XXXXXX ▸ ▹ ▸ " There is nothing left. " she retorted in a low Depressingly haunted voice.

She stared aimlessly down at open books, all opened to similar pages through context practices. She had been reading them, however, had stopped recently. She was rather void with her movements, remaining still, and lacking total movement. She was tired, so very tired. She knew not to give into the temptation of resting her weary eyes, for there was something much more waiting for her in another realm. Alma lifted her hand towards her face, she could not even feel herself pulling at her cheeks, the only thing she felt was the sharp tired pains of her eyes demanding they be closed. She tried to keep herself awake, resorting to methods that involved more movements, but as soon as she tried to do them, she immediately felt sluggish and unwilling to cooperate with her mindset. Eventually, she just collapsed onto her desk. Falling into a seemingly endless slumber.

It was all so short-lived. Alma could not sleep peacefully:

She lifted her head from the floor, she proceeded to rub her head as if she was struck by a large blunt object. Her head held a sharp pain towards the temples. She looked around at her surroundings. She seemed distraught at where she was, she seemed to not have much of a memory of this place. It was a dim lit room, candled torches had scattered themselves across the room in convenient places, scattered so far apart, that only very little light broke through the darkness to show what was in between these torches. Alma rose to her feet in a sense that one would never see her rise in: Hesitation. She was laced with a dreadful fear. But the question had still stood. Why was Alma afraid of the dark? She was drawn to this, this was her sanctuary. She enjoyed the dark and it welcomed her with arms so wide. But even Alma could get scared. Something lurked, and it could not be seen. Alma fixated herself to steer forward and proceed on with her adventure. She moved towards the desk, it was littered with papers and spilled ink cups. She moved closer in and examined the pieces of papers. She picked two sheets up, these were the two located on the top of the piles, ink was spilled all across them, but there were text on them. She let out a raspy post, and recited these texts.

" My fault. . . My fault. . . My fault. . . ? " She spoke aloud, but her voice seemed hindered, it was not being projected properly. It insinuated upon her fear.

The text repeated itself until the entire page was filled. She set the sheets down upon the pile and her eyes scanned over more of these texts. It was rather unsettling. . . They all seemed to contain just these two words. Sprawled out in tenths of a hundred pages. They were all marked with some sort of date. But they were all smudged. The only thing that stood out, were X X V. She moved onward towards the room. She took a holster off the wall that housed two candles. This was her source of light. She moved through the large room and towards the door. As she turned the handle, the door was locked. This was the only door in the room, so there must be some way to open it. She moved back from the door, her eyes gazed around for a moment. There was an insignia upon it's lock. It looked empty, but there was a clue. She could not make it out correctly, but upon further inspection. It would seem that half of the key was already in the lock. The other half of the key seemed to be an Orange gem. Preferably a Topaz. Around the Topaz, there was an insignia of a large Scorpion's right half. The left half was missing. Alma made sense of it quickly upon it's further examination. She moved back towards the desk to see if there was another key laying around here somewhere. She did not even try to make sense of why the right half of the key was already placed in the lock. Upon returning to the desk, she opened the drawer, something slid towards the front of the drawer, however, something else caught her attention. Upon her eyes returning to the desk, she noticed the text on the papers, they read:

" Your Fault. . . Your Fault. . . Your Fault. . . " This repeated across the sheets of paper. When did they change? How did they change? Alma's eyes grew restless, scanning quickly she gripped the left half of the key and made way towards the door.

She inserted the key into the left side of the lock. Upon doing so, the door clicked. Alma went to leave.

" You Can't! " the voice, more importantly, Alma's own voice, shouted back at her from in front of the desk in the room. Alma turned around -- how could this be?
" Don't look back, Sister. . . " she called out, Alma, unfortunately tried to turn around.

The door was kicked off, clean off the hinges. It crashed forward onto her, sending her to the floor. The candle torch smashed into the floor, causing the two candle sticks to roll against the hardwood floors. They both caught fire. A Large beast entered the room, swiping the door clean off of her. Before she could move, he impaired her with the work of a large sword. It went clean through the right shoulder. She was now forced to the floor, nailed to it like a board. She had yelped out in her own voice, a sharp pain enters her body. The fire begins to spread across the room. There were many objects here to spark and carry the flame quickly. Books, Papers, Wood, Rugs. Eventually it would all go into flames. But the beast just stood by as it he was waiting for something. As soon as fire engulfed the room, Alma's doppelganger watched idly by, as she was half consumed by the flames, but not being harmed. Alma's hand could no longer avoid the flames, her skin would burn. It would melt, and the fire would continue to spread. Alma's hand twitched rapidly, in countless efforts to put the flame out, but this was not the case.

" I can't save you. . . you have to die, you just have too. . . " The doppelganger called out in a sad whisper, kneeling before her sister who continued to burn. Alma closed her eyes, but another voice rang through the smoldering embers of the flame.

" Let this be a reminder, Alma. " Without much more time, Alma burned alive. . .

Alma gasped herself awake, with a jumpscare, she rose her head up. She could feel herself cry, but she did not make proper sounds. She could feel something resting against her. Another body.

" Sister, Are you alright. . . " The doppelganger whispered.
" No. . . " Alma had retorted, with short breaths and a weak voice.
" I know. " The doppelganger had replied.
                                                  " . . . " Alma did not respond further.
" You are bleeding. . . " the doppelganger spoke again, wasting no time.
" I know. " Alma replied with again, she was in shock.
" We know the same pain. " the doppelganger had replied with.
" Your pain is my fault. " Alma interjected.
" We both still die. " the other replied, emotionless.
" I kill you. You don't kill me. " Alma snapped back with a weeping voice.
" I still have to watch, sister. " the doppelganger retorted blankly.

They would share silence for the moment being. The doppelganger was behind Alma, coddling her and resting her head upon Alma's back. Alma did not so much like to be touched, but she knew that her sister, or the doppelganger, was Alma's clone. so she knew how to bypass this. A crack of thunder echoed throughout the Medical room. Alma's doppelganger seemed to tense up lightly. Indeed she had been scared by the storm, however Alma did not jump, despite the loud ear shattering boom from the skies. Alma touched her sisters hand with her own. The doppelganger had gotten up from the chair, and opened the window. A heavy downpour of rain engulfed the morning skies. It was all gray outside, but Alma loved it. She followed her doppelganger over to the window and they sat on the windowsill chairs that wrapped around the window, they listened to the rain for some time, and seemed to become engrossed in it. Alma took care of her wound. Her nose had bleed but why she never knew. Alma had felt the rain pelt her skin, in their moment of silence, they seemed to be more bright with each other. The nightmares wouldn't stop, she didn't know what was causing them, but she knew once she found out, she'd be able to stop them.

