Ziora Xanalos
Crown Princess of Jalxeer
Location: the masquerade ball
With: Star and the pirate
Thoughts/feelings: Annoyed but playful

User Image

“ Now that would be telling wouldn’t it “ Ziora tormented Star with a twinkle in her eye, she could easily see how unnerved her brother was by that, the way he gulped down his drink to the sudden spluttering of words. If they were anywhere else but here oh, she’d be having a field day with this one. “ Is it now?” She asked with the slightest twitching of her lips before a voice caught her by surprise. Twisting on her heels Ziora’s lips split wide open into the most mischievous grin she had as she eyed the pirate “Now that depends “ she teased as her hands fell to her hips “ If you be a pup with big ears and a tail fess up now or forever hold your peace”

Knocking back a drink of her own Ziora’s tail twitched, sure fire sign that she was still stressed beneath her playful exterior. She did not want to be here nor did she want to be in this excuse of a dress “ My my , now that was a story and a half though one could say the man doth protest too much “ Bowing back in return Ziora’s face hardened slightly at the fact that the guards had delayed his entry “ And just how did you? “ She asked curiously before giving him a little shake of her head, she wasn’t really expecting an answer, not yet though there was something about his words that forced her eyes to darken “ Guarded, oh yes…. It half makes me wonder if it’s to keep people out or to keep us in” She did not like that thought, if forced her to want to escape, to prove them wrong , to show them that she could not be contained if she did not will it. But too …

Ahhh…

" Unless you're planning to act out the part of the pirate king and hoist the princess up on out of the castle "

Flashing the two a most defiant look Ziora kicked off her shoes.

“ Who’s up for a dance?”

Ilithyia Silverion
The second princess of Veshalon
Location: The Masquerade Ball
With:the Duke and his 'Miss Knight'

Oh…. Blushing all the more Ilithyia believed him, believed his every word so as he explained that he had no idea what her words could have implied she flailed, her eyes wide as she bit down upon her lip. This, this was why she was not really supposed to go to public functions. Ever since she’d been returned she, she kept messing up. Unable to look up at him Ilithyia’s cheeks glowed with embarrassment as she struggled to find the words to answer him, how could she even begin to explain what , oh , um… Iiiiiiieeeeeeeee……. Gods help me,p-p-please? Letting out that tiny plea Ilithyia blinked as her hands found themselves holding a flower that had not been there previously “ Oh … “ She whispered as her throat began to loosen “ B-but I w-would n-n-never want s-someone to st-stay if they don’t want to , it wouldn’t. It just wouldn’t be polite either. I-it’s a silly fear, they s-say I came back all wrong “

Slapping her hand over her lips she looked up at him pleadingly as she silently implored him to forget her words. She was, she was never supposed to mention that or even hint of the fact she was aware of it. Oh ..Oh …. The subject had returned to miss knight. Smiling hesitantly Ilithyia nodded “ It must be nice…. To be safe like that and to have so much freedom, oh … Yes , when you know there’s nothing to fear even captivity can be ever so pleasant“ she whispered as her eyes softened, her thoughts clearly elsewhere. “ But ahh…… “ Jumping suddenly , her hands flailing out before her Ilithyia couldn’t help but bite her lip “ It really is nice “ she whispered wistfully “ To know that you are always protected “ She,she was getting teary eyed! Struggling to hold back her emotions the princess’s eyes were a little too bright as she slipped her hand trustingly into his “ I’m in your hands ” Curtsying before him, even as she kept her hand in his she couldn’t help but smile.

Caim Vel Lemorte
General of Firsha
Head of the Lemorte
Where: Outside this meeting
Who: No one of importance

Meanwhile, as the ball continued, a figure began to stride up to the entrance to it, flanked on either side by four armored me. A figure with silvery hair and deep blue eyes, the lower portions of his face concealed by a thick sheet of cloth and metal. Each footstep this man made kicked up a small plume of dust, wrenching it from the cracks of the street with each audible thump of his feet. And as he neared the guards began to shake, they recognized the man, because they were the Ram Knights of Ymiria, they were expected to recognize someone they may have to fight. And it was because they knew who was walking forward now that they were visibly shaken.

