Vanessa Vladof 14/21 HP

Vanessa didn't let go until she was sure Relena was done fighting. Even as Jules' fist slammed into her side, she felt the telltale creak of bone threatening to give, but didn't finish until Mantis was nonsensical on the sand.

The blond was still for a moment, barely breathing until she felt something behind handed to her. She took the cuffs from Athene, slapping them across Relena's wrists before hauling Relena to her feet, dragging her upright to the car Athene arrived in. She was perfectly silent as she did it as well.

Isis 1!

Isis shook her head at the triplets. They seemed determined to make Kamiko's life as easy as possible. But something stopped them. While she had an idea what it was, she simply smiled and patting them on the back as she moved past them, striking up a quick bond to ground herself out.

"Come on you guys, try not to fall behind," she said somewhat coldly, pulling her knife from her robes. It slipped from the fabric, unraveling to hit the ground with a loud metallic chime. In the awkward silence that followed, Isis simply looked at her hands.

"I broke a nail," she said, glancing up at the Bloodhound responding to the sound turned the corner.

A wall of opaque murk sprang up before him to block the bullets, but unlike the others, the young boy knew he couldn't really move fast enough to get into cover. So the film of protective magic held still in front of him.

"No thank you," Mary replied with an unperturbed smile. She leaned her head back out of the way with ease, avoiding the spray of bullets that followed.

4 + 5 = 9 - 5 = +4 Mod!

"Can you kindly just get out of our way?" A fist snapped forward, reaching around the gun to slam into the Bloodhound's face. A small pop could be heard in the distance, but one could think it was just the lights going out as Maeve busted them.

"A foot massage? Hun, I'll give you a full body massage if it gets you to finally let loose!"

Lightning? Hardly a problem when you could redirect the conduit to the very metallic fire extinguisher. The bloodhound managed to break it out of the case, right before the lights went out. And that dagger thrown? Well, with the little light offered by said lightning spewing from the spell-caster, it wasn't hard to avoid getting an unexpected lobotomy - although it did manage to slice through her ear when she weaved to avoid it.

The term "bloodhound" didn't seem to fit this person very well. A more accurate representation would be something closer to "bearhound". This guard was huge, a complete and total tank with a crooked nose. Rounding the corner to see these attackers, her upper lip curled in offense. Fists tightened within her weighted gauntlets and she wasted no time in lashing out.

BAMF
( 22 / 22 )

4 + 3 = 7 ( - 5 = 2 DEF )
1 DMG - 2 DEF = 0 HP

Having slipped along the halls with the group, Bamf was present when the bloodhound appeared and started firing off shots. While the weapon was considered deadly, the aim was nearly child's play for this team of Orcinus. Avoiding injury was as simple as getting down low when the shots were fired, and retaliating was a simple as getting back up.

An explosion was hardly the thing they needed right now - it made far too much noise. But there might be some hope in the way the sky thundered above them at the precise moment it went off. Bamf ducked below the explosion and withdrew his rusted pipe. He spun it once in his hand to achieve better grip before popping up nearby the hound and lashing out for the face, and then the side.

Lindsey McNeil

"You girls hold on really tight! I don't want anyone falling off!" The turtle's back was relatively flat, which meant it would be harder to slip off, but Lindsey was always a worrier about all that. Once Araceli was situated as the last person on, Lindsey looked to Sjofen.

"Are we going to go by water?" They were close to the shore and this was a turtle.

Kamiko Hamasaki

"It's alright," She hurriedly soothed the Triplets who were making such sulky faces. "I'm sure someone will! I mean - Ah, thank you Siren-san." Kamiko had to be careful with the energy trade between them because her power had the ability to, on occasion, knock people on their a**. The flush of power that was carefully controlled between them was like being hit with a strong wind. Kamiko, the tiny powerhouse, apparently had earned her name. "See?"

It seemed like, almost as soon as they stepped inside they were greeted with a brute. Kamiko's eyes noticeably widened with concern at the sight of such a huge, strong looking person. A strong person who was really fast! But it appeared that her height and build might have thrown off the bloodhound a little because, in the bear's rapid fighting spree, Kamiko was missed almost entirely.

They were going to need back-up and there was never going to be a better opportunity to get it.

*ROLL*
3 + ... Nah, not that one.
2 + ... Nope, not this one either.
9 + 4 = 13 ( - 5 = + 8 Mod )

She might have taken her entire combat turn to do it, but when Kamiko managed to get the strong connection to Jasmine's realm that she wanted, she REALLY got what she wanted! The atmosphere in the hallway seemed to ripple and bend with pressure before a large portal opened up behind them. Kamiko planted her feet firmly against the strength of it, until finally the magnificent mane of a massive white lion emerged.