Deep beneath the west wing of the large, castle like, guild lay a place few had come to visit as of late. Hidden away with it's tomes, archives, scrolls, and books. . sat the library of the guild. Clenched deep within the earth, like a pearl in a clams vice . . it remained vastly undisturbed. The further down one would venture. . the more and more quiet things had gotten. The temperature dropped. . becoming cooler to the skin. A temperature most befitting for the paper - and magical pages that rested within. . though none to inviting to those who may enter at times. But it was here - one being had come to rest day in and day out. . sitting behind a large desk made of mahogany and walls of books. A small , doll like being. . . scratching away at sheets of paper with an old time quill. Long , pink toned hair, grazed the floor as she sat in her chair. Spheres of rose tinted Onyx reflected down at the paper she wrote on, a slight shimmer to be seen by the flickering of the candles that sat upon the desk. On her head, a glorious crown. . a symbol of who. . and what she was. A set of Goat horns. Horns of a species long forgotten that had once rested in the Lands of Turkey and other such places. One may have confused them for the sheep . . but no. . She was not the ever vibrant Aries. . . She. . was The Task Master. . the being of burden, of physical work, the humble goat who was. . the scapegoat. . The mythical Capricorn.

Having not eaten , nor slept. . the small girl's head did bob and eve every for moments as she just forced herself deeper into her work for the guild. Though the Mistress had a secretary , and other such things of the like, The Capricorn - Known as Enki - had taken it upon herself to do the work of others. The tedious matters none would want to do , it was the way Capricorn was. Though - it was highly taxing to her health. . At times her hand would lose it's grip on the spine of the quill. . . though with a ruff shake of her head - she would firmly grasp it once again. It was soon a small pocket watch went off on her desk, signaling the time for tea. . or. . in this case. . a minor brake.

Her shoulders dropped a bit as her eyes simply leered at the pocket watches announcement. A clear ring crying out throughout the Library's sacred isles.Yet, with a heavy sigh, she closed the watched face and placed her hands in her lap to stop for a moment. Her hair lightly moved forward and over her face. . revealing her ears to be quite unique. Something like an elf's. . but also a demons. . long. . pointed. . yet. .tilted in a 'down-and-back' sort of way. They seemed capable of movement as well. . as when she moved her hand to push back a lock of hair - her ears perked up a bit for a moment.

Leaning back in her chair, the small doll looked to her right as an imp, of which looked like a tiny bi-pedal goat, scurried up to her with a silver platter. On the platter was a pot of tea, cups, and hand sandwiches. Ah. . that was right. . her roommate. . the Scorpion. . had shown interest in such things. It would most likely be beneficial, if not proper, to try and share a cup of tea with her. Tilting her head to the side, the small goat seemed to be. . debating on this factor. She was. . not much for conversations. . . nor interactions. . not. . after / that / happened.

A hard frown soon came over her face as her hand floated over her chest. . almost as if she was scared to touch the area. Her hand could be seen trembling as it floated in the air. . she. . could never forget those events. . even if by some means all her memories were destroyed. . THOSE would continue to burn her. . .But, like before, she simply shook her head. . and moved on.

Sliding off her chair, she patted down her mythril - infused dress , and took the tray from the imps claws. Thanking it, she went to move on out of the library and head over to the Infirmary to visit the one called "Alma". The two had not known each other long. . having both shown up at the Guild around the same time. . they had honesty just started to . . . sort of talk to one another. Though given both of them were rather mute. . . for their own reasons. . time in the room was. . like the Library. . silent.

As the girl rounded the top of the steps. . her ears had caught wind of the sound of rain. Soft little piter patters of water hitting the large glass windows of the west wing. IT was. . .quite soothing. With an air of false calmness. . the girl continued to move on. . but was soon met with. . altercations. . Thunder and lightning. A Bright flash had caused her to freeze in her place - as a crash of thunder caused the girl to stagger back. . shaking in her boots. Ah - she disliked sudden things. . lightning and thunder being the biggest. Quivering, she continued to push herself forward. Down the halls, through the foyer, and up more steps . . freezing. . stopping. . shaking. . every now and then. Why was she even trying so hard? Maybe she just wanted someone to talk to . . and it was logical to try and be. . . good with your room mate. . right?

At long last she had arrived at the Infirmary. . most of her time being taken up between long pauses of fear from the flashes of lightning being created. With a weak hand, she knocked on the door of the Infirmary. . The rumble of thunder still present. Her hands shook as they held the tray - causing the sound of chattering china to be heard in the air as well. With no response. . . Enki knocked again. . a bit harder this time. . ( just to stave off thunder ) and at last. . .spoke. " May. . .I ask. . .to have tea with you? "

Nudging the door a bit. . she. . sort of shuffled in and half hid behind the door. Was she. .hiding from the lightning? " . . . Please excuse me. . I mean not to intrude. . ." The Capricorns eyes seemed fixed on the ground - a rather old method of showing respect. . She had not been greeted yet - or 'welcomed' so she would keep her gaze on the ground. . Yes - she knew Alma to be in the room . . as she could feel the presence of an aura there. . .more so Alma's whom she had become rather use to now. " . . But. . I thought you. . may like some tea. . " Ah, Enki's voice was a soft one. A little airy a times. . though it may have been from under use in the past. . or how tired she always was. The little thing would often run herself ragged . . so her true voice was often something of a mystery. . even to herself.

Alma enjoyed the rain, and the storm that was gracing them this current moment. It was even more pleasant that it had decided to start so early in the morning. Alma had opened her palm, letting the water collect in the cracks of her hand. Her doppelganger, had noticed this, and she had done the same. After a moments pass, The doppelganger had let a small smile fly away. She opened up with something peaceful to say.

