NIELAS ARAN

ELEMENTALIST'S iiGUILD

HEADiiAEROMANCER

xNielas whacked Myron lightly on the head with his staff, “Of course we know each other, it would be improper if a guild leader didn’t at least know who the other guild leaders and their high ranking officers were. Besides, I’m old. Old people know everyone.” As Laein more or less functioned on the guild system it was important to know who ran each guild as no matter who you were, something in your life was governed or dealt with by a guild. Not to mention that not just anyone became a guild leader, usually a leader had some kind of renowned that made them stand out.

xEveryone seemed itching to start their quest, to run straight into Calxus controlled territory and fight against impossible odds. Nielas turned to Kajsa, “Your help will be appreciated Executive! Now...” He raised his staff into the sky and shouted, “Onwards! For Laein!” With that he gathered some wind and left down the steps of the academy, gentle gliding down to the bottom. Something seemed off though, when he gathered the air around him he could feel another presence trying to vie for control over it as well. Clearing his mind he closed his eyes and felt the wind around him, to the untrained it sometimes felt like the air could stand still, but in fact the air was always moving. He could feel it though, not a natural air current caused by the movement of objects, but the tug of magic as it took control of the wind. His mind followed the current back to the person who was using wind magic, although this technique of seeing with the wind was a very advance aeromancy trick it didn’t provide a clear image. The spell would only return a generalized shape of what the object or person was. The vision he saw was of a person holding onto a staff of some sort and they were also flying above the ground. He knew exactly who it was.

x“Myron, inform Executive Svennson of what the Headmaster intends for us to do on your way to the east gate . I’ve got to deal with something...” He said as he grabbed the air in front of him as if he were playing tug-o-war and began making pulling motions towards him. Nielas had taken hold of the magic trail leading to the other caster and added his own magic onto it to strengthen the connection, as well as reversing the direction towards him. Simply put he was taking control over the wind that was being used to keep the person afloat and using it to drag them out of hiding and bring them towards him. “You think you could follow me huh?! I’ll have you know no one uses aeromancy around me without me finding out!” He shouted as an auburn-haired girl came floating towards the group with her caduceus. As the girl got closer Nielas remembered that she had been supposed to train with him after the two other students this morning, but he had been interrupted by Herenyonnen’s summon. He’d just have to make an unlikely story to make it seem like he hadn’t actually ditched her, “Good job Aerin, excellent tracking skills. Now, instead of formal training today we are instead going to go on a field trip! How fun!” Nielas released his magic and let go of his control over the wind, whether Aerin chose to remain flying was up to her.

xAerin was one of the most skilled aeromancer’s that trained under Nielas and her added strength would benefit the Laein Liberation Party greatly. “Are your bags packed? Good, neither are mine but that’s OK, the stables usually carry basic supply packs for adventurers on the go. Let’s move out!” Nielas spun around and headed towards the stables. There he would pay for two horses and two basic supply pouches that contained a few rations and basic tools. Exiting the stables he handed the reins of one of the horses to Aerin, “We are going to Eucelid to liberate it from the grasp of Calxus, it will be dangerous so I won’t force you to come. But if you so choose then you can follow me to the East Gate.” He climbed atop his horse and nudged it onwards. Hopefully he didn’t keep everyone waiting too long.

tab tab The shy scholar that Myron was would have his nerves calm a tad, when the survivalist leiutenant patted his shoulders and told him what a good job he had done. Perhaps this was how the puppy felt, when you told him he was a good boy, but just where was Myron's treat? He assumed he'd have to do a few more tricks first, and his stage was waiting for him in Eucelid. To compensate Kajsa's appraise, Myron would whine a low toned 'owww' when bonked upon his head by the head Aeromancer, Nielas wasn't as impressed with Myron's lack of economic awareness. The boy never ran a guild, he wasn't as versed in their workings as the common aristocrat might be; not all the guilds were so tightly knit, after all! Though he had general knowledge on all of them and their origins, thanks to his studies in the Mystic Academy.

Nielas, the supposed leader, was going to fall behind - he said so and called for Myron and Kajsa to go on ahead. The Lycan was quick to do so without being told, and would seem like another party leader in Myron's eyes. The scholar followed his smelly new guild leader to the edge of town, to where they would meet up with Thorn once again. After a brief exchange, it would be made apparent that Kajsa knew just about every darned person around! The unamused ranger seemed familiar to her as well. Figures, the lycans were a very gregarious race by nature - at least the ones in Laein were.

There was another new comrade to join the crew, a female elf that would immediately catch Myron's eyes. She was well tanned, and not very modest in her choice of apparel, not to mention she was quite gorgeous. Where any other man would flash her a glance, or perhaps hit on the beauty in a moments notice, Myron found himself staring for only a minute before his cheeks would turn a bright flush. She was too beautiful, it triggered his stendhal syndrome immediately, and the scholar would switch to a dumbfounded mindset of slurs and mumbles. Kajsa would find herself being bumped in to, when Myron forgot to control his walking pace, and the front of his shoulder and chest would collide with her back.

"S-s-sorry, I dun... don't know... the floor... steps... when they just, whenever we can... horses..." Myron couldn't grasp a train of speech to stick to, and thus it turned in to a mashed up and broken sentence. His arms whailed about and pointed in every which direction, as he tried his best to avert his eyes from the gorgeous and hardly dressed elf he'd later know as Freya. He absolutely had to avoid her for now though, or at least her vision, else he'd make a bigger fool of himself.