At this time he was the size of a regular lion, but the muscles rippling beneath his white fur revealed that he was compact and powerful. Rico-kun let out a quiet, clicking growl as he joined the group, mindful not to raise his voice.

"It's been a long time, Rico-kun! Can you help us, please?"

"I'll always help you."

Nerine
( 24 / 24 )

9 + 5 = 14 ( - 5 = 9 DEF )

Bloodhounds would never cease to be incredibly stupid, in her opinion. If she were ever attacked in a hallway like this on her own turf, with around ten opponents out to kill her boss, she would have taken a cheap shot and ran. But it was the trigger in the bloodhound's brain that made them stick around and fight Orcinus, the order to, "arrest on sight." This poor dumb broad couldn't have run if she wanted to. Nerine caught the blades aimed for her and flicked them aside.

You put down mad dogs when they bit the neighbor kids.

Rage sparked within her, and following in the line of Bamf's attack, Nerine swept up to their opponent and threw all her power into her bat for another home run.

Brooke Demir :: ( 19 / 20 )

"I don't know what you're talking about, Siren lady." Brooke grinned broadly, as if she hadn't been talking about being here before, privately, with Faustus. So far, how and exactly what Brooke knew about the headquarters was entirely unexplained. But Siren was just assuming things, which is why Brooke slipped into lead without a fuss. And Tutku, her faithful companion, seemed to hover at Faustus' hip.

"This little map that the hacker gave us says that we're looking for a door on this - Oh, well, s**t. You are a BIG girl, aren't you?"

4 + 2 = 6 ( 1 DEF )
2 DMG - 1 DEF = -1 HP

"Oof!" She got hit in the chest pretty solid, even with her arms drawn up to defend. "Well damn, if that didn't make my heart stop for a second!" Brooke swore while she caught her breath. "Now though, I think it's time you stopped for good."

[ Rescue's BH ]
10 + 2 = 12 ( - 5 = 7 DMG )

Brooke caught up to their attacker, clearly seething that the bloodhound had attacked Faustus. Her fist, aimed for the throat, was intended to land without mercy.

Tutku :: ( 13 / 13 ) :: + 8

3 + 8 = 11 ( - 5 = 6 DEF )
5 DMG - 6 DEF = 0 HP

The first attack on Faustus never made it through, since the big cat immediately caught the bloodhound's shirt sleeve in her powerful jaws and pull it away. However, there was still some concern for the second swing the riled hound took.

Karelineo Kuscherii 8/20

"Three!" Karelineo was happy that for now, the mission was done. The Bloodhound looked to Mary out of curiosity before smirking and shaking her head.

"You are a piece of work, you know that?" She told the other woman with a grin. She slid over patting the spot beside her. "Take a load off, will you Aldegard?"

Relena Saint Mantis 0/20

Bond severed, arm growing numb. When Vanessa finally locked her hands together -- one which was useless now anyways -- there was a sort of finality to this. And irony.

This was an outcome she avoided for twenty years just to steer herself right back into it.

Vanessa hauling her to her feet elicited pain from what felt like every pore. She bit back another yell, the sound refused to be completely subdued and she let out a hiss, breathing heavily and controlled, feeling black return to her vision. Relena let violet eyes drop down, to see that form she knew so well, mapped so thoroughly that it could be her own.

At first she was cooperative. There was no use fighting anymore, she couldn't do it. Her body wouldn't respond. But even with Vanessa escorting her, legs fell under themselves, muscles refused to respond, consciousness faded.

With ebbing adrenaline came the ebbing of whatever strength still held in her broken body. The fight was gone from her, and with Athene on the scene and her being arrested, Relena's will to hold on faded. She had held on for Jules, but now, she just couldn't do it.

For the last few steps Vanessa would of had to pick Relena up to place her in the vehicle.

~+~Chairwoman Athene~+~

"Julianne Marie Bordeaux...." Athene stood over the Beserker, gazing down at her amused. "What can I say, other than not being pleased. You should of turned her in like a good little thing." Athene shook her head.

"Never the matter. That's not what makes me really angry. See, I know a thing or two about having a strong tool. What I really want to understand is how the hell you and Mantis lasted. I've always known she had some rather," Athene chuckled, "******** up masochistic tenancies, but this one certainly takes the cake. Staying with you. I thought I taught her better."