" It is an amazing Science we have here, Sister. " She replied, letting the water pool in her hand, before tilting it slightly and letting the water pour out onto the windowsill.
" I would be inclined to agree. I have perfected the ability to create an exact replica of myself. . . " Alma added, it was soon followed up with an even more clever remark.
" With the ability to retain information. And give it to you in a moments notice. " The doppelganter replied.

                                                    " I am You. -- " The Doppelganger started.
" And You are Me. -- " Alma replaced her wet hands and touched her chest, as if signaling her excitement through gesture.
" I am proud of you. " The Doppelganger had said extending her hand.
" I appreciate your own happiness, but I am desperate for a friend. The others. . . They are not like us. They do not understand me, nor will they ever. . . Which is why I lock myself away. . . I dare not let any of them get so close. I am paranoid they are out to hurt me. . . " Alma replied, sinking lowly in her seat.
                                                    " You mustn't, Sister. . . It's better this way. . . Everyone is filled with lies. . . " The doppelganger replied, with a thick hatred.

Alma nodded her head in return, she had a stern look on her face. Though she was not upset at her doppelganger's choice in words, she felt inspired by them. Indeed these must of been true, it was better this way. She did not know who was out to get her. It was just better to keep low and avoid them for as long as she could. But still attempt to remain close as not to arouse suspicion. Alma had gotten up from her seat. Despite her horrid nightmare, she had enough rest to keep her awake for the remainder of the day. She moved towards a book that had not been opened up yet. She proceeded to pulling this book off of the shelf. It was titled "Anatomy Notes." Yes this shelf was filled with all sorts of Alma's own notes about medicine. Medicine books were in rather short supply. So she proceeded to run numerous experiments and continue her research on perfecting her knowledge of medicine to better acute her job skills. She often took notes on unfamiliar wounds by the other guildmates, and illnesses were recorded in their own journal. Most of which she was able to find a way to cute through countless practices. She invested a lot of time into her work, and it paid off with them allowing to keep their lives in check. Whether they were other Zodiacs, or Hybrids, or even Humans alone. She was able to keep them alive.

The doppelganger moved towards the makeshift morgue. Extending a tray, she was able to reveal a corpse that had recently passed. This was of course on purpose. There was still a lot of unknowns in the anatomy field. She had the time to invest upon this research, so she was quick to try to get this completed so she had more answers. The body was transported onto a medical bed. This one was specifically used for research as patients could not cross contaminate the infestations and further worsen their cases. Instead, she kept the two rooms separate so that she could prevent this from happening. She looked over to Alma, who had been returning with the book of notes.

" Patient Study: XXV Race: Human Gender: Male. Shall we begin, Sister? " The doppelganger had given Alma the appropriate synopsis of the research object, So Alma could transfer this information under the appropriate consign. Alma looked through the notes and read down the names of the parts. She felt rather relieved.

" We are almost done with Humans. If only we had willing Zodiac patients, we could get those wounded in the higher ranks out of here quicker than we are already working. We would need a restoration master so that scarring is not an issue. Let's proceed on. Turn him over on his back, we still need to get an accurate mapping of his spine, and these weird white spots. They appear to be holding the bone together, like some sort of adhesive. We will need to figure this out more. Perhaps there is a book about it somewhere. " Alma replied, she had a mask tied to her face. She moved towards the tray of sterile and pristine medical tools and grabbed the knife. She made a slow insertion down two sides, and connected the two of them towards the top of the body with a bisecting line. She pulled the skin back and revealed the spine, and the muscles of a Human male in his prime. (Late Twenties.)

They had gotten some progress jotting down more notes, but an unexpected visitor had come knocking at the door. At first, It only had sounded like mere knocking.

" Someone is at the door, Sister. " The doppelganger had replied. Silence had filled the room momentarily, as if they did not believe this. Another Knock was heard. This time, there was a small voice calling out to them. The doppelganger had immediately vanished back into Alma.

Alma had taken off her gloves. She proceeded to locking the door to the research lab. She moved towards the door after properly disposing the gloves. She wrapped her slender fingers around the knob of the door. Opening it slowly, but not suspiciously, she was met with a rather shorter than expected sight at the door. Her eyes looked down slightly, she was not ridiculously taller than Enki, thus when she opened the door, she could see the top of her Fuzzy pink head. Alma's brilliant Topaz eyes locked with Enki's. She did not know what to say at first, but instead of standing there like an incompetent vessel, she opened her mouth.

" Enki. " She replied, quite passively. She did not seem excited to see her, but she certainly did not seem angered by her presence.

She had been roommates with this one. She was quiet. But familiar. So perhaps this was as good as any. But why had she come here? This was quite an odd Visit. But she took in a familiar and relaxing scent. Alma was rather excited on the inside that Enki had decided to come up. She was her most unhealthiest patient of them all. How she was still walking was what fascinated her. Without any more doubt, she continued to speak.

" This visit is unexpected. But it is rather needed. Do, Come in. " She moved aside from Enki, but not without taking the tray from her hands in a polite manner. While Enki had tried to be nice, it was without common interest that she would rather sit and relax for a minute.

" It was quite a mistake of you to come around. While I do appreciate your visit. You do understand there is a great concern about you. Please, Have a seat by the window. The rain should help you cool down. You understand you are my most unhealthiest patient correct? " She had set the tray at the table. The sandwiches and tea were appreciated, she had not eaten in awhile, and she was just about to go get something to drink. Luckily, this had all been done for her.

" But. . . . . . Perhaps I will allow you the satisfaction of revealing that I will not pester you this time. I can only assume you had broken away from work to take a break. So -- " She took a seat across from Enki, she crossed her legs and allowed her hands to intertwine on her lap. She had already knew she could not stop Enki from preparing the food, so she would allow her to do so. She was vastly independent after all.

" You can be at ease. " She finished. Alma veered her attention out the window for a moment. She took in the cool air of the rain, and almost sighed in content as how relaxed it made her feel. She had a sudden realization of thought that had popped into her head.

" I have something to ask of you, As you would be the being to know more about it than anyone else. Have you any more medical books of Anatomies. I am nearing completion of my research, but I need more basic information to complete my researches. Also have you got any newer issues of Rare Herbal Medicines laying around. I've torn your library apart some time ago and snatched any medical books I could fine -- Have you filled up since then? . . . Hm. . . But more importantly -- No, No that one can wait for another date. It's still in it's Alpha-Stages. " she murmured aloud the last part, though it was audible for Enki to hear. She was more speaking her thoughts at that point. She was more concerned at the fact she had pestered her with speech. Alma never talked this much.

