Welcome to the world of Phantasm. A world of wonder and magic, kings and queens, treasure and quests, monsters and legends. A place where magic is very much alive, and immersed in daily lives through natural magic users, tomes, spells, and potions.

On Phatasm there are five main regions: Septentrio in the north, Austri in the south, Orientem in the east, Occidens in the west, and central is Ipsum where the High King resides. Each region is its own kingdom, but all kingdoms are watched over by the appointed High King, and his word is final in any disputes.

In terms of magic, there are magic guilds in all kingdoms that are created to help with problems only magic can solve (often fighting monsters). Being a big part of keeping the peace in Phantasm, they are held with great regard and have their own magic council that oversees the guilds themselves. Each guild is allowed one representative (generally the guild master) to represent the guild in the council and the council is then ruled by 7 magic users (the elite) appointed by the king. All decisions are to go through the elite 7 and their rules create the guild network bylaws.

As of now the world of Phantasm is mostly at peace. That isn't to say that some political tensions are not rising. Peace can only last for so long, and there are rumors of an impending darkness/evil that lays dormant and may one day awaken.

So as a new day begins, our story will unfold...

Some Rules to Follow

1) This is a walk-in style so no profiles are required, but please provide us with a first and last name for your character in the first post. Also please use readable font size/color and if you include a picture please no page stretchers. Either resize it or supply a link to the picture.

2) No one liners and please don't use asterisks. Please write as if you are reading this from a book. Proper grammar and all. On that note I don't need a long book to read, but give us something to work off of a good 1-2 paragraphs minimum.

3) I understand that schedules are different but please try not to leave people behind, or leave people hanging. If you lose interest that's okay, just write yourself out somehow. If you have been inactive for a while and I see that you are holding others up I will take control and write an exit for your character. Feel free to jump in when/if you return though.

4) You may create more than one character with limit of 3. If a character dies you may replace them as well. Please don't kill off others character without permission, and no power playing/god moding or what not.

5) Right now there isn't much of a plot. Just know that eventually there will be a little plot having to do with the darkness lingering, but for now it's a free for all. So be creative and have fun, but don't go overboard.

6) in regards to magic, please limit your magic abilities to one specialty! Think of it like Fairy Tail (if you've ever read the manga/seen the anime). The guilds themselves are set up similarly with a guild master and then the members and different ranked quests that the members can take part in to make money.

Septentrio

Icy Mountain Range: Range of mountains in the far north of Septentrio that is frozen year round. An arctic climate that is not for the faint of heart. Many ice magic users were born in villages that border the mountain range.

Pheonix Rising Guild Hall located in the city of Mist.

Austri

Black Wolf Guild Hall located outside the city of Velspa. It is connected however by the long bridge.

Trinity Guild Hall located in the city of Astalia.

Orientem

Gaia Guild Hall located in the city of Terra.

Elite 7

Jubilee Guild Master of the Gaia guild. Her abilities are in plant magic.

Kai SS rank member of the Black Wolf guild. His magic is wind based.

Dorian Guild Master of the Dark Moon guild. His abilities are in painting magic.

Emeraud SS rank member of Phoenix Rising. Her abilities are in weapons/equip magic. Her animal companion is a falcon.

Horace Guild Master of the Predator guild. His abilities are in beast magic.

Agatha: SS rank member of the Lamia guild. Her abilities are in healing magic.

Kenzo SS rank member of the Trinity guild. His abilities are in code magic.


Official Guilds/Masters

Phoenix Rising: Guild Master Tenzen
Guild symbol is of course a rising phoenix and most of the members have some sort of animal companion with them. Some liken them to beast tamers at times, and they often find harmony when out in the wilderness (most any condition).

Gaia: Guild Master Jubilee
Guild symbol represents the earth. Members of the guild have a strong connection to nature, and sometimes are considered hippies.

Black Wolf Guild master Jubei
Guild symbol is a Wolf with a circle around it. All members of this guild are anthropomorphic or have features of animals/traits within them.

Dark Moon: Guild master Dorian
Guild symbol is a crossing of three moons. Members of this guild all wear some form of black, it's just a thing. The three moons represent their ideals of unity, power, and wisdom.

Predator: Guild master Horace
Guild symbol appears like an animal skull. Members of this guild are strong and excellent hunters.

Lamia: Guild master Ursala
Guild symbol is a lamia of course. This is an all female guild.

Trinity: Guild master Genru
Guild symbol is an ankh. Members of the guild are those who strongly seek knowledge, logic, and advancement.

Quest Ranks

B Class: Basic quest that any rank can complete. Generally a good place for a novice to the guild system to begin.

A Class: Advanced quest, pay is more and quest is harder. For those who are more seasoned guild members.

G Class: Group quest. Pay is split between number of members accepting quest. Often involves multiple monsters or very large/high rank monsters. For higher class guild members some will attempt these solo, but special permission must be given by the guild master.

S Class: More advanced than G class, but must have an S class rank in the guild to complete these quests. They are considered special quests and often take a longer time to complete. Higher risk of failure/death also.