Myron trudged about like a zombie that lost some cartilage in his leg, he fumbled over to the stables to request the purchase of a horse. He fumbled in attempting to mount the magnificent steed. He fumbled off the horse's back and again attempted to climb it - this time with the aid of a giggling stable master. It would take several more short breaths for Myron to regain his composure. He would feel as if he just woke up from a bad dream in the middle of class, the stable owner was giving him tips and tricks to riding that he only heard half of; the important half he hoped.

Trying not to appear rude, Myron would try to ignore the beautiful Freya as much as possible, while speaking to the rest of his party. "Uhh well, Nielas said he would catch up shortly. So... we should be ready to leave for Eucelid now." The boy paused with a gulp, before noticing the young Mimelia already by the gate, giving them all a disapproving glare and tapping her foot like an angry mother made to wait. Myron shrugged at this, and tried to smile and feign it off, perhaps blame his superiors instead.

"What, you're not in Eucelid yet? By my word, there are lives at stake!" A strange and familiar voice would echo from inside of Myron's shirt, albeit slightly muffled. The scholar, shocked at first, would rummage through his inner robe to find the book Herenyonnen had given him. Anyone unskilled in the ways of runelore would not fathom that the book could be used as a form of telecommunication, through the use of dual 'echo' runes. When Myron opened the book in an attempt to find the page such a rune was written on, his entire party would witness a long sleeved arm reach out from the pages and grab the young man by the scruff of his collar. The result of this scene would shock and bewilder, for when the arm pulled, Myron's head would vanish within the pages, and it would appear as though he had nothing atop his shoulders besides the book. He became the headless horse riding boy.

"Aaah! Wh-what?!" Myron yelped a noise he hadn't made since before he hit puberty. His hands gripped the side of the book in fear, mostly worried about obtaining a paper cut where the pages were currently located.

"At ease, boy!" The wise and mystical Herenyonnen would speak to Myron alone, as the boy's head popped out of another book on the elf's desk. "Your lack of curiosity baffles me, I was sure you would open my tome much sooner. No matter, this - my boy - is how we are going to save the citizens of Eucelid. Originally, I was waiting for you to graduate, before teaching you how to write a portal rune... however this sudden war has changed the circumstances." With Myron's shirt let go of, the boy would willingly watch as his headmaster performed a series of magical teachings... the likes of which would awe and inspire any other, however they were secluded to the boy's eyes alone.

"Rift? You want to teleport an entire town?" Myron would actually question the headmaster for once, but only because he did not understand the elf's logic just yet.

"No no no, simply push an individual in to the rift rune I've shown you, but make sure they're on our side first. The one written in your book is directly linked to the academy. Oh, and by the way, if you lose that book... you're expelled. Now then, you have your quest details... go now! Go save lives, be a hero! Maybe you'll finally find a girlfriend while you're at it! Women love heroic figures, you know." Herenyonnen dismissed his pupil by adding another bruise to Myron's head, and thus pushing him out of the books division of reality.

Myron would shake his head and rub the bump upon it. When he looked at his party once more, he gave them all a shy smile, hoping that whole ordeal wasn't too strange for them. Such magical things were common in the academy. The horse tamer showed signs of shock.

Herenyonnen was a man proud of his voice, it would be heard loud and clear by anyone in Myron's direct vicinity, and they could all rest assured. Their objectives were now known, it was time for the great quest to liberate Eucelid to begin! But did Herenyonnen really have to mention girlfriends at a time like this? With a flushed face, Myron addressed his squadron.

"W-well... I suppose we know how to save everyone now... Right? So... I guess we should probably go do that... yeah. Ummm, so do I just... get her moving like this?" Myron asked timidly, then attempted something he had seen knights and cavalry do before. He would slap the side of his horse's rear, expecting the beast to begin walking... instead he would find himself clinging to his steed's neck as it began to gallop at full speed east of Tresiel's gates. The boy had only enough time to sheath his book before gripping for his life. "Aaaaaeeeeeeahhhh!" By accident, Myron took the lead and rode off in to the great fields.

What was not known to the scholar, in all his days of research, was how to stop one of these steeds after they've begun their trek. Slapping its buttocks only made it go faster! At the rate he was going, he would reach Eucelid in a few hours at least! Myron whined and cried for help before the battle had even begun, completely lost for control over his steed. At least now, Thorn would have a reason not to be bored, and the villagers of Eucelid would find safehaven much faster. It seemed that the chaos that shrouded Myron guided him in the right direction, whether he liked it or not. He would find his horse slowing down as it entered the forested area that was Due'ene woods. It was here in the break of turmoil that the boy would turn to see if his teammates had actually followed him. His eyes were tearing up from the whole event, and he dared not slap that a** one more time until they caught up.

"My body may be his, but my life is forever my own."

There once came a day when the sun did not rise,
When the stars did not glow,
When the moon did not shine,
A day when there sun did not rise.

And then, there was born, to this kingdom, an heir,
No longer did silence rule the still air.
But screams.
But screams.
Born into madness, our queen.
Our Red Queen.

Minu watched the man intently, gazing upon his disgusted expression. She didn't like the eyes he glared at her with. However, her attention was continually drawn towards the stone slab at his side. She kept looking towards it even though she wanted to stare at his face. Despite the extensive power she had obtained by gathering this piece of the shard, Minu had no magical training at all. As such, she had no knowledge about sensing auras. The shard gave her the ability, but she had no idea how to utilize it at all. She just felt drawn to the stone. She dropped the leg and took a step towards the man, "Hey.." She spoke out, but before she could get her sentence out, the man spoke out in a powerful voice. She couldn't help but feel intimidated by the power in his voice. She took a couple steps back, her face contorting into a feral snarl. She then felt herself start to lift off the ground. She began flailing around a bit, and she could feel the shard slipping from her grasp. She couldn't let that happen. She took the shard, and shoved it in her mouth. Of course, after doing so she realized it probably wasn't a great idea.

