Welcome to Gaia! ::

[ ! ] The Chamber of Blades [ ! ]

Unfortunately there is no picture that can do this justice.

Overview ::
The room is a large sphere around a platform in the center. Along the sides of this sphere are an array of whip-like blades. They cannot kill a person no matter how they hit them but they will indeed lash open the body and leave the painful cuts that cannot be ignored by the most hardened of warriors. Due to the spheres, nature the Platform stays gravitationally held in the center so it does not move however the sphere is rolling around in a much larger arena that has all sorts of random twists and turns. The sphere has three layers the inner and outer are connected while the center layer rotates at an extremely high velocity creating a unique gravitational pull on the inside of the chamber that pulls with 50lbs of resistance away from the center of the arena in all directions. This means that no matter where a warrior is they are held off balance unless in the very center of the arena. However nowhere is safe from the whip blades that move randomly.

Epochs of this arena:
First: Every three posts one action is spent on a blade from the arena. This consists of, seeing it and blocking or defending or taking the hit all count. Interrupting an attack (only done by the player initiating the attack) also counts. (In other words, a defending player cannot use a whip blade to defend himself that has to be something written in by the player example: Bob Punches at Joe but a whip blade hits his arm midway and his punch is hindered by a fresh line of blood on his arm.)

Second: Every Post has to relate the gravitational force. If one is standing in one spot and is incredibly muscular. they can stand in one spot for up to four posts. Afterward, their leg muscles give out and they are thrown to the wall whipped several times before recovering and being able to move back to the center. For a physically weak person, they have up to two posts of standing in one spot. If the player is in the dead epicenter of the arena this epoch is voided. But only one person can hold the center at any given time.

Arena Specifications
The whips deal moderate damage, giving cuts and bruises where they hit. These cuts and bruises cannot be healed for the remainder of the fight. If one limb is hit three times it is numbed and reduced to 50% strength.

Of all the places…

Of all the times…

This was, surely, the most diabolical device that Dithakar had ever encountered.

The monk, his physical manifestation having taken hold mere seconds ago, stood toward the outside of this newest arena; The death trap having remained at rest, no doubt waiting for the arrival of his next opponent. So far, the aged martial artist had fought his way through based on the understanding that his training was comprehensive.

Complete.

And yet, here he stood, with no prior experience for what he was about to endure.

Garakon had made it dreadfully clear from the onset that this, his “Chamber of Blades” had been engineered as the ultimate proving ground for those warriors who dabbled in the physical realm.

It certainly had the Overlord’s flair for brutality.

All the same, Dithakar decided to check himself mentally one last time before the next fight began; And, in effect, unleashed Hell upon them.

The man, who looked the better portion of fifty, stood with his chiseled form facing straight ahead. He was roughly six feet and an inch tall, weighing near 170 pounds. His hair was a memory, and the bare scalp sported two crimson dots in the midst of his forehead. One higher than the other just above his bushy brow. Bright blue eyes, like a flash of lightning, were set beneath that. The gaze he offered almost seeming to look beyond, maybe even through, whatever lay before him. His wizened features were somewhat concealed by a thick black beard; but matched perfectly his physic, stern and strong.

His attire was fairly simple, mostly oriental in style and cut. He wore a large brass necklace, each connecting piece like miniature golden gongs. Hung in the midst of that, a larger circular pendant which resembled a tiger with claws sunk deep into the sides of a multifaceted ruby. A black undershirt, topped by a simple yellow wrap acted as the only covering for his muscular chest and broad shoulders. His left arm was covered in a brown leather gauntlet that started at his large knuckles and ending just above his biceps. The right arm bore the same, and both bindings held several layers of varying thickness. Blue shorts, shot with orange and adorned by a belted tabard, that ended at the knee; and a pair of thick blue bandages that started just above his leather tabi boots and blended into the clothing above, completed his look.

He was whole, ready!

And, given the time to ponder, he turned his mind to the stirrings of strategy.

How best to use this venue to some form of advantage? Of course, there were the immediate and obvious dangers; razor-sharp, and glimmering in the manufactured light. But that, alone, would not have been so terrible. It was the knowledge that here, no matter how hard he fought to maintain, he would always be pulled toward those blades.