Scolded. Though Enki had predicted this, it was always rather troubling when it occurred. Even the Head Mistress had shown issues with the girls . . less then perfect state of being. Yet, at the same time, Enki had shown herself to be one of only few beings who could hold the work load of maintaining the guilds finances and legal works. There were times when groups would go on missions and damages were done. Of which she had to figure out how the guild would pay for them or if they were even responsible to do as such. Then there were countless documents to look over, checkbooks to balance, papers to file and organize. It was a non stop job. . yet ontop of that was her duty to be the archivist of the Guild as well. Keeping constant note of the supplies in and out. . the Guild members. . their pay and dues. . as well as the library which had become her living space most of the time. Though she was an able body warrior. . work had become rather harsh as of late as more and more people joined the guild. . yet less and less seemed capable of taking part of the workload meant to handle it. Though, realistically speaking . . . none of it really needed to be done. There were no true due dates for the papers. . yet. . in Enki's mind. . if they were not done upon showing up. . then they would never get done. A masochistic workaholic. Some had debated if she liked torturing herself. . while others knew far better. . it was a sickness. Throwing herself into work to mask something. . else. .

For a moment, Enki just stood there in a daze. Had she fallen asleep while standing? Ah, no. Shaking her head, she looked back over at Alma. The tray had been taken from her. . and she had been instructed to go sit by the window. Though such a thing made Enki cringe on the inside . . she reluctantly nodded her head and walked her way over to a chair by the window and waited.

Not a moment later did Alma join her. . . Two cups of tea and some sandwiches. . though Enki did not partake in the food. Though the small girl was hungry. . she felt it would make her sick if she ate so suddenly. Taking a sip of her tea, she lightly tilted her head as Alma continued to speak to her. It was nice to hear another's voice. The silence of the library was enough to drive one mad at times. . so. . in turn. . Enki was quite good at listing. A Question had then been posed to the little goat warrior. One about the books in the library and the quantity of a cretin kind of book. Looking up for a moment, she pondered to herself before calling up a little goat-like imp who handed her a slip of paper with many titles on it. - The imp vanishing soon after.

Reading the paper over, she returned her gaze to Alma. " . . I had taken the liberty to order a few more medical books after you had gone looking for them. . . " Dragging her finger down the list, she seemed to nod a few times. " There should be ten new books of interest for you on medical works and anatomy." Turning the page over she tilted her head to one side and mumbled a bit to herself. " Four of the six new Herbal books should be in as well. . the last two are apart of a set. . . . but they should be in by weeks end. . ." With a slightly shaken hand, she lifted her cup up once more to take a sip of tea. " I will have the imps gather the books for you and deliver them in a moment. . . " Place her cup back down. . a dim glow of dark energy came from her eyes for a moment. " It will take them a moment. . . "

Hearing the last bit of what Alma had to say caused Enki's ears to perk up in mild interest. " Alpha stage?" Leaning back in her chair a bit, the ever calm Enki simply continued. " Is . . there something I can help you with? " Placing her hands on her lap, she rubbed the one over the other - trying to warm them up a bit. " Though, as the Task Master, it is my duty to give tasks. . I am more then capable of doing them myself. . . I would have no problem with assisting you. . if it is within my power. . . "

As Enki finished speaking, a troop of imps arrived with the books Enki had requested them to get her. One by one they came up to the table and placed them down. . Medical books. . herbal books. . books on medicines. . all while Enki calmly took in more tea. When the last book was placed down. . they all vanished and returned to the Library. " Hm. . they were a bit slow. . . I am sorry. . . I do hope. . . this may help you. . "

Ahh. How befitting that the weather outside was miserable. It seemed to have reflected the way the fish felt quite often to the point that she felt exposed by it. Nonetheless, rain wasn't ever something she would shun away. It was rather inviting. The feel of water landing all over her body was comforting and relaxing as she stood outside in the open, her jacket hanging loosely from her wrists as her head was held high, eyes closed. She had most likely appeared like a fool but that was alright. It wasn't like she would get sick from something like this like others would be.
Opening her eyes a little Ceres starred at the dark clouds above her, the raindrops giving off a somewhat hypnotic movement from this angle. It reminded her of when she was little, lying on the beach while it was raining while her parents watched her and worried for her health. Ceres smiled to herself before she gave a soft and quiet giggle. It was a habit of hers to think about the past and often live in it. stuck in a daydream for several hours. Sure, here and now was what's important to others but she couldn't really see it that way. Her past was so much happier than the present and possible future. Why not be happy in her thoughts rather than being miserable in every day life?

Feeling that she was done, Ceres faced the large building and walked towards it in a fairly slow pace, making her way to her room. She did not want to go back inside but she was really getting hungry. Stupid bodily needs were so annoying. As she walked down the hall on her way to the dorm, she had very few people gazing at her, wondering as to why she was soaked. Most members by now were used to seeing her this way for they watched her on countless occasions make her way outside excitedly when it rained. It was rather funny to be honest, looking at their confused faces. A male in the distance looked at her up and down and Ceres immediately looked away and began to quicken her pace. She could certainly do without "those" gazes though.
Fumbling for her keys once she was at her door, she clumsily unlocked it, walked in, then closed it quietly. She had no idea if her room mate was here or not, so without further ado, she brought her wet self to the kitchen and began making a meal.

XXXXXX ▸ ▹ ▸ Alma was vaguely appeased that someone else in this guild could at least get something done. Soon she would have 10 new books to be able to expand her work ethics and her knowledge on medicine. The circle of life one would say. Alma had crossed her legs and let her hands fall softly upon her lap. Her brilliantly colored eyes had shifted out towards the window so that she may watch the dim grey atmosphere outside this room. The water was a nice touch. Alma looked down at her hands, well she tried too. She returned her left hand back to the window so that the rain may grace her skin. It was cool as always, but it felt magnificent as the phenomenon had rested upon her soft skin. Every so often the rune languages on her arms, and conspiring with her eyes, would glow every now and a gain. As if she was charging her power up. And while this was the case, she only did so as to keep it flowing, new and energized. Like cutting yourself so that you may bleed old blood, and new blood can enter your body. So as of right now, she was of more for show than anything. But to the others' minds, as she has never once casted a single power in front of any of them, this could all very well be a phenomenon to even Zodiacs. More or less because of the thoughts her being able to cast powers, but never doing so. Alma returned her gaze towards the Capricorn. She had an aura about her. Though with actual displays of her magics being able to summon in these imps, it was certainly curious to her. The deep dark aura that resided in her eyes was warming to the Scorpio. She loved the dark. . .