In the palm of her hand, the corrupt magic was far from her heart and mind. In her mouth, it's effects were much stronger. She clutched her head as she floated up, using what little mental capacity she still had left to tether herself to the ground. Shadows shot up from the ground, wrapping themselves around her. They pulled her back to the ground, but she didn't stand up to face her opponent. She clutched at her head, fighting the demons. It took her a moment, but she eventually stood. The shadows still tied her to the ground, and she was clearly distracted, but she was holding off the demons from taking her mind. "Say, what's in that rock?" She asked, mostly unmuffled. She had moved the stone in her mouth to lay between her cheek and her teeth. However, the strain was clear in her voice. In this state, she didn't know whether she had the mental fortitude to fight off both the demons and this man.

Location: Small fishing village on the eastern coast of Laein

                                Occ:

Her black heart, in a puddle of blood, it lies,
Not beating, not throbbing, red the carpet, it dyes,
Yet she lives.
Yet she lives.
Our Red Queen...
Our Red Queen.

Over this kingdom rules she,
With iron fists, with hands now claws,
She has long ventured past insanity's jaws;
Eyes zinc black,
She embraces the night,
Skin, pallid; pale
She spars with the light.

                xxxxxKAJSA BJORK SVENNSON

"I wouldn't have it any other way," grinned the Lycan in response to Thorn's banter.

With a passive catch, Kajsa had Thorn's flask between her fingers. Popping the top, she took a helpful swig. Instead of taking a sip to drink, she more or less used the drink as a mouthwash prior to swallowing it. Capping the flask, she tossed it back with out much hesitation. She knew Thron would be ready, and Kajsa certainly had the arm strength to toss the flask at a distance.

Speaking of distance, Kajsa noticed the young Mimi standing by the gates. She looked of complete distain at the moment, to which Kajsa straightened her posture and cleared her throat. What could the group have done to earn such a gaze, and from a such a young soul? Distracted, Kajsa made a notion to blink and return her attention back to the group.

Neilas, as usual, seemed chipper enough to be on their quest. He ordered for Myron to inform the Exacutive, to which Kajsa was very keen to hear. Expectantly she waited for this information, but the words coming from Myron's mouth were not exactly what she had been expecting as he haphazardly collided with her back. Peering over her shoulder to watch the scholar, Kajsa felt that he resembled a bit of a drunkard. What was wrong with him? His eyes had seen something, to which she followed his gaze before it had directly else where fleetingly. Freya…? Kajsa blinked, and her mouth went dry. Was he nervous around pretty girls? A thin smile crossed the lycan's lips as she stared absently at the wood work of the stables. Kajsa was a beautiful lycan. She was smelly and her clothes were torn and her hair was unmentionable. Yes, Kajsa was most certainly unappealing. A thin, almost dark, laugh escaped her lips as she patted some dirt from the remaining leathers from her torso. Noting Neilas and a small woman at the stables, with Myron just about departing it's gates, Kajsa cleared her throat. What was he doing just sitting there? It was then that Kajsa's adept hearing picked up the spell book with a fairly familiar voice speaking up.

Furrowing her brows, Kajsa'a mouth turned agape as Myron's head disappeared with in the book. Seriously taken aback, she glanced towards Thorn and Freya as if to ask if they had seen the same thing. Looking back to Myron and his missing head, Kajsa listened closely. She couldn't hear a thing while Myron was in this state, to which Kajsa was almost glad. He could have been screaming for his life in there, to which Kajsa was somewhat relieved that she did not have to face. Then again, she could still hear the headmaster. She listened to his instructions of the scholar, to which Kajsa did not feel she necessarily had a part of. So, one at a time they would be taking survivors into the Mystic's Academy? Fair enough, she supposed. Then again, Myron's earning of a girlfriend seemed very juvenile as it mixed with the cause of their excursion. Kajsa let out a short scoff. There were three girls in their party now; Mimi (whom seemed too young and bitter for an optimist), Freya (whom seemed to wise and beautiful for a bumbling bafoon), and the unknown little darling that Neilas was bringing with him (to which Kajsa could not even begin to judge). To say the least, Kajsa felt that he had very slim chances in the sight of romance.

Eyes narrowed, and her hands on her hips, Kajsa made head way towards Thorn. He would have better answered for the Lycan, or so she hoped.

"So we'll be using a rune stone to transport allies, right? Has the headmaster shed any light on how we're supposedly going to get into the city?" Kajsa paused, thinking on the matter as the Rangers got ready to depart. The Lycan was making for the gate now, a sinking feeling in her gut. Were they going about this with no absolute plan? If so, Kajsa would make one herself. Hopefully having given Thorn enough time to respond, Kajsa offered a quick bit of aid. "If for any reason you need to earn the trust of the Calxus, use me as leverage. They will recognize myself, and I guarantee that they would reward any human with respect. Do not worry about my outcome in that case, I would not let them harm me," she bartered, her eyes falling quickly towards a sudden gallops to her left. Whizzing by, Myron was all but clinging to the steed's backside as they shot out of the town gates. Taking in a composed breath, Kajsa returned her gaze to Thorn and Freya.