Athene shook her head. "I thought we made you better. Clearly we messed up somewhere." Athene turned to the vehicle. "And quite the pity, too Allen. Mantis was quite the tool. She's broken down and useless now. Congratulations. I hope you're happy, because she'll be of no use to anyone when everything's through and done."

Athene smiled. "As for you, Miss Allen? We're reprogramming you, because something clearly got messed up the first time. Trust me, it won't be happening again." She folded her hands behind her back and shaked her head before patting Jules' shoulder.

"I'm debating whether I should be kind and have them make you forget it all this time? Clearly having all this," she gestured to the bloodstains in the sand, the marks of the fight, "is going to be no good for you. You know what, pretend this didn't happen. You won't be remembering it."

With that, Athene began moving to her vehicle.

"Good Day Miss Allen. Will be fine to see you after we've made those adjustments." She called back before ducking into the car and ushering Marianne and Vanessa in as well. Slipping out something from her robes, she pulled out the small device and handed it to Luann.

"Our next location. Quickly. I'd rather not linger while our rebels make a mess of my city."

Enduring Hunter

Tenju

The whole night had been a blur of events, one leading to the next that eventually landed her on the rescue team. Of course she had nothing against Athene at that moment since she had done no harm to her family as of yet. Plus she didn't want to do a whole lot of head bashing or rib cracking against someone who could probably get her knocked out cold in three seconds flat. And now here she was behind the entire group on Nival's back, bringing up the rear until suddenly there was a stop and then a confusing scramble. Peering over Nival's shoulder, she found that they had encountered an enemy.

Scratch that.

A bloodhound.

Wait, scratch that.

A bearhound!

She had to be huge in comparison to everyone else - even Nival who stood at a relatively decent height if not taller than the average man looked like beef jerky to this woman. And what was Tenju supposed to do against a beast of a woman like her?

Well, just about anything and everything that she could.

4 + 2 = 6 [1 Damage!]

Tenju released her death grip on Nival's neck (he was running so fast she almost flew off of his back earlier) and clasped her hands together. Sparks flew and it sailed through the air, though by the time they would reach the bearhound their strength would weaken considerably. Electricity never traveled through air well, but it would provide distraction for Nival.

And hopefully it would be enough for that. Maybe some damage to the bearhound's defense.

Nival

The rain outside soured his mood even more. Instead of his cloak, he wore a heavy, black raincoat with a relatively fitted hood over his head. Inside his pocket he fingered the electronic device nervously, wanting to just get a hold of his brothers to let them know he was okay. But right now they had a mission to focus on and that was retrieving two precious Temperance students arrested by the b***h Athene's dogs. And now they were stopped in the middle of the hallway by some unknown force at that moment.

He timed the attacks carefully. The rescue team had managed to get this far but this damn bloodhound was blocking their way. He wanted to chase after Athene with the rest and hopefully get his fair share of bashing on the woman, but there was Tenju. Nival knew that even without him she could get along fine but it was easier for the two to travel together. Plus, there were two more students at stake of becoming a bloodhound. Becoming like them. And that wasn't something he would let pass his defenses if he could. And so now he was waiting for the perfect moment to strike. His eyes paid careful attention to the retaliation of the beastly woman, trained on each of the other members. He prayed she hadn't spotted him just yet as he tried to make himself as inconspicuous as possible. Of course it seemed like a cowardly way to fight, but then again there were so many of them against a woman of her size. Every bit count.

10 + 3 = 13 - 5 = [8 damage!]

Suddenly he spotted sparks in the air and it crackled next to his ear. Undoubtedly Tenju had done that even though it was weak. But it was enough to provide a distraction for him and slipping the girl off his shoulders, he weaved his way around the other Orcinus members and launched a direct assault on the bearhound, aiming for her stomach. No matter how strong and tough a person was, the soft area of skin where the diaphragm was would always be a weak spot. After all, you needed it to breath. And for safety precaution if the woman was wearing a suit of armor underneath those clothes, Nival had his own set of reinforced gauntlets - courtesy of his own handiwork.
Jules Allen 14/20

Jules flinched just a tiny bit when her full name was uttered. It was never a good thing when your full name was said

Like a good little thing? Well, that certainly riled her up a bit. She took pleasure in the fact that that displeased the chairwoman. Anything that does is something good in Jules’ book. Plus if she had been the one doing the displeasing.

She wants to know? She really wants to know how the two of them lasted. Well, it wasn’t just sweet words and their awesome bedroom activities aren’t the main reason either. Hmph! Well, she’s not going to say anything how they made this whole thing work.

