NIELAS ARAN
ELEMENTALIST'S iiGUILD
HEADiiAEROMANCER
❂xNielas whacked Myron lightly on the head with his staff, “Of course we know each other, it would be improper if a guild leader didn’t at least know who the other guild leaders and their high ranking officers were. Besides, I’m old. Old people know everyone.” As Laein more or less functioned on the guild system it was important to know who ran each guild as no matter who you were, something in your life was governed or dealt with by a guild. Not to mention that not just anyone became a guild leader, usually a leader had some kind of renowned that made them stand out.
❂xEveryone seemed itching to start their quest, to run straight into Calxus controlled territory and fight against impossible odds. Nielas turned to Kajsa, “Your help will be appreciated Executive! Now...” He raised his staff into the sky and shouted, “Onwards! For Laein!” With that he gathered some wind and left down the steps of the academy, gentle gliding down to the bottom. Something seemed off though, when he gathered the air around him he could feel another presence trying to vie for control over it as well. Clearing his mind he closed his eyes and felt the wind around him, to the untrained it sometimes felt like the air could stand still, but in fact the air was always moving. He could feel it though, not a natural air current caused by the movement of objects, but the tug of magic as it took control of the wind. His mind followed the current back to the person who was using wind magic, although this technique of seeing with the wind was a very advance aeromancy trick it didn’t provide a clear image. The spell would only return a generalized shape of what the object or person was. The vision he saw was of a person holding onto a staff of some sort and they were also flying above the ground. He knew exactly who it was.
❂x“Myron, inform Executive Svennson of what the Headmaster intends for us to do on your way to the east gate . I’ve got to deal with something...” He said as he grabbed the air in front of him as if he were playing tug-o-war and began making pulling motions towards him. Nielas had taken hold of the magic trail leading to the other caster and added his own magic onto it to strengthen the connection, as well as reversing the direction towards him. Simply put he was taking control over the wind that was being used to keep the person afloat and using it to drag them out of hiding and bring them towards him. “You think you could follow me huh?! I’ll have you know no one uses aeromancy around me without me finding out!” He shouted as an auburn-haired girl came floating towards the group with her caduceus. As the girl got closer Nielas remembered that she had been supposed to train with him after the two other students this morning, but he had been interrupted by Herenyonnen’s summon. He’d just have to make an unlikely story to make it seem like he hadn’t actually ditched her, “Good job Aerin, excellent tracking skills. Now, instead of formal training today we are instead going to go on a field trip! How fun!” Nielas released his magic and let go of his control over the wind, whether Aerin chose to remain flying was up to her.
❂xAerin was one of the most skilled aeromancer’s that trained under Nielas and her added strength would benefit the Laein Liberation Party greatly. “Are your bags packed? Good, neither are mine but that’s OK, the stables usually carry basic supply packs for adventurers on the go. Let’s move out!” Nielas spun around and headed towards the stables. There he would pay for two horses and two basic supply pouches that contained a few rations and basic tools. Exiting the stables he handed the reins of one of the horses to Aerin, “We are going to Eucelid to liberate it from the grasp of Calxus, it will be dangerous so I won’t force you to come. But if you so choose then you can follow me to the East Gate.” He climbed atop his horse and nudged it onwards. Hopefully he didn’t keep everyone waiting too long.