"Lets get going then, ey?" she inferred, before turning her footing and making a jog towards the gates. As she was arriving the entrance and clearly unable to keep up on foot as a human, Kajsa loosened her armor as she padded along. Without much effort, the woman had transformed into her white furred self and continued her jog. Falling to all fours, her speed picked up and the Executive was far from being slow. She made eye contact briefly with Mimi as she left, though not for long.

Out of the city, the white she-beast could keep to speed. Though she had been at it for sometime earlier in the day, the endurance of a Lycan much surpassed that of men. Still a bit uneasy of horses, and the potential of spooking them, Kajsa kept her pace as they entered Due'ene. Though Myron might not have been paying much attention as she passed them in the brush, Kajsa was certainly positioning herself infront of them. If she asserted herself into the front, with the horses to follow behind her, then they were certain to keep a calm footing. Then again, they could most likely tell the difference between a wolf and the much more massive Lycan. She slowed down to a walk as she fell into place, her backside and armor coming into view of Myron and whom ever could keep up with them. Speaking of Myron and the others, the majority had most likely never seen her in form. Though it did not outright occur to her, she glanced behind herself to watch them.

"I've seen their camps and where they've been guarding," stated the woman in a gruff and outlandish voice for human speech. "I can guide you where ever it is the group needs for a better angle." With that, she looked forward as she walked, using all of her limbs to comfortably maneuver some of the brush. Though the path was clear enough for the horses to ride, she couldn't help but make for certain. Regardless, walking on two feet was more comfortable at a walking pace.

AERIN RA'EHR MALKAS

You shouldn't prejudge the worth or value of something by its outward appearance alone . . .

xxx(xxo u txxo fxxc o n t r o lxx)xxx. . .

Following behind the old man was a lot more difficult than the young woman would have hoped. On the way to the Mystic Academy, Nielas flew fast and darted around with great celerity-- only to end up flying through the window of the prestigious university. He was just as energetic as ever, and it always stunned the girl how such an elderly man could have such enormous reserves of energy.

As Nielas entered the academy, Aerin touched down on a small ledge and leaned against the stone wall just outside of where Nielas and a few other individuals were meeting. She glanced in, noticing that these were no normal people, but guild leaders and representatives. It was a gathering of some sort, but the woman could not discern what it was they were talking about. She only recognized a couple of them as well-- Nielas Aran, the Head Aeromancer of the Elementalist's Guild (obviously), Thorn of the Ranger's Guild and Herenyonnen, the great elf that oversaw the Mystic Academy. The other two were a mystery to her; however, from the way they were acting, the young man who sat near Herenyonnen was affiliated with the Mystic Academy whilst the young girl remained a mystery.

Aerin sighed and slid her caduceus back into the holster she carried on her back, she wanted to hear what they were saying. Placing her palms together softly, she closed her eyes-- concealing her beautiful silver irises before whispering to herself silently. Her lips articulated the words "A' sainnsearachd ri gaoth..." and she opened her eyes--her normally metallic eyes flashing a brilliant azure for a moment before the runes along her wrists began to glow and her hands rippled with magical energy. She then forced her hands forward and conjured a gust of wind that flew away from the academy. But, before it disappeared from range, the girl quickly concentrated her magic and shot out a secondary blast--one much thinner, much like a lasso--and guided the wind back towards the academy building. The wind slammed up against the stone and curved around the structure of the building, buffeting every tiny crevice, and exploring about the campus. Aerin was careful, however, to only let a small breeze enter the building where the leaders met.

The magic lasted for merely a moment, all of her presence being masked after the breeze entered the meeting room. It circled overhead, listening to every word being spoken in the room. After the meeting came to a close, the magic--saturated with the conversation--returned to Aerin and relayed the information. The news of war and the destruction that occurred in Eucelid was completely new to her, it was both shocking and nerve-racking. But, she did not have much time to think about it before Nielas was on the move again, she needed to catch up with him.

Running along the balcony just outside the meeting hall, Aerin tugged the caduceus from its holster and leapt from the building, allowing the wings to unfold and carry her up with the wind. Once a safe distance from the meeting hall, she lowered herself softly to the ground and hid around the corner from where Nielas and the others were talking. But it was not long before her location was found out.

Wind swirled vigorously around the girl, Nielas had been using her own magic against her. She quickly attempted to disperse the magic and escape, but it was too late. Nielas's magic was too powerful and he latched onto her before dragging her from her hiding place. She floated towards the group unwillingly like a cat being carried by the scruff of its neck, and looked rather embarrassed and dejected with her long hair falling in front of her face.

As she got closer, Nielas began to speak. “Good job Aerin, excellent tracking skills. Now, instead of formal training today we are instead going to go on a field trip! How fun!”

She groaned, "A field trip? Don't even bother lying to me. I already know what's going on! Besides, I'm not just some kid you can distract with the words 'field trip'!"
The girl continued to simmer awkwardly in the air, "Now put me down, this is embarrassing!"

Once Nielas released his grip on the girl, she fell back to the ground, landing uncomfortably on her rear end. She then stood up, her face glowing red with embarrassment as she dusted herself off. Nielas continued on, “Are your bags packed?" the girl simply narrowed her eyes up at the man. "Good, neither are mine but that’s OK, the stables usually carry basic supply packs for adventurers on the go. Let’s move out!” Afterwards, he spun around and began walking.

The girl followed behind her teacher, protesting this spur of the moment act that Nielas proposed. But, the old man was set on going, despite the fact that he had nearly nothing on his person. Once arriving at the stables, Nielas gather the things he needed and climbed up on one of the horses he purchased. He then offered the girl the reigns to the other horse. Against her better judgment, Aerin complied and pulled herself up on the horse and continued to follow him.