" I am currently almost finished documenting the anatomy of those mammal. I've mapped out 93% of a human. However, there are a few more tomes I need in regarding the...... Certain species, and races. " She finished, though her pause was questionable.

She had picked up her tea cup and she'd partake in feeling quite relieved to be able to quench her thirst. The tea was satisfactory in regards to taste. She even proceeded to eating one of the sandwiches that resided on the tray that was prepared. She was feeling rather hungry, and she knew she would not be able to concentrate had she been listening to her stomach all the time. She seemed to passively stare at Enki, though for good reason, she appeared to wonder why Enki had not tried to eat something. Alma's eyes in return to this thought, had squinted rather intuitively. She decided to speak up.

" Why have you not eaten yet, Enki? There is plenty here for us. " She inquired, though it did not appear to be a stab towards Enki at all. As Enki's nurse, the concern was indeed there.

She took a cloth to her mouth and wiped the crumbs from her face. She held it in her hands for a moment before sharing a silence with her. She closed her eyes and let out a ever so gentle sigh. She would not scold the girl, but she only hoped that Enki would at least use that intelligent brain of hers and listen to the nurse. Alma had opened her eyes rather fast this time as the recited information reached her ears. Enki heard that? Well of course she heard it, but why would she be so in tuned with it. Alma could only sit there for a moment and watch Enki. As always, she had offered her services. But that was not the thing in the least bit. While Alma could of accepted this help, she was still unprepared for documenting the Anatomy of Zodiacs. She could physically and emotionally do this, it just was not the time for it. Alma rested her elbows on the table and leaned forward a bit.

" You shouldn't worry about that. It's in Alpha stage because it is not ready. We are still a long ways from this. " She replied before leaning back.

The thunderstorm had picked up once more, but it was far away. The rumbles from the sounds of thunder could be heard rumbling like a hungry stomach some miles away. But that was the thunderstorm Alma loved more, just the quiet rumbles of the thunder, and hard pelting rain. She seemed quite at peace with all of this.

Even as the Rain heavily washed over the windows, and thunder cracked it did little to defuse the happenings of the guild . Within the stone walls of Castle, in the Beer hall drunken cheer seemed the lessen the malevolent storm. Minstrels played their harps, and their flutes, whilst Men cheered, and laughed, and sang their drunken self's, with their beer in hand, and hearts in the other. Occasionally you would seen a few people. rush in seeking shelter from storm. Hostesses delivered food, and attended to the drunk fools, lending an ear, and sometimes their purity. Virgo the Keeper of the Tavern, pranced across the Bar, her skirted raised with one hand, and her other hand raised high over her hand, as she performed a sort of Irish foot dance across the wooden structure. And as she she did, she sang along to the music in hums, men in the background in sync could heard, " Heyyyy, Ohhhh, Heyyyy Ohhh", they would sing, as if that was all their intoxicated voices could muster.

As the song came to an end, Catherine would bow, and jump of the bar with grace, passing by a hostess, she would still a tray of drinks for her, and smile at her confusion, " Leave to me!", she chimed. Moving to tables with Swift Grace she delivered beers, " Here ya are John, Ulrik, and Henry. They'er extra Foamy today, Enjoy".

"Well if ain't good ol' Miss Cathyyrrr", slured John.

" Oi, Thank ya lassy", responded Ulrik, gratefully, with a drunken smile. Henry said nothing but raised his Glass in gratitude.

Virgo smiled and nodded, "Of course, your very welcome. I'll checked up on you all later, enjoy", she said before leaving the table to serve another round of drinks.

looking over at Alma as she was questioned, her eyes slowly looked down at the food before her. " . . . Well. . . I . . " Within her lap, one hand rubbed over the other a soft frown forming on her face. " sick . . . . " Looking off to the side, she continued. " . . . It. . . makes me. . . sick. . . Though honestly . . with the blight. .it was hard to do anything. Although Alma was her nurse , she had not let go the information of the blight - nor had Enki shown the scar to her - though it was for good . . if not personal reasons. With her hand going from her stomach to her chest, Enki looked over at the small sandwiches. It was. . not much, . . .but it was something. . and certainly healthier then eating nothing at all. Closing her eyes for a moment, her ears tilted down under her hair. " . . . I. . will try. . "

With a hesitent hand, the small goat girl reached out from a cube of food. Her hand, shaking, frail, and pale as the moon it's self. With her thin fingers resting on the soft bread, she picked up a slice and brought it up to her mouth. For a moment, she let the soft substance sit on her lips before trying to eat it. Her eyes grew heavy though. .and as she started to take a bite. . her balance started to taper off. One bite. . and she started to lean forward. Catching herself. . she flinched and placed the sandwich cube down on a napkin. . a small bite visible as she did this. " With a hand over her other hand in her lap. . she simply stared down blankly at the bitten bit of food before her.

With Alma's voice over the air once more, Enki's ears perked up as she spoke. Only Alpha stage? Well. . that was a bit of a let down. Enki was rather . . excited to help in something. . or. .at least be worth something in the eyes of another. . Other then just an endless work. . goat. Her shoulders dropped a bit and she slowly reached out for her tea. " . . oh. . . . .ok. . . " Picking the cup up, she took and long sip of it before placing it back down. A strong, tired, expression painting it's self over her young , doll like face. " Well. . .if you need me. . . I am available. . . " A slight look of disappointment could be seen on the goat's face as she fiddled with her teacup.