Unless, of course, he could hold his ground in the middle.

As steel cleat boots trekked onto the seen before the man wearing them, one thing was certain.

"Who ever made this s**t plays too many ********' video games."

T
he Russian Meta mused as his eyes narrowed upon the opponent for the round. A man larger than him in more than one way, though he doubted the strength between himself and the apparent monk would vary much at all. As he would be noticed, his attire had completely changed from the usual get-up he wore. He wasn't as flashy today as he normally was, nor did he rock the infamous Panda Bear Hoodie he was known for...No. Today he sported a Kevlar vest over a beater, a pair of black, white, and grey camo pants, a black bandanna tied about his head, and fresh boxer's tape hugging his fists from the knuckles to just below the elbows. With a chuckle and a shaking his head in a 'no' manner, he couldn't help but think: 'Too bad this shitty cheap vest ain't blade proof....Death proof for that matter.

Almost immediately upon arrival, Bishop sighed lightly as he pulled his spiked cestus' free from his hip, pulling them on one by one and securing the leather straps accordingly. Once finishing he looked back up at the monk with a coy smirk, his hazel eyes aiming to look the man right into his own two eyes. Nothing to challenge or intimidate. It was more so respectful to make eye contact when speaking to someone.

"Looks like it's me and you mayn....I hope ya' ate'cha Wheaties this mornin'. I did."

O
n that not, Bishop made his way into the orb of death. Ready for yet another beat down session. One that he would never forget, whether he won or lost. This was the opponents only shot at viewing Bishop's entire arsenal. His two Spetznas Ballistic Knives, Custom Morning Star, and last but not least the Sonic Pulse Pistol. From the brief description given of this arena, Bishop's main advantage was the pulse pistol. For as long as he could use it properly in this crucible of an arena, the monk would find it incredibly difficult to counter. Closed in proximity with a pulling force willing to yank any and all poor items within towards the edges...Come to think of it, His mace and his knives would have little use in this match. That gravitational pull would absolutely ruin the functioning of the projectiles involved.

"They call me Bishop by the way."

T
hough it wouldn't be obvious, Bishop had some light respect for monks now after becoming acquainted with Tenkai. Though old habits died hard. And being a street hardened thug didn't change this fact. Monk or not, this guy was a stranger. That was all he needed to remember. He didn't know this *****' Adam from Apple...Nor did he want to. Though somewhere in there, God voice persuaded him to give some sort of formality, even if it was a half assed one.

In that moment, Dithakar imagined that he might have time to perform his Wai Kru; That, perhaps, the forces beyond his sight which controlled this hellish container of pain would allow them a moment's respite.

And then the whirring began.

It started slow, unseen gears of untold sizes that clanked and groaned to life beneath their feet. A scrapping of metal upon metal...vicious wall ornaments sparking their first angry light as the walls began to rotate. He could not feel the pull immediately, but a dread sensation draped his mighty frame; And he knew, beyond any doubt, that one of them was going to be seriously harmed today.

For an instant, he forgot about the ever present call.

In that place, standing upon the precipice of disaster, he wanted desperately to bow out...peacefully. Not out of fear for self, or desire to avoid injury.

It was to protect the young man he faced...

From himself.

But, as the first draw of gravity began to weigh against the elderly warrior and the two combatants locked eyes, Dithakar's resolve hardened his kindly heart. The sword, if he would no longer feed it, must be passed to a new hand...

A worthy hand.

There was nothing else to say, and as the grinding tones of aggressive music filled what air around them that wasn't already dripping with retched scowls of steel, it would've been impossible to hear one another anyway.

So Dithakar afforded the man a simple nod, and the battle began.

Without hesitation, the aged monk rocketed into action; Right hand dropping down to his belt where powerful fingers gripped the length of chain that waited there, while his feet went one over the other as fast as they could. Trying to abuse the earliest phases of gravity before its grip became stronger still, and his first attack fell uselessly away. He would lead that short forward movement with a sudden lifting of his left leg...as though he attempted to stomp down upon something. However, he withdrew the knee, and then struck out; The whole of his upper body leaning back as he initiated a quick Tepe kick to Bishop's chest.