LOCATION? "On my way to the East Gate..."; WHO AM I WITH? "Umm... still with Nielas."; MOOD? "I don't even know anymore... what is going on!?"

"Yup, you would fit in nicely, I think.." Thorn replied to Freya while he catches his bottle with only little effort. Kajsa always had an impressive throwing arm. As Freya claimed that they would not be able to lose her, even if other refused that Freya wuld join, Thorn grins and looks at her. "Oh, that sounds like a challenge, we'll have to someday see if you are able to follow my tracks." Thorn took a bit pride in his ranger skills after all. " But thats to wait untill we have saved this kingdom, unfortunately." Judging that he had to save his drinks, as they would probably have no time to loiter in taverns, Thorn puts his flask back in his bag. As he turns towards his horse, he notices that the girl from Fighters guild.. Mimi, had arrived also and she was seemingly eager to get going too. " Eager to save the world, eh? Glad to see that the pride of Fighters is still there." He half jokingly teases, but didn't have time to hear her answer as the rest of the group, or most of it, made they're way to the gates.

When Myron came closer and noticed Freya, Thorn had hard time keeping a straight face when he saw Myron's reaction, but The ranger managed in it somwhat. Though feint grin was aparent in his face. "Hmh.. I think we wont have any problems in your joining after all.." he said to Freya. She sometimes had that effect on people, especialy on men. Thorn had got used to Freya's tendacy to dress up rather lightly and to her looks. But he too had trouble keeping his thoughts together when he first met her. Thorn never really aimed for any sort of romantic involments with anyone so far either. He had always been a loner, and his way of life this far really didn't give chances to have such things either. So while he often launched jokes with double meanings and such, he never really treated women any diferently than men. They were simply just either allies or enemies, mostly.

The next thing that happened surprised him though. It was not often you see somone's head to disapear in to a book.. But he soon collected himself as he had seen that book before, so he guessed it didn't pose any danger. Also the Headmaster's voice that could be heard inside the book told that this was almost desired, even if somewhat odd way for Headmaster to communicate. As Thorn looked at the scene longer, it returned the grin on his face and Thorn shoulders started to shake as he tried to not laugh at the sight.

What he could gather from Headmasters words, was that the book had runes that would enable teleportation from the desired destination to Academy. That would indeed save some trouble.

Nielas came now too with some, still unfamiliar, female. Perhaps another addon to they're party? They would soon have a small unit for this mission, if even more were to join. Thorn nods to Kajsa's question while swiping away tears caused by his barely controlled laugh. "Yeah, we use the teleportation to get villagers on safety." He confirms and then his exprecions changes to bit more serious when Kajsa suggests the she could play hostage for them. He didn't like that thought as too many things were still unknown and it could have it's own risks. But that certainly was one option to get her inside and workable idea to earn Calxian's trust. "We'll see there what we need to do but I trust you-" His words were cut in midle, as Myron speeded past past them with his uncontrolled horse. Watching silently as Myron went past, he soon bursts into laughter. This boy was hilarious. "Haha, yeah lets roll." He says to Kajsa as he jumps on to saddle of his horse and speeds after Myron, still laughing.

"This is going to be a riot."

Once outside the city, Thorn had no trouble in keeping with the uncontrolled speed that Myron's horse went, and once he stopped, Thorn takes the reins of Myron's horse. Horse that was not controlled could easily harm itself. Aparently though the horse was exhausted, but could still keep going if they went on a calm pace. "Try to control your mount, unless you want to be killed by it." he says and throws the reins to Myron. "You have atleast read a book or few about it, so you know how it should hapen." Thorn then turns his attention to Kajsa and nods. "It's good to know where they are, but I think we should not yet go too close untill we have a plan and know exactly how many there are. Most of the army have probably moved on to next place, unless they started fortificating the village." He says, though there probably was still some ways trough the forrest untill they were at the village. The ranger makes his horse walk exactly the route that Kajsa had secured before him.

Kajsa showed up and asked for Thorn's flask, and he gave it to her willingly. She was glad to see that Thorn had another friend, or at least another person who was close enough to him to consider him a friend. Thorn was a good ranger, and she was willing to look past his drinking problem. Another female showed up, one who looked rather grumpy, but Freya flashed her a friendly smile all the same. Not long after, another male showed up and Freya turned as she heard the strange voice. He seemed to be talking to Kajsa, but she could not make out what he was saying, and instead fumbled about rather awkwardly. Freya could not help the giggle that escaped her. He then stumbled away to get a horse.

When the new male returned, he suddenly had a voice erupt from his chest, followed by a book that swallowed his head. All of his flailing upset his horse, and the stable master was too horrified by the man with a book for a head to be concerned about the animal. Freya quickly calmed it down, listening to the voice that came out of the book. She knew the voice, but could not place it right away. She took a few steps back from the horse, giving the horse some space. She was about to talk when the male suddenly turned and slapped the rear of the horse, which shot off and out the gate. Kajsa and Thorn took off after him, a grin forming on Freya's lips. "I guess we're off!" She laughed, tightening the straps of her bag before she took off at a full sprint after the others.