Caim Vel Lemorte, the General of the Forward, the invasion specialist amongst the three Firshan Generals. And the sheer fact he was here, without their prior knowledge, and not only here, but here with armed guards. That unnerved them. While Firsha was not at war with any nation of Teralis, that was the fear that it would come to pass. And this very meeting of nations with the intent to forge a permanent alliance that could challenge Firsha. Well that just made them more nervous to realize that this man was now walking towards them. That Firsha had found out about it, and was sending a representative, let alone a high ranking one to it.

Throughout the masquerade ball a slow rumor began to crawl through it, as the knights hurried to find their commander to inform him of this new development as Caim stood before the gates now, and said nothing. He had no reason to speak after all, they were already doing what he would have demanded, sending for someone important to come speak with him. And with no discernible facial expression, other than him merely staring at the guards with his arms crossed, well that only served to speed the rumors through the crowd as more details were slipped from the Ram Knights. And with this new development, the Ram Knights were keeping people in the estate, to stop people from causing a major incident and jump starting the all but inevitable war between the nations.

Antoine silently glared at his brother, suddenly wanting to have some time for himself, and away from the prying snobs, he merely said that all masquerades were like that using this masquerade as an example, he lowered his head.

”Please excuse me asher,” Antoine said. ”since it would seem that my own brother doesn’t want me here anymore, I will just go on my way, and don’t worry brother, I am not angry with you, nor feeling anything negative.”

Antoine then turned and mixed himself along the crowds and walked away to where the Balcony was he walked to the side, and then sat on the railing that was connected to the wall and then looked at the sky. he raised his champagne and then took a sip from it, then he looked at the stars, moments like this he drifted in his memories, he sighed.

”Which one is the lesser of two evils then?” Antoine asked himself. ”No one can really understand.”

Antoine opted to wait until the opportune time to go home, he didn’t feel like mingling with other people now.

The Lady Caelia Rhydderch
A Noble of Shildra

Location: the ball

Thoughts/feelings:

User Image

Oh hoho ~ Clapping her hands together Caelia’s tail wagged ten to the dozen as her ears flicked towards anyone who spoke. “ But but that’s part of the fun! “ she explained in all earnest towards Artemis “A masquerade is a mask, you get to pretend to the whole world that you are not who you were or as daddy sometimes says, you get to be who you really are and no one truly knows…. It is a bit silly but it’s fun, yes? Right? “ Nodding as she reached on out and grasped at the nekomata’s arms she couldn’t help but try and share some of her enthusiasm “ Yes yes?” But maybe the pretty kitty didn’t like masquerades? As the thought hit her Caelia’s enthusiasm rapidly deflated as she shot the group an uncertain look, her hands dropping as clasped them together. It was only as she moved to tug onto Tyria’s arm that the so called princess began to spark back into life “ We should say hello, all of those people. Who knew …but why …. Why ? “ Growling softly she couldn’t help but worry as the oddest little thought popped up in her mind “ will they try to steal you all away, do you…… do… you think they’ll do what , what that … that ….. “ Struggling to find a word that adequately described Aion Caelia’s cheeks puffed out before she let out an exasperated little sigh “ what he said?”

Tilting her head towards Artemis as she answered Caelia couldn’t help but look slightly puzzled, especially as her Nee-chan picked up upon the same thing. It was an awfully big family “ Perhaps…. You were all blessed, I stole nee-chan, well she lets me steal her because I was dreadfully spoilt and all and she was there in this place that my parents built. But …. Ahh, isn’t that something, five for five? “ Mulling this thought over Caelia was soon distracted by the fact that both Artemis and Umbral had accepted her offer to dance. Beaming happily as she suddenly pounced the rather shy looking prince Caelia couldn’t help but buzz with energy , though his story. His story made her want to pet him and she did just that, well as much as she could reach up and scratch at one ear “ You were ever so brave, I think I’d have just trembled in my boots “ Nodding to give her words extra emphasis caelia could not imagine how she would have acted in that scenari but n the end it was terribly sad that he had lost an eye.

