Waking up was, quite possibly, the worst thing in the world. Other than maybe... running. In fact, compared to running around, waking up was practically pleasant. At least then you could roll over and go back to sleep, or just stare lazily at the wall or something. Faul was pretty sure he wouldn't have to do any running today, but he did know he had to wake up. And, worst yet, he had to walk. Actually tread across distance on his own two feet. Exert effort. It was such a drag. He didn't even really like thinking about it. Which was why waking up was so awful, and why he did his best to sleep in as much as he could.
But eventually, even he had to get up, if only because of the silent nagging feeling in the back of his mind. The sooner he got this done with, the sooner he could get back to doing, well... nothing. Or as close to nothing as possible. Occasionally he would actually get himself up to cook for Baal, seeing as they were sharing an apartment, but only when it was his turn, and he'd had a good.... day of sleep or so. It actually worked out well, him rooming with the sin of gluttony. Since he didn't really do much, and he was usually asleep, he really didn't eat a lot. Which meant that Baal was free to devour most of the food in their fridge, so long as he restocked it when it was empty. And when Faul Luiaard did eat, he usually didn't eat a lot, and gave his left overs to his apartment buddy. As a bonus, when he cooked, he usually cooked a lot, so there were left overs. For Baal.
He left the cleaning up to his roommate, though. That.... that was just too much effort. And there was absolutely no benefit to it.
But it was still better than running. Or walking for that matter. Investing in a bike might be a good idea, but that would involve shopping, and saving up money, and.... effort. Best to just stick with avoiding having to do anything at all, and getting it done as easily as possible when it came up. Such as this whole task to find his 'queen'. He would do it.... but he would try and get it done as soon as possible. He'd find her, protect her, whatever.... but he would do as much of it laying down as possible. He really hated the idea of some tedious body guard job where he had to walk around, standing for minutes, maybe even hours....
Okay, perhaps that was taking his laziness to an extreme. Except it also wasn't. But, finally, he did bring himself to set forth on the task at hand. After waking up on the couch and rolling onto his stomach, staring at the wall for a long time, he eventually pushed himself up, ruffling his dark hair as he shifted to sit up. One step closer to hell, in his opinion. He stared across the room, messing with his hair, then rubbing his eyes, then, grimacing, stood up. A cloud of grouchy moodiness immediately started wafting around him. He sighed, closing his eyes and rubbing his neck, and then turned... and walked around the couch. Well, at least he had some momentum now. And he didn't plan on losing it.
"Baal?" He called out his roommates name on his way to the door, grabbing his jacket on the way. He was already dressed in a button up shirt, with dark blue and black vertical stripes, wrinkled from being slept in, and slacks. For someone who didn't care much about their appearance, he actually dressed fairly well. The thick, brown leather jacket he pulled on was actually fairly nice in appearance too, and complimented his slimmer stature. "Baal, I'm going out!" he called again, unwilling to wait. He needed to keep moving or he'd fall asleep. Baal would understand, he hoped. And he could easily follow his scent, if he wanted to catch up. He figured he would, but.... he wouldn't be insulted if he didn't. They each had their own missions, after all, and not much riled Lui up.
In fact, he was usually more patient, too, but he really just wanted to go sit down again, and the only way he could do that, and not just fall back asleep, was to keep moving. So he left their place, making sure he had his keys, and taking the steps at a gradual pace. He was too lazy to even try and hurry, even if he did want to find a bench and sit down the moment he set foot on the street. But no, he needed to search. And maybe get some food. He probably hadn't eaten since yesterday morning.... Yawning, looking noticeably discontent with having to walk, he slouched along the street, surprising himself by keeping up the pace for several blocks. At a certain point, though, he couldn't take any more. He needed to sit down.
Stopping, he looked up at the cafe/restaurant, raising an eyebrow slightly at the name, and then mentally shrugging to himself. He briefly considered actually shrugging, but... effort.... Shouldering his way through the door, he languidly looked around, checking for a hostess, and stifling a yawn so he could get seated. He just wanted to lay down... or at least sit down. Maybe take a nap in between placing his order and having it delivered to his table.... Of course, he hadn't yet noticed all the particular people in the building already, but.... that wouldn't take long.
Hmm...? Did you say something?