Yet not a moment sooner, a crackle of thunder broke the silence of the room. A Chill ran down Enki's spine as her eyes shot open - her hair standing on end. She shivered, and her arms constricted themselves to the small girl's body. It had. . . scared her. Startled the young one. For a moment, she simply sat there in this state. . before slowly getting up. " . . I . .I should go back to work. . . " Another crackle of thunder would cause her to shudder - her ears drooping down as far as they could go on her head. " too much to be done. . too little time. . ." Standing by the table she bowed. " T-thank you for you time. . Alma. . ." With a bit of a tired stagger, she started to head for the door. . though it seemed it was quite hard for her to do so. Between her own level of tiredness. . and the thunder. . one could say. .she almost looked like a dunk going down the street. . yet trying to act sober.

Alma was curious as to how or even why this was. Then again she did not completely feel surprised as she knew who she was dealing with. It was rather pitiful to see such a potential being so frail and unsure. She buried herself so thick in everyone else' work that she cannot even maintain an average health. Alma mentally shook her head as the cute of food entered her mouth. This test clearly had been failed, as she proceeded to tell her that food had made her ill. She felt the need to bring up a common point, but she knew Enki was also aware. After all, Alma did not know the reasoning behind all of this-- this mindless catering to those animals. But it appeared that because of her complete analysis, There was indeed things far wrong with Enki than she had originally anticipated. Enki lost her balance, her equilibrium was thrown off at a single bite of a sandwich. Perhaps she was indeed ill. She had to give the goat credit, she had said she would try, and she did. For what it was worth that was. Alma's advice had seemed to cause more damage to the Capricorn. She was acting intoxicated, and thoroughly showing signs of uncommon behavior from her natural personality. While Enki was always sluggish, this was just a rather sad display of it. She could at least walk straighter than this. Alma mentally sighed as Enki made her way towards the door. She did not get up, quite yet.

" If you can make it out the door, you may leave. " Alma's voice picked up gently, her voice carried out through the room. She acted as if she did not care, but the point of it was, she knew Enki would not be allowed to leave this place.

There was a lot to take in, truthfully. She knew Enki would of liked to leave as quickly as she could. Alma understood that she was not inclined to give people a sense of being wanted. She knew she had scared the goat off. She was not new to this type of scene. Alma had turned towards the window, the thunder was not helping. She noted the behavior that Capricorn had given off as the rumbles of the thunder reached their ears. She did not think she would ever get much out of Capricorn in the ideals of emotions, but one thing was for sure. . . She knew Enki was afraid of the thunder. She cringed at the sound of it, her ears folded down like a sad puppy. That was all she had written in Alma's eyes. Alma closed the window, this was enough fresh air for the mean time, she did hope the rain could continue, she hoped it would last the tenure of the day. She hoped that this peaceful feeling could be with her for however long she was able to keep it close. The sound of the window latching was obvious. Alma had gotten up from her seat, she proceeded to close the distance between Enki and herself. She came into contact with the goat. She lifted her hand to the top of the goats head, letting it grace against the abundance of soft pink hair of the goat. With a tone of care, something that came with the job, she let her voice be heard.

" You have a thick skull, Enki. . . Natural to the goat. " she announced, passively.
" But I must keep you well. . . " she started, her voice had softened a bit. She was her nurse. She spoke on a personal level.
" Stay. . . For just a little while longer. " She had asked, she lifted the goat up and sat her to the bed adjacent to them.

She had done the normal procedure. She checked for symptoms of common illnesses. She had assumed that Enki was under the weather and not feeling well. A common sickness or something. Enki rarely let her even run simple tests on her to check for these things. It had irritated her for awhile, but she would not jam things into the goat and make her feel uncomfortable. So she was forced to bite her tongue and proceed on with less effective measures. Which is what she was currently doing.

" No fever. . . normal body temperature. . . slight discoloration of the skin. . . isn't eating properly due to solid foods being hard to ingest. . . Little to no sleep a night. . . but there is no infection, viruses or bacteria causing your problems. Your health is low, but you aren't infested with any illnesses. . . I -- I just don't get it. " she had replied, she let her hands rest on the bed, while she examined the goats eyes. It was hard to tell, as they were all one color. Even so, they looked fine as well. Alma was annoyed she could not figure this out.

She took off her mask, and tossed her nurses had aside. It was annoying to have to wear that thing for long periods of time. She paced for a moment, before allowing her to leave. Alma had opened the door for Enki. She folded her arms over her chest.

" You may leave now. . . I will be keeping a close eye on you so that I can keep watch on your condition should it worsen. " she replied.

She seemed to immediately sink in herself. How could she not, by now it had sounded like there were one too many drunks in the bar at this hour. Which was lucky for her because she was right on top of all of them. She might not be able to take the loud noises. She was rather enjoying the peace and quiet. Which was one thing she could say she lucked out on. Enki, well, Enki was just one of the quiet types.

It had brought a good deal of comfort to Enki when her head was pet. The intelligent girl had even started to lean into it a bit , though she did not know she was doing this. An expression of shock came over her as she was suddenly picked up from this an audible 'na!' coming from her for a moment. Yet not a moment sooner was she placed upon a bed and started to be examined by Alma. By the looks of things, though, the examination was not going well. Enki just seemed to shrink where she sat as Alma began to grow more frustrated. ". . I'm sorry . . " She would mutter while looking down, her fingers clutching the fabric of her dress - ears pointed down. After which, she was told she could leave. . doors opening to her and Alma standing by looking rather distant.

Rubbing her hands a bit, Enki slid off the bed and patted her dress down as she turned and went for the door. She kept her gaze at the floor as she walked past - looking a bit guilty for the stress she felt she had caused Alma. " . . Thank you. . Alma. . " Walking past the girl and out the door, the small goat sighed as she continued walking. The head part from before giving her just enough energy to at least go on. A long sigh leaving her as she brought her gaze up and looked out the large windows that lined the outer hall. Black eyes reflecting the gray that smeared across the sky as rain continued to fall. . . But. . there was something. . more out there. . something that had caused the blight in Enki's chest to burn.