The berserker scoffed internally. They were already messed up even before they got their hands on her. Reprogramming… Damn it. She had to escape before then. She already hated it the first time and to be subjected to it a second time for the purpose removing her memories would really suck. She had to be calm about this. Jules remained absolutely still, just listening as the chairwoman’s car drove away and it was just her and the ocean.

Jules waited for a few minutes more and then attempted to sit up. It took her a few tries and finally success. It was short lived though as the pick-up team from the labs had arrived. The descended on Jules, taking hold of her arms and legs until they could strap her on a stretcher. “Keep her securely strapped!” She heard someone say and the straps holding her down tightened considerably. She couldn’t even move her head if she wanted to. No matter, once she gets her wind back these straps would be nothing. Marianne’s healing had been more successful than the pink woman realized.

Mary Adelgard 13/20

“Of course I’m a piece of work. I am an Ultra Mage.” Marianne replied. And she knew that’s not what the bloodhound was referring to. “In a moment.” She nodded to Karel’s offer. She had waited until Vanessa had deposited the Lady Mantis inside and only after that did she take up Karel’s offer. She can’t take the load she was carrying off though. She was worried about Julianne and what the chairwoman had planned for her.

Now, the three of them would be coming with the chairwoman wherever her next destination was. Marianne still had her loyal u-mage mask on and she probably won’t be removing it soon. Appearances needed to be kept. She told herself.

2 = 5 Dmg received!

Oh s**t! Was the thought that echoed in Lorant and Wendel’s minds. They had just pulled Vizel from ringing that alarm and then whammo!! Bloodhound at twelve o’clock!! Wendel was able to duck. Vizel had to be pushed down by Lorant. And Lorant, well, he did not have the time to evade. He was barely able to raise his arms up to protect his body but he still felt the blow. It knocked the wind right out of him. Wendel and Vizel definitely felt it too. The latter was even rubbing his arms at the exact same spot that the bloodhound’s meaty fist met with Lorant’s arms. That hurt!!

10-5 = 5 Dmg!
7-5 = 2 Dmg!

While Lorant remained to in the direct sight of the huge bloodhound, Wendel and Vizel round the large woman. They didn’t have armament with them so the knives they had taken would do quite nicely. They had waited quite a bit, searching for an opening and as soon as it arrived both boys jumped on the bloodhound’s back! One! Two! And stuck their knives in her shoulder. Once that had been accomplished, they all but scrambled away. Gah! They did not want to hit by her!!

"Watch you head, Relena," Vanessa said, putting her in the car. It didn't mean much since the woman was non responsive and had all but gone ragdoll on her. She wasn't too upset about her hurting as she pulled her up - Vanessa felt it was payback for her elbow into Altair's stab wound a few days prior- and moved in to the other side of the car after Athene motioned for her.

With a calming sigh, Vanessa gingerly touched the expanding bruise from Jules single punch.

"Eh. Oh well, Karel took Allen down, so there's no worries there," she said, glancing at Marianne with a pained wince. If not trusting the Mage was enough, it made no sense why she was healing Allen before she was contained.

Rowe was driving, but unless she had a gun or took the car off a cliff if s**t went south in the back, Vanessa was sitting only inches away from someone she had no amount of trust for.

And Athene.

And Relena.

"You can say that," the blond woman said with a smile, patting the turtle on the head. "Let's go, Tide. That way!"

The turtle's body shook for a moment as he withdrew into his shell. For a moment he didn't move, but flippers then protruded from his shell and his head emerged with what looked like aviator goggles over his eyes. The wind swirling underneath him, he pushed off from the ground, hovering a bit as it started to slowly to skitter along the ground to get around the building.

"Listen to the Doctor, girls," Sjofen said, pushing her glasses up on her nose as she gripped the rim of the shell with one hand. The somewhat uneasy ride slowed to stop as the turtle faced the ocean, but rose higher in the air instead of touching down on it.

"Council Headquarters, here we come!"

Suddenly, the turtle launched forward like out of a cannon.

Isis 1!

2 + 4 = 6! No DMG!
2 + 4 = 6! 1 Save! 2HP Loss!

Snapping the fabric up, she caught it both hands in time to wrap around the bearhound's fist as it came in, guiding harmlessly aside. "Wrist control," she said, holding the bearhound at bay for all of split second until the woman...er, thing, decided to pull it's arm back, bringing Isis along for a quick ride that sent her headfirst into the wall beside her.

5 + 4 = 9 - 5 = 4 DMG!