Now Freya was fast, but she could not keep up with a horse running at full speed. However, she could run for quite along time and by the time she caught up with the other three, the horse was calmed and under control, and Kajsa was blazing a trail for them. Freya slowed herself to a walk and let out a heaved sigh, a wild grin on her face. "I have not run like that for a while. Glad to know I still can." She mused, flicking a few stray hairs out of her face as she walked beside Thorn's horse. "What did I miss?"

tab tab The necessary evil of Damnerung stood before Daos, having taken the body of a young but defiant little girl to do its bididng. She seemed to cooperate with the demons needs, willful in accepting it inside her body, but resistant to its manipulating ways. She sought more shards, perhaps the demon had implanted its will in to hers, and through her sought to recover its former manifestation. She even inquired about his own sealed fragment, or perhaps it was the demon seeping through. For a child she was strong to endure, yet stubborn to try. Disgust turned in to anger, when she refused to give up the shard, and instead put it in to her mouth.

Daos was not fast enough, though he would quickly motion with his staff a large horizontal sweep which would gather the wind all around them and pummel Minu at her right side if she did not dodge it. Even if she was a kid, as a vessel of Damnerung she was still incredibly dangerous, and underestimating her was the likely death of many men. She tethered herself to the ground, revealing that her shadows could ignore gravity, though she herself was still a human subject to the elements and laws of this world.

"Foolish girl!" Daos raised his voice at young Minu, his temper getting the better of him. "That is not a toy or some kind of food, do not try and eat it! Do not hide it from me, either! If you welcome demons in to your body, you will surely die!" His voice boomed loud, even over top the sudden howling of wind force that surrounded him and Minu alike. The gust that dared berrate her was only a warning, exposed when the pressure around Daos intensified tenfold. His robes bellowed wildly in all directions as a typhoon began to form beneath his feet, and another wave surrounded them both as if to enclose them in an arena.

"Do not make me angry, be a good girl and hand over those evil shards you're hiding. If you do not, I will have no choice but to use force! What choice will you make?" Daos beckoned the young girl with an ultimatum, whilst trying to intimidate her with his flux of magical power. He reached out to the young girl still there, hoping she would comply through fear before the demon took over.

Daos had seen Damnerung battle with a mortal host before, and it was truly disturbing how a vessel could be thrown about and physically disregarded, he did not wish to see that again with this girl. The contortion of limbs, the death-like stare, and the brutality, Daos shivered briefly at the though. If he could somehow get her to comply, Daos could seal her fragment and keep them both safe for the time being.

((My apologies. This post is way overdue. I'm rushing to get to work but wanted to give this post before I was gone for the entire day. I'll get this all pretty like when i return :3))

With the stretch of time, the League of Assassins had become desperate, his sister specifically. He didn’t agree with this decision, not this time. The absence of her father was more difficult than she was willing to admit. As affectionate as he was towards the girl, it was bothersome and troubling. What was supposed to be a brief path of revenge had become a neverending road of juvenile whimpering. His family was suffering. The most dangerous organization in all the land had been turned to nothing but a band of children. And he knew he couldn’t criticise. He was starting to lose it as well.

Iori was annoyed to say the least. Things had been gradually getting worse for their organization, starting when Bridget's father went missing. They had been faced with such a challenge before, they didn’t think much of it. By night’s end they planned to have their leader home, the offender’s life burned to ash. But they couldn’t find him. There wasn’t a trace. They had been searching for nearly two years now, his death looming ever closer now that they’ve begun to act out of desperation. The current leader was thinking of breaking their vow of neutrality. To make matters worse, the leader would be his partner tonight.

Being on this mission wasn’t helping his irritation. Though normally he was quick, responsive, and cooperative tonight he showed little interest in paying any heed. His old habits had surfaced, starting with his obsession with profit. Though there was a task at hand, he ignored it, instead taking his fill on the bounties which had been scattered throughout the castle . He’d get to the job once he had satisfied himself, he could care less about the protests of his sister.

It wasn’t until about twenty minutes after their arrival that Iori had finished goofing off, going as far as to return wearing one of the jewel encrusted necklaces he had come across. He smirked before gesturing towards the item. “Steal from the rich and give to the needy am I right?”

Desta stood in the forest with the others, his green eyes scanning the faces. He knew a few of them, but most of them were unknown to him. There was a slight grin on his face as he stood there leaning against a tree, his arms folded. He was walked by, which did not really bother him all that much. However, he was sure it was because they knew he was strange, not like the others. It did not bother him that some of them despised him because he was different, but he did not let that bother him. Instead, he allowed his mind to wonder onto the thoughts of what he could do with that female, or that male. The grin on his face was not just for show, and even though a couple of passersby gave him strange looks, it did not fade.

He shifted a bit and let out a sigh, lifting a hand; more human than Rajan, and ruffled the fur on the top of his head. He then turned his eyes skyward, to look at the stars he could see through the canopy of the trees. The look on his face shifted to one of contented whimsy, and he let out yet another sigh. The clan leaders were all in talking about Calxus and their fate, and here he was, among the largest gathering of his people ever, and all he could do, was stand there and think. It was amusing.

♕ Adonius Valius Leofric ♕
King and protector of the people of Laein

The great throne of Laein was lit aflame by many a persistent pyromancer, four to each side of the room, eight in total, they were also the royal guard to the monarchy and heirs of Laein's god-chosen line. Each pyromancer stood with a single hand outstretched, eight balls of flame dancing still, yet always in wait for the beckon call of their master. Their stalwart stance was a testament to their loyalty to the crown, and their ever held magic proved their discipline. A meeting was being held, and many nobles, advisers, and other know-abouts had gathered at the throne hall table to discuss the event Laein was currently enduring - war. Several hours had already passed by, and the meeting had turned in to something of a riot; advisers who did not agree, expressed that disagreement through verbal abuse. The priests called blasphemy, the generals spoke of ignorance, the merchants merely whined and complained about the economy. Among all the individuals present, only two stood out as calm and collected a midst the chaos: the king himself, who absolutely had to show a face of courage, and his court astronomer and second adviser, master Kleugh Ise. Eventually the pandemonium of battling voices would find a still moment, when the king's loud voice boomed across the hall.