Having tuned out the conversation Caelia blinked in surprise as she heard her nee-chan stating they should find Umbral a dance partner, one that would equal his skill “ Ooh nee-chan we should, we really should but whoooo hmmmm?” Darting forward she paused only to make sure that the party of people were following “ Do lets! !” Beaming happily she hopped on back as she latched her hand into Tyria’ and lightly tugged on her “ Shall we go spy out a new dance person for our new kitty friend and oh oh “ Holding out her other hand for Umbral she smiled warmly as she decided to let either Artemis or Umbral decide who would dance first, either way she wanted to dance with everyone…." lets have some fun ne?"

|| Axel II Silverion ||
The Crown Prince of Veshalon

Location: At the masquerade now

Axel had managed to find his way over towards the table filled with refreshments and food, and now that he'd made it there, he surveyed what was on it with quick and calculating eyes. For now, he picked up a glass of the delicate Ymiran white wine, beginning to sip on that slowly as his eyes went looking out at the crowd. He was going to find all the various siblings if he could, and looking towards the entrance to their own buildings was normally the best way to go for that. Axel was a bit on the tall side so that was a relief in being able to see through a crowd of people. Near the Jaln building he was able to catch sight of an inugami woman dressed in a suit, and of course she was recognizable since Axel had escorted her. The other Inugami Axel didn't know who she was, but she wasn't a royal, though she did come back with the female shopping group on the way back. Likely a friend of the silver haired one. These two Inugami were talking to one of the Jaln sisters, and another nekomata male, which, if Axel had to guess, was the female neko's brother based on how familiar they were with one another. But then again, Neko's were ridiculously familiar with one another anyway so there was no way to know for sure.

Surveying the crowd some more, he was able to pinpoint Nero with a human girl on his arm, also likely a sibling, and then there was the Shildran heir, Natasha walking with another Inugami right near them. Probably another royal sibling, Axel remembered seeing Aedalus talk with him a bit earlier, just before the guards told them to get ready for the masquerade. Other then that, Axel was also able to spot another one of the royal Renlovian siblings, the one that looked oddly effeminate. He was with another human and one of the Inugami that Axel remembered escorted, he doubted she remembered him though, she'd been so smashed on the way over. The last group for Axel to find was the one based around Ziora, and once Axel found her, he was able to spot another male nekomata and some flashy looking human that appeared to have approached them. Satisfied that Axel knew where the majority of the people were now, he picked up some sort of hor d'oeuvre and quietly started munching while keeping tabs on each of the royals, just quieting down to watch. If any nobles happened to start chatting with them, Axel would chat with them with a rather amiable feel to him, even if they weren't demons. He wasn't stupid enough to play all of his cards all at once.

On his casual keeping tabs on the various royals about, or who he thought to be royals at least, Axel managed to catch the red-haired Inugami just as she started walking off in his direction. Raising an eyebrow at this turn of events, he had no doubt that if he was the target of this drunk's attention, he was going to get run in to. Axel didn't really want to get run in to. Moving a bit to get the table of refreshments between him and her, it would turn out that Amber ran herself in to the table instead of him. Sure enough, she bumbled on over, ran in to the table, and then pointed at him, thankfully he was out of touching range. Axel gave off a feel as if he was mildly amused by the display, though inwardly he was somewhat annoyed that she was talking to him for whatever reason. Axel bowed back in return to her as she bowed and apologized before responding "Well it wasn't me you ran in to, it was the table, if anything it deserves an apology more than me." Axel responded with a bit of a smirk. It was then that she decided to ask him if he would judge some sort of game, and Axel gave her a quizzical look. "Judge a game...? Why pick me as the judge and not one of these others?" Her appeal to him just made him all the more uninterested. This would just be a display of idiots being idiots, and Axel preferred not to mesh with idiots.

Thankfully, there was an easy way for Axel to get out of this, because just then Axel's attention got caught by some random nobles speaking to each other nearby about something rather... Interesting. Lightly tapping the nearby noble on the shoulder Axel asked "Excuse me, but would you be so kind as to repeat what it was you just said?" "Ah, certainly." The man responded, before starting up what he'd just said to his female companion "I've just heard that one of the three Firshan Generals has shown up at our door! Can you imagine? What is it they could possibly want? It's so strange that they're not attacking and just calmly walking up to our door." Axel was silent for a moment as he thought about this. It was very strange for sure. "Thank you." Was what Axel responded with a nod of his head, and with that the gentleman went back to talking to his companion. He'd almost forgotten about the red-headed Inugami because he was much more interested in getting closer to the gate to figure out what's going on. He remembered just in time though and turned to her before responding "I'm sorry, but this new development is rather interesting, and I'd like to learn a bit more so I'll be moving to ask around. Though, for your type of game, perhaps a nekomata would get quite a bit of enjoyment out of your game? If you could find one of the royal family members in this crowd then I'm sure it would be a judge of considerable enough status for a Prince." Axel said with a bit of a smile, giving a hint of playfulness almost. He didn't want it to seem like he was going to refuse her in the first place after all. With a nod of his head, Axel then headed off so that he could get as close to the gates as possible without looking suspicious.