Rolling to her feet behind the hound, Isis spun her modified rope dart in a tight arc to build up momentum before slinging it out for the woman's calf. The triplets had her back -literally- , so Isis would work on stopping her from trampling anyone.

Ravager

9 + 4 = 13 - 5 = 8 DMG!

Dropping his shield, Ravager raised his cane at the bloodhound while Nerine and BAMF had her occupied. The tip of the cane glowed for a second, then fizzled out with the acrid smell of burnt rubber.

Below the Bloodhound's the floor would glow red before starting to melt and grow soft as ropes of fires lashed up around her legs. Ravager didn't want to risk burning Mary or Nerine or any other in close proximity to the Bloodhound, so he kept his distance.

Luna

1 = Reinforcements!

As she pulled back her whip for a third strike, Luna felt it get caught on something. Looking back, she saw a second Bloodhound from the other corner behind them, standing on it.

"Well bollocks," the well-dressed rebel muttered.

7 + 4 = 11 - 5 = 6 DMG!

The naga simply smiled wickedly, fangs visible it inhaled deeply. With a lurch forward, a wave of caustic acid launched from her mouth over the Bloodhound.

"Whoa!" Krasimira burst into another fit of laughter as they soared into the air. They were close, so incredibly close, to Orcinus and the Council. After the past few weeks of confusion, few years of swallowing pleasant lies, after days of pondering the fate of her classmates, they would finally gain an opportunity to get justice. Wherever they were, she would help bring them down.

Without one word or breath, Luann flipped over the data-pad and skimmed its listed details. Her eyes shifted lazily to the new passengers in the rear, then to Athene. All of this nonsense was boring and added tension to her withering sanity. The unconscious body of a familiar woman pricked her curiosity, but Luann did not remark. Over the roar of her own thoughts, and under order to stay visibly intact, she had to try her damnedest not to lose it. She felt a distressing pressure, something akin to sharp teeth, travel down the back of her neck. The bloodhound flinched only slightly from the pain.

"As you wish, Madam Chairwoman." She smiled cheerily, and threw the shift into drive. The car jerked quickly, spraying gritty sand behind the tough tires as it sped forward. The sooner the rebels were 'handled' the faster another conditioning might be applied to rewrite the damage done to her.

Maeve lowered into a crouch, knees spaced apart. Traveling downward from the neck, her aim drifted to the middle of the bloodhound's chest. Finally set, she fired.

Offensive

This bloodhound really had a good run, considering the fact that she was up against so many people. But alas, she was outnumbered and, in this darkness, unable to properly defend herself. Effectively sprayed with acid that burned, and then shot in the chest among other things, her lifeless body fell to the floor as thunder roared up above.

Hunters may now carry on.

Sylvia Syl Orr

3 + 3 = 6

1 = Bloodhound attack

Sylvia stared blankly at the explosive in her hand, which the pin had just fallen off of it's own accord. "What the ********." She swore loudly, and she threw it as hard and fast as she could. They'd just finished with one Hound, the last thing

Sylvia attempted to lay a trap for the Bloodhound
Isreal Wm

1 + 4 = 5

9 + 4 = 13 - 5 = 8, no damage taken

Isreal dodged the bullet so easily that it was laughable. All she did was swing her shoulder to the side, and the pathetic shot missed her entirely. The girl frowned as the Bloodhound was taken down, her eyes moving from the body on the ground to the gun that had killed her, and then finally she was looking at Maeve, who was entirely unbothered. Isreal wasn't sure how to react, but the numbness spreading from her chest into her fingertips was probably a good indication of shock. She tried to shake it out of herself but the body was within her line of sight, the blood was creating a small pool and Isreal suddenly, stupidly, worried that she might step in it.

Faustus
Hp: 12/13
5 + 2 = 7 - 5 = 2 saved, 1 Dmg

Faustus wasn't entirely prepared for Tutku to take care of the attack on him, so when the second swing came he was a little preoccupied with being caught off-guard. "s**t." He grunted, throwing a shield up at the last minute and catching a bit of damage. The blow wasn't hard but his face was going to bruise later.

7 + 2 = 9 - 5 = 4 dmg

3 + 2 = 5 - 5 = 0 dmg

7 + 2 = 9 - 5 = 4 dmg

With a scowl, Faustus called on the energy he hadn't fully accessed in a long time. It was like pulling a ball of light out of himself; it wasn't something that could be described. But the spell was a success and Faustus sent three streaks of lightning at the Bloodhound, the energy crackling the air around him.