"Silence! By my word, let there be silence! If we cannot organize ourselves, Laein is truly doomed. Calm yourselves at once, and regain your minds!" The good king called out to his many peers, and they would all adhere to his wishes, and heed his words. "We have faced many enemies before, this threat of Calxus is no different from the more savage tribes of Lycarua, who have attacked our lesser villages in the past. These barbarians strike where we are weakest; but we still have strength yet! The guilds of Laein have already congregated, it is only a matter of time before we push back these intruders from our homeland." With great faith, the king spoke, and eventually dismissed everyone in the room - with the exception of his royal guard and personal advisers.

Kleugh, a strangely pale man dedicated to the study of astronomy, was one of the oldest advisers to the throne. He sat near the front of the long gilded table, on the right side. His hands were clasped and he sat with utmost patience, a pompous expression was all he had to express emotionally, as he glared at the other two. The high priest of Laein, and it's general accounted for the other two seats, and though there were more advisers, they were currently attending different matters. The general would also take his leave now, but not before bowing to the king, and admitting his necessity on the battlefield. The priest would continue to preach, as he always did, but he too would eventually take his leave, as he was needed to keep morale in the cities. For some reason or another, Kleugh made sure to stay at the table till the very end, and only in secrecy did he speak.

"Your majesty, if I may?" Kleugh began, and continued after a nod from his king. "With the threat of Calxus ever looming... I do believe it would be in our best interest to perhaps assign more of our royal guard to the princess? Calxus is a cunning country, they would employ whatever tactics they could to demoralize us. Matteo has the Lion Rider company, and lady Sera is ever at your side. However the princess has only her escorts." Kleugh would bow to the queen, who had kept silent at the king's right and shadow this entire time.

"You suggest I divide my personal guard to protect my daughter? She has just arrived... surely such a thing would put her on nerves end." The king questioned Kleugh's advice, while turning a curious gaze to his own protectors, the pyromancers.

"I've heard... rumors of such methods being used on Calxus' enemies in Stalghery, and Mephest." Kleugh spoke clearly, though with a strangely rasp voice, as if long years of smoking had done in his throat. Evidence was all the king needed for action, and with a hand gesture, it would be done.

"If you're sure they would target my daughter... I cannot allow such a thing to happen." Adonius was a loving father, and husband, he would do whatever it takes to protect his loved ones. He would point out which four guards would be appointed to this mission.

"Worry not, my king. Twas only yesterday they laid siege upon us, and my reports indicate that the fighters guild has already begun pushing them out of Eucelid. If any of them divided from the main army, it would still take another day for them to reach the capitol." With this said, the king would be able to rest his worrying mind, if only a little. "Now then... I must attend to my duties. Scrying for the kingdom takes much effort and time, I will have another observatory report to you by nightfall, my liege." Kleugh bowed finally, and dismissed himself from the throne room.

Another sigh escaped the lips of king Adonius, the weight of his worries only showed when outside the presence of his many delegates. The king would turn to his queen, as she placed a hand on his to ease his mind, and here he would contemplate and discuss more personal matters with her. Four pyromancers would be left to tend to the king's defence, and he would be little if unaware of the threat looming over his own head.

If she failed then Laein and just about everywhere else in the world was damned. Mimi had to do it for the pirates- she promised she wouldn't let her friends be threatened by her father just on account of their race. The young princess turned solider noticed the wolf crane its neck towards her- she flinched. The woman clearly had no violent intention towards her, but she knew to be wary around Lycans- they did claim the life of her mother after all.
Mimi kept up the rear, so she only caught threads of conversation. Mimi watched the road ahead, keeping a watchful eye out- a small, blue shape approached. Kasja raised her hand as a sign, and Mimi slowed her horses brisk pace to a trot. ''Slow, slow...'' She whispered comfortingly to her horse. Her concern grew as she saw damage to the elf's ear- was the war zone really that bad? He informed them that the fighters guild had already passed through.
''Damn it... Vaan...'' A cold hand gripped her heart in a vice like grip. She prayed that everything would be okay. She gripped the reigns of her horse tightly. It felt like an arrow in the heart to abandon her comrades. She would have to slip away later while they were making camp.

She couldn't afford to be powerless now. Pulling the reigns of her horse, she trotted slowly towards the edge of the forest, awaiting her comrades.

"Trusting strangers is a good way to get a knife in your back."

It seemed that Estella would not be joining her, after all. More pressing business seemed to be at hand. Nimat had left, going on ahead, with her green cloak billowing over her mangled wings. She couldn't fly well anymore -- oh, no, she was going to have follow either on foot or by horseback. There was no way she was going to follow through the air for that long.

However, it appeared that they were not the only group going to Eucelid. The bryn played a quick ditty on her mandolin as she slowly sidled through the tavern. There were always rogues and vagabonds in taverns, waiting for someone to hire them or hear of some quest. The siege of Eucelid was another chance at fame, honor, and experience. However, she had to find the right person to go with.

She found them at the door, as it were, and her chance almost literally walked out on her.

"I take it you seem to be going to Eucelid. Funny, a quirk of fate, as it were. I am also headed that way," the bryn said with a small smile and lazily hooded, golden eyes. She blinked them slowly, like a cat basking in the sun.