The chain, with it's grappling hook attachment, freeing its self from the tabard hook with an unheard clink.

His footfalls having brought him just outside the center of their ring.

Bishop held a s**t eating grin the the machine started up. It reminded him of that space ship ride at the carnival, but worse...Way worse. Though that didn't matter for this ice breaking attack. A kick was sent for his chest. Simple enough. As the kick came forth, one would think he was just willing to take the hit on the bulletproof vest. Though tat wouldn't be right...It was truly poor protection against much else than bullets from a certain distance away. Though as the left legged kick was made obvious through body language, Bishop pivoted right on his center of gravity as stepped to his left, maintaining a circular stride to remain in the inner ring and stay close to his opponent. Simultaneous, his fist would rocket into a right straight, aimed at the knee/shin of the attacking leg. Those wretched spikes aiming to combine with the strength of the Compound V coursing through his veins in order to fracture something if not break it. An average man would have his bones reduced to crumbled cement from few direct hits dealt by Bishop.

If he proved successful in his attack, He was prepared for the oh so infamous follow up. He would either step in and twist his body, torquing his upper body with a roll of a shoulder to toss a right hook at the mans hip/kidney range. Or, if he hadn't the ability to follow up for any reason. He was prepared to defend himself however he could. Just like the man before him, he was primed for battle, just in a much different way than the monk. Best part was, this guy might have assumed the smaller yet still defined Bishop was lacking compared to his rugged and cut body.

Compound V
This million dollar steroid is taken one time only. The purpose of the serum is to enhance strength and speed in a human being in order to make them a more formidable opponent against other/out world-ish creatures. This serum also allows for larger burst of adrenaline to travel through the blood stream at a slightly accelerated speed, this makes the user experience an unnaturally high threshold for pain. There was, of course, a reason why martial artists led with the Tepe maneuver.

It was quick, powerful, and effective. Beyond all of that, however, the technique had brought his left foot into the central section of the arena. The place where gravity was at it's most normal, and the place into which his opponent now moved to strike him. Bishop's jab was simple enough, and he no doubt possessed some type of unusual quality that gave him strength.

But the facts would not change.

The younger fighter had punched out against the pull that was upon them both, which gave Dithakar the critical milliseconds he needed to get in and defend. He redirected his foot back towards the ground as soon as he caught sight of his opponent's move to the left, and thus lowered his stance. His own left hand would then flash out, knifing in to catch hold on Bishop's striking arm just behind his Cestus' cuff; Effectively the start of his first grapple of the match and a method by which to halt the strike.

If that was successful, he would immediately shift his rear leg up and forward...attempting to pull back upon the appendage he'd grabbed to draw Bishop over himself and down to the younger fighter's own right side.

It was likely that Dithakar's opponent would resist, expected even, But the Monk's center of gravity was far lower...and he had another card to play.

His right arm swung over and around, bringing 15ft of coiled chain link...and a sturdy grappling hook...down upon Bishop's left shoulder; Angled to wrap over his back, and down to the other fighter's right hip. Dithakar was careful to only provide a specific length of that weapon, however; Enough to twine its way around his enemy and...with any luck...find solid purchase upon Bishop's vest.

There was still the threat of that intended right hook, but the elderly monk had dropped down...and there were other things to worry about in Bishop's world.

It would be his decision whether or not to press the assault.

One. One word crossed his mind when he noticed the incredible speed if the monk. 's**t!'. Though in reaction, he did something more productive than speak. He would inhale extremely deep and fast, however it didn't stop their, as the monk shifted his feet into position, he released a torrential force in the form of exhaling.

Super Breath
This is the ability to create hurricane force winds by blowing, and to chill an individual's breath in order to freeze a target. This ability has also been called "freeze breath", "ultra breath" and "arctic breath". Individuals possessing this ability can also breathe in large amounts of air, an ability used when dealing with and disposing things like clouds of poison gas.
- Halting a foe if not pushing them back or further away from himself. = 2 Cooldown Posts.