Cringing, she grasped the cloth that covered the area as her eyes continued to scan outside of the guild. She could. . . feel them. . . eyes looking back at her from the mists the rain was producing. Their energy was low. . .too low for most to detect. . .but they were there. " . . . Undead. . " A legion had been been spawned right under their noses. . . something she would not allow again - it was impressive. . but the power was frail. The only being who could have done such a thing. . .was the god of Death himself. But. . why? Had he felt the gathering of spirits here? Shaking her head - the Capricorn knew it her duty to defend the Guild. As such. . she opened the window. . and jumped out and into the rain soaked court yard. . . It was there she saw the commander. A being she knew from her time in hell. Narrowing her eyes - a crystal scythe formed in her hands. " . . . Bone Guard Valcul. . . . Why do you bring your men upon this guild. . "

A Giant figure , standing at about 8 feet in height, towered over the little capricorn. His face was that of a skull. . and the rest of his body a decaying mass wrapped in human clothing. A chattering giggle came from his 'mouth' as his hoard slowly moved closer to the domain of the spirits. " EA . . . it has been some time. . . " A single red light could be seen in the left eye. " Though you are. . smaller. . then I remember. . . " Twisting his head from one side to the other, a loud 'crack' could be heard coming from his shoulders. " Regardless. . . My master has . . . requested my presence here. . " Sticking a hand in his chest, he pulled out a long dark blade made out of obsidian from the hole.

" Master? . . . . The god of Death. . . What does he want here. . . " Bracing herself, the goat of the zodiac sent out a small crystal bird from her hand. The bird would soon fly out and into the Guild it's self. . sending out a warning call to all of it's inhabitants. " It is not like him to be so forward with what he wants. . . . clearly. . there is something more here. . ." Her eyes locked onto the skeletal figure as he held his hand up.

"Aye. . . he has. . . ideas. . . . But. . so does She. . . " Another cackle left him. " Die or live. . . both are prisoners here. . . but I digress. . . it is now time. . to claim this haven. . " Putting his sword forward. . the small army of skeletal beings charged the guild.

Waking herself up, the Capricorn began to defend the guild and it's grounds as best she could on her own and in her weakened state. The blight in her chest burning like a blazing sun as she began her own assault on the undead army. Using her power of gravity, she began to crush the foes that came close to her while sending out a wave of crystals to try and defend the guild and hold back a few forces while she waited for reinforcements. Though above all . . she was trying to make her way over to their leader. . . the one she called Valcul. Slashing through the nameless forces with her scythe, she was going as fast as her little legs would allow her to go - ignoring a few stab wounds she had been gaining in the mean time. . even if a skeletal forces arms were seavered . . they were still capable of doing damage. .

Bored blue eyes stared absently at the window, listening as the raindrops fell in soft pitter patters against the framed glass. Just his luck to be starting the morning under a cloudy gray, not an ounce of sunlight to be seen! His mood seemed to reflect the sodden gloominess, especially when he considered the cause of the rain: Zeus. Yes, he knew these rain cycles should be taken as a blessing from above for all the meager sacrifices made below, but … regarding the sky god always reminded Caerus of his former status. It had been thousands of years since that time in history, and yet the past was bound to him like flesh and blood. The past…

Caerus quickly shook himself out of his stupor, lest he lose himself in a daydream too soon. ‘I needn’t ponder on what has already come to pass.’ He tried to think of happier things; like being found by the Mistress after wandering for months without real purpose; joining the guild with food and a roof under his head; and, most importantly: meeting his fellow guildmates. Never in his eternal time as a spirit had he felt closer to the Zodiacs as he did now. They were more than friends – they were like a separate family tree that stemmed from their celestial makeup. Well, from whom he’s met so far, anyways. He still hadn’t got the dorm rooms down, but was sure in due time he would have them known like the back of his hand!

Just the thought of it brought new light to the Gemini’s eyes. “Yes,” he started, rising from his slouch against the window sill. “Today we’re going to—!”

                                                  SCREEEEEEE!

A bird’s call cut through his declaration at a piercing degree, startling Caerus into a back-stiffening posture. It took a moment for him to register the reason for the sudden wake up call before he was up and out the door, staff in hand. He followed the warning screech to the guild’s main room, not even breaking pace as he hurried out the door and into the pouring rain.
The Gemini peered into the mist surrounding the enclosure, trying to make sense of their enemy’s location before anything else. However, upon defining the dark shapes breaking through the hazy layer – eyeballing the patches of decaying flesh and tissue attached loosely to their bones – a fine tremble began in Caerus’ hands. It shook off the grip he’d once had on his staff, and then made its way down to complete the chill running down his spine. “N-No…! he breathed.

Despite his earlier efforts, battling these all too familiar hoards of the dead flashed through Caerus’mind, appearing in time to his frantic heartbeats. The hungry moans he recalled a breath from his ears haunted his sense of hearing once more, drowning out the thunder storm; the distinct sound of crystal clashing against metal. Without his twin at his side, Caerus was at a loss of how to act. They had always decided their course of action together, but now…! No amount of self-motivation could move him from the fear-induced trauma playing back in his mind’s eye – that instance when everything … fell apart.

At that moment a skeletal soldier managed to cross the distance towards him, sword poised. Caerus could do nothing more then look up helplessly at the impending danger just above his head.

                                                  Falling … falling…

XXXXXX ▸ ▹ ▸ Alma's brilliant topaz eyes had stared emptily at the Capricorn as she had hopped down from the bed and started to head for the door. Alma did not have much else to say, so she didn't say anything. As Enki had left her field of vision, she had gently shut the door to her office and took a deep silent breath. She turned and moved towards the window once more. She unlocked the hinge and pushed open the window, the sounds of pelting rains had grown louder. Alma let her hands rest on the windowsill. She bent over so she could feel the rain on her face, though with no intentions of soaking herself, she quickly retorted back and continued to watch from afar. She folded her arms across her chest as she seemed to wait, though she had nothing to do, so she was just standing around. The Scorpio took in a silent breath of the fresh rain atmosphere. It smelled so wonderful to her. She looked down at the table that rested next to her, the teacups and edibles stood around absently as those occupying them had left. Alma reached down for her teacup, the liquid was still quite hot. She took a sip of tea and felt the ease come over her body. She could only imagine the recipe for this was crafted with fresh raspberries and other more potent remedies. The Capricorn had surely become skillful in preparing Tea. While to anyone else the concept of preparing tea properly wasn't enough of an achievement. It was rather hard to master this. It should be something to relish in. Just as she had relaxed, the doppelganger had returned.

" That was close. " The Alma copy replied lightly.
" Not at all, dear sister. You are quite good at hiding. " She reassured her clone.
" Hmn. " She replied with an airy response, she looked towards the teacups.
" What do you think of the Capricorns condition, sister. " Alma replied, out of the blue.

