishing up her set, she blew a little, provocative kiss to her audience and strutted backstage, ignoring her discarded clothing on the floor. Immediately her expression settled into apathy the moment she was out of sight.

          Great set! One of the other, newer girls called. Aishe flashed her smile at the new one, giving her a wink too. "Thanks, doll~"

          Any plans for today? The girl seemed nervous, but Aishe was used to that. It seemed she had another giddy little girl crushing on her. The short French-Pakistani woman fluttered her fingertips across the girl's jawline.

          "Mm, I'm considering going shopping, and then I've got a little exploring to do around the city. You look delicious, doll~ Go knock them off their feet~"

          O-o-oh! I'll try! Aishe grinned at the blushing girl, turning about to her dressing room to put some semblance of clothing on again. Pulling on a tank, a cropped sweater and a silky, brightly patterned skirt (as well as gold dripping necklaces and bangles), she corrected her blonde curls in the mirror before skipping out the back door (after collecting her tips) and into an alleyway on Manhattan. Inhaling deeply, she checked her cell phone for the time. She had a little time before nightfall; might as well get some new clothes.

          Purring at the thought, she took off down the alley.