SWOOSH!!!

T
he guts threatened the monk now to be knocked down and away from Bishop. Though the ******** up part was the timing was late enough to catch the hook in his vest. This mean that if the monk was sent flying from the force of push and pull that would end up used on him, Bishop would go flying to. Only if the didn't go flying into those blades facing point at them at all sides of this arena would he continue into a follow up attack.

Dithakar had not anticipated that particular attack, and the only thing that spared him being thrown...literally..into the writhing mass of wall blades was the sum total of both men.

Together, as they were now, the blast of air was still enough to force them both back the way that the monk himself had just come; And away from the center. His blackened whiskers pushed by the burst, as his tabard billowed below. Traces of frost forming upon his chest, and clinging, from the chill wind.

But cold did not affect the Astral fighter as it did most.

Dithakar set his feet, and they slid; The elderly warrior leading as he drug the younger man along behind him.

Which, however, brought something new to light.

The monk had enacted a two-part hold upon Bishop with the first, his powerful grip upon the brawler's right forearm; And the chain, with its grappling hook attachment, looped over his right shoulder. Both forms of connection now ripping the aged martial artist's opponent to the left with not only his own spiritually enhanced strength, but also the force lent him by the [Super Breath] ability. It was not impossible, however unlikely, that Bishop would be able to resist the incredible force applied to him; A strength that would, effectively, drive him to face away from Dithakar.

Leaving his back open to attack.

Should that occur, the mendicant would stand with his left leg forward...The arm on that side having released it's hold on Bishop's right arm in favor of turning the other fighter about.

And then he knew pain.

The first of many terrible razors lashed out from the wall, and scored a line of vicious crimson upon that left-side appendage; Wrapping around, and pulling taught before slicing it's way to freedom. As had been promised, the wound was hardly fatal...or even detrimental...but the craftsman responsible for it's make certainly understood the underpinnings of agony.

All thought of his next step fled from him.

All the plans he had made for his target once he'd been given his back...

Gone.

So, as his placid face turned to grimace, he did the only thing he could think to do...Given the success, or failure, of his attempt to turn Bishop away.

He leapt, and hammered out with both feet; Pulling his injured arm, already reddening from smeared blood, in as close to his chest as he could on his way to the floor. A drop kick that would strike just above the small of Bishop's back, and...with the chain still hooked...possibly send the younger man to the floor.

As Bishop was pulled into a force that would cause him to turn about face, his right hand swung out viciously in a terrible hook. Hit or miss wasn't distinguishable without feeling connection while rotating. Ultimately though he ended up back to the monk. As the blades released from the wall around them, he was left completely vulnerable. Abrasions accented his form by slicing his left cheek, his left arm, and his left thigh. The one thing he wouldn't experience like his opponent would be the pain. His abnormally high tolerance for pain thanks to that wonderful Compound V. So a** his opponent recovered from his own acquired wounds, Bishop grit his teeth ferociously. Grunting lightly in pain though the music they fought with masked the sound. Turning counter clock wise to make the chain wrap around his lower torso a bit, his left lashed out and grasped the chain, followed by his right hand as he continued to rotate.

As he kept with his rotation, one of two things would happen. Bishop would senselessly begin wrapping himself with the monk's chain, or the monk would only have a limited slack that would cause him to be yanked as he entered his drop kick. With the first option, Bishop would receive drop kick to the gut, inadvertently being knocked down. Though if the second option were accurate, the monk would find himself in the situation of abandoning his footing and being pulled into spinning motion. Suspended by the chain he began to attack with. It the attack made it that far, Bishop wouldn't hesitate to toss the opponents weight into the outer ring of the arena, at which point he would take a leap of faith in an attempt to trap the monk between himself and the sword tipped wall.

Unfortunately for Bishop, the chain's length allowed Dithakar his dropkick; Albeit in his opponent's stomach, as opposed to his back. But, in many ways, that was far better for the Spiritually enhanced warrior.

For, even though the younger fighter possessed the powers of his mysterious drug; The elderly mendicant was empowered by a mixture of faith, pain, and the mysterious Yoshiryuu.