The clone would give it some thought, though she seemed rather affected by the sight of the Capricorn's condition.

                                                          " She is dying. . . " The clone replied, rather broken-heartedly.
" I don't know how to treat it. " Alma replied, shifting to face her doppelganger.
" I fear she could be the first case witness of something greater. " The doppelganger replied.
" Tch. I hope you are wrong on this one. " Alma replied, staring into the liquid of the tea.
" We can't treat first case witnesses, we would have to test her until we found out the synopsis of the virus, and contaminate it with a remedy. There is a reason they are referred too as Patient 0's --- " The doppelganger was cut off.
" Yes, but first case witnesses always die. They are just there to be tested on, recorded their illnesses, and are used for a cure to solve later cases of that illness. If she were to have something like this, . . . I haven't lost anyone. . . not yet. " Alma replied, with a look of anger.

The doppelganger nodded her head slowly. It was quite clear Alma intended to keep her death rate at 0. She has not lost anyone to anything just yet. But there was not a whole lot to treat as of yet, she was highly experienced, so this was all like a walk in the park. Alma turned around to face the window once more, however in doing so, she caught something odd. There was a battle going on, Armies of something were approaching the guild, and there was someone out there fighting them off for the most part. Alma had made a sound, cringing in disbelief, she'd leaned forward aggressively on the windowsill and gritted her teeth a bit. " Pink hair. . . " She'd thought, the doppelganger was quick to respond, approaching quickly and taking a gander out into the rainy lands.

" Unbelievable, We're being attacked?! " The doppelganger raised her voice in disbelief.

The sound of a bird reaching their ears from the halls. They shared a glance for a moment. Alma straightened herself out and folded her arms, she sighed lightly.

" It would seem so, Sister, Vanish for now. If I need you, I will call on you. We will not engage. But I am their nurse, so my presence will be needed down there. " she replied, before receiving a nod from her sister, she vanished.

Alma had turned and headed out the door. She walked along the hall and down the stairs. She had proceeded out the front door and stood on the top step. The rain had kissed her ashy colored skin in a rough manner. It was raining heavily outside as she had already known. She did not know who was launching this attack, but it was quite clear they were coming for blood. She stepped down from the steps, it looked as if nothing but bones and armor laid on the grounds of the guild. Whoever was attacking them, seemed to be no more than. . . . . skeletons?

" Skeletons. . . Hmn. . . More information will be available soon. For now, I suppose I should continue on and meet up with whom ever is still around. " she spoke softly, before bending down to pick up a crystal shard. She held it in her hand, debris from an attack no doubt.

She stood up and tossed the crystal up and caught it in her hand once more, she'd heard something audible in the distance. Upon her eyes meeting what caused it, But what she had found was something. . . rather unsettling. She approached him from the rear, her steps squashing with the sounds of rain puddles. It was clear he was shaken by fear by his inability to act on this. As the skeletal soldier was making his way towards the . . . Child? Alma frowned a bit, she had summoned her grand scythe. It had a Reaping blade on each end of the pole. She hurled it forward like a Frisbee. It whizzed above his head and barreled into the soldier, breaking him into tiny pieces. The scythe had hurled to the side and back into Alma's hands. Planting it onto the surface of the grass, she looked down at the child looking thing, her Topaz eyes shining brightly. She did not say anything, however, she had glanced up from the boy and eyed more of these. . . skeletons. She desummoned her weapon, the Grand Scythe fading from existence. She proceeded to walk forward, around the boy and continued ahead slowly. She leaned a bit to the right to evade a sword, and doing these sequence of dodges as she continued to press forward. Following the crystal shards and blood trail. He could follow Alma if he so wished. She would defend him as she was indeed the nurse. But she would not attack. She was only pressing forward to meeting up with what seemed like the rest of the guild. When in all actuality, it was only one of them. Capricorn.

The broken bones and lifeless corpses, well that was pressing it a bit as they were never really alive, lead her trail towards whomever had pressed ahead. They were injured, so they would indeed need her help. Or well she felt obligated to help. Despite not fighting.

Gently licking her fingers after putting in a macaroni pie in the oven, Ceres had to do what she hated most. Wait for her food to cook. Mind you, she could eat it as it is but that wouldn't even be the same. It would just be plain macaroni. Leaning against the kitchen counter she allowed her mind to wonder off a little. Her hair and clothes were still very wet from being outside in the rain but she was one of those people who were too lazy to even bother drying off. Can't blame a fish for being... well... a fish. Being dry isn't something she was into. It was something she was forced to live with on this planet.
Hearing a loud screech outside had made Ceres jump before she growled with annoyance. For crying out loud! Could there not be a problem right now? Ceres held her hand to er grumbling stomach before she looked at the oven. Angrily she switched it off before walking over to the window and peering down.
Although she couldn't see too well, she noticed that Scorpio, Capricorn, and even Gemini were outside. What were those hordes of darkness though? It was hard to tell. Putting on her hoodie and saddling up her weapon, Ceres wasted no time as she left her dorm and made her way to the front entrance of the guild. In all honesty, this was ridiculous. What a waste of time, this was. Ceres left trails of water behind her, people wondering how she herself isn't slipping and sliding around considering she was wearing heals.

Ceres busted open the doors and stood at the top of the steps with a look of disgust. Skeletons? Seriously? What the heck. Those cannot be defeated with mere attacking. Where's Aries or Leo when you need them? Fire would do much good here for they cannot get back up if brought to ashes. Mind you, hacking them to pieces could also work. Where is the ring leader behind all of this though? There needs to be an organized attack method here.
Scorpio and Gemini could be seen up ahead, Gemini struck with fear as Scorpio had shattered a skeleton and moved forward, following a trail. All of this was despicable and unnecessary. Taking action herself, Ceres started to hum while she walked down the steps, singing the song that rid of negative energy. Whenever it came to hordes of the undead, they are being used against their will to fight. She may not be able to stop the ring leader but she could definitely interrupt the line made that controls the undead. Skeletons rushed towards here but had stopped dead within a few feet of her and turned away, lowering their weapons. Approaching Gemini, Ceres simply smiled and nodded, moving forward again in order to stop the masses from approaching the guild. She had no idea what the other two were planning to do, so being the marksman, she stayed close to the Guild, protecting it with her song.