SS Class: The most elite class quest available. At any given time there are only a handful of these quests. They are given directly by the High King himself to specific guild members, and are a special rank of their own. Those who are a part of the elite 7 are some of those whom have completed the SS class quests.

++++++++++++The flurry white flakes roared across the stone path. The storm cast a veil that made every step treacherous.
A man wrapped in what looked like a collection of whatever cloth he had at hand was thankful that the path was easy enough to keep track of. It can be frightfully easy to get lost in this kind of weather. A proud wall to his left and a sharp precipice to his right kept his path true.
He was feeling more than worn out from the journey so far, but rest was a dangerous idea. He would have to keep moving or else risk freezing. The man pulled his swaddled cloak tighter around him and kept moving.

++++++++++++Unseen, a large white foxed stared at the lone traveler from his vantage point. The man would have rejoiced if he had known that his target was just above his head, but even that would be in vain.
A ragged boot struck a loose rock and gave way. What would have been a minor stumble anywhere else, was here deadly.
The white fox followed the man with cold eyes as he fell to an inevitable death.
It was not that the fox had no pity for the man, but what pity did exist was of the sort to be quickly forgotten. It was like the feeling one may have after seeing the remains of yet another squirrel crushed by a trader's cart.
The fox spared one eulogy for the stranger, "A man that can not even make their way to my home, is not worthy of the artifact."

Maya was currently in Septentrio within the Icy Mountain range. She'd taken an A class quest solo. Well, almost solo, she didn't go anywhere without her trusty sidekick Malachi, a white wolf and old friend. Her quest was to travel to the Icy Mountains and dispatch of a nasty frost atronach that had been terrorizing the village at the base of the mountain. It's supposed den was high within the Icy Mountain range.

The Icy Mountains were given their name for a reason. Year round ice and snow lashed at the mountains sculpting the dangerous peeks and creating a wintery masterpiece of death and illusion. They were dangerous mountains to pass through and only the stronger monsters could withstand the frosty lifestyle.

Despite the wintry cold, Maya was clad only in a thin animal skin to covered essential parts. Her tan skin was greatly exposed and her aqua blue eyes merged into the blistering whtie around them. Boots of fur came to her ankles and a fur lined cloak was wrapped around her slender shoulders, but other than the little clothing she was bare skin. Runic tattoos scaled her body and her long dark hair was braided and pulled out of her face in a ceremonial fashion.

Strapped to her boots was a pair of hunting knives, cleverly blended into the fur to be easily missed by an untrained eye. Her weapon of choice, though, was a pair of special made katar she kept strapped to her sides. When equipped, a switch allowed for the seemingly single blade to split into three. A last weapon was used for longer distance attacks, a chainwhip, and was hooked onto her right side.

Maya had grown up in frigid weather most of her life, so the cool temperatures didn't phase her. Her abilities were control of ice, so it was fitting she'd be in this climate. Septentrio had been her home her entire life, but since she'd joined the guild years ago she'd gotten to travel the world, but always returned back here.

Scaling the mountain a moment she made her way to a landing as she pulled herself up and stood brushing off the snow. The frigid air felt nice on her bare skin as she looked around. Malachi sat beside her and waited for her lead. Up ahead the steep slope she climbed was the entrance to a cave, "Guess that's where we go" she said with a grin as she trudged onward.

Nathan Belmont

Nathan as a new recruit had to shadow a veteran of the Phoenix Rising Guild. It was hard because she seemed so observant and never stopped moving. Her wolf kept catching his scent so he kept having to hide under the snow. He was lucky he hadn't caught hypothermia yet. Nathan only had to trail one more guild veteran before he could go on a quest on his own. Go with Maya, Tenzen said. It won't be hard to trail her. Nathan was lucky he hadn't brought his falcon or this would have been 110 percent harder to do.

As Maya reached the entrance of the cave and spoke to her wolf. Nathan could feel the fatigue and cold setting in. A huge sneeze could be felt coming on. He tried to cover it but it was to huge to get rid of. He sneezed and it made a very loud sound. Maya would have to be deaf not to hear it. Nathan froze in place. Of all the times he had shadowed a member he had been very quiet and muffled he still hoped she hadn't heard it.

Kisten Littlemen

The hobbit made his way down the narrow streets past through and around people's feet. They weren't being particularly helpful nor was there anything he wanted to do today but time or fate or whatever had decided that in the middle of smoking his pipe, relaxing on his solitary porch comfortable when he'd found himself simply on a busy street, sitting on a stoop.

Confound it all, being able to pop in and out of time and space, transcending planes at a moments notice was all well and good, it certainly seemed an interesting power to have acquired however it would be an even more desirable trait if he had any control over it.

"Littlemen what have you gotten yourself into this time. A right bother I would say. Oh yes, Winni LoadWorth would have quite the words for you seeing as you've wandered off again." His pipe and what have you was still in his hands and at least this time his clothing had been brought along on the trip. It was quite the uncouth way of introducing ones self to ones ancient ancestors by appearing naked in the middle of their feasting table. That had been a task on its own. He wanted his comforts even if he wasn't a particularly good hobbit mind but he was still a hobbit, a halfling, he liked his comforts.