His attack, drilled into the Russian's gut, would hit him with at least as much effect as a normal dropkick to a normal person, perhaps hurting him even more via the power of his [Eight Deadly-points], and [Stone of Ki].

Eight Deadly-points :: Dithakar is a master monk in the discipline known as Muay Thai, a style that utilizes offensive potency through the feet, knees, elbows, and hands. This fact is responsible for the practice of Muay Thai also being known as the “Eight Deadly-points”. Though the most famous use by far, Muay Thai is not strictly offense based, and it’s defensive measure is known as “The Five Bands of Iron”. Which focuses on the use of shins, forearms, and the torso (specifically the abdominal, and pectoral muscles.) to defend against attack. Because of this, these areas are highly resistant to pain, and trained to deliver, or receive, massive amounts of damage. Minor injuries (Such as, but not limited to: shallow cuts, abrasions, physical concussive force [fists, feet, and the like].) to the eight sections, or the five, are easily shrugged off and will only serve to draw the monk into a aggressive state, known as Rage.

Stone of Ki (Magic-Lawful-Diamond) :: Dithakar’s un-armed body is empowered with Ki, or soul-energy. His attacks are treated as magical axiomatic diamond weapons (this is not incorrectly worded, it is merely an example based on it's D&D counterpart.), and can damage any creature not immune to all three. With this ability, his Eight Deadly-points can reduce stone to dust, and crack any armor (save metals such as tungsten carbide, depleted uranium, or alloy 1090) like an egg shell given enough direct hits. (This is more to the effect of, if he can hit it...he can break it...given enough time. Again, this relies upon an opponent taking hits and identifying that their armor, for example, is damaged. This ability is listed more as a statement of potential ability, not to seem that he's able to crush an armor plate in one hit.) The lawful quality is especially detrimental to chaotic beings (such as devils, and certain extra-planar creatures), or creatures which shift or change physically and mentally. (Detrimental meaning that it hurts them as though they were human, as opposed to the protections provided by such racial qualities) The magical attribute allows his body to directly interact with magical reinforcements such as shields of energy or enchanted armor. This ability stems from all three parts of the monk’s training; utilizing mind (magic), body (diamond), and soul (lawful). The Lotus-Ryuu is treated, for all intensive purposes, as though it too possesses this quality.

'THRUMPH!'

Despite the powerful hit, it would be almost impossible to hear as the death machine whirled ever on around them. But Dithakar would feel it in the soles of his boots, just as Bishop no doubt would soon feel it all over. He released his grip on the chain, content in the knowledge that he had no further use of it as his target was knocked away.

Besides, the aged warrior had to get back to his feet.

With an audible 'crack', his shoulders and upper back collided with the floor; Both hands shooting back to press hard into the platform's surface as his knees bent in, and his muscles tensed throughout the whole of him.

Like a spring, he ricocheted off the ground and back to a standing position.

Left arm coated in a thin layer of blood that had all but reached his hands.

However, the ever present tug of gravity pulled him back further from not only his enemy...but also the center of the Arena...leaving him much too close to that ever rotating wall of torment.

He needed to get back in the fight, back toward the middle, and end this NOW!

Dithakar called out, then, for his weapon; Drawing upon the forces that lay beyond the veil to summon his Lotus-Ryuu. A call that started as little more than a glimmering light in his right palm, and slowly grew in intensity.