"Two swords are better than one. What say you, we head off that way together? After all, I'm a fragile bryn with poor wings. I could even pay you in kind, if that's what you wish," Nimat offered, sidling alongside the woman. She seemed... a race that Nimat couldn't quite place. Not a draconian, as she was used to. Not a human, either. She seemed young, probably willful, and full of a righteous fire. Nimat guessed she was possibly the kind to fight purely on merit rather than coin. She was a rare breed, indeed. Perhaps she could turn out a song or two of her -- definitely catch a few good battles and tell the tale.

tab tab The world was at war, and death was so common an instrument that few paid heed to it as much as they should. In the savage lands of Gaia, an individual had to be strong, else they did not survive. Although the tribunal had been set in motion for many years, the many tribes and animal kingdoms still battled one another from time to time. If not that, the less civilized monsters waged their own war on anything with a heartbeat that came in to their 'territory.' That was an important concept any beast must understand in Gaia, that all creatures by nature are territorial, and sometimes they felt the need to expand their land claim. Although the prime races, the Bryn, Rajan, Lycans, Mogwe, and Fairies had all established their villages and seemingly worked together in a wild-like harmony, there were some beasts who did not get the memo, and were so wrapped up in their own needs that they completely overlooked the fact of the tribunal. This was where the term beast and monster differed, and it was simple to tell the two apart, a monster to the beast tribes was akin to barbarians to cultured people.

Silash Lai was a Rajan wanderer who traveled the world far and wide, though she did miss her birthplace far away in the Xai Dynasty, the great big world was more than a home to her. She made her living as a monster hunter in the forests of Gaia, primarily working for the mogwe and Rajan in Sagwaya and Eleku. Her most recent bounty was claimed during a trip to the tribunal at Welgaia, the world tree; she would learn of a monster that had been rampaging through the forests, demolishing many villages in its wake. The beast was a Triceratops, a rarely found reptile of the old era. Normally the creature was not violent, but something had set it off, and someone had to put it down. Silash had already engaged the best, for its tracks were not hard to find.

The pursuit of the triceratops was half as difficult as actually taking it down. As the scene panned out, the creature continued to rampage, using its armoured skull and horns to ram everything out of its way. As its stampede continued, Silash could be seen upon its back, firmly holding on to a dagger stabbed in to the reptile's rough hide. She clung to it with every claw on all of her limbs, and though it would try to shake her off, she was too lithe for it to out-maneuver. Eventually the dinosaur would happen across a small village of Rajan, and in its rage it would begin toppling trees, huts, and tents. Many Rajan would flee the scene, while others readied themselves for combat, however none of that was necessary, for the monster would soon be felled by the azure eyed hunter. Silash climbed the creature's hide, creating footholds in its flesh by way of the knife. The triceratops had a strange spiked crown around its head that would make an attack on its neck very difficult, however the Rajan girl found an opportune moment to strike when the creature was reading a headbutt. Her golden dagger would find its mark and enter the reptile's jugular from the side of its neck, and Silash would withdraw her hand fast enough to avoid it being crushed. The beast's rampage would slow down to an eventual halt, as it bled out and died. Silash, triumphant as she was, would withdraw her dagger from the creature and finally jump off its back to meet the many Rajan whose village she had just saved.

"You are all safe now..." Silash would begin to explain, while sheathing her daggers and massaging her own wrists. Though her speech began sincere, her true greed would soon show when she spoke again. "Now where is my prize, for saving your village? Surely I deserve some kind of reward. Could any of you defeat such a foe?" She would inquire this immediately, though at first she would not be answered. Silash had a somewhat uncommon facial build compared to the Rajan of Gaia, since she was originally from Xai. Cats were a suspicious kind, and the only answer she got now was shifty glares. Still - Silash waited in the silence, scanning over the many other Rajan awaiting a proper answer.

Minu glared at the man, and as he swung his staff, shadows rose up out of the ground to her side to block the impact. However, it was stronger than she thought, and the blast broke through her shadowy barricade. She was knocked onto the ground, and the shard was knocked onto her tongue. She sat up, keeping low so she wasn't being blown away. As the man threatened her, she let out a growl. A growl that no human could make. She spoke out, her voice not her own, but of many twisted beings, "E qedd fas rejy uai swy zwolk," She spoke. She gripped her mouth with her hand, not knowing what she was even saying. It seemed putting the shard in her mouth was a bad idea.

The man spoke about how this path would be the death of her. She scowled, and knew she had to prove him wrong. She focused her mind, and with the shard still in her mouth, "I... will not... die," She said slowly, "I... will... kill... them," She said, her mind fogging as she continued to hold herself on the ground and force out the words, "I... will... kill... the demons... I will... kill the... demon himself," She said, standing up slowly. As the wind blew hard against her, the hair covering her eyes blew upwards. Her right eye was a crimson color, and her left was covered with an eyepatch that had runes carved into it. As her sleeves began blowing as well, her arms were revealed. Runes carved into her arms, as well as the many scars from her time being tortured. With her one eye she stared down the man. It was not a gaze of twisted anger or malice. It was a determined gaze, unwavering as the shadows worked their ways up her legs, bracing her for the next attack to come.

Location: Small fishing village on the eastern coast of Laein
                                Company: Daos
                                Occ:

Her black heart, in a puddle of blood, it lies,
Not beating, not throbbing, red the carpet, it dyes,
Yet she lives.
Yet she lives.
Our Red Queen...
Our Red Queen.

Over this kingdom rules she,
With iron fists, with hands now claws,
She has long ventured past insanity's jaws;
Eyes zinc black,
She embraces the night,
Skin, pallid; pale
She spars with the light.