The more Amber found herself scrutinizing the horns atop this man’s head, the more curious she felt as to how such features were possible. Sure, while she had used to attend political gathers with other Veshalon people, it wasn’t often anybody had literal spikes jutting out of their heads. ‘I bet you could skewer someone with those…’ it wasn’t until the lollipop tattooed stranger denied the offer did the Inugami sigh. It was unavoidable, however and blame couldn’t be pushed onto this individual, but it was a shame. How freaked out would girly prince have been if she brought back such an intimidating looking judge? ‘Either way, he’ll be dressed in frills, pink and poufy in no time~!’ As the horned lollipop man rushed off, the corner of her mouth tugged upwards into a grin, “I hope you find whom your searching for~” before turning and scurrying off herself. The third thing (bolded, highlighted and underlined five times) on a precariously long list to avoid were figures holding authority, even powerful objects were too be averted at all costs. Once, when presented with the holiest sword in existence, Amber did more than just gawk. She puked all over the damn thing, abhorring its power and political value to the extent her guts cried in agony. It hadn’t been a pretty sight, and her mentor had quit shortly after.

Basically, this ‘general’ and duke she had been hearing aristocrats shamelessly gossip about beings who pretty much symbolized the bane of her existence.

A hand moved to brush red strands back, as the other fixed a mask that never seemed to desire to stay in place. “I’d sooner eat my own great sword than—“ Ah, but negativity wasn’t allowed in what were meant to be ‘fun’, and entertaining events. Shaking off the unsightly inferiority complex rearing its ugly head once again, the Inugami’s thoughts were beginning to clear and thus her temper rising. Damn successful people, how were the average meant to hold a candle to their glory?! Yep, that was it, this drinking game had to begin now, and a more than a few glasses needed to be hammered down. Sweeping the clusters of royals, a few individuals were like a beacon which green eyes immediately zeroed onto. Sister, Caelia, a nekomata and Artemis were only a swarm of stinky piranhas away! Forcefully shoving her way through, rude comments of such behavior fell on momentarily deaf canine ears, and the princess soon snuck up behind her beloved sister. Enveloping the tall Inugami in a huge, arms wrapped around her athletic yet slender torso, “guess who~!”

Oh, but this had to be done quick, and smooth, like greasing the palace floors with butter. For once, the embrace was chaste, and moved to stand outside the group, and bowed once again. Screw curtsying! “Hello~ I know this is sudden, and that we have had no contact prior to this-“ a sly glint could be seen, a mischievous smile making an appearance before it morphed into that of politeness. “-but would any of you spare a few moments, and judge a drinking game? I assure you, the results will be.. Entertaining, which would be quite an understatement~ would any of the lovely ladies or the handsome gentleman like to participate?” Words carefully chosen but not overly stuffy and polite, both hands clasped behind her back as impatient eyes glanced between familiar and unfamiliar faces. Shifting to sweep an arm to motion towards the stiff looking, piranha like attendants, that silly grin finally made an appearance. “It’ll be a much better time than that~!”

Star Dimitri Xanalos
First Prince of Jalxeer
I am at the Ball, with Ziora.

Star huffed with slight frustration. Ziora called his bluff. He was slightly annoyed by it, which showed in how he carried himself next. After knocking back the last of his drink, he started with his sister. "Yes, complete and utter nonsense. I only favor one chest. Your sources must be getting a little unreliable, dear sister..." He then looked to the newcomer there, a man dressed in incredibly flashy attire. He might have though he looked decent if he wasn't already a little annoyed.

"Well, you obviously were not doing it right." Was all he said, referring to his statement about not liking back loading. Then another wine glass plate passed by to which he quickly and carefully filched another cup. Ziora asked if one of them would like to dance with her. He didn't have to look back to her to answer at all. He gave this other guy one more suggestion before walking off. "Please, take her off my hands, spare me the agony of her tongue..."

He didn't have to know Ziora much to know she tended to take things too far. So he walked away before allowing her the chance to say anything further about him. He would have to find something else to absorb his time here. Being a royal p***k wasn't his thing anymore, but that didn't mean he was above acting like one to keep others at bay.