Lotus-Ryuu :: Made through and through of Astral Harmony, a much more powerful variant of his own ((See Harmony below.)), and blessed by his faith; the Lotus-Ryuu is capable of conducting the power housed within both his Eight Deadly-points, and Stone of Ki abilities into its self. Naturally, this makes the staff as hard as diamond (For the purpose of durability, and somewhat in appearance.) and capable of dealing magical and lawful damage(See Stone of Ki below for more details.). Because of this, the Lotus-Ryuu is also able to deflect non-material energy based projectiles of any type or nature. It is extremely beautiful, and seemingly made of crystalline sparkles that throw off a golden light all there own. This feature allows the staff to act as a light source (capable of piercing even magical darkness) equivalent in coverage to a handheld torch, but provides no heat and can never be extinguished so long as it is present on this plane. The Lotus-Ryuu is also capable of some minor alterations to it's physical shape, at Dithakar's discretion. It may, in addition to its natural appearance, separate equally or unequally at any juncture along its length either entirely, or by way of interlocking chain links made of astral force (It is important to note that Dithakar must actively alter the staff with his own hands. Though it may split into many various types of stick, or stick and chain, weaponry it can not do this due solely to enemy attack. I.e. if intent to separate this weapon is stated, then it must be done so reasonably in regards to either his limbs, body, or said object upon which it is being struck. Dithakar may separate his weapon as part of an attack, or block, so long as the intent to do so is stated in advance.). Typically, this added effect is used to turn the Lotus-Ryuu into a triple bar staff, a flail, or occasionally a set of fighting batons. Naturally, the staff is 8ft in length and, due to its magical construction, nearly weightless to its possessor. However, this does not effect it's striking abilities, as explained above. The specific configurations of the Lotus-Ryuu’s many weapon forms activate solely at Dithakar’s discretion, but may never exceed the 8ft length and can only undercut it for the specific weapon forms (such as the Nunchaku, which would require that a portion of the staff be removed). Another quirk is the silencing effect caused by the harmony, which means that this weapon…or anything that it touches…doesn’t make a sound. Hence, when Dithakar wields the Lotus-Ryuu, he can not be heard in the least, but he can still hear just fine. Like-wise, other weapons do not “clash” when hitting this staff. In effect the staff allows Dithakar to move silently and attack in similar fashion. Though, theoretically possible it is unlikely that the staff could be used to “silence” an opposing spell caster as the effect lasts only so long as the staff is directly touching something…with the silencing property ending immediately once the object or person in question is no longer in contact with it, He can summon Lotus-Ryuu at any time, However it takes one post to form unless stated as “summoned” at the start of a match. Should it, somehow, be broken, the staff reforms un-harmed in a week. He may dismiss the Lotus-Ryuu at any time so long as he can see it, and the staff will automatically disperse if removed from his sight

His feet stamped down, and he was off once more. Trying, with all his strength, to get to Bishop before the younger fighter had a chance to untangle himself from the chain. To bring the staff into play, and finish the battle...once and for all.

The light took form, and his footfalls fell silent.

"OOPH! HACK!"

T
he it would go unheard, it was felt this time. The vest helped in the aspect of preventing winding him, though the impact was more rough than intended. As his back hit the ground, Bishop almost vomited...Dry heave. Though he already felt the pull of the strange gravity vacuum , and so he knew he had absolutely no time to rest...no time to stop. His tightly shut eyes from the drop kick, swiftly shot wide open as they looked to the monk whom was climbing to his feet. Bishop would raise to his feet as the monk began to summon his shimmering staff. As the staff became a solid, Bishop's feet were firmly planted as his legs strained to pull from an object at rest to and object in motion, though fighting against force. This must be what it felt like for a stuntman standing in the pull of a jet engine...Though obviously not as intense.

Simultaneously, He was still wrapped around one time by the chain, the hook caught in his vest. And so he pulled vest off, literally ripping it from his torso and hoisting it up and over his head. Captured in the wrath of the bladed wall revolving around them at high speeds, The vest became slivers of it's former glory, the end of the chain violently whipping around at random until it's length clung to the blades pointing at them. As for action, he continued stalking toward the center of the arena, and as the pull on him lessened he'd in turn slowly gain bits of speed. This reflected the everlasting steroid within, blasting through his veins and peaked with his adrenalin. His hard beating so fast so hard it was like an AK-47 blasting through his chest from the inside out.

The monk would reach the center before him, he could see it, especially with his staff's reach. And so he only had one fell safe weapon for a long ranged attack since he couldn't yet use his super breath again. His energy was almost prepared for another burst, but almost only counted in horse shoes. Reaching behind his back with his left hand, Bishop plucked his infamous S.P.P. free from it's pistol grip. Bringing it around him self his arm raise and aimed at the monks mid section. It was the biggest target a person had, and it would still perform it's effects if used properly. And that one attack would call this in the swiftly climaxed fight...It would make or break Bishop's positioning in this fight. And that was something he could not afford. 'Almost...'