Researcher

They took her, moving on the matter rather quickly. This wasn't something one lingered on. When in the transport vehicle, Jules would of found herself all alone with just one of the scientist. They monitored Jules with a look of pity on their face.

"Jules Allen. The Jules Allen." The researcher sighed and smiled before shaking her head. "There are so few of you Beserker types and variants. To some of the juniors, you're practically a legend." The researcher pulled out a small black box, it seemed battered, but when they played with it, it beeped, indicating it was still operational.

"Then again, even legends can fall. I'm surprised to even think of Lady Mantis being able to kill in cold blood, never mind actually doing it." The researcher looked around this area of the truck and said in a low voice. "I'm in solidarity with the Lady, well, sort of -- my feelings of her most recent actions are kind of mixed -- and from my understanding, you dropped this?" They turned it on and began playing with it, punching in several pass codes before they got lucky.

"Not like her at all. She knows how to better encrypt from what I heard. Great hackers are good at what they do because they know how to build as well as break. Then again, she must of done it deliberately to make it accessible." The researcher began flicking through it before frowning. "Well, unprotected information is public information in my book." They murmured before turning it off soon after.

"Nothing that wouldn't be public anyways Miss Allen, take no offense. A note to you is about as private as it gets. The rest? Just some documentation. Handy ones. Apparently, Miss Allen, you're a mother now. Congrats. Not that I'm trying to infer that you, err," the Researcher flushed, "weren't before, but it's, err, official...now? Or well, legally documented, I should say? Lady Mantis must of pushed to get the adoption papers through." They flicked the device back on and sighed, looking at Jules a bit sadly.

"There's a document proving she was of sound mind to make decisions. Most likely thinking ahead of any stupid court issues family members could try to bring up to try and render some of the documents useless." The researcher seemed amused. "Lady Mantis updated her Will and according to the dates on these documents of when her lawyer signed it, she did this less than a week ago. Same with her Living Will. They're all on this."

They began slowing down and the researcher shook their head.

"Well, looks like we're here. Let's get you ready, shall we? Where can I put this so you don't lose it again?"

Karelineo Kuscherii 8/20

They were on the move, and Karelineo could instantly feel bored at the lack of anything to do. She stared at the limp form beside her curiously, poking it as if it were dead.

"You, Aldegard, are many things other than just a piece of work, if you ask me. I mean, you healed Allen before me? What the hell was that about?" she questioned, then began to tug awkwardly at limp limbs.

"And Vanessa, how could she watch anything? The woman's been beaten of consciousness. How the hell she managed to keep herself awake after the concussion you must of given her? I don't know. Maybe she's as stubborn as she is ******** arrogant." This was amusing. She was pulling on that injured, dislocated arm and barely got a response.

"Wow, we got her good. Can this be written down in a history book or something?"

Relena Saint Mantis 0/20

~+~Chairwoman Athene~+~

Arms crossed just underneath her bust. Athene settled in beside Luann looking about with ease and checking the back of their vehicle.

"She can't watch her head, she's out cold." Athene pointed out mater of factly. She seemed not to be empathic about the situation, though she did make one remark about it, "For your sake Vanessa, I don't care if she can't remember jack all about her life, but she needs to remember about Orcinus." Athene murmured. "I have no dead set concrete proof, but I trust my instinct. She's a member."

She looked at Vanessa through the mirror.

"Only a handful of people knew about Bastet. Well, that was so until Orcinus found out about Bastet, but they didn't know whom she was. They never managed to access those files." Athene admitted. "Mantis didn't know. We made sure of that, made sure she knew nothing about that particular Bloodhound's existence whatsoever. We completely kept Bastet out of her range of jurisdiction, and made sure that round of NODA got by without arousing her suspicion or meeting any resistance." In other words they had two lists, one of which all members saw, and one which the problematic members weren't privy to. "Which would of happened, had she been aware." It was what they were trying to do with the most recent round, but Relena found out about Ray-Lynn and several others that were on there.

"Knowing Mantis, she cross referenced. Found out about Bastet through Orcinus, then hacked several of our records to figure out who she was. I'm not wholly surprised she chose them and then replicate their style. Viciousness seems to be a family affair." Athene smiled at that.

"And Karel? Can you at least wait until we get there before pulling her arm off? I'd like to keep track of the dismembered pieces and tease her with them when we get her awake."

2+4 =6! 1 damage saved! 5 damage taken!

That burned! There was no other way to describe it. The stupid thing broke through her barrier and she felt the heat lick at some of her hair and skin. She clenched her jaw together tight against the pain and then breathed slowly but easily. When it was over she sighed.

9+4 = 13! 8 damage recovered!