...Riding up and down Broadway On my old stud Leroy, and the girls say, 'Save a horse, ride a cowboy!' Everybody says, 'Save a horse, ride a cowboy!' "

Doing: Trying to deal with this situation

User ImageUmbral laughed slightly as the girls exchanged horror stories about being forced into certain clothes. Umbral didn't mind the clothes he had to wear, but then, he had no idea how bad dresses might be, so that comparison might be unfair. He let the girls talk about their dresses in peace before the conversation was returned to him and his eye. "I don't know, I just sort... he was tired and drunk, probably, so he may have fell on his own, maybe? And it wasn't... that brave, really. I just, kinda, well, I didn't even fight back really, I don't think? I mean maybe I did, but I think I mostly tried to get away or something. My memory's a little hazy of the event." He rubbed the back of his head nervously as he went on. He was so worried about avoiding the praise that he almost didn't notice the girl on his arm. He smiled a little nervously at her, enjoying the gesture, but not really sure how to properly react to it. People didn't tend to be this excitable or touchy-feely at noble events.

The conversation rotated back towards the dance and, for some reason, finding Umbral a dance partner. "No really, it's fine. I'm just okay, anyway... Besides, Ziora said I have to ask someone to dance myself, which I don't think you guys finding me a partner qualifies..." He somehow doubted if his excuses would work with Artemis around - she tended to be used to ignoring him when he tried to slip out of things - but perhaps her friends would support his avoidance of forcing someone to dance with him. Umbral took a look at the green haired girl's hand and wasn't sure what to do. "I mean, I'll dance with you, but I'm really not that good, there's really no need to drag someone else into this... But then someone else dragged themselves into all of this. Some inugami joined the group and asked them to judge a drinking game, which put a slight frown on Umrbal's face. Why anyone would want to make a game out of such a silly habit confounded him.

Kallen was a little unsure how to take her comment that she's attended more balls than he could count. Paired with any other tone, it might have seemed normal to him. But the suggestive notes in her voice begged the question of what she could possibly mean. She carried on, though, and he decided best to leave it alone for the moment, taking another drink from his glass. At a moment of pause, he decided to speak up for a moment. "Hm. It sure is foreign alright..."

However, she then mentioned that it was starting to get a little less foreign, and he looked up to her. Then followed where she was looking to see a slightly familiar sight. A quick and subtle wiff of the air confirmed his suspicions. This was the prince he met earlier. Aedalus spoke first, and then Natasha. To which point he chuckled slightly. "Eris? How cliche."

He then thought for a moment. Natasha would no doubt expect him to find a name. And, to save himself time for creative thought, he pretty much picked one out of the air. "If you're going to be Eris, then I will be Ares." he chuckled some more. He then took the last bit of drink and carefully placed it on a passing plate for it to be properly taken care of.

Smirking as Star walked off he decided to bring something up, "Is that what I can say to you about front end loading?" he replied back with a twinkle to his eyes, "That you did it wrong?"

Though letting him go either way Kessa turned his attention back to Ziora, "Trade Secret, wouldn't be one of the best if I just went around and told everybody my tricks now would I?" he replied with a wink and then without a moment's hesitation sprang forward at the offer of a dance, "Oh who knows I could. [Oh hoho~ Now that had pushed a button and a half hadn’t it? Oh boy ,if the poor man thought that she was already pressing too deep than he needed to hang about the court some more, her words were like butter compared to what they could throw out. Either way his reaction left her with a bemused smile playing upon the corner of her lips, it was only her blue eyes that hardened slightly as she arched an eyebrow at him. “ Agony dear brother? My my Star you have not even felt the tip of my tongue~ “

Turning her attention back to the pirate Ziora’s eyes flashed as she gave him her brightest smile, ignoring the heat that suddenly flooded her cheeks. Oh she really was going to cause the second bloody cival war after this. Her. Mother. Was . Going. To… Going ..Too… Realising that she’d been silent a second too long Ziora arched an eyebrow, no matter how angry she was at her mother she knew she would never go that far. Not without a real reason but “ Oh –ho ho ~ Only the second? Dare I ask what was the first “Resisting the urge to try and pull down the dress that started to split at her hips Ziora leant forward as she flashed him a wink “ Shame, can’t blame a girl for trying “ She grinned as she placed her hand in his and offered him a mockery of a bow “ Oh who knows…. You’ll never know unless you try ~ “

As she started to move to the music, her body swaying in time Ziora's smirk widened " the real question there is, could you keep me "

Artemis Xanalos
Third Princess of Jalxeer
Location: The the Masquerade Ball
With: Her brother Umbral, Tyria, and Caelia
Outfit: Kimono pattern, Headpiece, Sash accessory, Mask

With the mention of the guests, Artemis pondered...A few were Jalns recognizable by their ears and tails alone, wasn't hard to see the difference between a Jaln or a Shildran- you simply had to look at their tails. In any case, plenty of them seemed to be enjoying themselves while those select few who simply stood around waiting for someone to approach them first. And she had to agree with Caelia's logic, in fact it made perfect sense. "Yes, I agree." she said. And was it her, or was Caelia getting kind of hyper?