Dithakar, seeing the firearm, skidded to a stop at the Arena's center.

The beam of radiance that he held grew more concentrated, and defined; Compacting itself into a the shape of a bo-staff, 8ft in length. To any looking on, the weapon would seem to be made of sparkling light...Or perhaps some brilliantly shinning crystal.

However, as the elderly monk held his ground, the staff remained gripped in his right hand.

They had reached a critical moment, here; And it was likely that both fighters knew it. But there was a reason why Bishop had chosen not to fire, and that forced Dithakar to consider the implications. Was he waiting for the strength to use something else? His breath attack, perhaps? That was, after all, the only ability he had showcased thus far.

It was time to test him, again.

The aged fighter started to stalk forward, an activity that was made easier as he moved in Bishop's direction; And, thus, with the pull of gravity. He was still too far away to hit him with the staff, perhaps 10ft, so he kept moving. The light from his weapon throwing ever shifting shadows around the room, and making the whirling wall of blades look even more sinister.

Slowly, deliberately, closing the distance.

Soundlessly, their eyes would meet...And Dithakar would smile.

As he noticed the monk stop for a moment, he continued to move. He halted once he reached the edge of the inner ring, just close enough to not be pulled by the gravitational force behind him. It was at this moment he noticed that the monk was smiling, creeping towards him with that bo staff. Reaching to his right hip, his right hand pulled his custom morning star free from it's respective custom grip, grasping it firmly in his right hand. His right thumb innately covering a small red button on the shaft of the mace. The smile the monk had given was returned by Bishop trademark Cheshire grin, barring his chrome fangs in a sadistic manner. Though the emotion behind it was pure joy, this was just how he looked.

Ever so slightly did he advance forward as he acquired a sideways stride with an angle of trajectory. This was meant to keep his opponent in front of him as he neared the center of the arena slowly but surely. Not moving straight toward his opponent kept him from direct harms way, though that staff would proved to be a real threat with it's reach in mind. Super breath, ready. S.P.P., ready. Mace, ready. Bishop....Super ready. Sure he still had his spiked cestus' on, though he didn't feel he would reach the monk close enough for that to matter. Only one thing made him decided to move forth with his current path decided to travel. The fact that the longer he stayed further from the center, the more the monk would guard it, maintaining the upper hand in this fight.

His mind raced to keep up with the happening as well as remember pieces of his previous fight with the champion of the infamous Hell's Stride cathedral. He used a staff, and Bishop penetrated it's defensive reach....But could he do it again? Cutting in towards the center in a straight up charge, Both arms lowered at the moment as he hadn't made an initial choice of which to use first. If the monk didn't attack, he would most likely abuse his super breath ability again to open up the defenses he faced. If the monk attacked with the staff, Bishop would do his best to defend with his super breath and/or his mace. Only time would tell the story of what came next, though regardless his next course of action was just about written in stone.

Without warning, literally bringing himself to a halt once more, it seemed that Dithakar was readied to go head on with the charging meta-human.

But, then, his left hand...the hand that he'd left swinging at his side while effecting his forward stride...dipped neatly into another of his combat pouches and flashed back out. Bringing something to bear in his blood-soaked grip.

Before promptly spreading a plethora of multicolored, perfectly rounded, glass marbles straight out ahead of himself; Rolling right into, and under, the path of his oncoming opponent. Each orb clinking audibly against the floor as they collided, and began to roll. Left-to-right went his arm, creating an arc of non-traction that would be practically impossible to avoid.

With that done, Dithakar would ready himself for the train wreck that was no doubt at hand.

That is, until he heard the tell-tell whine of displaced air as the blades unfastened from the walls once more.

He was, however, ready this time; And dropped down and into a crouch, bringing his staff over and around to catch the first razor-whip and deflect it away, as another scored a nipping bite just below his right shoulder.

He felt his muscles clench in response to the pain, but maintained his composure none-the-less.