Not wanting to be a drag in a battle, she tended to the injury immediately and sighed when the intense pain faded to just a dull ache.

"Well, good riddance to the rubbish is what I say." She grumbled, but paused just a minute to say a quiet prayer of passing for the Blood Hound.

It wasn't her fault she became this.

5+3 = 8! +3 for Hunters!

♬♒Siren♒♬

Siren saw the Bloodhound coming and had to smile.

10+3 = 13! 8 damage saved!

They came at her, fists swinging. She stood in the way to avoid Kamiko from getting hit, and then easily managed to reroute the attack with a sly, but quick reach for the space between her elbow and wrist, easily guiding both attacks to miss. When the Bloodhound looked for an opportunity elsewhere, Siren began charging.

"Are you alright Miss Hamasaki?" She asked the young woman. She crossed her arms, tucking hands between her shoulder and side as a faint glow surrounded her. She smirked at this before moving her hands and holding them in front of her.

7+4 = 11! 6 damage!
5+4 = 9! 4 damage!

Small orbs of light appeared in front of the Bearhound* and Siren shifted so that only two fingers on each hand stayed extended. Then she began moving her hands around rapidly. Soon the orbs followed, attacking the Bloodhound over and over again.

"I pray for you to have a good sending, poor soul."

♓ Iwalani ♓ 20/21

1=fail

That hurried shot got lucky. Iwalani felt the gash on her cheek first before it occurred to her that it really did happen. She scowled at this, and shrugged it off.

"Let's just freaking go."

9+3 = 12! +7 Hunters

♃ Lee ♃

"Well, aren't you just a sight for sore eyes." Lee commented sarcastically. She gripped her blade tightly, biting down on her lip before charging in. It might be useless, but was worth trying.

4+2 = 6! 1 damage!
6+2 = 8! 3 damage!
3+2 = 5! 1 damage!

She might have been hitting a wall made of the strongest metal and two feet thick, but she tried it anyways, swinging low with her blade before carrying it up and then finishing with a quick punch before jumping back out of reach.

Jules Allen 14/20

Jules was prepared to make the trip in silence, thinking that none of these scientists would be one for small talk but color her surprised when the one assigned to ride with her actually began talking. To show that she was actually listening, she had opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling of the truck. She was a little bit more surprised when she can actually move her head. Oh, so that particular strapped had been removed. Nice. That’s a start, a small one but it’ll do for now.

A legend huh? “We’re so few because the conditioning was harsh to the most extreme degrees…” The berserker rasped out. Only the ones with the strongest of wills, which the doctors exploited until from out of that will another person was born, survives the later stages. She’s lucky she was that stubborn.

She had been ready to jump in her lover’s defense, to say that what she had done – although a considerable sin to the society – had to be done until the researcher revealed whom she sided with. She let her chains drop. Okay, perhaps she could trust this one. She had nothing else to lose. “Dropped?” There was one thing that Jules could have dropped. The very thing that the older woman had said to keep with her at all times and there it was on the researcher’s hand.

Jules listened as the researcher talked. She was never really much of a talker and besides, the woman answered her questions with her having to ask. “None taken.” Hmm… So the little black box contained a few things. A note to her, adoption papers, and the updated wills… Wait. She’s a mother? It’s official? The last she heard about those documents was during Jel-Leo’s trial. Relena had mentioned it but Jules had failed to keep up with what’s happening with it. The documents were just confirmation though of what Jules already knows. It only added to her motivation.

Hmph! That was so Rel. She certainly took steps that no one in her family, at least those that she didn’t want to interfere, will able to have the documents null and void. Always a few steps ahead of everyone…

“Vest. Inner pocket. On the right side. Make sure to button it close too.” That way, she can be sure that it will always be with her. There’s still that note that she wants to read. When she finds the chance to…

Feeling the vehicle stop completely, Jules schooled her expression and closed her eyes. Better to play possum for now, conserve whatever strength she recovered and then act once she was sure Ray was within reach. She was sure she wasn’t the only one intending to rescue the captured sparks.

Mary Adelgard 13/20

Well, this was an uncomfortable setup. Vanessa was right there. Karel was directly beside her. Luann was driving and the chairwoman was, well, directing. Gah!! Marianne was heavily tempted to open the door and jump. She wanted to be anywhere else than her. She could just tell, based on Vanessa’s posture, that she didn’t want to be here either but neither of them had any choice. Suck it up. The mage told herself.