Beyond his pipe, Kisten had nothing on him simply the clothing on his back. Lovely stuff that. Being naked in a busy street would probably not be received well. Sighing the halfling relaxed against a vacant alcove hoping at any moment he'd be drawn back ot his own place and time soon enough. It was the way of these things even if he had no idea what amount of time he'd been spending in one area or another.

As she approached the cavern two things happened. First there was a mighty sneeze behind her. It seemed the guild member shadowing had a bit of the sneezes. Second she heard a noise from high above followed by the obvious sound of something falling toward her from above. Pausing she looked up a moment to see a body careening toward her. "Well....that can't be good" she said with a sigh.

Planting her feet she took careful aim as she shot a blast of ice into the air to create a sort of slide for the falling body to land on and gently come down to the ground near where she was. The in initial hit on the ice would be a bit rough, but she had no control over that. If they safely made it down to the ground she would check to see if the person was still alive. If they were they would probably need some help, if not well best she could do was provide them with a fitting grave.

"I know Tenzen said you should trail, but feel free to come out and help. I always feel there's no better way to get used to this than hands on. Help me with this guy here?" she called through the wind. Her goal would have to wait for now.

Nathan approached master Maya after she called out to him. He was ready for anything to come down on them. Two blades appeared in his hands attached to chains that came out of his wrists. "I'm Nathan Belmont I'm new to the guild. I want only to aide you. We've met once before in the training hall." Nathan heard a sort of cracking noise that can only be place to once object that he can think of.

Ice. Tons and tons of ice shifting on top of itself. Nathan first looked up to the mountain ridge to check if it was the glacier at the top of the mountain, but there were no signs of cracks or melting. As soon as he looked at the cave entrance a hulking mass was near the entrance to the cave. Nathan was unsure of what to do so he looked at Maya waiting for her to say something.

Malachi bared his teeth as he caught scent of the beast coming to the entrance of the cave. The sudden noise must have awoken the frost atronoch. Maya sighed as she lowered the man to the ground, "Here, help pull him to the side. YOU keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't get killed, and Malachi and I will deal with the target" she said nodding toward Malachi.

The ground began to tremble as the atronoch came forth. It was over 10 feet tall and the size of a very large tree. Atronochs generally did not interfere with others unless provoked, but in this case the creature had gone aggro and was just attacking at random. So it had to be stopped.

This was going to be tough since she was fighting ice with ice, but it was a beatable battle if played right. "Malachi you distract it, but keep your guard" she said to her companion. Malachi gave a howl and charged at the creature as it turned its sights onto MAalchi and gave a loud roar that echoed through the wintry slopes and shook the ground. Taking out her chain whip she charged forward as well and lashed out at it, keeping the whip encased in shards of ice to add to the damaging effects.

The frost atronoch swung first at Malachi and then took a blast at Maya. She dodged out of the way as the blast landed behind her and froze the ground. She looked at the massive sheet of ice and smirked, "all's fair" she said as she curled her hand into a fist and suddenly punched the ground heavily. A blast of spiked ice shot forward to the atronoch and knocked it over as it struggled to get back up. Taking her chain once more she released it so more appeared and added extra links of ice as she lashed it forward to try and trap the atronoch on its back.

Nathan grabbed the man who fell down and dragged him away from the atronoch. Nathan wanted more than anything to join the fight. He watched Maya and malachi both attacking the ice giant. Nathan got jumpy and left the man on his own. The man woke up as Nathan was running to join the fight. Nathan's chain daggers sucked into his body and a light surrounded his hand. When the light dispersed his hands were rather large ice picks. The frost atronoch hit the floor when Nathan was approaching.

He stepped over the frost atronoch and took a huge leap. Nathan went down into the frost atronoch's shoulder with his ice pick. It cracked across it's body, but that only slowed it down. He looked back at Maya.

Cyrus braced herself, hungrily eyeing at the entrance like it was some kind of succulent meal. "Come on!" She thought to herself, "it's right there!" But no matter how hard she stared, she was too anxious to simply walk through the doors.

She sighed tiredly and then looked behind her. Maybe she should forget being some kind of magic god, I mean.. her? a super-wizard? Pfft--not in a million years. But, she still was compelled to come. ..Stupid! Why did she come? Was she really that preoccupied with the idea of becoming a profound superhero?

Well, it wasn't like she could just walk off now. She spent all her money..
So, Cyrus steeled herself. She straightened her back, put on a tough look and walked through the doors of the black-wolf guild.

Katerina Gata looked up as a girl entered the Wolf Guild. The girl had a tough look on her face, but Katerina saw right thru that. She didn't appear to have any animal characteristics. Katerina would have forced her out, but she needed help for her next Quest, or at lest a human shield.
"What brings you here human?" she asked the girl.