Poor Umbral had begun to stutter his words again, making it seem as if he barely remembered anything. Sure he'd gotten an eye gouged out, but that was completely different from getting hit on the head. Well, given the outcome, it was also normal to feel hazy about such a memory. Luckily Tyria didn't seem to mind her brother's bashfulness.
As the Shildraina princess spoke of their mothers, Artemis blew some hair from her face in a semi-annoyed manner. "I think my mother does it just to grate my nerves, in fact she seems to enjoy tormenting my older sister and I...I guess I envy you on that one." she chuckled. She then went to mention her own family- well, this was a surprise! "Well this is quite a coincidence!" Although she was somewhat confused with Caelia going on about how she stole her beloved friend, or rather, her 'nee-chan.'

And it seemed she and Tyria had yet another thing in common in regards to mingling with the townspeople. "You know, we have a lot in common...I actually spent a lot of time helping out with their chores, too. One of my biggest jobs when I go down into the market is a babysitter of sorts- in other words, I keep the tykes out of trouble while their parents work. But I enjoy it; in fact I've become something of a sister to them." Some could be little brats but heck, she loved them all. "Although I've never done mining or tinkering labor...our father does the latter." She wondered if she should give details about her father...funny thing, he was a king and yet, anyone who had a first glance might mistake him for another tech junkie.

She couldn't help but smile as Xaelia took hold of Umbral before literally petting him. The way Inugami tails wagged was just so darn cute! So was the sight of her scratching her brother's ear. Awww! As tomboyish as she was, Artemis liked cute things, but unlike some tough people, it wasn't something she kept hidden.
At the mention of finding Umbral a dance partner of equal skill, Artemis rubbed her chin contemplatively. Ah but who? Oh right, Ziora did say he should man up and ask a girl himself, didn't she? Artemis wasn't about to let Umbral slip away without taking some kind of initiative, and seeing Caelia's outstretched hand, she nodded. "I'm all for fun, and to be honest, I think you and Umbral would look great dancing together." She said, not making it official, but giving her own little insight. It was up to Umbral if he wanted to take her hand and ask her to dance first or not- Arti wouldn't stop him.

Before an immediate answer could be given, a familiar head of hair appeared and wrapped its arms around Tyria- Speak of the devil, it was Amber! "Nice to see you again Amber, and while you're sober!" She couldn't help but joke about it. It wasn't hard to see the plotting smile which curled her lips, what was on her mind? Artemis' curiosity was soon answered as Amber spoke regarding a contest. A smile crossed Arti's own lips, but she wondered Tyria's say on this. "A drinking game, eh? Sounds entertaining indeed~ Would definately give me something to laugh about!" But with whom was Amber competing with, she wondered...

Aramitis Silverion
Third Prince of Veshalon

Where am I? The masquerade.
Who am I with? Artemis, Umbral, Tyria, and Caelia... But I don't actually know their names.
How am I feeling? Sick of being on guard all the time.

Aramitis' eyes continued to comb the crowd, albeit in a drastically less frantic manner. He simply looked, he didn't observe or analyze. It was a party. There was nothing to worry about. No one would start a scene this early in the peace meeting, nor would anyone interrupt a simple party.

Aramitis allowed himself a genuine smile as he noticed Aedalus limp over to another gentleman and strike up a conversation. If Aedalus could enjoy himself at a party, so could he! He took another gulp of wine, finishing the glass before he sat it down on a nearby table. He could feel the wine, but it wasn't that bad. Just two glasses...

He looked up from the table to see Axel's horns, which were attached to his head, which had ears, which were being whispered into. Aramitis' smile turned to a frown. Clearly he was up to something, but what? Aramitis also noticed movement from the guards near the door to the ballroom. Was something going on? He quickly looked around the room for possible escapes. There were many windows, an easy, if not conspicuous escape route. Behind the band there was a door. It would likely be to a kitchen or some other room used by the staff. Aramitis took note of these, before shaking his head. Nothing is going to happen, it's just a masquerade.