“She is still my sister Kuscherii. Enemy or no, I am not going to surrender her to the death goddesses so easily.” Besides, Jules was her only family left. At least the one that Marianne considers. Their parents can just keep the hell out of their lives. They didn’t need them. Not the slightest bit.

Marianne was half tempted to swat the bloodhound’s hand as she pulled on the unconscious woman’s arm. She was down already, no need to add more salt to the wound. The chairwoman has plans for the woman already.

As for Bastet, well, Marianne really didn’t care much about that one. She had no beef with that particular operative and if she was with Orcinus now, well, good for them. She cheers on silently.

:: Lorant :: Wendel :: Vizel :: 12/17

3 = No Dmg taken!

Wendel and Vizel had been successful in avoiding getting hit by the bloodhound. That was, perhaps, one of the scariest things they had ever done! With that out of the way, and their arms were rather sore already from that initial blow, the triplets retreated. Well, it was more like they ran away like the bat from hell was after them and then hid behind Kamiko and her magnificent lion. They weren’t front line fighters! They weren’t used to this kind of thrashing!

Researcher

A small smile pulled at full lips.

"It takes some kind of a person to put up with all that." They agreed. "I always did find the human psyche to be interesting, and researching it equally so. I oddly do have ethics though you might not personally agree with my views. So do many. Us researchers weren't accidentally picked you know." They revealed as they turned to some of the equipment in the small space.

"Most of us are great compartmentalists. Others among us may have some mild Antisocial personality disorder. All of us are not over killing to make our craft better, but some are, understandably, more hesitant than others." A chilling smile tainted their lips. "I, however, do believe subjects at the very least should be mostly willing. Ninety-five percent or more. The rest is all just subjective anyways." The researcher shook it off.

"I guess this is why you can say I agree with Lady Mantis? That, and I have a horrible issue of keeping old, outdated and useless things, people included. The old members of the Council? They've outlived usefulness. We need to keep some of the elders for reference, but an insurgence of new blood won't certainly hurt."

Stashing the small unit in the appropriate pocket for the silver haired woman, the Researcher looked at Jules one more time and chuckled when several colleges called for her, she moved out of the way and let them take Jules. She waved at them and looked at the building before finally following them in.

Jules Allen 14/20

Well, that was an interesting encounter she would admit that much. She doubted there would be a repeat but at least she got to hear, more like a chance glimpse, really as to what really goes on in a researcher’s mind. That and she had never really met one that was talkative, compared to Jules everyone else was talkative, as that one. Jules had tried to keep that researcher in her sights for a while longer, she was like a red apple in a cart of green ones, she was a bit disappointed that the meeting was short. Ah well, like she had thought earlier, she doubted there would be a repeat. Who knows what will happen to these people once the council is taken down.

As she was being transported, Jules tried very hard not to listen to the hushed whispers but she really couldn’t help it. Being back in this building made her hyper alert. Her ears were, unfortunately, tuned to the low voices and she definitely felt that she was being stared at. It really was uncommon to see a berserker. Bear with it. Bear with it. She told herself.

Jules felt the gurney she was on stop and then turn. They traveled deeper into the building and then she heard that unmistakable ‘Ping!’ of the elevator. Great. She’s being taken directly into the labs. That’s fine though. She’s letting them take her where she wanted to go, which was very strange in itself. Jules wanting to go to the labs. This one was for the memoirs. Okay, the berserker decided to focus on something else because the moment they were off the elevator she was that much closer to the labs. Counting the footsteps seemed like a good distraction so that’s what she did. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7… Oh goddesses… 15,16,17,18,19,20 … This was absolute torture! 28,29,30,31,32… She’s only making herself more anxious so when they stopped again Jules took a risk and opened her eyes. What greeted her was the bright lights of a very, very, painfully, familiar chamber. Oh s**t…!

And then they began hooking her up…

Maeve

Maeve leaned to her feet as the bloodhound crumbled to the ground. Considering the immediate greeting, she knew they had tripped security defenses after entering the front entrance. Luckily for Orcinus, Bloodhounds weren't difficult depending on how smart they originally were. Silence resumed in place of gunfire while she swept past Mary Ad, heels clapping dully in the moderate darkness. She paused to collect the discarded sub-machine pistol before retreating to check on her comrades nearby. Maeve's active night-vision made it considerably easy to see, so taking account of their remaining numbers was not hard. No casualties this round.

"All right, you can all stop milking your wounds now. Big and Bad is gone." She turned the pistol over in the shadows and slid back into place beside Isreal. Maeve graced her with a subtle look, but said nothing directly. "It won't be long before we get another one. Let's hurry up."