He refocused himself on the merriment, overhearing something about a drinking contest from a group nearby. He smiled.

"Did I hear something about a drinking competition?" Aramitis said, moving towards the group of Nekomata and Inugami, his bass voice vibrating his mask and making his nose itch slightly. "I think I could do with some entertainment." He smiled earnestly, though the mask hid his grin.

Tyria Maenalos
The Second or 'Peasant' Princess of Shildraina

Location: The Masquerade

Tyria's tail continued to wag rather happily, though she was hardly on the level of Caelia's mental state. Caelia had a tendency to get rather hyper and overexcited, Tyria didn't really do this as much, oftentimes Tyria could be compared as an anchor for the quick moving and excitable Caelia. Tyria couldn't help chuckling a little as Caelia grabbed on to the arms of the nekos, asking them if they agreed and Tyria just nodded. "Well, masquerades are certainly more interesting than balls." It seemed that Caelia's mood was quickly switching between rather happy and rather sad and then sort of angry. Especially when she had to think about what Aion said earlier about the nobles maybe being here to try and upgrade their status. Tyria was really the wrong person to ask about this and she looked around a little and let out a hum of contemplation. "I suppose it's a possibility, and Aion's much better at political intrigue than I am. So while I might be more inclined to say that's not what their purpose here is, Aion wouldn't have said it if he didn't believe it to some degree."

That was when Artemis responded to some of the things that Tyria had said, and she smiled a little towards what she said about her mother. "Well, I hear that about a lot of mothers, perhaps it's a mother's job to grate on their children's nerves?" Tyria joked, but she was keeping her responses to this rather vague. Tyria's mother didn't really torment her or the other siblings, but if she thought they were doing something wrong or not proper, she would certainly lay on the guilt and let them know what it was they were doing wrong. Tyria's mother was more grating on the psyche itself rather then just poking at one's nerves. Still, Tyria went to move on by saying "I wonder if the other families have five children as well?" Though it wasn't long before Artemis was drawing yet another connection between then and Tyria brightened a little "Oh how fun! I did that too in a way, I lived in an orphanage for a while and since I was one of the older ones I looked after the younger kids sometimes, as well as doing a lot of the chores around the area. I do a whole bunch of things around town, I like keeping myself busy, and down in the lower districts of town that's one of the best places to do it."

Though it would seem that Umbral was really shy or nervous or something, because he was soon responding to their comments about his eye story by stumbling over himself to make himself sound less than he was. Tilting her head a little bit Tyria responded "I'd have to agree with Caelia and say that you were brave. Bravery doesn't necessarily mean seeking out big things and going about things with a gung-ho attitude, rather it means being able to handle whatever comes at you to the best of your ability and with conviction in your decisions. That's what I always thought anyway. On another note though, you should be more confident in yourself! You seem to be working hard to stumble over your words here." There was a smile on Tyria's face though, she was saying these things in a good natured fashion, but thought they were true nonetheless. Umbral soon turned down the idea that Caelia and Tyria had started to attach themselves to, the idea of finding Umbral a dance partner that was just as skilled as he was. "Oh... Are you sure? It might be fun to find someone who can dance well. Perhaps we can help you find someone that can dance really well and then you ask them! Might as well make a goal for the task that Ziora's set you to right?"

Before Tyria could continue on, she found herself letting out a little sound of surprise when someone wrapped their arms around her to give her a hug, but it wasn't too hard for her to figure out who it was. "Why hello there Caelia~" Tyria was careful to use the name they'd already decided for Amber, though Artemis did slip up a little and Tyria put a finger to her lips as if to say shh and be careful! They didn't want their cover blown so quickly! When Amber informed them what it was that she was trying to do, Tyria couldn't help chuckling a little. "Looks like you're having plenty of fun at this party already! I won't participate, but I would be willing to watch." Tyria had always thought that drunk people were rather fun to watch, even if the hobby itself wasn't the best of things for ones health or mental wellbeing. The drinking contest seemed to attract yet another person, a horned person by the looks of it. "Yes indeed a drinking contest, and knowing Caelia it's sure to be rather entertaining." Tyria chuckled, lightly tugging on her red-headed sister's ear as she mentioned her name. Well, her fake name technically.
